Something for nothing. That's the reason for the gurgling water, ultrasonic transducers, heat-measuring calorimeters, data-plotting software and other technological trappings-some seemingly of the backyard variety--inside the Institute for Advanced Studies in Austin, Tex. One would not confuse this laboratory with the similarly named but far more renowned one in Princeton, N.J., where Albert Einstein and other physicists have probed fundamental secrets of space and time. The one in Austin is more modestly appointed, but its goals are no less revolutionary. The researchers here test machinery that, inventors assert, can extract energy from empty space.

Aristotle and his followers believed no region of space could be totally empty: This notion that "nature abhors a vacuum" was rejected in the scientific revolution of the 17th century; ironically, though, modern physics has come to hold a similar view. Today there is no doubt that a region of space can be emptied of ordinary matter, at least in principle. In the modern view, however, a region of vacuum is far from being empty or featureless. It has a complex structure, which cannot be eliminated by any conceivable means.

I taught explosive ordinance in the Navy during World War II. When I first heard of the atomic bomb, I went to the Navy library to study a physics book on atomic energy. The librarian told me that all physics books had been withdrawn from the libraries. Can you imagine that today? An instructor in the Navy being unable to read a physics book!

Indications that the news media is exercising a blackout on zero-point energy stories came to me recently and is described below.

We have a friend who is a free-lance writer and she has been after me for years to let her do a story on my ZPE research. Finally, we thought well why not let her see what she can do in selling an article on the subject. I gave her the go-ahead on the condition of no local publicity as I do not have time to respond to inquiries.

She sent one page descriptions of her articles to 10 national science and news magazines without one acceptance. Recently she sent me a copy of her submission to The New National Inquirer and I was at first shocked to learn that I now have an end to global warming and monthly electric utility bills. "The past 200 years of the industrial revolution was just another form of the dark ages."

Max Planck was told that there was nothing new to be discovered in physics. He was about to embark on a career in physics that would set that idea on its ear.

As a young student Planck had shown great promise in music, but a remarkable mathematics teacher turned his interest toward science. After gaining degrees from the Universities of Berlin and Munich, he focused on thermodynamics (the study of heat and energy). He was especially interested in the nature of radiation from hot materials. In 1901 he devised a theory that perfectly described the experimental evidence, but part of it was a radical new idea: energy did not flow in a steady continuum, but was delivered in discrete packets Planck later called quanta. That explained why, for example, a hot iron poker glows distinctly red and white. Planck, a conservative man, was not trying to revolutionize physics at all, just to explain the particular phenomenon he was studying. He had tried to reconcile the facts with classical physics, but that hadn't worked. In fact, when people refer to "classical physics" today, they mean "before Planck." He didn't fully appreciate the revolution he had started, but in the years that followed, scientists such as Albert Einstein, Niels Bohr, and Werner Heisenberg shaped modern physics by applying his elegantly simple, catalytic new idea.

New observations of a great big cosmic collision provide the best evidence yet that invisible and mysterious dark matter really does exist.

The collision, between two huge clusters of galaxies, is the "most energetic cosmic event, besides the Big Bang, that we know about," said Maxim Markevitch of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics in Cambridge, Mass.

The impact split normal matter and dark matter apart, rendering the dark matter's gravitational presence observable.

Scientists announced the discovery today in a teleconference with reporters.

What is dark matter? This mysterious, apparently invisible stuff that researchers think is everywhere is not easily understood. A first step, however, is grasping what can be seen, and why.

When a scientist peers into space, either through a standard telescope or with the aid of a fancy space-based observatory, the things she observes emit light energy, called electromagnetic radiation.

Some of this radiation is optical -- the visible light you see with your eyes. But this is just one type of light energy. Electromagnetic radiation comes in many wavelengths: radio waves (the longest), infrared, optical, ultraviolet, X-rays and short gamma rays (the shortest, and also the highest form of energy. This paper contains the real secret of tapping the vacuum energy very simply, using almost any source of potential (battery, electrostatic generator a la the Swiss electrostatic device, elevated wire w/250 V/m in the earth/ ionosphere potential, etc.). The objective is for the moderately technical reader to understand how to build and understand not only a single device, but also hundreds of different kinds of them. While it is quite simple, the "magic principle" contained in this paper only took me some 30 years to discover.

Free energy, electricity from space, zero-point energy from the quantum fluctuations of the vacuum of space...Whatever the name of the previously-unknown source of energy that is seemingly tapped by an emerging energy technology, the proof for its existence is multiplying exponentially.

Will the physics books be rewritten before the turn of the century? If small devices are putting out more energy than it takes to run them, then we have to have another look at the scope of the Law of Conservation of Energy. Perhaps a law based on the steam engine needs to be expanded to encompass new inventions. Or maybe the new inventions are not violating the law that says you can't get more out than the amount of energy that goes into a system, because the new inventions are not operating in a closed system because they tap into a previously-unknown sea of energy that surrounds us.

Respected physicists are asking if we can put a new "fire of the gods" to practical work. Emerging evidence says yes, we can tap into the unlimited energy teeming in space all around us.

Picture countless invisible submicroscopic whirlpools in space. Randomly they flicker in and out of view. Physicists describe these movements as a "quantum foam" of incredible levels of power. One scientist says there is enough of this energy in an empty light bulb to boil the world's oceans.

They were prepared to serve as testimony that will stand up in court. They document the fact, both that there are viable new energy technologies which could rid us of our dependence on polluting fossil fuels, and that there have been active efforts in suppressing these. Explosively, these videos reveal names and tactics of this Luddite resistance against scientific progress.

The hypothesis for tapping the zero-point energy (ZPE) arises by combining the theories of the ZPE with the theories of system self-organization. The vacuum polarization of atomic nuclei might allow their synchronous motion to activate a ZPE coherence.

Experimentally observed plasma ion-acoustic anomalies as well as inventions utilizing cycloid ion motions may offer supporting evidence. The suggested experiment of rapidly circulating a charged plasma in a vortex ring might induce a sufficient zero-point energy interaction to manifest a gravitational anomaly. An invention utilizing abrupt E field rotation to create virtual charge exhibits excessive energy output.

# I have been requested (1) to comment on the invention as described and claimed in U. S. Patent No. 5,449,989 and related inventions which involve cold-cathode discharge phenomena, these being the inventions of Paulo N. Correa and Alexandra N. Correa.

On October 17, 1995 Dr. Correa sent me a copy of a third U. S . Patent specification, which has been accepted by the U.S. Patent Office. On January 8, 1996 he sent me a copy of the specification of a 102 page International Patent application ( minus the claims) and I have, on February 5, 1996, received from him a set of claims on pages numbered 103 to 108, which I understand to be the patent claims applicable to cover sought outside USA.

Aetherometry, or the science of Massfree Energy, is the beginning of an interdisciplinary scientific and technological revolution. Only 2 years ago, the idea of extra dimensions inhabited a nebulous region somewhere between physics and science fiction.
Many physicists had already begun to see the up-and-coming string theory as the next major step for theoretical physics. In that theory, everything in the universe is composed of tiny loops, or strings, of energy vibrating in a space-time that has six or seven extra dimensions beyond the seemingly endless three standard dimensions of space and one of time. Conveniently, however, those extra dimensions are compactified, as physicists say, crumpled up in a space so small as to be unobservable.

The mainstream scientific community dismisses the idea of "Free Energy" or "Over-Unity" machines because they say that the behavior of such machines violates the "Second Law of Thermodynamics." The purpose of this article is to squarely face this issue from an alternative science point of view. Many engineers and inventors, working in the alternative energy field, still mistakenly believe that the "Laws of Thermodynamics" are universally true. For them, the "free energy" machine can only be a clever scientific slight of hand where the machine becomes "outlaw", breaking some fundamental universe law. For progress to be made in this field, the limitations and errors inherent in the "Laws of Thermodynamics" must be exposed. Only then will people realize that scientific experimentation is the only reliable tool for revealing the behavior of physical reality.
