KID EXPLORERS: Family-friendly Entertainment and Education [Home page] - ChristianAnswers.Net
Cool math .com - An amusement park of math and more! Math lessons, math games, math practice, math fun!
gives the students the ability to search multiple levels or ages ranges of math all within the same site. You can also use this website to play games and work with finance (money) type problems, and then it also gives lesson plans and worksheets. There is a link for parents, students, and teachers and each one is available to everyone without any passwords or registration. This is nice so that not only the teacher but also for parents to see at home to try and assist their children if they are having problems at home with homework or a problem. When incorporating with the lesson. I would have the students use it to review specific topic or section of the website as a way to enrich what they know already know.
Historyteacher.net
is a site where students can get a chance to review what they know using quizzes that apply to specific areas of the lesson for that week. Students will be able to view movies as well as review for tests, papers, and the general class for the week. The website is full of quizzes that grade as they answer questions. The website allows for multiple answers to be selected in case the first answer is incorrect, this allows for thought and reflection as to why their first answer was incorrect. Also movies and other basic tools are available for students to gain useful information regarding the course. The website is also full of great sources that can be used for writing papers
Biology in Motion
This website has many resources and videos for quick and easy to understand segments related to a wide variety of science topics. I believe that clips could be edited and shown in the classroom for certain topics that I believe are better explained in a video segment. They have a section called “tips for teachers” that gives useful resources. If we have the fortunate ability to have computers in the classroom this site would provide many activities for kids to enjoy in groups or individually. I believe it would be fun for the students which would encourage learning.
Picture History : License Historical Photos; Photographs for Sale; Lincoln and War; American Archives
This website has picture of history broken up in different decades, so students will be able to find pictures easily to put on their timeline. This will also help the students be able to picture the images in their head of what things and people looked like back in the times.
Purplemath
Purplemath's algebra lessons are written with the student in mind. These lessons emphasize the practicalities rather than the technicalities, demonstrating dependable techniques, warning of likely tricks questions, and pointing out common mistakes. The lessons are cross-referenced to help you find related material, and a search box is on every page to help you find what you're looking for.
Lesson Plans For K-12 Teachers
My reasons for choosing this website are based on three simple points. One, it is a website that offers a lot or resources, not only lesson plans but themes, tips, worksheets ect. My second reason for choosing this website is not only does it offer a lot of tools a teacher can use, but it gives other sites-for information as well. For example, if you search Special Education in the tool bar it will give you options where you can read about disorders and disabilities, it also gives you the possibility to join groups such as, Special Education Support Groups. My last reason for choosing this website is because-it is HUGE. This website seems to be endless, in a very great way! It is super easy to maneuver around and figure things out, yet it gives so much information and ideas. It is a great website, I will take lesson plans, ideas, strategies off of the website, so it would be great for a parent or guardian to see what I use as a reference.
