  • 何根寿对本刊说，一条河流经过千万年的发展，演变，逐渐形成了一个大致平衡的系统，其中包括流量、流速、输沙、河势、地下水、地形、地貌、原始地应力、植被、栖息的生物乃至局部的气候和居民的生产、生活方式。修建水电站需要拦河，建坝，抬高了水位，控制泄流。并且时间推移，河流流域原有的平衡将被打破，所有有关因素又将发生错综复杂的变化。
  • 修建水电站会因为拦河回流，将原来奔腾的流水变成静水，导致水温变化，因此可能影响一部分鱼类的生存。而水坝也会导致水流速度变缓，这对一些需要生活在急流中的鱼类不利。更重要的是，“流域中有一部分需要洄游的鱼类，有的鱼类洄游距离在一两百公里，围堰拦河会导致鱼类的洄游之路被截断”。牟广丰告诉本刊记者。
