I have owned several canon cameras from the a310 to the a95 and this one the a630 simply blows them all away. pic quality is excellent, especially when I compare the difference in two same shots between the a95 and the a630. the a630 is sharper,more vivid, and the features and ease of use is outstanding.AA batteries is a plus, I do recommend rechargeable batteries. 8 mp is the way to go. also get at least a 1 gig sd card.

While I love the Canon SD series, I was looking for a camera that used regular AA batteries. I actually bought the Canon A470 on a whim- I saw it at a local store. It was within my budget and I thought it was cute. (I bought the blue one.) So far, I am happy to say that I love this camera. I use it when I dont feel like carrying around my Canon Digital Rebel XTi. The menu and controls are easy to find and use. The pictures that it takes come out very nice! I dont use the flash very often, so the battery life is actually quite swell.

This camera is capable of taking great pictures. But other reviewers were right that using the Auto Mode is not the way to get there. Most pictures will come out better if taken in Program Mode (the middle switch position). Take the time to read what the manual has to say about this mode and customize it to suit your needs. I get good pictures with ISO set to 80 and resolution set to M1. The touch-screen interface works well, but there are manual alternatives for all the functions. Many of the negative reviews posted on this site are unjustified and come from not taking the time to read the manual. Considering the small size, this is one spectacular camera. It can do virtually anything youd want to do.

So far I have taken around 600 pictures with the SX10 and have only one complaint. I am having trouble fine tuning the selecting ring in SCN mode. I turn the dial and nothing moves and then all of a sudden it moves quickly to a selection I dont want and I have to begin again. I am just not in control. However, the 20x zoom exceeded my expectations. I had originally wanted an Canon SLR just to use my measly 200mm zoom from my 35mm film Rebel, but this is much better for me (560mm w stabilization works well). I was also waiting for Canon to up their ISO ratings and by using the 3200 setting I was able to get some nice photos of Hula dancers and hope to do as well with indoor sport pictures. The 28mm wide angle lens is a plus I didnt know I needed until I began using the camera. I was able to properly frame many more single pictures than previously.

the blade it comes with is a complete joke. Before I got the saw I ordered a Forrest WWII blade (thin Kerf) and did a side by side comparison, it was eye-opening. Needless to say the performance of this saw with a quality blade turns it into something on par with a hybrid saw performance.

Overall the features and fence are excellent. Mine was dialed in nicely from the factory, so there wasn't much time spent adjusting anything. The performance of the saw is fantastic, cuts incredibly well and the fence is excellent for a portable saw.
