The White Paper is a 30-page document prepared for the MacArthur Foundation’s Digital Media and Learning Series.     and citizenship. And inevitably these ‘skills’ are framed with both
    eyes squarely on short-term political agendas.
  • Out best learners will be those who can make
    ‘not knowing’ useful, who do not need the blueprint, the template,
    the map, to make a new kind of sense. This is one new disposition that
    academics as teachers need to acquire fast – the disposition to be
    usefully ignorant.

45% Employers use Facebook-Twitter to screen job candidates - Oregon Business News

As social networking grows increasingly pervasive, more employers are utilizing these sites to screen potential employees. Forty-five percent of employers reported in a recent CareerBuilder survey that they use social networking sites to research job candidates, a big jump from 22 percent last year. Another 11 percent plan to start using social networking sites for screening. More than 2,600 hiring managers participated in the survey, which was completed in June 2009.
