Early-rising East Coast users had a bit of trouble getting to Gmail this morning, starting at roughly 3am Pacific Time. I couldn't get into my Gmail or Lifehacker (Google Apps) accounts myself at that time, and Google's confirmed the outage at the Apps Status Dashboard. It lasted only 20 minutes or so, but it's not helping to relieve some angst about rolling outages. Having Offline Gmail enabled, or at least using a locally-backed-up client, is starting to seem like a pretty necessary measure. (Thanks to Joao for the screen grab)
