今週カウプシング・エッジ( Kaupthing Edge ) 銀行は、スイスのリテール・バン キング業界に衝撃的な参入を果たした。同行は、目抜き通りに本店を置くスイスの有名銀行よりもはるかに高い利率を新規のオンライン口座開設者に提供している。オンライン口座開設から今年9月までの利率は4%で、その後今年度末までは3%となる。
来年以降の利率に関してカウプシンング・エッジ銀行は、通常約2.5%のスイス国立銀行のオーバーナイト・レートと同様か、またはそれ以上の利率を約束している。一方スイスの銀行の貯蓄口座の利率は大体1%程度だ。
