Twitter user @faa has created a "Twitter Meishi Generator", or, "TMG", which you can use to create a Twitter business card with your last tweet or bio, a QR code of your URL, in an assortment of delightful colors. Click the image to see an annotated version of this Twitter Tool.
Use OS X's Automator to automatically send Twitter status updates.
Adjix is an URL shortener that uses HTML redirects instead of 302's.

Nice collection of tools to backup your twitter. -- Rick Cogley | How To Backup Your Twitter Account - The issue of backing up data from your Twitter account is becoming more important as people spend considerable amounts of time and effort building a valuable reputation and network of contacts.
How to Backup FriendFeed, Twitter or other RSS Feeds -- Rick Cogley | Using a similar technique to my previous post, we can use an RSS-to-email service like FeedBurner to essentially backup RSS feeds via email. This will give you a pretty-good backup to IMAP, or, by using email-to-blog services, a post of your posts.
Here's how I plan to do this...
Just as the sign says - "twitter hall of shame". Some interesting stuff here. Makes ya think. -- Rick Cogley | From the site: Twitter is a fun Web 2.0 communications tool that allows users to deliver quick messages of 140 characters or less. The hastiness and ephemeral nature of these messages means that Twitter has become more than a communication tool — it's a source of angry, funny and awkward messages that would be sometimes best left unsaid. Whether they're embarrassing or just interesting, these tweets are worth preserving.
Despite the grammar bugs, Twautor is a very interesting tool, that lets you auto-reply and auto-add. Like ping.fm, it's probably best used sparingly. CAREFUL! THIS GOT ME SUSPENDED from TWITTER.
This is a Twitter app built in Adobe AIR, and is very good. Can't search in Japanese (or I bet other multi-byte languages), can't block users. I think Twhirl beats this in several respects.
From the site - "TweetDeck enables users to split their main feed (All Tweets) into topic or group specific columns allowing a broader overview of tweets. The default columns can contain All Tweets from your timeline, @replies directed to you and direct messages. The GROUP, SEARCH and REPLIES buttons then allow the user to make up additional columns populated from the live tweet information. Once created these additional columns will automatically update allowing the user to keep track of a twitter threads far easier."
Despite the unpronounceable name and confusing grammar here and there on the interface, Twautor is a useful service that will get you a lot of followers on Twitter in a short period of time, if that is what you are after. It allows you to do several things...
Interesting social network status updater service. Gotta be careful not to inundate people with your statuses (statii?). I am using it to update Linked.in and Plaxo statuses, and send work-related updates to my ping.fm special posting email address. -- Rick Cogley
From the site: "We post your messages wherever you want!
That's right, we support over 30 social networking sites and we're adding more regularly.
Between our straight forward posting methods and advanced custom triggers, we make it easy for you to post your messages exactly where you want them to go."
Adobe AIR-based Twitter Client Twhirl is awesome. Cross platform.
