some improvements that make sharing your Docs easier while giving you even more control
I've been playing around with digital document annotation on various portable computing devices. Here is an overview of where I am right now…
Share and review/mark up documents online\nMark up, fill out, and collaborate on PDFs, Word documents,\nPowerPoint slides, and web pages... for free!
"If you looking for a good collaborative way to review your documents, try HyLighter collaboration platform. You can think about it as a mini GoogleDocs that focuses on the discussions and reviews from the people you share it with."
"Question: What is the advantage of using a service such as Google Docs? I already have a word processor on my computer, so why would I choose to use an online word processor?" (Techlearning)
"From CMS to online word processors http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Word_processor , there is no dearth of services and tools to help you put your documents online. The latest fad seems to be the online document sharing sites where you can upload and share your documents in their original formats. Below are five of the popular ones, some of which we have covered individually on this site before as well."
Online document review, PDF indexing - share online Word comments, annotations, sticky notes on web pages and annotate documents online.
"I think Google docs is one of the best Web 2.0 tools around. You can create, collaborate and publish documents, spreadsheets and presentations Online. You can access these documents from any browser. Google Presentations even lets your viewer participate in an Online chat while watching your presentation. I've created (using Google docs) several tutorial documents which show how to use some of these tools. Give Google Docs a try. I know you will love it!" (Liz DAvis, edtechpower)
"Few people would argue that Microsoft Word is a versatile program. The problem is that the software may not be the best tool for converting your Word documents to HTML. This is true if you need watch files sizes as it adds code that increases page size. It may also include information you don’t expect. If you need to get your Word content to the web, we’ve got some tips and alternatives." ( Productivity Portfolio)
Calameo is a new service for publishing documents from your computer to the Web. Like Scribd, it's dead simple to use, and will slurp up all sorts of documents of up to 100MB in size. What makes the service noteworthy is that you can take documents online and offline with a click of a button, without removing them entirely--which could be useful to business or education users who want to upload many items, then make them public at a later date. (webware.com)
Drop.io enables you to create simple private exchange points called "drops."
The service has no email signup and no "accounts." Each drop is private, and only as accessible as you choose to deliberately make it. Create multiple drops, add any type of media, and share or subscribe as you want. To make a drop just click the big red button that says 'drop it' (drop.io)
