Forget Kenya, Let’s Talk Scoble-gate!
-
I woke up late this morning, around 10 AM CST or so, and by that time Scoble-gate was already in full swing. I wasn’t scheduled to write at all this morning (as I was primarily packing for a move today), so I got a rare chance to actually consume news for the sake of consuming news. I miss doing that, sometimes, as I tend to consume news these days primarily on the hunt for something to write about.
So I pulled up Google Reader and TechMeme in separate tabs, and checked my close friends’ blogs before I ventured out into web. As such, the story of Scoble and his “privacy and free speech battle” with Facebook hit my cognitive circuits about the same time as a blog post from my good friend Rob Rooker. Rob is a guy I hung out with towards the end of high school and a bit afterwards, before we both struck out and left our home town. I traveled all over the US in search of fame and glory in the tech world. Rob went to Kenya to be a relief worker.
