just found this flash interview documentally did with me at SXSW - it's all a blur now so glad to have a record of it. :)
some interesting stuff but surprisingly i disagree with some of it profoundly
what a clash of two worlds! Never have I realised just how doltish John Humphrys is. Quite a terrifying realisation as he represents the 'respectable' media. My foot. (It's actually worth listening to the interview itself for the tone of the voices...)
great interview with someone who looks to the future, through the past and a smattering of common sense. refreshing. And I completely agree with his final point that we are but scratching the surface of what the internet can do. Provided it doesn't get completely f*** up by governments and business, of course.

The fears that we have around technology are things we’ve been through before. If you look at when the telephone came out, the front page of The New York Times said that people would never leave their home again. When the phonograph came out, there was an article in New York Times with this great line: blessed be the boy of the future who never has to learn how to read. They really believed that that was going to happen. We’re going through the same thing right now with screens.

As more and more devices are in the world that are recording things and documenting, there has to be a way for people to opt out of a recording and say, I don’t want to be a part of that documentation process.
