大学最主要的是要教人思考。学校教育最大的挑战是培养独立思考的能力。我几乎每天都听到人说怎么培养学生的批判性思维能力，以应对一个多变的，信息流通便捷的社会。其实这个critical thinking 能力，翻译为独立思考能力更合适一些。因为你老说批判性思考，人家可能就理解为“批判”，而非“思考”，结果批判的人多了，思考的人反倒少了。独立思考的人，会去省察一个说法的逻辑推理，它背后的假设，它所存在的背景。一个独立思考的人，不会非A即B，而是知道极端之间的过渡，黑白之间的灰暗。一个独立思考的人在作出选择的时候，他会本能地辨微知著，权衡利弊，而不是简单粗暴地进行论断。然而成功的教育还必须培养出色的沟通能力，尤其是在让人思维复杂的同时，能够清晰、简单地表达。
教育的失败，在很大程度上，没有教会人怎么思考，更不要说独立思考；没有教会人如何学习，更不要说终身学习；没有教会人做人，更不要说做杰出的人。

I believe this is partly Google’s fault: they released Wave to geeks and hackers and social media folks first. But Wave is not a geek/hacker tool, or a social media tool, it’s a corporate tool that solves work problems (more on that later). On the other hand, they never claimed it would be a Facebook replacement or a Twitter killer. Google calls wave an “online tool for real-time communication and collaboration”. The way Google should have advertised Wave is: “it solves the problems with email”.

In order to learn, we have to be active. You have to do things; we have to create things. So learning, whether it occurs in the classroom, in a formal situation or informal situation, it involves not only accessing, but remaking, remixing, repurposing, and rewriting learning resources; the creation of learning resources; the redistribution of them.
