nifty little "SideNote" option for jotting down little items you'd like to
combine into a regular note later. Details on OneNote are available
from the
OneNote web site, along with a free evaluation download. The
evaluation
software is identical to the purchased product, but after a time limit goes into
reduced functionality. Microsoft, as with the other Office suite
products, allows two installs of OneNote, meaning you can install both on a
Tablet PC and your desktop. Yes, OneNote is quite excellent on a
desktop PC, too. OneNote offers integration with Outlook 2003, Word,
Excel and Powerpoint, several different importing/copying items including
integration with Pocket PCs and Smartphones, plus reusing outlines or
presentation notes in Word and PowerPoint. Integration also works very
well for research, simply dragging and dropping pictures, text, charts or
other reference information from web sites into OneNote. There is a expanded information on OneNote's capabilities in a demo
tour

and and absolutely awesome 45-minute instructional demo for OneNote
