所谓的私人银行业务，一般指银行向高净值人士（High Net Worth Individuals, 或简为HNWIs）提供的包括投资建议、现有资产增值保值、退休养老计划及财富传承等服务。从国际标准来看，高净值人士可用于投资的资产在5万美元或50万美元以上。在今天的中国，越来越多富人的身家远远超出了上述高净值人士标准。
