"This is a collaborative effort to create a site specifically for parents of K-12 students. We find that parents are often not aware of the educational uses of the Internet, Web 2.0 technologies, and social media. This site is a collaborative effort to help correct this deficiency. It will be run by
volunteer educators and parents who wish to set up online courses, gather resources, and contribute to helping parents understand educational technology better. This project is done in the spirit of open source. "

Instructions for creating a course backup on Moodle. A course can be saved with some or all of its parts by using the course backup. Typically, the site administrator will set a schedule of site wide backup for all courses. A teacher with editing privileges can create a backup or download an existing backup for safe keeping, or for use on another Moodle site.

How big is the problem of “not learning” and/or “lack of student engagement” in our schools? Responses from hundreds of professional educators is telling. The average level of student disengagement (i.e., student behavior exemplifying non-attentiveness, silence, apathy, and/or boredom) as reported by random classroom teachers and building administrators nationally is highest at the high school level (upwards of 90% student disengagement) followed by the middle school environment (somewhere between 40% to 70% disengagement) . The lowest level of disengagement occurred at the elementary level (typically 10% to 40% disengagement).
