Homemade Power Bars and Sports Drinks

Energy bars
This recipe appeared in Bicycling
magazine 2-3 years ago. It's a good alternative to buying energy
bars- these are cheap, easy to make, don't melt in hot weather, and
actually taste pretty good.24 dried figs
1/3 cup honey
4 Tbsp orange juice
2 Tbsp lemon juice
2 1/2 cups unbleached flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp canola oil
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 egg whites (I use egg
substitute)1 cup oat bran
Instructions: mix figs, honey, OJ and
lemon juice in a food processor. Mix all other ingredients seperately
(except oat bran). Combine 2 mixtures, roll into golf ball sized
balls (makes 20-24), coat with oat bran, and bake at 350 deg for
10-15 minutes. Store finished product in the refrigerator.

fundamental electrical and electronic concepts through self-study. The
presentation of this series is not oriented to any specific rating
structure, but is divided into modules containing related information
organized into traditional paths of instruction.

RepRap is short for Replicating Rapid-prototyper. It is the practical self-copying 3D printer shown on the right - a self-replicating machine.
This 3D printer builds the component up in layers of plastic. This technology
already exists, but the cheapest commercial machine would cost you about €30,000. And it isn't even designed so that it can make itself. So what
the RepRap team are doing is to develop and to give away the designs
for a much cheaper machine with the novel capability of being able to
self-copy (material costs are about €400). That way it's
accessible to small communities in the developing world as well as
individuals in the developed world. Following the principles of the Free Software Movement we are distributing the RepRap
machine at no cost to everyone under the GNU General Public Licence. So, if you have
a RepRap machine, you can make another and give it to a friend...
