I tried this and although I can see and edit gcal whilst connected to the internet it doesn’t let me see or edit when I am offline. Am I missing the point or have I missed a step?

Hi Gordon, No, unfortunately you are correct on this one and I jumped the gun by presuming it would cache the calendar data for offline use, which it does not (damn). Maybe this would be an interesting bit of code contribution (if I had them time / skill). I have removed the mention of Offline capability from the article - sorry for getting your hopes up :(

Provider for Google Calendar :: Sunbird Add-ons

  • WOW, need to test.  Discussion shows working with the Sunbird/lightning nightlies!

first commentor wondered about "addon is for 4,1 to 6,1".   Without getting into a discourse on the Sunbird/Lightning version number reasoning, The current released version is 0.3.1 the next released version will be 0.5.0 sometime very, very soon.  The nightly alpha 0.4a1 will be 0.5 when released.  The nightly alpha 0.6a1 will be a future version.  (Sunbird/Lightning ver 0.5 and .06 is kinda like Thunderbird 2.0 and 3.0)

Because the release of the 0.5 version is so close and with the newer improvements, the developer has more or less dropped support for the "current" sonn to be outdated 0.3.1 version!

Does GADYF calendar give you any extra features over plain Google Calendar - Setting up your account & getting started | Google Groups

  • Hey Steve,
We did the same thing at our company.  The good news is that you can
just start sharing the same calendars with your new GAFYD users.

Personally I started by adding my own email address to each of the
calendars.  Be certain to share with the maximum privledges: view, and
    manage sharing.

the next time you login to the gafyd calendar you will see the shared
calendars. when you try to add new users from this interface it goes
much faster because gafyd has access to your user list.

Most of my users had logged into google calendar with normal gmail
accounts, but I had at least 2 users who logged into gcalendar with
their current email address.  I believe I had to delete sharing
privledges and add these users again before they had access from our
    gafyd interface.

Rainlendar - Re:USB Key - Rainlendar2 Forum

  • Re:USB Key

    From the FAQ:
Can I install Rainlendar2 to a USB memory?
Yes, you can. If you use the Windows version the installer can do this automatically for you. You can also just copy everything in the Rainlendar's folder to the USB memory and create an empty text file called rainlendar2.ini in the same folder where the executable is. This will make Rainlendar2 to use it's own folder for the settings and it will also store all the events and tasks to the same folder too.

    From the Help:
Portable installation: By default Rainlendar will store all the settings and events into your home folder (Linux: ~/.rainlendar2/ Windows: C:Documents and Settings{YourName}.rainlendar2. If you want to install Rainlendar e.g. into a USB memory you can just create a empty text file called rainlendar2.ini and put it in the same folder where you installed Rainlendar. Rainlendar will first try to look for the file in it's own folder and if that is found it will use that as its default folder for the settings and events. The installer has also option to do this automatically.
If you want to store the settings to some other folder you can use the --config command line parameter to define the path.

OggSync - Google Calendar to Windows Mobile Device Sync Software » About

  • OggSync stands for Outlook to multiple Google calendar sync.   Also, the term Ogg originates from Ogging.  Ogging is a multiplayer online strategy term used for a coordinated attack usually from multiple angles to eliminate a particular problem or threat. In the case of OggSync, the problem is disconnected and compartmentalized scheduling. There is only one of you, so why do you schedule your life on two (or more) calendars? Most people have a work calendar (Microsoft Outlook and Exchange) and a personal calendar (Google Calendar).

You may have other software that you use, if so, send an email to support@oggsync.com stating which package you use.

OggSync’s mission is to combine both lives into one manageable view! If you are looking at your Outlook calendar, you should see what you have scheduled personally and professionally, so that you can meet commitments in both sides of your life.

Likewise, if you are looking at your Google calendars, you should see your personal events along with any other business commitments you might have.

Please try the 3 day evaluation period, and then register OggSync. Your registration will enable us to improve the software and develop more solutions like this!

CalendarShare

    • CalendarShare for Partners and Secretaries

Share your handheld's calendar with your spouse, your secretary, your colleagues or your friends over the air for a one-time charge. The other party doesn't have to have the same kind of handheld, or even a handheld at all (all that is necessary is a Google Calendar). You can also

      • hide or anonymize some events, e.g. a doctor's appointments with patients
      • view other people's handheld or Google calendars on your handheld, and show or hide them at will
      • import other Google Calendars, such as Holidays or the schedule of your favorite sports team (see this page).
      • import events for your city, e.g. music concerts in your city, and show or hide them at will
  • Google Calendar Sync

You can also use it for a two-way sync to your Google Calendar, and/or for a one-way import from up to 5 Google Calendars.

iCal4j

  • iCal4j is a Java library used to read and
write iCalendar data streams as defined in
    RFC2445.
The iCalendar standard provides a common data format used to store information about
calendar-specific data such as events, appointments, to-do lists, etc.
All of the popular calendaring tools, such as Lotus Notes, Outlook and Apple's iCal
    also support the iCalendar standard.

Providing both a parser and an object model, iCal4j allows
you to either modify existing iCalendar data or create new
data models. Validation is also provided to ensure the
data maintains a state consistent with the specification.
