While their main task is to connect to the Internet to run cloud-based apps, some reviewers have found the Chromebooks to be lacking in power, particularly whena lot of browser windows and tabs are open. While these web apps mostly run off the cloud, some of these applications might require more local processing power, such as animations, videos and dynamic content. Intel’s Atom platform is designed for power-saving, and often chokes in apps that are processor cycle-intensive.
If Google can't use Chrome OS to achieve a much more integrated environment between ultra-mobile devices and traditional notebooks and desktop computers, this may be one for the chopping block
