Apparently, when you use the Disk Utility in Repair Permissions – a standard troubleshooting maneuver in OS X – it doesn’t actually repair the permission settings on folders and files in your Home folder. That’s where your documents and many applications reside. There’s another Repair Permissions tool hidden away in Lion, and Jeff directed me there.

I’ve stopped following them all on Twitter, so I don’t have to keep reading the whining about people not linking back to you, or stealing your stories. If you want to be taken seriously, the first step you should take would be to put a leash on Gurman.

Printing is always a troublesome part of the personal computing experience, but this seems to work.

You may also need to print directly to the printer instead of spooling, which can lead to the last page not being printed completely.
