When we think of online photo sharing, we typically think of sites like Flickr and Picasa where photos are hosted and organized by users. Though these sites definitely serve a purpose in helping us host and share our photos, they don’t do a great job at collectively organizing and displaying photos by content type or subject matter.
Fotopedia, a photo encyclopedia site that launches to the public today, hopes to become the Wikipedia for photos by centralizing the photo experience around user-created topics and subject matters. The sleek web interface is coupled with a desktop application for a community experience on site or off.

ZaidLearn: University Learning = OCW + OER = FREE!
ZaidLearn is back from another non-blogging vacation (Who cares!)! Excellent point! Anyway, before I get back to my wacky 5-part learning series (in 2 weeks time!), I need to settle something urgently, and that is to compile and organize all my University learning related OpenCourseWare (OCW) and Open Educational Resources (OER) links that are scattered here and there, into one smashing post. In short, this post is about smashing all free University learning related OCW and OER resources and collections discovered into an all-in-one (sounds like shampoo!) quick-to-access/find juicy compilation. Hopefully, it will satisfy my thirst for quick access to free University learning related content.
Interestingly, this post will be a dynamic one, meaning that I will continue to update (and revamp!) it as I discover, or others share ideas and recommend new oceans of free knowledge.
Google's Matt Cutts Has Some Words with Bing | WebProNews
Everybody's talking about Bing today since the Microsoft's new search engine became unexpectedly available on a widescale. That includes Google, and more specifically Matt Cutts.

Swoogle is a search engine for the Semantic Web on the Web. Swoogle crawl the World Wide Web for a special class of web documents called Semantic Web documents, which are written in RDF. Currently, it provides the following services to the following services:
- search Semantic Web ontologies
- search Semantic Web instance data\nsearch Semantic Web
terms, i.e., URIs that have been defined as classes and
properties
- provide metadata of Semantic Web documents and support
browsing the Semantic Web. (Please refer to Li Ding et. al.,
- Finding and Ranking Knowledge on the Semantic Web, ISWC'04
for details)
- archive different versions of Semantic Web documents
Currently, Swoogle only indexes some metadata about Semantic Web documents. It neither stores nor searches all triples in an Semantic Web documents as a triple store.
