I’ve written about LinkedIn many times — you merely have to click this LinkedIn blog tag to read my archives. Think of LinkedIn.com as a Chamber of Commerce to Facebook’s after-hours party and MySpace’s all-night rave.

Three months ago, I wrote an article with 10 assumptions on how you use LinkedIn as a professional networking tool, and I included tips for improvement.

Professional social networking site is a particular hit with Londoners

Business networking tool LinkedIn has released new statistics highlighting the huge growth the site has undergone in the UK over the past year.

The site has passed the two million member mark in the UK, and has 500,000 members in the London area alone. This equates to around a third of the estimated 1.5 million professionals living in the capital.

The figures reinforce those from market research firm Nielsen released earlier this week, suggesting that LinkedIn had seen a 137 per cent increase in users in the past year.
