jQuery Enlightenment | by Cody Lindley | 1st Edition | based on jQuery 1.3.2
jQuery Enlightenment was written to express, in short-order, the concepts essential to intermediate and advanced jQuery development. Its purpose is to instill in you, the reader, practices that jQuery developers take as common knowledge. Each chapter contains concepts essential to becoming a seasoned jQuery developer.
This book is intended for three types of readers. The first is someone who has read introductory books on jQuery and is looking for the next logical step. The second type of reader is a JavaScript developer, already versed in another library, now trying to quickly learn jQuery. The third reader is myself, the author. I crafted this book to be used as my own personal reference point for jQuery concepts. This is exactly the type of book I wish every JavaScript library had available.
Recommended Books for your User Experience and Usability Library | UX Booth
In my last article, I gave examples of the key things that I learned from Steve Krug’s great book Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability, 2nd Edition. In that article, I asked people to share key books in their Usability and User Experience libraries. I also asked our Twitter followers and here are what other UXBooth readers had to recommend:
247 web usability guidelines
Although designing usable systems requires far more than simply applying guidelines, guidelines can still make a significant contribution to usability by promoting consistency and good practice. We use this list of guidelines in our consultancy work. For best results, remember to interpret the guideline in context — this requires a bit more thought but ensures you will get a lot more from your review.

SharePoint 2007 – Inline CSS Styles to Customize Pages « SharePoint Sherpa
I am often asked to customize the layout of a page within a SharePoint site as a “one-off” change (one that affects only that page and not the entire SharePoint site). This is typically a request to hide something on the page or to change the attributes of a font on a page, such as hiding the quick launch bar, hide the breadcrumbs or increasing the font on a header. These changes are often small and don’t necessarily require a change to the site master page or style sheet (.css file). One of my favorite tips is to use “inline CSS styles” to apply style changes to a page.
UI-patterns.com
It has long been common practice to use recurring solutions to solve common problems. Such solutions are called design patterns; standard reference points for the experienced user interface designer. This website seeks to better the situation for the UI designer, who struggles with the same problems as many other UI designers have struggled with before him.
This site will help you in two ways: You can read insightful design pattern articles or browse through our screenshot collection.
Finally, you can help your fellow peers by uploading your own screenshots of great user interfaces.

The Woork Handbook
Ok friends... finally a first preview of "The Woork Handbook" is ready to be released. This book is a miscellanea of articles I wrote on my blog in the past year. During the period form January to December 2008 “Woork” has been visited from over 4 millions visitors and I received a lot of requests to distribute a printable version of its contents. In the past days I worked hard to prepare a first version of this handbook and distribute it for free.
» 9 Useful Tools for Analyzing Web Design
We all understand how important it is to know just how site visitors navigate a site, what they click on, where they come from, where they go when they leave the site and similar indicators of behavior. These are the factors on which great Web designs are built.
I’ve pulled together a list of sites I think will help you understand how a Web site looks and works to optimize design and copy. You can also think of these sites as services you can sell to your clients: In your initial pitch provide them with the option of your monitoring their Web site activity. That keeps you in touch with your clients after the initial work is done and you use the site-monitoring results to sell additional design services or updates.

Guide to making SharePoint XHTML Compliant
by Zac Smith, 19-Apr-07, 21 Comments
This is intended as a pretty high level overview of how you can get MOSS to validate against the W3C XHTML 1.0 recommendation. The aim of this article is not to explain every intricate detail of getting a MOSS site to be XHTML compliant. However it should demonstrate some techniques to get people started and eventually develop better methods of achieving compliance.
