Ever wondered why the error “Hash value is not correct. ” is coming while installing Silverlight Tools? This is because, while installing Silverlight Tools, the setup tries to download silverlight developer runtime, ‘Silverlight.2.0_Developer.exe’ from internet. If you have an internet connection, a connection that does not block downloading exe’s then you should not face any problem during the installation. But if you are not connected to internet, or your firewall blocks downloading exe’s, then you will get this error – “Hash value is not correct.”

Lange hat die Nachricht auf sich warten lassen, dass die Infrastrukturupdates (Post SP1 Update) für die Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 und den Offices SharePoint Server 2007 verfügbar sind. Da vor einigen Tagen auch die RTM-Version des SQL Server 2008 veröffentlicht wurde, ist es für mich höchste Zeit, meinen neuen Artikel zum Thema Installation Best Practices fertig zu stellen. In diesem Artikel werde ich beschreiben, wie der Office SharePoint Server 2007 incl. SP1 auf einem Windows Server 2008 und SQL Server 2008 nach Best Practices installiert wird. Neben dem eigentlichen Installationsprozess werde ich auch auf vorbereitende Schritte, die Nomenklatur für Service Accounts und Datenbanknamen, sowie auf die wichtigsten Aufgaben nach der Installation eingehen. Den Artikel werde ich in zwei Teile auf splitten. Der erste Teil beschäftigt sich mit der Installation des SQL Server 2008 und des Office SharePoint Server 2007, wonach ich im zweiten Teil die wichtigsten Konfigurationsschritte nach der Installation beschreiben werde.
