Additional Software for Puppy Linux
Since the Puppy Package Manager doesn't seem to catch nearly everything.
Best-Reviewed Lightweight GNU/Linux Distros
Despite the affordability of hardware currently, I appreciate lean, efficient software and am devoting this post to identifying the best lightweight GNU/Linux distros available today.
Other Lightweight GNU/Linux Distros
Anyone considering using GNU/Linux is immediately struck by the dizzying array of “distros” available. This thread over at the Ubuntu forums has an excellent starting list of lightweight distros worth considering, but many of them are very barebones, outdated, potentially unstable, or simply don’t work as well as one might hope. I narrowed my own list down by applying seven basic standards that any distro I use must meet, as described in this post.
A comparison of four window managers
These all happen to be "lightweight" window managers at that. The author prefers openbox and pekwm.
MiniLinux Listing
A list of linux distros by size, with "best" selection for each group. Clearly Ubuntu-biased, but still useful for its comprehensiveness. Written before PCLinuxOS Minime was released.

Lightweight Linux distributions
Conclusion to a pretty decent review of a half dozen lightweight Linux distros, with TinyMe coming out on top.
ISO Master
I highly recommend this utility. After messing around with Kiso and Acetone for a while and failing to get either to work consistently, I turned to ISO Master. Works like a charm.
MiniMe, a Bite of PCLinuxOS 2008
A solid review of PCLinuxOS Minime.
Puppy Linux 4.00 is barking up the right tree
This is the best of the several Puppy Linux reviews I've read. Puppy Linux is in the running for being the best lightweight linux distro out there. My brother swears by it and uses it as his primary OS.
