  • High Protein Pancakes

Mix 1 cup sifted flour with
3/4 tsp of baking soda and 1/2 tsp of sea
    salt

Beat 4 eggs and add to
    above flour mixture

Mix 8 oz of organic, plain
    yoghurt (preferably Strauss or home-made)
with 1/4 cup water (can also use
orange juice or 1/3 to 1/2 cup apple
sauce). If only water is used than
it is recommended that at least 1
Tbsp of sugar be added for
    sweetness.

    Combine yoghurt mixture
    with flour/egg mixture.

    Preheat large frying pan on
medium heat and add coconut oil. Now pour
pancake mixture into pan and cook.
    Flip pancake as needed.

    I often use applesauce for
the topping or heat applesauce with a small
amount of pure maple syrup for
    flavor. Mashed strawberries or
blueberries can also be used for the topping.

    These pancakes can be
pre-made and frozen so they can quickly be pulled
out of the freezer in the morning
and heated in the toaster for a quick
    pancake
    breakfast.

  • when a person expresses intense anger toward another, what they really are
expressing is their deep fear of inadequacy, a fear of not being good enough.
  • for any relationship to work,
each must own their own dark side, their own faults and insecurities so that
they don’t make the mistake of blaming everyone else around them for their own
weaknesses. Happiness comes from within. There is nothing that another person
can do and there is nothing “out there” that can make one truly happy.

  • Almond
    Milk

    1 cup organic raw
    almonds
    1 tsp. Celtic sea salt

Soak 12 to 24 hours in
filtered water in a glass container. Pour off water. Remove skins by pouring
boiling water over the almonds—the skins should then easily slip off between
    your fingers.

Into a blender put 1 cup
almonds and 1 to 1 1/2 cups water. You may add maple syrup or honey (1 tsp.) to
sweeten. Strain almond milk for a creamier texture.

    Repeat process with
    remaining almonds.

    Can add coconut oil, cod
liver oil and a banana to make a smoothie.

  • Young Children, especially less than 7 years of age, really can read our
thoughts and are barometers for our own soul moods
  • I attended a lecture on
parenting the young child and heard from the speaker about the importance of
holding good thoughts because a young child had the ability to sense thoughts. I
remember coming home that night not really believing this idea, but I liked the
parenting image I was given at the talk. If you are the parent of a teenager or
a toddler, then hold the image of a stone in a stream. You have to hold steady
like the stone and let the water of emotions flow around you without dislodging
you, carrying you away, or knocking you off balance. I woke up very early that
next morning and meditated on this picture. My son then woke up and walked
downstairs and climbed up into my lap. I hugged him but said nothing. He then
looked at me and said, "Mommy let's play firefighter by the stone in the stream"
(my son had never used the words stone or stream in his whole life).

Welcome to YouandYourChildsHealth.org

  • I knew that drinking lots of apple juice wasn't good for toddlers because they
often filled up on juice, and they wouldn't be hungry for meals, thereby missing
vital food substances (proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, etc). What I didn't
realize was that drinking juice was like drinking concentrated sugar and could
potentially deplete the body of valuable vitamins and minerals in a manner
similar to eating lots of candy or drinking lots of soda.
  • For example, when a child eats an orange, it does so slowly, and receives
minerals and vitamins within the orange itself that help it process the sugar.
