Is it over for RSS readers? - FriendFeed
-
My Google Reader is for me. It's for information that I don't necessarily need to share with others (like MLBTraderumors.com) or various other feeds that are in my industry (footwear). I use it for catching up on the things I know interest me. FF is like going to the local pub and catching up on the random silliness, tech news, etc that I may or may not be exposed to in my own personal day to day business. They serve two separate but sometimes overlapping needs..... - George Smith
Too many social networks? Get it together with FriendFeed. Works great on my iPhone.

If you do any social networking with your friends or colleagues online, then
you know what a pain it is to check all the sites to monitor their activity. You
have to go to each site, sign into your account, check the updates. This gets
more and more tedious as you connect with more people using different social
networks. You’ve got friends on YouTube, and some are on Facebook, your
colleagues are on LinkedIn, he uses Digg, she uses Flickr, you get the idea.
It’s getting to be a big distraction just to keep up, and your CPA (constant
partial attention) is getting stretched to its limit.

Companies like FriendFeed — and there seem to be a growing number of them these days — are trying to solve a problem that the Internet itself created. The proliferating number of blogs, user-generated content services and online news sources has created a dense information jungle that no human could machete his or her way through in a lifetime, let alone in an afternoon of surreptitious procrastination at work.

Last month, bowing to the appeal of feed services, Facebook began to let users share their activities on other sites, like the photo services Flickr and Picasa, and the review site Yelp. The company says it plans to continue to link more Web sites to the social network.
