interesting idea for spelling game.. but this would get annoying fast. Great visuals.. but no real reason to be spinning the wheel here. And no keyboard input. And only one feedback "great".

i've only tried out one level.. but this seemed interesting and worth another look (Houghton Mifflin Spelling and Vocabulary).. shipwreck / diving theme, highly visual.
The Hero Factory (make your super-hero avatar)
i've used this in literacy classes a couple of times.. a great whole-body avatar generator (for a super-hero version of you).. not so easy to get a likeness, but lots of fun. There used to be a random button, but not in this re-make.

i like the free dictionary.. even though the site is covered with advertisements, it's good quality.. here's the idiom section. i was looking for idioms relating to the Hat.. and i found plenty.

Here's a fun and bizarre story.. you don't expect the cute animal story to have a literacy focus.. but this one does. Someone is training dogs to listen while children read. The important thing is, the dog won't laugh when the child makes a mistake.

Wow! This site is well-constructed.. using many bundles of data to create visuals (charts, maps etc) against factors like fertility, population, miltary spending.. all on a global scale. Great for numeracy i would say..
