Free Online MIT Course Materials |Audio/Video Courses | MIT OpenCourseWare
Content index for Free MIT Video & Audio Lectures, Demonstrations, Simulations, Tutorials from MIT professors. | MIT OpenCourseWare | ocw.mit.edu \n\n
This is an excellent site full of interesting digital content. I would especially recommend the audio recordings, of which there are many on a variety of topics, issues, and subjects. I listened to a remarkable voice cast about race in America which was very well structured as well as deeply personal to the original creator of the piece. You can search this site very easily by courses in departments, and most of the traditional disciplines are represented to varying degrees. One word of warning - this is quite a high-brow intellectual collection of materials, so it would best serve teachers of high school and college level students. But there are core materials that can be accessed and used as the basis of teaching content for younger students. It would take a little adjustment, but this is a site well worth visiting.
genre:educational - Google Videos
This is a great site providing access to hidden google videos. This particular section deals with educational videos, ans it has something for everyone. Unfortunately, the videos do not appear in any particular order as they are mostly hosted by google video, Youtube, 56.com, and ustreamtv. Still, the range of video materials is impressive - I even found a video file of 'Do Schools Kill Creativity?' On another Wilkes course, I studied the transcript of this lecture in detail, and made it available to colleagues on the course. It was very apt for 'Using Technology to Support Creativity.' However, there are many, many more videos here that can be used by educators. The subject matter in these videos ranges from learning the English language to politics to geology to physics (Radioactivity!) and on and on et al. It's a great place for teachers to find materials for students, but it's also a fascinating place for teachers to continue their own learning. Highly recommended!
