Second Life Outsider art show seen a success
"Winn's talk tied the artwork exhibited in Second Life to the concept of an artwork's “aura,” as first discussed by Walter Benjamin in the 1930s. “As mechanical reproduction of art became more prevalent, Benjamin noted that something unique is lost if you only know an artwork through its reproduction. Reacting to the Past
“Reacting to the Past” (RTTP) consists of elaborate games, set in the past, in which students are assigned roles informed by classic texts in the history of ideas. As the tour arrives at key areas, text appears on the screen explaining the section and how it is used.
