  • When setting up Typepad using the File > Manage Blogs > New to start the wizard, here are some tips on how to fill out some of the fields. 
      
     For the web address just use the base URL: eg. yoursite.typepad.com (leaving off the trailing /yoursite/ that appears in content links) 
      
     For the weblog type, choose "Movable Type" 
      
     For the Entry Point, delete what is there and enter: www.typepad.com/t/api 
      
     For the Login name, use the Member Name that appears in the Control Panel, and your member password (the one you log into the CP with, not one you may have on a particular blog) 
      
     When you use the Get Blog Id button, it should return to you a number that is the blog id. 
      
     I had no problems at all with the Categories or the Image upload, so those should work fine.

  • Nachdem ich letzte Woche dreimal in meinem privaten Umfeld erklären sollte, was denn so toll an diesem RSS ist, und warum das denn so praktisch sei, will ich das hier auch nochmal zusammenfassen. Die technische Seite von RSS lasse ich weitestgehend außen vor - sie spielt für den User kaum eine Rolle. Am Ende des Beitrages finden sich noch ein paar Grudlagen, aber zunächst ein Beispiel aus der Praxis.

  • If you aren’t familiar with Illustrator’s extremely handy “Pathfinder” palette, you might sit down for a few moments to play with it, because it is a true time saver, and an excellent tool for manipulating paths. First, of all let me say that “Pathfinder” is a horrible name for this palette. It doesn’t actually “find” paths. It makes it easy to combine paths, divide objects, subtract shapes, etc.
