- A few years ago, Hilton Kramer and I commissioned a series of essays for The New Criterion on the illiberal underside of liberalism.
- We later published revised versions of the essays under the title The Betrayal of Liberalism: How the Disciples of Freedom and Equality Helped Foster the Illiberal Politics of Coercion and Control.
- I mention this now not only to help readers out with their last-minute Christmas shopping but also to highlight the message of our subtitle: “How the Disciples of Freedom and Equality Helped Foster the Illiberal Politics of Coercion and Control.”
- It is one of the underappreciated ironies of our age, I believe, that many who call themselves “liberals” habitually support policies that are distinctly illiberal — often, indeed, are downright coercive — in their effect.
- A proper anatomy of this phenomenon would take a book.
- It might start with Jean-Jacques Rousseau, whose deficient sense of the reality of other people could never compete with the satisfaction he took in contemplating his own virtue.
- And it might end with the revolutionary health care bill now wending its way through the U.S. Congress.
- Of course, the people touting the bill say — perhaps they even believe — that it will be good for Americans and that it will save money.
- Critics (of whom I am one) say that it will be a catastrophically expensive suite of legislation that will limit choice, impede medical innovation, and degrade the quality and timely delivery of medical care.
- Like any ambitious piece of legislation, however, the bill to restructure American health care raises issues that go far beyond its primary purpose. The President touched on this obliquely in his “precipice” gaffe: we are, he said, “on the precipice of achievement . . . that will touch the lives of nearly every American.”
- “Precipice,” “threshold,” whatever: he is right, anyway, that if the current bill becomes law it “will touch the lives of nearly every American.”
- How will it “touch” us? Let me count the ways.
- Colloquially, first of all, as when we speak of “touching” someone for money. (What easy touches we have all turned out to be!)
- To appreciate one central way in which the bill will touch our lives, consider “Impermissible Ratemaking in Health-Insurance Reform: Why the Reid Bill is Unconstitutional,” the somber essay the eminent legal scholar Richard Epstein has written.
- But it will touch us in other ways as well.
- (It appears on the web site of PointofLaw.com, but like so much important commentary these days, I came across it here, at Instapundit.)
- If you read nothing else this holiday season, read this. It is not cheering, exactly, but it is, after its fashion, bracing.
- For it not only makes good on its subtitle, explaining “Why the Reid Bill is Unconstitutional,” it also lays bare the coercive heart of the bill.
- Really, the whole essay is worth reading, but here are a couple of snippets to set your heart beating:
- On the one hand, the Reid Bill depends on a combination of huge general tax increases, which is coupled with special levies on industries such as medical-device and pharmaceutical companies.
- These tax revenues are then used to fund subsidies for large segments of the population in order to allow them to purchase qualified health-care plans that are sold through a set of State Exchanges that the Reid Bill creates.
- In order to prevent these subsidies from flowing through to the various health-insurance issuers, the Reid Bill imposes extensive obligations on any health-insurance issuer or health-plan provider that wishes to participate within the system in order to keep them from capturing subsidies meant for others.
- The effect of the subsidies is to increase the level of health care that will be demanded in the United States.
- The effect of the regulations is likely to be to impose huge costs on various health-insurance companies as they struggle to meet the influx of demand when they are at the outer limit of their capacity.
- My view is that it will prove ruinous on all three fronts. The general public tax increases will be so sharp that it is unlikely that they will generate additional revenues.
- There are at this point enormous uncertainties about how this entire scheme will play out.
- The subsidies will be so large that the demand for medical services will be left largely unsatisfied, so two consequences are likely.
- First, an increased queuing for various health care services is to be expected.
- Second, there will be increased pressure to exclude large groups of people from the system, on the lines of Massachusetts’s recent decision to cut from its system 31,000 legal immigrant aliens (who pay taxes but do not vote).

  title is a powerful statement by Pat Caddell, a Democrat, and a Senior
  Advisor to the Carter Administration, that he made on Fox News, 12-8-09.
- Caddell also stated that “Americans feel that the future is slipping
  away from their children, that they’re losing the future.
- The
  politicians don’t care (what the people want), they think the
  American people are sheep that they can run over, and that’s the
  issue that is going to be tested. They have nothing but contempt for
  the very people they are supposed to represent in the greatest nation
  on earth”.
- Mr. Caddell further stated (not his exact words) that
  never in his long lifetime had he ever seen such a large majority of
  Americans from both parties united in anger and opposition to elected
  officials. My observation is the same.
- Mr.
  Caddell is a brave man and a true patriot because he knows that the
  Marxist usurpers in our government will not tolerate peaceful dissent
  of any kind.

- President Obama has dispatched a delegation this week to The Hague to explore issues involving the United States' possible participation in the International Criminal Court,
- an organization critics charge could be used to prosecute Americans under international legal standards for actions that are not crimes in the U.S.
- Andy Laney of the U.S. State Department confirmed the delegation is comprised of members of the State Department as well as the Defense Department.
- He said they were dispatched on a weeklong trip because of U.S. concerns over how "aggression" is defined internationally.
- "There is an interagency party, half from the State Department, half from the Defense Department, there to engage other delegations on matters of U.S. interest and specifically over our concerns on the definition of the crime of aggression," he said.
- Critics, however, warn that they believe former U.S. war crimes prosecutor Ambassador Stephen Rapp is on a trip that involves more than just the definition of a word.
- "The Obama administration would like the U.S. to be a party to the court," said Brett Schaefer, an international regulatory expert with the Heritage Foundation.

- "The Obama administration would like to establish closer ties with the ICC if it turns out the U.S. can join the court.
- The objective here is to address the major objections to the U.S. joining the court," he said.

- The court was introduced to the U.S. when President Bill Clinton signed the Rome Statute in 1998.
- But President George W. Bush pulled the U.S. out in 2003 over concerns that the ICC might prosecute American soldiers for war-crime charges coming from the U.S. campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.
- The concern was that the ICC doesn't recognize many of the U.S. Constitution's provisions protecting defendants in criminal trials, such as the right to a trial by jury and protections against double jeopardy.
- "Mr. Rapp is there to find out if (the 108) member states are interested in amending the document to address U.S. concerns. Ambassador Rapp is there to learn how substantial the barriers to the U.S. joining the court actually are."

- Laney admitted it was a change in U.S. direction that prompted the trip.

- Since coming into office, President Obama says he wants the U.S. to join and Secretary of State Clinton says it's unfortunate that the U.S. is not a part of the ICC," Schaefer said.
- "Ambassador Rapp says he wants the U.S. to join the ICC.
- "The previous administration in its early years sought to amend the treaty to alleviate U.S. concerns ... the treaty would intrude on U.S. policy and its obligations overseas," Schaefer said. "That effort failed. So, the Bush Administration in 2003 sent a letter to the Secretary General of the U.N. saying it no longer considered itself bound to the jurisdiction of the ICC."
- Schaefer said the process as it now is set up presents dangers.
- "Israel took action in Gaza earlier this year to attack Hamas and knock out the Hamas rocket launchers in the Gaza Strip," he said. "Israel took enormous cautionary measures to prevent civilian casualties.
- Even though Israel and the Palestinian Authority are not signatory members of the ICC, the ICC is still investigating the Israeli military to see if they can prosecute members of the Israeli Army for war crimes."
- Mathew Staver, lead attorney for Liberty Counsel and dean of Liberty University Law School, said U.S. membership in the ICC would be a mistake.
- The U.S. stands to have its citizens being prosecuted by the international court in The Hague and have its citizens come under the world court's jurisdiction," he said.
- "This administration is globalist and transnationalist and wants to bring this country into the global system.
- Schaefer confirmed Staver's fears.
- "Supposing the U.S. engages in a military action and that action results in civilian casualties. We do an investigation of the matter and find no guilty party. If we are a member of the court, if we are a party to the Rome Statute, the ICC at that point has the opportunity to second-guess us," he said.
- "They may be able to use evidence and they may be able to pursue routes of trial that would not be portable in the U.S. because of the different standards established in the U.S. legal system and the rules set forth in the Rome Statute."
- His warning is that the ICC could, "in essence … come and prosecute U.S. citizens, U.S. soldiers, U.S. officials for actions the U.S. deems entirely lawful."

- EDMONDS: Yes. Some of those individuals on the list were also working for the RAND Corporation. RAND ended up becoming one of the prime targets for these foreign agents.
- GIRALDI: RAND does highly classified research for the U.S. government. So they were setting up these people for recruitment as agents or as agents of influence?
- EDMONDS: Yes, and the RAND sources would be paid peanuts compared to what the information was worth when it was sold if it was not immediately useful for Turkey or Israel.
- They also had sources who were working in some midwestern Air Force bases.

- The sources would provide the information on CD’s and DVD’s.
- In one case, for example, a Turkish military attaché got the disc and discovered that it was something really important, so he offered it to the Pakistani ISI person at the embassy, but the price was too high. Then a Turkish contact in Chicago said he knew two Saudi businessmen in Detroit who would be very interested in this information, and they would pay the price. So the Turkish military attaché flew to Detroit with his assistant to make the sale.
- GIRALDI: We know Grossman was receiving money for services.
- EDMONDS: Yes. Sometimes he would give money to the people who were working with him, identified in phone calls on a first-name basis, whether it’s a John or a Joe.
- He also took care of some other people, including his contact at the New York Times.
- Grossman would brag, “We just fax to our people at the New York Times. They print it under their names.”
- GIRALDI: Did Feith and Perle receive any money that you know of?
  
  EDMONDS: No.
- GIRALDI: So they were doing favors for other reasons. Both Feith and Perle were lobbyists for Turkey and also were involved with Israel on defense contracts, including some for Northrop Grumman, which Feith represented in Israel.
- EDMONDS: They had arrangements with various companies, some of them members of the American Turkish Council. They had arrangements with Kissinger’s group, with Northrop Grumman, with former secretary of state James Baker’s group, and also with former national security adviser Brent Scowcroft.
- They were discussing with the Turkish ambassador in Washington an arrangement whereby the U.S. would invade Iraq and divide the country.
- The monitoring of the Turks picked up contacts with Feith, Wolfowitz, and Perle in the summer of 2001, four months before 9/11.
- The UK would take the south, the rest would go to the U.S.
- They were negotiating what Turkey required in exchange for allowing an attack from Turkish soil. The Turks were very supportive, but wanted a three-part division of Iraq to include their own occupation of the Kurdish region.
- The three Defense Department officials said that would be more than they could agree to, but they continued daily communications to the ambassador and his defense attaché in an attempt to convince them to help.
- Meanwhile Scowcroft, who was also the chairman of the American Turkish Council, Baker, Richard Armitage, and Grossman began negotiating separately for a possible Turkish protectorate. Nothing was decided, and then 9/11 took place.
- Scowcroft was all for invading Iraq in 2001 and even wrote a paper for the Pentagon explaining why the Turkish northern front would be essential. I know Scowcroft came off as a hero to some for saying he was against the war, but he was very much for it until his client’s conditions were not met by the Bush administration.
- GIRALDI: Armitage was deputy secretary of state at the time Scowcroft and Baker were running their own consulting firms that were doing business with Turkey. Grossman had just become undersecretary, third in the State hierarchy behind Armitage.
- You’ve previouly alluded to efforts by Grossman, as well as high-ranking officials at the Pentagon, to place Ph.D. students. Can you describe that in more detail?
- EDMONDS: The seeding operation started before Marc Grossman arrived at the State Department. The Turkish agents had a network of Turkish professors in various universities with access to government information.
- Their top source was a Turkish-born professor of nuclear physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was useful because MIT would place a bunch of Ph.D. or graduate-level students in various nuclear facilities like Sandia or Los Alamos, and some of them were able to work for the Air Force.
- He would provide the list of Ph.D. students who should get these positions. In some cases, the Turkish military attaché would ask that certain students be placed in important positions.
- And they were not necessarily all Turkish, but the ones they selected had struck deals with the Turkish agents to provide information in return for money.
- If for some reason they had difficulty getting a secuity clearance, Grossman would ensure that the State Department would arrange to clear them.
- In exchange for the information that these students would provide, they would be paid $4,000 or $5,000. And the information that was sold to the two Saudis in Detroit went for something like $350,000 or $400,000.
- You’ve named people like former House Speaker Dennis Hastert, now a registered agent of the Turkish government.
- GIRALDI: This corruption wasn’t confined to the State Department and the Pentagon—it infected Congress as well.
- In your deposition, you describe the process of breaking foreign-originated contributions into small units, $200 or less, so that the source didn’t have to be reported. Was this the primary means of influencing congressmen, or did foreign agents exploit vulnerabilities to get what they wanted using something like blackmail?
- EDMONDS: In early 1997, because of the information that the FBI was getting on the Turkish diplomatic community, the Justice Department had already started to investigate several Republican congressmen.
- The number-one congressman involved with the Turkish community, both in terms of providing information and doing favors, was Bob Livingston. Number-two after him was Dan Burton, and then he became number-one until Hastert became the speaker of the House.
- Bill Clinton’s attorney general, Janet Reno, was briefed on the investigations, and since they were Republicans, she authorized that they be continued.
- Well, as the FBI developed more information, Tom Lantos was added to this list, and then they got a lot on Douglas Feith and Richard Perle and Marc Grossman.
- At this point, the Justice Department said they wanted the FBI to only focus on Congress, leaving the executive branch people out of it. But the FBI agents involved wanted to continue pursuing Perle and Feith because the Israeli Embassy was also connected. Then the Monica Lewinsky scandal erupted, and everything was placed on the back burner.
- In 1999, they wiretapped the congressmen directly. (Prior to that point they were getting all their information secondhand through FISA, as their primary targets were foreigners.)
- But some of the agents continued to investigate the congressional connection.
- The questionably legal wiretap gave the perfect excuse to the Justice Department. As soon as they found out, they refused permission to monitor the congressmen and Grossman as primary targets.

- So a Turkish agent struck up a relationship with her. When Jan Schakowsky’s mother died, the Turkish woman went to the funeral, hoping to exploit her vulnerability. They later were intimate in Schakowsky’s townhouse, which had been set up with recording devices and hidden cameras.

- I don’t know if Congresswoman Schakowsky ever was actually blackmailed or did anything for the Turkish woman.
- GIRALDI: So we have a pattern of corruption starting with government officials providing information to foreigners and helping them make contact with other Americans who had valuable information.
- Some of these officials, like Marc Grossman, were receiving money directly. Others were receiving business favors: Pentagon associates like Doug Feith and Richard Perle had interests in Israel and Turkey.
- The stolen information was being sold, and the money that was being generated was used to corrupt certain congressmen to influence policy and provide still more information—in many cases information related to nuclear technology.
- EDMONDS: As well as weapons technology, conventional weapons technology, and Pentagon policy-related information.
- GIRALDI: You also have information on al-Qaeda, specifically al-Qaeda in Central Asia and Bosnia. You were privy to conversations that suggested the CIA was supporting al-Qaeda in central Asia and the Balkans, training people to get money, get weapons, and this contact continued until 9/11…
- EDMONDS: I don’t know if it was CIA. There were certain forces in the U.S. government who worked with the Turkish paramilitary groups, including Abdullah Çatli’s group, Fethullah Gülen.
- GIRALDI: Well, that could be either Joint Special Operations Command or CIA.
  
  EDMONDS: Maybe in a lot of cases when they said State Department, they meant CIA?
  
  GIRALDI: When they said State Department, they probably meant CIA.
- EDMONDS: Okay. So these conversations, between 1997 and 2001, had to do with a Central Asia operation that involved bin Laden.
- Not once did anybody use the word “al-Qaeda.” It was always “mujahideen,” always “bin Laden” and, in fact, not “bin Laden” but “bin Ladens” plural.
- There were several bin Ladens who were going on private jets to Azerbaijan and Tajikistan. The Turkish ambassador in Azerbaijan worked with them.
- There were bin Ladens, with the help of Pakistanis or Saudis, under our management.
- Marc Grossman was leading it, 100 percent, bringing people from East Turkestan into Kyrgyzstan, from Kyrgyzstan to Azerbaijan, from Azerbaijan some of them were being channeled to Chechnya, some of them were being channeled to Bosnia.
- From Turkey, they were putting all these bin Ladens on NATO planes. People and weapons went one way, drugs came back.
- GIRALDI: Was the U.S. government aware of this circular deal?
  
  EDMONDS: 100 percent.
- A lot of the drugs were going to Belgium with NATO planes. After that, they went to the UK, and a lot came to the U.S. via military planes to distribution centers in Chicago and Paterson, New Jersey.
- Turkish diplomats who would never be searched were coming with suitcases of heroin.
- GIRALDI: And, of course, none of this has been investigated. What do you think the chances are that the Obama administration will try to end this criminal activity?
- EDMONDS: Well, even during Obama’s presidential campaign, I did not buy into his slogan of “change” being promoted by the media and, unfortunately, by the naïve blogosphere.
- First of all, Obama’s record as a senator, short as it was, spoke clearly. For all those changes that he was promising, he had done nothing.
- In fact, he had taken the opposite position, whether it was regarding the NSA’s wiretapping or the issue of national-security whistleblowers. We whistleblowers had written to his Senate office. He never responded, even though he was on the relevant committees. (end)
- Our questions regarding Edmonds and the extent of what her charges mean are several:
- 1.
  How can an FBI investigation of this scope be ended so quickly without any information reaching the public? We have come to believe that everything is leaked? How is such control maintained?
- 2.
  When a story like this is broken, why is there no followup investigation by the FBI, Congress or any attempt by investigative reporters, outside a few, to tell the American people the truth?
- 3.
  Why has President Obama kept the same repressive and illegal policies in place that were used by the Bush administration?
- We are well beyond conspiracy theory. With the ability of our government to silence this story, which undermines the official versions of nearly everything from 9/11 to the most basic aspects of our national security, can any version of anything, investigated or not, commissions or not, ever be taken as more than part of the real conspiracy behind the conspiracies?
- We have long accepted that our government was for sale to the highest bidder and that our press sold its soul after 9/11 for the privilege of being fed lies and continual access to more of the same. Anyone breaking with the crowd was cut off, denied access and pushed out.
- Everyone working to stifle open government, end challenges to government power and continue down this path is a part of this conspiracy.
- A government operating in secret is, in itself, a conspiracy.
- They are working against, not only the idea of democracy, but against the lives of everyone living in America.

- If a story threatens to break, debunkers, agents of the cabal, jump on it immediately.
- 2. Debunkers also join any investigation but lead it to the "Twilight Zone." Every legitimate story is dumped on the door of "Zionists" or space aliens by this type of debunker. They take plausible attacks on government lies and poison them with insane speculation in order to discredit anyone asking for a legitimate investigation.
- Our military forces have become a prime recruiting ground for the corporate cabal.
- Today, as usual, America is divided and moving toward a period of domestic discord and even home grow terrorism.

- Keynote speaker Lord Christopher Monckton, former science adviser to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, gave a scathing and lengthy presentation, complete with detailed charts, graphs, facts, and figures which culminated in the utter decimation of both the pop culture concept of global warming and the credible threat of any significant anthropomorphic climate change.

- If credible, the concern Monckton speaks to may well prove the single most important issue facing the American nation, bigger than health care, bigger than cap and trade, and worth every citizen’s focused attention.
- Here were Monckton’s closing remarks, as dictated from my audio recording:
- At [the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference in] Copenhagen, this December, weeks away, a treaty will be signed. Your president will sign it. Most of the third world countries will sign it, because they think they’re going to get money out of it. Most of the left-wing regime from the European Union will rubber stamp it. Virtually nobody won’t sign it.
- The word “government” actually appears as the first of three purposes of the new entity.
- I read that treaty. And what it says is this, that a world government is going to be created.
- The second purpose is the transfer of wealth from the countries of the West to third world countries, in satisfication of what is called, coyly, “climate debt” – because we’ve been burning CO2 and they haven’t.

- How many of you think that the word “election” or “democracy” or “vote” or “ballot” occurs anywhere in the 200 pages of that treaty? Quite right, it doesn’t appear once.
- So, at last, the communists who piled out of the Berlin Wall and into the environmental movement, who took over Greenpeace so that my friends who funded it left within a year, because [the communists] captured it –
- Now the apotheosis as at hand. They are about to impose a communist world government on the world. You have a president who has very strong sympathies with that point of view. He’s going to sign it. He’ll sign anything. He’s a Nobel Peace Prize [winner]; of course he’ll sign it.

- So, thank you, America. You were the beacon of freedom to the world. It is a privilege merely to stand on this soil of freedom while it is still free. But, in the next few weeks, unless you stop it, your president will sign your freedom, your democracy, and your humanity away forever.
- I’ve read the treaty. I’ve seen this stuff about [world] government and climate debt and enforcement. They are going to do this to you whether you like it or not.
- And neither you nor any subsequent government you may elect will have any power whatsoever to take it back. That is how serious it is.
- But I think it is here, here in your great nation, which I so love and I so admire – it is here that perhaps, at this eleventh hour, at the fifty-ninth minute and fifty-ninth second, you will rise up and you will stop your president from signing that dreadful treaty, that purposeless treaty. For there is no problem with climate and, even if there were, an economic treaty does nothing to [help] it.
- So I end by saying to you the words that Winston Churchill addressed to your president in the darkest hour before the dawn of freedom in the Second World War. He quoted from your great poet Longfellow:

- Lord Monckton received a standing ovation and took a series of questions from members of the audience. Among those questions were these relevent to the forthcoming Copenhagen treaty:
- Question: The current administration and the Democratic majority in Congress has shown little regard for the will of the people. They’re trying to pass a serious government agenda, and serious taxation and burdens on future generations. And there seems to be little to stop them. How do you propose we stop Obama from doing this, because I see no way to stop him from signing anything in Copenhagen. I believe that’s his agenda and he’ll do it.
- I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty.
- There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people. Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty. If they go to www.wattsupwiththat.com, they will find (if they look carefully enough) a copy of that treaty, because I arranged for it to be posted there not so long ago.
- Let them read it, and let the press tell the people that their democracy is about to be taken away for no good purpose, at least [with] no scientific basis [in reference to climate change]. Tell the press to say this. Tell the press to say that, even if there is a problem [with climate change], you don’t want your democracy taken away. It really is as simple as that.
- Question: Is it really irrevocable if that treaty is signed? Suppose it’s signed by someone who does not have the authority, as I – I have some, a high degree of skepticism that we do have a valid president there because I -
  
  I know at least one judge who shares your opinion, sir, yes.
  
  I don’t believe it until I see it. … Would [Obama's potential illegitimacy as president] give us a reasonable cause to nullify whatever treaty that he does sign as president?
- I would be very careful not to rely on things like that. Although there is a certain amount of doubt whether or not he was born in Hawaii, my fear is it would be very difficult to prove he wasn’t born in Hawaii and therefore we might not be able to get anywhere with that. Besides, once he’s signed that treaty, whether or not he signed it validly, once he’s signed it and ratified it – your Senate ratifies it – you’re bound by it.
- But I will say one thing; they know, in the White House, that they won’t be able to get the 67 votes in the Senate, the two-thirds majority that your Constitution has stipulated must be achieved in order to ratify a treaty of this kind.
- However, what they’ve worked out is this – and they actually let it slip during the election campaign, which is how I know about it. They plan to enact that Copenhagen treaty into legislation by a simple majority of both houses. That they can do. But the virtue of that – and here you have a point – is that is, thank God, reversible. So I want you to pray tonight, and pray hard for your Senate that they utterly refuse to ratify the [new] Treaty of Copenhagen, because if they refuse to ratify it and [Obama] has to push it through as domestic legislation, you can repeal it.
- Regardless of whether global warming is taking place or caused to any degree by human activity, we do not want a global government empowered to tax Americans without elected representation or anything analogous to constitutional protections.
- The Founding Fathers would roll over in their graves if they knew their progeny allowed a foreign power such authority, effectively undoing their every effort in an act of Anti-American Revolution. If that is our imminent course, we need to put all else on hold and focus on stopping it. If American sovereignty is ceded, all other debate is irrelevant.

  Skimming through the treaty, I came across verification of Monckton’s assessment of the new entity’s purpose:
- 38. The scheme for the new institutional arrangement under the Convention will be based on three basic pillars: government; facilitative mechanism; and financial mechanism, and the basic organization of which will include the following:

  (a) The government will be ruled by the COP with the support of a new subsidiary body on adaptation, and of an Executive Board responsible for the management of the new funds and the related facilitative processes and bodies. The current Convention secretariat will operate as such, as appropriate.
- To Redistribute Wealth (heading added)
  
  b) The Convention’s financial mechanism will include a multilateral climate change fund including five windows: (a) an Adaptation window, (b) a Compensation window, to address loss and damage from climate change impacts [read: the "climate debt" Monckton refers to], including insurance, rehabilitation and compensatory components, © a Technology window; (d) a Mitigation window; and (e) a REDD window, to support a multi-phases process for positive forest incentives relating to REDD actions.

  their criminal actions against the American People and must realize

  against him and his associates, including most Officials and of course
  the Elite Super Rich Families who for the first time in history will

- Next we will proceed to do everything possible
  to defeat every traitorous member of congress so we can impeach those
  we did not defeat.
- We will fire or impeach every single corrupt judge
  at every level; especially those who refused us access to the judicial
  system to settle the issue of Obama’s qualifications and those
  who allowed Obama to unconstitutionally nationalize private corporations
  while rewarding his Union supporters at the expense of others during
  bankruptcy proceedings.
- “To
  provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the laws of The union,
  suppress Insurrections and repel Invasions;” The preceding is
  a direct quotation from the Constitution of the United States and requires
  the cooperation of only one state government.
- This is not the established
  National Guard. The Militia has the specific constitutional responsibilities
  as indicated, and should be able to arrest and prosecute traitors without
  interference from military or police units unless those units were willing
  to commit treason.
- This Militia is not independent and takes orders
  from the state.
- Our military could have demanded proof from Obama ;
  but they chose instead to punish subordinates who demanded proof.
- Our
  top military officers are a disgrace with a total lack of testicular
  fortitude. Unlike the military, the Militia will not take orders from
  an unlawful pretender President.

  Parties are great, but home delivery of your Contempt is more Effective.
- As Ron Ewart said, you must show our Traitors the great depth of your
  contempt and loathing, up close and personal, where they cannot ignore
  reality. This also means the legal picketing of homes and offices of
  government and media officials using the same tactics that Acorn used
  on the Bankers resulting in the economic meltdown.

  in 1985, I wrote an article on Brzezinski for The Intercollegiate Review.
- Before citing some of the more relevant passages of that article, it should
  be borne in mind that Brzezinski, a political scientist, served as President
  Jimmy Carter’s national security adviser.
- One does not have to read
  Carter’s Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid to know that Carter is an
  anti-Semite. Brzezinski has earned the same reputation.
- Not
  only has Brzezinski publicly defended the anti-Semitic canard that the
  relationship between America and Israel is the result of Jewish pressure,
  but he also signed a letter demanding dialogue with Hamas, whose charter
  calls for Israel’s destruction.
- It behooves us to understand the
  mentality of Obama’s Middle East adviser.
- Long
  before he became Mr. Carter’s national security adviser, Brzezinski
  rejected what he and most political scientists term the “black-and-white”
  image of the American and Soviet political systems.
- “This image,”
  he says, “is held by traditional anti-Communists.” Brzezinski
  thus affirmed he is not quite an anti-Communist. In fact, he deplores
  anti-Communism as “a relic of the Cold War, of the age of ideology.”
- Not
  only did Brzezinski reject the “black-and-white” image of
  the American and Soviet forms of government, he rejects the very notion
  of good and bad regimes!
- Brzezinski is simply a moral or cultural (or
  historical) relativist, and relativism has certainly modulated Barack
  Obama’s mentality.
- The
  influence of political scientists like Brzezinski is wide and deep.
- His
  relativism prompts him to negotiate with and appease terrorist regimes.
- With Brzezinski as his adviser, Obama will be more disposed to appease
  Iran and betray America’s allies, above all Israel.
- Since
  Brzezinski is a relativist, he denies the existence of objective or trans-historical
  standards for determining whether the way of life of one nation, group,
  or individual is morally superior to that of another.
- (The members of
  the UN General Assembly must be pleased to hear this, despite the UN’s
  notorious record of condemning Israel without having ever condemned an
  Islamic state.)
- Brzezinski’s
  relativism also makes him a “weather-vane” political scientist.
- Working in a pluralistic and egalitarian
  country like America—a secular society—he conveniently adopts
  tolerance as his operational principle on the one hand, and equality as
  his primary value on the other.
- He turns with the winds of power.
- He is quite at home with the moral equivalency
  that has shaped US foreign policy toward Israel and Islamic dictatorships.
- Brzezinski
  views history through the lens of Marxism, which, despite its atheism,
  has much in common with Islam.
- Both Communism and Islam are universalistic
  ideologies that reject the idea of the nation-state.
- Both do not regard
  adherence to treaties between nations as obligatory.
- Both Communism and
  Islam are militaristic and expansionist creeds that do not recognize international
  borders.
- Brzezinski’s globalism is evident in Jimmy Carter. Under
  Brzezinski’s influence, Carter lowered the defense budget and pursued
  a soft line toward the Soviet Union. Obama is pursuing a very soft line
  toward Islam.
- His book Between
  Two Ages: America’s Role in the Technetronic Era, declares that
  “With the splitting and eclipse of Christianity man began to worship
  a new deity: the nation. The nation became a mystical object claiming
  man’s love and loyalty. The nation-state along with the doctrine
  of national sovereignty fragmented humanity. It could not provide a rational
  framework within which the relations between nations could develop.”
- As a
  crypto-Marxist, Brzezinski deplores the nation-state.
- Brzezinski sees the nation-state as having only partly increased man’s
  social consciousness and only partially alleviated the human condition.
- “That
  is why Marxism,” he contends, “represents a further vital
  and creative stage in the maturing and man’s universal vision.”
- Marxism, he says, “was the most powerful doctrine for generating
  a universal and secular human consciousness.”
- Embodied in the Soviet
  Union, however, Communism became the dogma of a party and, under Stalin,
  “was wedded to Russian nationalism.”
- Although
  Brzezinski poses as a humanist, he makes a most inhumane statement by
  saying that: “although Stalinism may have been a needless tragedy,
  for both the Russian people and Communism as an ideal, there is the intellectually
  tantalizing possibility that for the world at large it was … a blessing
  in disguise.”
- Brzezinski could as readily say: “Yes, Muslims
  slaughtered more than 200 million people, but Islam brought hundreds of
  Christian, Jewish, Zoroastrian, Hindu, and Buddhist communities under
  a single universal vision, that of the Quran”!!!
- Brzezinski,
  a self-professed secularist, is an internationalist whose moral relativism
  contradicts the moral law or natural rights doctrine of America’s
  Declaration of Independence.
- His relativism and internationalism contradict
  the teachings of the America’s Founding Fathers, who endowed the
  United States with a national identity and character, the same that animated
  Abraham Lincoln.
- To put it more bluntly: Brzezinski’s political
  mentality — like that of countless other American academics —
  is anti-American.
- An Obama-Brzezinski axis has revolutionary significance.
  It may accelerate the de-Americanization and decline of the United States.

  just as well-funded," Obama told a Colorado Springs audience.
- The comments that were ignored by the vast majority of
  the corporate media but were found to be troubling by some independent
  journalists who compared the idea to the formation of the Nazi Hitler
  Youth.
- Fears of "youth brigades" or civilian Stasi
  style units increased following Obama's appointment of Rahm Emanuel to
  chief-of staff.
- In his book, "The Plan: Big Ideas for America,"
  Emanuel writes: "It's time for a real Patriot Act that brings out
  the patriot in all of us. We propose universal civilian service for every
  young American. Under this plan, all Americans between the ages of 18
  and 25 will be asked to serve their country by going through three months
  of basic training, civil defense preparation and community service."
- The book also notes, "Some Republicans will squeal
  about individual freedom, ruling out any likelihood that they would let
  people opt out of universal citizen service."
- Emanuel is also an enthusiastic supporter of the United
  States Public Service Academy Act, a lobbying group founded in 2006 in
  order to promote the foundation of an American public service academy
  modeled on the military academies - a youth corps whose students would
  be trained in "civilian internship in the armed forces". (1)
- My guess is that these Oh-so-patriotic eyes and ears
  of the New Society will be responsible for rounding up those of us that
  fail to agree with the one-world-view of Obamanation Inc.
- What makes any
  real country successful is the multiplicity of views that strengthens
  societies because it offers real choices, as it challenges those hide-bound
  theories that cannot stand the light of open debate, in the marketplace
  of free ideas.
- Watching the performance in the 'Joint-Session of Congress'
  the other night I was reminded of trained seals responding very much as
  the old Kremlin did under the authority of the old USSR.
- Americans scoffed
  at their phony demonstrations and their vast parades denouncing the USA
  etc., etc. But as I watched the trained-seals in Congress, applauding
  vociferously on cue, I could not help but wonder what happened to any
  other point of view?

- Most Americans have never heard of Sibel Edmonds, and if the U.S. government has its way, they never will. The former FBI translator turned whistleblower tells a chilling story of corruption at Washington’s highest levels—sale of nuclear secrets, shielding of terrorist suspects, illegal arms transfers, narcotics trafficking, money laundering, espionage.
- And if she is to be believed, a treasonous plot to embed moles in American military and nuclear installations and pass sensitive intelligence to Israeli, Pakistani, and Turkish sources was facilitated by figures in the upper echelons of the State and Defense Departments.
- She may be a first-rate fabulist, but Edmonds’s account is full of dates, places, and names.
- Her charges could be easily confirmed or dismissed if classified government documents were made available to investigators.
- But Congress has refused to act, and the Justice Department has shrouded Edmonds’s case in the state-secrets privilege, a rarely used measure so sweeping that it precludes even a closed hearing attended only by officials with top-secret security clearances.
- According to the Department of Justice, such an investigation “could reasonably be expected to cause serious damage to the foreign policy and national security of the United States.”
- After five years of thwarted legal challenges and fruitless attempts to launch a congressional investigation, Sibel Edmonds is telling her story, though her defiance could land her in jail.
- After reading its November piece about Louai al-Sakka, an al-Qaeda terrorist who trained 9/11 hijackers in Turkey, Edmonds approached the Sunday Times of London. On Jan. 6, the Times, a Murdoch-owned paper that does not normally encourage exposés damaging to the Bush administration, featured a long article.
- The news quickly spread around the world, with follow-ups appearing in Israel, Europe, India, Pakistan, Turkey, and Japan—but not in the United States.
- Edmonds is an ethnic Azerbaijani, born in Iran.
- She lived there and in Turkey until 1988, when she emigrated to the United States, where she received degrees in criminal justice and psychology from George Washington University.
- She worked in the 400-person translations section of the Washington office, reviewing a backlog of material dating back to 1997 and participating in operations directed against several Turkish front groups, most notably the American Turkish Council.
- Nine days after 9/11, Edmonds took a job at the FBI as a Turkish and Farsi translator.
- The ATC, founded in 1994 and modeled on the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, was intended to promote Turkish interests in Congress and in other public forums. Edmonds refers to ATC and AIPAC as “sister organizations.”
- The group’s founders include a number of prominent Americans involved in the Israel-Turkey relationship, notably Henry Kissinger, Brent Scowcroft, Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, and former congressman Stephen Solarz.
- Perle and Feith had earlier been registered lobbyists for Turkey through Feith’s company, International Advisors Inc.
- The FBI was interested in ATC because it suspected that the group derived at least some of its income from drug trafficking, Turkey being the source of 90 percent of the heroin that reaches Europe, and because of reports that it had given congressmen illegal contributions or bribes.
- Moreover, as Edmonds told the Times, the Turks have “often acted as a conduit for the Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan’s spy agency, because they were less likely to attract attention.”
- Over nearly six months, Edmonds listened with increasing unease to hundreds of intercepted phone calls between Turkish, Pakistani, Israeli, and American officials.
- When she voiced concerns about the processing of this intelligence—among other irregularities, one of the other translators maintained a friendship with one of the FBI’s “high value” targets—she was threatened.
- After exhausting all appeals through her own chain of command, Edmonds approached the two Department of Justice agencies with oversight of the FBI and sent faxes to Sens. Chuck Grassley and Patrick Leahy on the Judiciary Committee.
- The next day, she was called in for a polygraph. According to a DOJ inspector general’s report, the test found that “she was not deceptive in her answers.”
- But two weeks later, Edmonds was fired; her home computer was seized; her family in Turkey was visited by police and threatened with arrest if they did not submit to questioning about an unspecified “intelligence matter.”
- When Edmonds’s attorney filed suit to obtain the documents related to her firing, Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft imposed the state-secrets gag order.
- Since then, she has been subjected to another federal order, which not only silenced her, but retroactively classified the statements she eventually made before the Senate Judiciary Committee and the 9/11 Commission.
- Charismatic and articulate, the 37-year-old Edmonds has deftly worked the system to get as much of her story out as possible, on one occasion turning to French television to produce a documentary entitled “Kill the Messenger.”
- Passionate in her convictions, she has sometimes alienated her own supporters and ridden roughshod over critics who questioned her assumptions. But despite her shortcomings in making her case and the legitimate criticism that she may be overreaching in some of her conclusions, Edmonds comes across as credible.
- Her claims are specific, fact-based, and can be documented in detail. There is presumably an existing FBI file that could demonstrate the accuracy of many of her charges.
- Her allegations are not insignificant. Edmonds claims that Marc Grossman—ambassador to Turkey from 1994-97 and undersecretary of state for political affairs from 2001-05—was a person of interest to the FBI and had his phone tapped by the Bureau in 2001 and 2002
- In the third-highest position at State, Grossman wielded considerable power personally and within the Washington bureaucracy. He had access to classified information of the highest sensitivity from the CIA, NSA, and Pentagon, in addition to his own State Department.
- On one occasion, Grossman was reportedly recorded making arrangements to pick up a cash bribe of $15,000 from an ATC contact.
- The FBI also intercepted related phone conversations between the Turkish Embassy and the Pakistani Embassy that revealed sensitive U.S. government information was being sold to the highest bidder.
- Grossman, who emphatically denies Edmonds’s charges, is currently vice chairman of the Cohen Group, founded by Clinton defense secretary William Cohen, where he reportedly earns a seven-figure salary, much of it coming from representing Turkey.
- After 9/11, Grossman reportedly intervened with the FBI to halt the interrogation of four Turkish and Pakistani operatives.
- According to Edmonds, Grossman was called by a Turkish contact who told him that the men had to be released before they told what they knew. Grossman said that he would take care of it and, per Edmonds, the men were released and allowed to leave the country.

- Edmonds also claims that Grossman was instrumental in seeding Turkish and Israeli Ph.D. students into major American research labs by godfathering visas and enabling security clearances.
- She says that she reviewed transcripts in which the moles in the U.S. military and academic community involved in nuclear technology reportedly carried out several “transactions” involving the sale of nuclear material or information relating to nuclear programs every month, with Pakistan being a primary buyer.
- In the summer of 2000, the FBI recorded a meeting between a Turkish official and two Saudi businessmen in Detroit in which nuclear information stolen from an Air Force base in Alabama was offered: “We have a package and we’re going to sell it for $250,000,” the wiretap allegedly recorded. “The network appeared to be obtaining information from every nuclear agency in the United States,” Edmonds told the Times.
- She further reports that beginning in 1999, the FBI was investigating senior Pentagon officials who were assisting agents of foreign governments, including Turkey and Israel.
- Edmonds has not publicly named names at the Pentagon, but a website linked to her appears to be a non-incriminating instrument for identifying suspects without doing so directly. Its “rogues gallery” includes photos of Richard Perle and Douglas Feith.
- Perle was chief of the Pentagon’s prestigious Defense Policy Board when Edmonds was working at the FBI, and Feith was undersecretary of defense for policy.
- If either were being investigated, it would be a matter of record, as would any reasons for dropping the investigation. “If you made public all the information that the FBI have on this case, you will see very high-level people going through criminal trials,” Edmonds told the Times.

- She claims to have also learned that corrupt officials in the Turkish and Israeli Ministries of Defense falsified end-user certificates on weapons purchased in the United States to enable sales to third countries not allowed access to the technology.
- Principal recipients include the five “Stans” in central Asia—Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan.
- Furthermore, Edmonds says that former House speaker Dennis Hastert and at least two other congressmen were investigated as suspected recipients of illegal political contributions or even bribes from Turkish sources.
- Her website gallery includes photos of Congressmen Roy Blount, Dan Burton, and Tom Lantos, though she has not otherwise implicated any of the three directly.
- A low-level contractor might seem poorly positioned to expose major breaches of national security, but the FBI translators’ pool, riddled with corruption and nepotism, was key to keeping these secrets from surfacing.
- Edmonds’s claims that the section was infiltrated by translators who should never have received security clearances and who were deliberately failing to translate incriminating material are supported by the Justice Department inspector general investigation and by an FBI internal investigation, which concluded that she had been fired after making “valid complaints.”
- One translator, Melek Can Dickerson, who had worked for three Turkish front organizations under investigation—she failed to reveal this when applying for employment—allegedly stamped many documents of interest “not pertinent,” removed classified documents from FBI premises, and forged signatures on classified documents relating to 9/11 detainees.
- An Urdu translator was the daughter of a Pakistani Embassy employee who worked for Gen. Mahmoud Ahmad, the head of the Pakistani intelligence service who is accused of authorizing a $100,000 wire transfer to Mohammed Atta’s Dubai bank account immediately before 9/11.
- The Justice Department IG report confirmed Edmonds’s charge that translators’ section managers issued a go-slow order shortly after the terrorist attacks to create an artificial backlog that would justify an increase in budget and manpower. Those managers are reportedly still in place. Some have been promoted.
- There have been frequent reports of FBI field agents being frustrated by the premature closure of cases dealing with foreign spying, particularly when those cases involve Israel, and the State Department has frequently intervened to shut down investigations based on “sensitive foreign diplomatic relations.”
- Edmonds’s revelations have attracted corroboration in the form of anonymous letters apparently written by FBI employees.
- One such anonymous letter, the veracity of which cannot be determined, cites transcripts of wiretaps involving Marc Grossman and a Turkish Embassy official between August and December 2001, described above, in which Grossman warned the Turk that Brewster Jennings was a CIA cover company.
- If the allegation can be documented from FBI files, the exposure of the Agency cover mechanism took place long before journalist Robert Novak outed the company in his column on Valerie Plame in 2003.
- The anonymous informant conveniently provides the FBI file number containing the transcripts of the recorded conversations: FBI Washington Field Office, Counterintelligence Division, Turkish Unit File 203A-WF-210023.
- According to the source, the FBI also recorded a subsequent conversation in which a Turkish official contacted the Pakistani Embassy to inform an ISI officer of Grossman’s warning.
- The FBI also reportedly informed the CIA of the Grossman conversations to determine if there was any “conflict of interest,” presumably to determine if the CIA was running its own operation that might be compromised as a result of the phone tap.
- Curiously, the states-secrets gag order binding Edmonds, while put in place by DOJ in 2002, was not requested by the FBI but by the State Department and Pentagon—which employed individuals she identified as being involved in criminal activities.
- If her allegations are frivolous, that order would scarcely seem necessary. It would have been much simpler for the government to marginalize her by demonstrating that she was poorly informed or speculating about matters outside her competency.
- Under the Bush administration, the security gag order has been invoked to cover up incompetence or illegality, not to protect national security.
- It has recently been used to conceal the illegal wiretaps of the warrantless surveillance program, the allegations of torture and the CIA’s rendition program, and to shield the telecom industry for its collaboration in illegal eavesdropping.
- Both Senators Grassley and Leahy, a Republican and a Democrat, who interviewed her at length in 2002, attest to Edmonds’s believability.
- The Department of Justice inspector general investigation into her claims about the translations unit and an internal FBI review confirmed most of her allegations.
- Former FBI senior counterintelligence officer John Cole has independently confirmed her report of the presence of Pakistani intelligence service penetrations within the FBI translators’ pool.
- Edmonds wasn’t angling to become a media darling. She would have preferred to testify under oath before a congressional committee that could offer legal protection and subpoena documents and witnesses to support her case. She claims that a number of FBI agents would be willing to testify, though she has not named them.
- Prior to 2006, Congressman Henry Waxman of the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee promised Edmonds that if the Democrats gained control of Congress, he would order hearings into her charges.
- But following the Democratic sweep, he has been less forthcoming, failing to schedule hearings, refusing to take Edmonds’s calls, and recently stonewalling all inquiries into the matter.
- It is generally believed that Waxman, a strong supporter of Israel, is nervous about exposing an Israeli lobby role in the corruption that Edmonds describes. It is also suspected that Waxman fears that the revelations might open a Pandora’s box, damaging Republicans and Democrats alike.
- Edmonds’s critics maintain that she saw only a small part of the picture in a highly compartmentalized working environment, that she was privy to only a fragment of a large operation to penetrate and disrupt the groups that have been stealing U.S. weapons technology. She could not have known operational details of what the FBI was doing and why.
- That criticism is serious and must be addressed. If Edmonds was indeed seeing only part of a counterintelligence sting operation to entrap a nuclear network like that of A.Q. Khan, the government could now reveal as much in general terms, since any operation that might have been running in 2002 has long since wound down.
- Regarding her access to operational information, Edmonds’s critics clearly do not understand the intimate relationship that develops between FBI and CIA officers and their translators.
- Operations run against a foreign target in languages other than English require an intensive collaboration between field officers and translators. The translators are invariably brought into the loop because it is up to them to guide the officers seeking to understand what the target, who frequently is double talking or attempting to conceal his meaning, is actually saying.
- That said, it should be conceded that Edmonds might sometimes have seen only a piece of the story, and those claims based on her own interpretation should be regarded with caution.
- Another objection is that Edmonds would only have seen “raw intelligence” that does not provide nuance and does not really indicate whether someone is guilty.
- That argument has merit, and it is undeniable that many intercepted communications lack context. But it ignores the fact that someone recorded in the act of taking a bribe or interceding to have a suspect in a criminal investigation released is behaving with a certain transparency.
- One either takes money or does not. There is very little interpretation that can change that reality.
- Sibel Edmonds makes a number of accusations about specific criminal behavior that appear to be extraordinary but are credible enough to warrant official investigation.
- It’s true that she probably knows only part of the story, but if that part is correct, Congress and the Justice Department should have no higher priority. Nothing deserves more attention than the possibility of ongoing national-security failures and the proliferation of nuclear weapons with the connivance of corrupt senior government officials.
- Her allegations are documentable: an existing FBI file should determine whether they are accurate.

  Week” (Feb. 15, 2009) indicated we should consider the possibility
  of nationalizing banks.

  in case you think this crisis happened accidentally, just consider the
  fact that “the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) waived
  the 12 to 1 leverage ratios for the five biggest investment banks. Those
  banks then leveraged 40 to 1 and collapsed the worldwide financial system”
  (January 5, 2009 Financial Sense editorial by James Quinn of
  the Wharton Business School).

  what the disastrous results of going from 12 to 1 leveraging to 40 to
  1 would be?
- When these banks started taking losses, Quinn has also pointed
  out, their capital was immediately wiped out and the problem was dumped
  in the taxpayers’ laps.]

  previous columns, I’ve mentioned the secret Nazi plan described
  in American official Sumner Welles’ The Time for Decision
  (1944).
- It was a plan (for a Nazi loss in WWII) which would come to
  fruition two generations later.
- It included Nazi agents going underground
  into two successive countries to avoid detection (Paul Dickopf went
  underground into Switzerland in 1942). These agents would eventually
  rise to positions of power in those second nations.
- Welles
  must have learned of this secret plan when he was on friendly terms
  with the Nazi leadership long before the U.S. entered WWII.
- A Google
  search of “sumner welles portraits” shows a photograph of
  Welles and Hermann Goering on March 19, 1940.
- But why almost two years
  before the U.S. entered WWII would the Nazis plan for a loss? And why
  after WWII was there never an investigation of this secret plan?
- Robert
  Ludlum in his fictional The Apocalypse Watch referred to “The
  Brotherhood of the Watch” a global neo-Nazi secret organization
  formed in the days after the Third Reich’s defeat and exposed
  about 50 years later.
- As
  I’ve written before, Hitler’s rise and demise were facilitated
  by the PE.
- In the same year (1942) the Nazi agent Paul Dickoff went
  underground into Switzerland and the U.S. was already in the war, “Standard
  Oil of New Jersey managers shipped the enemy’s fuel through neutral
  Switzerland and the enemy was shipping Allied fuel.
- The Chase Bank in
  Nazi-occupied Paris after Pearl Harbor was doing millions of dollars
  worth of business with the enemy with the full knowledge of the heard
  office in Manhattan.
- Ford trucks were being built for the German occupation
  troops in France with authorization from Dearborn, Michigan.
- Col. Sosthenes
  Behn, head of ITT, flew from New York to Madrid to Berne during the
  war to help improve Hitler’s communications systems and improve
  the robot bombs that devastated London.
- And ITT built the Focke-Wulfs
  that dropped bombs on British and American troops.” (Charles Higham’s

- As
  I’ve also written before, I.G. Farben’s war industries (e.g.
  chemicals, rubber, etc.) staffed and directed Hitler’s intelligence
  section and ran the Nazi slave labor camps.
- So why at the end of WWII
  were 87% of Farben’s industries still intact?
- At
  the end of the war, U.S. Justice Department attorney James Stewart Martin
  (author of All Honorable Men, 1950) went to Germany to sort
  out the relationship of American and German businesses during the war,
  but he was thwarted in his efforts, saying: “We had not been stopped
  in Germany by German businesses. We had been stopped in Germany by American
  business.
- The forces that stopped us had operated from the United States
  but had not operated in the open.
- We were not stopped by a law of Congress,
  by an Executive Order of the President, or even by a change of policy
  approved by the president…. In short, whatever it was that stopped
  us was not ‘the government.’
- But it clearly had command
  of channels through which the government normally operates.
- The relative
  powerlessness of government… is of course not new…. National
  governments have stood on the sidelines while bigger operators arranged
  the world’s affairs.”
- Relevant to this, it’s important
  to remember that the PE is NOT the government of any country, but the
  PE’s agents are IN the governments of countries.
- In
  order to explain what the PE was doing, it is important to look at how
  they operate, and John J. McCloy as an agent of the PE is a useful example
  of this regard.
- In the 1930s, PE agent McCloy’s law firm of Cravath,
  de Gersdorff, Swaine & Wood were attorneys for I.G. Farben.
- This
  is perhaps one reason McCloy sat in Hitler’s box at the 1936 Olympics
  in Berlin (because the PE is neither right nor left politically, McCloy
  in late July 1961 went swimming with Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev
  in the Black Sea).
- On
  October 29 of the same year (1936), American Ambassador to Germany William
  E. Dodd wrote to President Wilson’s chief advisor Col. Edward
  M. House expressing his surprise and wonder that “in spite of
  all the debts and all the huge losses since the great war, more than
  a hundred of our greater corporations have subsidiaries here and are
  of course involved in a great deal of the acute business which goes
  on.
- At the same time no corporation can take profits out of the country,
  although some I am told earn as much as half a million dollars a year….
- Yet a great many of these corporations are supplying the means for rearmament,
  actually supplying arms. It’s strange to me that they are willing
  to risk the property of their stockholders in such a way.”
- Four
  years later, Skull & Bones member Henry Stimson went to Washington
  to become President Franklin Roosevelt’s Secretary of War, and
  he brought McCloy with him as Assistant Secretary of War.
- To demonstrate
  the importance of McCloy, Stimson would later question “whether
  anyone in the Administration ever acted without having a word with McCloy.”
- McCloy’s
  lawfirm had as one of its clients the Rockefeller family, and during
  WWII McCloy was a senior member of John D. Rockefeller III’s intelligence
  group, the State-War-Navy Coordinating Committee (SWNCC).
- With this
  background, McCloy established the highly secret U.S. Army’s Psychological
  Warfare Division at the time of D-Day in 1944.
- It was also during this
  time from 1940 to 1946 that American Thomas Harrington McKittrick (an
  associate of J.P. Morgan Banking) was president of the Nazi-controlled
  Bank for International Settlements (BIS) where $378 million of the Nazis’
  looted gold had been sent.

The Achaemenid Kings and their Satraps were constantly involved in organising campaigns either to expand their empire or to fight in its defence. In doing so they showed themslves to be highly organised and capable of thorough planning in mobilising vast and hetergoneous forces.

- Preparation
- In preparation for a campaign, the Persians would send heralds to each of the cities or towns to demand earth and water as a sign of submission.
- In this way they gained a feeling for the attitudes of the people and began to develop a network of supporters and spies.
- At the same time, requests were sent to the various parts of the empire for troops, provisions, ships and animals to be assembled or built.
- Preparations could involve specialised tasks such as the bulding of seige engines as used against Miletus or the construction of specialised horse tranports ordered by Darius when planning the campaign against Greece.
- The Persians were also prepared to undertake major engineering tasks.
- These included Cyrus diverting the river before his attack on Babylon, Darius organising the cutting of a canal to bypass the dangerous currents around Mt Athos and Xerxes bridging of the Hellespont.
- Syllogoi
- Once the necessary preparations were completed, which could take years, the troops would be directed to assemble at appropriate mustering points. These assembly or mustering points were called syllogoi by the Greeks.
- They were large plains with ample water supplies to provide for the large numbers of men and animals which may be camped for weeks or possibly months at a time.
- Traditional mustering points included the plain east of Sardis, which was used during the Ionian revolt and Xerxes' invasion of Greece.
- Palestine was used as a mustering point for campaigns against Egypt
- while Susa, the Persian capital, was a mustering point for the Scythian campaign and for other campaigns in the eastern part of the empire.
- On Route
- Herodotus (7:41) described Xerxes and the Persian army leaving Sardis en route to the Hellespont. In contrast to the ordered march formations of the elite Persian infantry and cavalry units, he describes the rest of the army following in a "miscellaneous mass".
- The lack of march disciple that allowed all the troops to be intermingled did not continue for long. After crossing the Hellespont and reaching Doriscus in Thrace, Xerxes began counting and organising his troops into separate divisions.
- Herodotus (7:60) describes the process as follows.
  "The counting was done by first packing ten thousand men as close together as they could stand and drawing a circle around them on the ground; they were dismissed, and a fence, about navel-high, was contructed round the circle; finally other troops were marched into the area enclosed and dismissed in their turn, until the whole army had been counted. After counting, the army was reorganised in divisions according to nationality".
- Some historians suggest the Persians were characterised by lack of order and disciple en route but there is no real evidence to support this.
- Xerxes did however wait until he had reached the borders of the empire before organising his troops.
  
  What is evident about the Persians is the amount of baggage they required.
- Baggage Train
- The Persian baggage trains were noted for being particularly large.
- With the basic military supplies, servants, blacksmiths, armourers, servants and priests, they were no different from the other armies of the period.
- It was inclusion of large amounts of luxuries which characterised Persian armies. Which included ornate furniture, gold and silver baths, cups and bowls. The elite regiment of "Immortals were allowed to bring their women in covered carriages on campaign and even had their own personal food supplies, separate from the rest of the army.
- Tents full of gold and silver furniture and substantial treasuries were captured after several recorded battles. These large treasuries were used to buy the support of the various nations when other means of persuasion had failed.
- The baggage itself was carried in wagons pulled by oxen and mules, and on the backs of by pack animals such as donkeys and camels.
- Why use force when sublety will do?
- Even with 60,000 men, seiges could take several months to complete and as with Naxos, might still end in failure.
- The Persians, with their vast resources of manpower, did not rely solely on force or threat to subdue their enemies.
- So even before the troops had assembled, the Persian agents were working within the cities to bribe or entice revolt or betrayal.
- When Datis and Artaphernes beseiged Eretria the city was betrayed after only a week. The signal from the polished shield at Marathon was believed to indicate that the agents at Athens were ready to betray the city.
- During the Persian seige of the town of Potidaea, Artabazus communicated with his agent, Timoxenus, inside the town by messages that were attached to arrows shot into a predetermined area. Unfortunately an arrow accidently hit a defender and the message was discovered.
- Seige Warfare
- Persians used various engineering and assault techniques when besieging a city.
- These could include simple methods such as the building of earth ramparts against a wall until it reached a sufficent height
- A direct assault might be carried out only with ladders, but other seiges required much more preparation.
- more skilled operations such as under mining of the outer walls. In this case, teams of diggers would tunnel under the walls and use timber supports while the digging was in progress. When enough earth and rock had been removed the timber framework was set on fire and the walls would collapse under their own weight.
- More specialised seige engines were also used on occasions. The use and knowledge of rams and towers were learnt from people such as Assyrians.
- The techniques used throughout the seige would depend on factors such as size of the army, the position and size of the city and its walls and also the features of the surrounding area such as available timber, water and the soil the city was built on.

  Yeah, if you believe in the bible, the Amero, one world currency, one world government, etc. yeah our financial system will crash, usher in the Amero, usher in the real ID act. All like sheep and cattle off to the slaughter. More 9/11's will happen until we have lost every liberty we hold dear in the name of security, and the people will beg the government for more tax refunds, food stamps, etc. While 1 out of 5 people is unemployed. And people think our hope is in this world? Nope

  My husband and I were just talking about how they would use the economic woes as a means of pushing the Amero. It's frightening how much gets shoved through without the major populations' approval, that is, if they're aware of it in the first place. That in itself is so disheartening. How, many of us are totally clueless as to how screwed we are if this runaway train isn't derailed immediately.
