Limeuil, it has been suggested, was a school for artists, not only for sketchers but painters as well:
-
In another grotto close by, a bone tube still filled with paint ready to be blown against the cavern wall was unearthed, as was a stone palette thick with ochre waiting to be applied with a small brush.

-
Art was not only taught, but artistic ideas were conveyed from one place to another, sometimes over a considerable distance.
-
In 1903, a wall painting of a stately old bison drawn with great individuality was found in the cavern of Font-de-Gaume in the Dordogne. Twenty-three years later, a stone slate was uncovered in another cave 188 miles away, bearing a sketch of the old bison.
Someone had admired the Font-de-Gaume painting, copied it on stone, and had taken it home to keep as a memento, or perhaps to use as a model himself. -
Likewise, the prancing horse of Le Portel in the Pyrenees has almost the same details and shading marks as the horse of Ekain, over 330 miles away in the Basque country.
-
A wolf and deer combination was also a favorite motif that enjoyed a widespread popularity among Cro-Magnon artists in southern France and northern Spain, copied again and again over a distance of several thousand square miles.
-
Many of the Magdalenian paintings are far more than simply representational—they show a remarkable degree of naturalism and even impressionism. Such a development was never accomplished by any of the succeeding ancient and classical civilizations.
-
Lewis Spence commented:
“What truly artistic mind cannot applaud the horse’s head from Les Espelunges, the clay bisons on the night-bound walls of the Tuc d’Adoubert, or the charging bulls of Altamira? Compare these for action, for motion, with the wooden immobility of ancient Egyptian painting or the crudity of the early Italian Old Masters, and you behold an art brimming with life and obviously proceeding from minds attuned to a veritable realism which at the same time is conscious of the value of inspiration, which has sized upon and pictured up the real in the spirit of the ideal.” -
Prehistorian Robert Silverberg describes the sophistication of Paleolithic art in similar words, and suggests what that sophistication implies in terms of the level of cultural development:
“The cave paintings are upsetting to those who prefer to think of Ice Age man as little more than an ape. Not only do they indicate great craftsmanship, but they point to a whole constellation of conclusions: That prehistoric man had an organized society with continuity and shape, religion and art. -
“It was also dismaying to learn that the earliest inhabitants of Western Europe had scaled heights of artistic achievement that would not be reached again until late in the Christian era. This explodes the theory of man’s rise from barbarism had been steadily and always upward.”
-
William F. Albright summed up modern research into Paleolithic art in this way:
“Though the number of motifs, techniques and media available to him now is, of course, immeasurably greater, it is very doubtful whether man’s artistic abilities are actually any higher today than they were in late prehistoric times.” -
The question is, how much of Paleolithic art was a product of the Cro-Magnons themselves, and how much did they adopt from a more advanced civilization—a civilization which supplied them with a cultural influx in most other areas of living during the entire Paleolithic period?
-
It is believed by many prehistorians that the Stone Age cave paintings were more than for art’s sake, that they had a meaning and a purpose behind their production.
-
One researcher who has perhaps done more than anyone else in the area is Andre Leroi-Gourhan. Beginning in 1947, Leroi-Gourhan decided to take a purely statistical approach to prehistoric cave paintings and began a systematic investigation of 72 groups of pictures in 66 caverns representing practically the whole of European Paleolithic cave art.
-
After years of recording and classifying, the Frenchman had collected 2,188 animals figures, distributed in order of frequency in this manner: 610 horses, 510 bisons, 205 mammoths, 175 rhinos, 9 nondescript monsters, 8 large-horned deer, 8 fish, 6 birds, 3 nondescript beasts of prey, 2 wild boars, and 2 chamoix.
-
Next, Leroi-Gourhan sought to find if there were any correlations between the types of animals, and their positions in the cave. What he found was significant: 91% of the bison, 92% of the bovidae, and 86% of the horses are pictured in the central positions—in pictures in the central chambers of the caves.
-
Only 8% of the hinds, 9% of the deer, 20% of the reindeer, 4% of the ibexes, 8% of the bears and 11% of the felines are located in the central chambers—the rest were found in the remotest portions.
-
Leroi-Gourhan also analyzed many of the abstract symbols that appear in cavern art, and the majority of these he found to be male and female signs. Again, he determined where these signs are located--and again he discovered a pattern: Over 80% of the female signs are in the center chambers, while only 34% of the male signs are found there.
-
After several more years of careful study, Leroi-Gourhan uncovered many additional correlations, all of which pointed to a curious division of the animal kingdom into a vast sexual zoogamy: Only certain animal types were coupled with either the male or female signs, and found in specific locations in the caves.
-
Eventually, Leroi-Gourhan discovered that there were altogether six distinct zones to the prehistoric cavern-temple: the entrance, ambulatory, central chamber, passages, side chambers, and end chamber—each with their own distinct animal types and sex signs, grouped in a complex system of order and arrangement.
-
The Paleolithic cave-temple was thus analogous to the Catholic cathedral, with its twelve columns representing the Twelve Apostles, and its Stations of the Cross always in the same order in respect to the altar and entrance.
-
We do not know, however, the true significance of the arrangement of the Paleolithic cave. But what we do know is that the complexity of the art testifies to a religious or philosophical view of the world of a very sophisticated nature--perhaps beyond our present comprehension.
-
Prehistorian Philip Stern commented:
“The men who lived nearer the beginning of time were still close to the natural world. Their reaction to it was more direct, and they were surely better than we in dealing with it. Just as a dog has a keener sense of smell than we have, the pigeon a better sense of direction, and the bat a far better sense of locating things, so may those ancient men have possessed powers that we do not know exist. -
“Since those posers are hopelessly beyond our ken it is idle to try to guess what they might be. It is enough to admit to ourselves that the painters who worked in the dark caves may have known more than we do about now forgotten things that were as real to them as radio and sonar are to us.”
-
Looking at the enigma of the cavern-temple and its mystic artistic arrangement, Louis Pauwels is more optimistic about unraveling the mystery and its implications:
“Let us admit the paucity of our knowledge and accept the fact that these prehistoric men have left us the undecipherable writing of a subtle and complicated idea, whose deeper meaning we can only guess at. But the very fact of discovering that it is writing, which to some extent is comparable with the writing contained in the art of the cathedrals, leads us to hope that we shall be able to decipher it one day. Then we shall lose the ’primitive’ man and find our brothers in the abysses of time.” -
One of the most important discoveries that came to light was made, once again, by Alexander Marshack. He found after seven years of intensive investigation that the image of the wavy line and zigzag line, very often seen repeated in bone carvings and in cavern art, represents the mystic properties of water, and that these images are directly associated with the female or mother figure.
-
Marshack also found that there is an important link between a site where cavern art is portrayed and the local water source—river, fountain, spring, etc.
-
As Marshack noted: “Every archaeologist automatically makes the assumption that near a river is where a site will be. But no one assumed that the river and water would also be important in the thoughts, symbolism, and rituals of the way of life of the hunter. It as only when the cumulative system was uncovered that the images began to make sense.”
-
But rather than just water, what Cro-Magnon may have been portraying are the earth energy patterns usually associated with water: Wavy, serpentine lines, as used in many later ancient and modern cultures the world over, is a universal symbol for earth energies.
-
This is further confirmed by the association of the wavy line motif with the Venus female fertility figurines, which are of the Earth Mother herself.
-
That her worship and respect was a key element in Cro-Magnon’s belief structure can be seen in the large number and the wide area over which the figurines are found—several hundred stretching over 1,100 miles from western France to the Ural and Carpathian mountains—
-
and the great length of time over which the figurines persisted—beginning 29,000 years ago down to 10,000 B.C.E., or for a period of nearly 17,000 years.
-
The standardization of the design of these Venus figurines shows a strong conservative and all-pervading consciousness regarding the Earth Mother, and her appearance along with the wavy line or serpentine motif indicates the exercise of her power through that symbol by her union with it.
-
Thus to respect her was to respect her powers, the earth energies, by living in accordance and balance with them.
-
On a piece of mammoth tusk from the Russian site of Mizherich are found two wavy lines, a row of X’s, branched marks and four ovals, which experts believe represent the local prehistoric topography, including four oval-shaped dwellings excavated at the site.
-
What is actually depicted are the ley-energy centers and water lines for the area, with the dwellings placed in the landscape in harmony with them, much in the same manner as in the Chinese practice of feng-shui.
-
Not only dwelling places, but Paleolithic caverns, regarded as the womb of the Earth Mother, were also selected by the presence of ley-line systems and energy centers contained within.
-
It was for this reason, which has been a puzzle for archaeologists, why only certain caves were chosen over others as temples for the magic art, and why in only specific locations within these caves does the art appear.
-
Long before the builders of the Megalithic Age, in a Golden Age far earlier, Cro-Magnon used the sacred power centers of the Earth Mother to find attunement with himself, with all others of his kind and with the planet.
-
It is also very likely that many of the so-called batons and other bone rods found within Paleolithic remains are examples of early dowsing instruments, with which Cro-Magnon pinpointed the earth vortexes and underground streams of power.
-
In one cave, located at El Juyo on the northern coast of Spain, prehistoric men went so far as to construct a stone monument over a sacred power center, anticipating their Megalithic descendants by many millennia.
-
Near the entranceway to the cave, in 1979 Dr. Leslie Freeman of the University of Chicago and Dr. J. Gonzalez Echegary of the Altamira Museum and Research Center, unearthed the remains of a 14,000 year old dolmen—a series of flat stones set upright supporting a huge stalagmite slab six feet by four feet by half a foot, weighing nearly a ton, which had somehow been moved from its natural position 35 feet away.
-
Beneath the structure were broken spear points covered with red ochre.
-
Farther down, the experts were amazed to find a four-inch layer made of columns of compacted earth arranged in a rosette, with one column circled by six others, the empty spaces filled with white clay and the tops of the columns covered with different colors of clay.
-
Altogether, there were four alternating layers of rosettes and bone in a total of three feet thickness. Curiously, each rosette has its own unique coloring system—one has a red center with the outer six alternating in yellow and green, another has a black center with red surrounding it and with rays of black clay interconnecting them.
-
Directly beneath this rosette was a thin stratum of bunt animal bones, followed by another rosette.
-
A few feet in front of the structure, Freeman and Echegary discovered a standing stone fourteen feet high, thirteen inches wide and eight inches thick which has the face carved into it of a half-human half-feline being.
-
As one enters the cave, the observer sees only the human side, but in darkness and from the reverse direction, with the light of a lamp, the feline features appear.
-
In terms of earth energies, the standing stone is on a major ley-line entering the cave, the stone amplifying the current, and projecting it to the dolmen and rosette construction, which is placed precisely over the point where the energies spiral into an energy center.
-
Somehow the configuration of stone, colored clay and burnt bone amplifies the power potential of the energy center.
-
Add Sticky NoteBut its purpose was far more than this, for the half-human, half-feline face indicates that here was a place where Cro-Magnon sought to find a balance between his many Inner Selves. The cavern temple of the prehistoric era was thus not only recognized as being an earth energy point, but was also a place of spiritual Transformation—the Mystery Schools of Initiation for Upper Paleolithic humankind.
- The author here and elsewhere waxes just a little too extreme in superimposing his New Age religious worldview onto these Cro Magnon people. Maybe Cro Magnon appreciated art for art's sake, just like us and perhaps..and on occasion if we go back far enough, may be found some now unrecognized ritual offering, altar or tribute to the original monotheism of the one true God before rebellion and invasion of the Fallen Ones turned them all away from the truth except those 8 souls in the Ark. - on 2009-12-03

The Trumpet -
The European Commission has cited 20 of the EU’s 27 member nations for unacceptable budget deficits.
-
The year 2010 promises to be a rocky one for the world’s largest trading bloc, the European Union.
-
The latest shock comes from Greece, having revised its former deficit estimate for 2009 from 3.7% of gross domestic product to between 10 and 12%. That estimate is between three and four times the EU’s self-imposed limit of a permissible 3% maximum of GDP for EU economies.
-
EU Economic and Monetary Affairs Commissioner Joaquin Almunia warns about the risks the EU financial system is facing. (John Thys/ AFP/ Getty)
-
Germany and France, the largest economies within the EU, have forecast 2009 budget deficit estimates of 3.7% and 8.2% respectively.
-
It is interesting to note that Germany, the prime mover for the imposition of the EU’s Stability and Growth Pact which limits EU budget deficits to that 3% maximum, has been one of the most consistent offenders, for years having posted deficits consistently above that figure.
-
At the other end of the scale – the smaller and weaker economies within the EU – concerns run even deeper. The Guardian reported that the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development has warned, “The countries of Central and Eastern Europe will enjoy only a ‘fragile and patchy’ economic recovery in 2010 and the region remains vulnerable to the sort of banking crises that hit Latvia this month” (October 15).
-
Latvia, which narrowly avoided complete financial meltdown a week ago, is estimating its 2009 budget deficit will reach a whopping 10%!
-
During a conference on banking regulation in Brussels this month, Nobel prize winner in economics Joseph Stiglitz observed that “the financial crisis is forcing the EU to re-examine its cornerstone policy area – the single market” (EUobserver, October 12).
-
“The current solution,” Stiglitz said, “which is to put undue burdens on those particular countries that followed the model of deregulation, is one that we might want to question.”
-
That is tantamount to questioning the very foundational economic policy upon which the European Union is founded.
-
EUobserver further reported that “The single market theme was later picked up by the EU’s economy commissioner, Joaquin Almunia, who warned that differences in financial regulation across the EU pose a dangerous threat to the bloc’s internal market. … Mr. Almunia said it was vital that the EU iron out its own in-house discrepancies or risk contagion to the real economy” (ibid.).
-
The financial and economic storm gathering in Europe is all grist for the mill to the elites who are currently busy developing the rules and regulations which, via the global regulatory authority granted to the EU-contrived Financial Stability Board (FSB), will soon impose its measures, not just on Europe, but on the world’s 20 leading economies.
-
The greater the impending economic crisis, the louder the call will come for global financial and economic regulation.
-
That call will be music to the ears of German-Catholic elites who are behind the push for global regulation by the fsb.
-
Each call for tighter financial and economic regulation simply brings us closer to the realization of their imperial vision of Europe – in reality, the prophesied seventh, and final, resurrection of the Holy Roman Empire. (Revelation 13:16-17).

Catherine de Medici's Chamber of Secrets
-
Hundreds of secret cabinets built into the walls of legendary poisoner's private work room
- 21 more annotations...
-
-
For generations, the room full of tiny cabinets at the famous Chateau of Blois has been described to visitors as Catherine de Medici's private apothecary cabinet of horrors, home to her extensive collection of deadly poisons.
-
The massive Chateau de Blois has been home to many notable members of the French aristocracy, but none more notorious than the murderous Medici clan.
-
Catherine de Medici, wife to one French king and mother to three more, died at Blois in 1589.
-
She was the original evil stepmother, ultimate meddler in the affairs of her children and therefore matters of state, and notorious for the mysterious yet convenient deaths of her enemies.
-
Click to enlarge. Catherine de Medici's secret cabinets source
-
Once you grasp a little of her family story, however, it seems that maybe she was the most well adapted natural product of her environment.
-
Catherine was born to the infamous Florentine Medici family. Her mother died 28 days after her birth. Her father, Lorenzo was the young prince for whom Machiavelli penned his famous instructions, and he died only a few days later, most likely from syphilis.
-
After being handed around by various family members, a coup in Florence saw her paraded through the streets on a donkey as a symbol of her defeated family legacy.
-
Brought to Rome by the pope (her uncle), she was married off at age 14 to the also 14 year old heir to the French throne, who seemed to openly dislike her, and proceeded to take up publicly with another woman.
-
After a slow start, Catherine eventually bore ten children, seven of which lived long enough to meddle in politics themselves.
-
Her final pregnancy was with twins, two girls who had to be cut from her womb to prevent the death of them all. They did not survive.
-
Shortly thereafter, her husband's reign as king was ended by a lance to the eyesocket during a jousting match held in celebration of their daughter's marriage, at which he wore his mistress's colors.
-
Amazingly, a lance to the eye (and brain) did NOT immediately kill him, and he lived another ten, presumably agonizing, days.
-
Catherine then turned her attentions to micromanaging her children's careers, starting with the reign of her 15 year old son, Francis (dead by 16), then the sickly 9 year old Charles (dead at 24), and finally her favorite, the mama's boy Henry, all against a general background of political mayhem, bloody rebellions and religious massacres.
-
This tumultuous time in France and in her life was the setting for Alexandre Dumas' Queen Margot, which tells the story of Catherine's daughter Margaret who was married off to a protestant leader in a political move, and which seems to be be source of the legend that the cabinets at Blois were for Catherine's poison stash.
-
The room was in fact associated with Catherine de Medici, and she was certainly suspected of some heinous poison related crimes*, but historians believe that the cabinets were much more likely to have held small objects d'art or confidential papers than a poison collection, which is a little bit disappointing.
-
The room in question holds 237 small cabinets, hidden in the beautiful woodwork.
-
The Chateau is also the site of the elaborate assassination of the Duke of Guise, plotted by Henry III (third son of Catherine), and there is an enormous painting depicting the scene in one of the rooms.
-
It is also known for its beautiful three storey external spiral staircase and gargoyle downspouts. The wallpaper on some of the rooms has to be seen to be believed.
-
The Chateau is located conveniently across a plaza from the Maison de la Magie building, home to a fine collection of clocks and automata built by the magician Robert-Houdin, the front of which has been transformed into an enormous mechanical dragon clock.
-
*It is worth mentioning that Italians in general, and women specifically, were widely suspected of being poisoners. Catherine definitely ordered the killing of a handful of people, but she may be innocent of poisoning, specifically.

by Fritz Springmeier
-
(Fritz Springmeier is an American hero who is serving a prison term for getting too close to the truth. This excerpt is from the self-published "Be Wise as Serpents, Gentle as Doves.")
-
A very famous Jewish Mason, born in Boston to descendants of the Puritan tradition is Benjamin Franklin. His father and mother were
Josiah and Abiah Franklin. -
Benjamin Franklin contributed to the Mikveh Israel Jewish congregation in Philadelphia.
-
But Franklin
did not practice Judaism. He did practice the occult, and things that would be weird to Christians. -
He became the head of the very
occultic Grand Orient Freemasons when he was in France. -
Franklin's life was surrounded by Freemasons. Franklin's role in the establishment and promotion of Freemasonry is overwhelming.
-
His role in the destruction of Christianity is quite unknown.
-
Franklin's career as a Freemason is shrouded in mystery. This Author has in his library the somewhat rare book Benjamin Franklin as a Freemason by Julius Sachse (J.F. Sachse is the last of a line of Sachses in the World Order.)
-
This leading Masonic scholar writes, "To write the history of Franklin as a Freemason is virtually to chronicle the early Masonic history of America....A great difficulty, however, here confronts us, notwithstanding the
prominence of FRANKLIN in Pennsylvania Freemasonry; strange as it appears, he does not mention a word of his Masonic connections or career in his Autobiography, or in any of his correspondence, with but two exceptions, so far as known. -
This omission is the more
remarkable when we look at his Masonic career while in France during the later years of his life. There, his activity and intimacy with the Brethren was intimate and close, both personal
and official, FRANKLIN taking an active part in their proceedings, even advancing to the so-called higher degrees."56 In spite of all his many duties, Benjamin Franklin was "never
absent from a [Masonic] meeting."57 -
The editor of his autobiography points out that
Franklin tried to portray an unreal persona in his autobiography, but one that Franklin felt people would want to emulate.58 -
The Masonic Lodge played such a big role in Franklin's life, and yet Franklin never even hints about Freemasonry in his autobiography.
-
If Masonry is so virtuous, one wonders why it plays no role in his autobiography which was written on purpose to create an image worthy of emulation.
-
In Feb. 1730, it appears he was initiated into St. John's Lodge of Philadelphia.61
-
Benjamin Franklin was the founder of the American Philosophical Society.59 He was also a Rosicrucian.60
-
And in 1727, he started the secret revolutionary political society called
the Leather Apron Club which changed its name in 1731 to Junto, and took on the appearance of being a literary society.62 -
The same year that this "literary" society changed its name, the St. John's Masonic Lodge that Franklin belonged to got in touch with the Grand
Lodge of London whose Grand Master the Duke of Norfolk appointed Daniel Coxe. -
Daniel Coxe advised the Masons when he arrived of a plan for the federation of the colonies.63
-
In 1754, while deputy Grand Master, Franklin unveiled at Albany, NY to his brother Masons
his plan to unite all the colonies under one government.64 -
Albany was the site of one the earliest Scottish Rite's Lodge of Perfection.
-
Between Jan 21, 1769 and Jan. 21, 1772 a series of inflammatory letters called The Letters of Junius, which were written in England, were circulated through out the American colonies. The
letters advanced those causes that the colonists would declare to be the causes of their revolution, human rights, freedom of the press, and taxation without representation. The letters were read by Franklin and many of the Masons who initiated the American
Revolution. -
The man who wrote these letters according to his niece, was the Reverend James Wilmot (1726-1808) a Mason and rector of Barton-on-the-Heath, in Warwickshire in 1785. He also was the first person to publicly name Bacon as the author of Shakespeare's
works.65 He also apparently was in contact with the Lodge of Nine Sisters in France that Franklin would join in 1777.66 -
"Historians have never ceased to wonder at the enormous psychological influence which Franklin exercised in colonial politics. But up to the present day, few indeed are those who have realized that the source of his power lay in the secret societies to which he belonged and which he was the appointed spokesman."67
-
Independence Hall which became the famous center of the Revolution was built by the Masons. It is believed by some that the Mason Benjamin Franklin laid its cornerstone, others say it was another Freemason instead.
-
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN & RELIGION
-
Some of Franklin's Masonic brothers in France were impressed by the rituals, etc. that he thought up for a new religion.
-
Turning our attention to a different aspect of Franklin's, in a
statement of beliefs Franklin states, "I conceive then, that the INFINITE has created many beings or Gods... It may be that these created Gods are immortal; or it may be that after many Ages, they are changed, and others Supply their Places."68 -
Not only were Franklin's beliefs not Christian, but in the later years of his life all the Christian standards were violated, so
that it is really a travesty of honest reporting, that Franklin is held up by so many as a role model for Protestants. -
The distortions in the popular history books about Franklin are but a microcosm of the distortions that history books in general suffer from.
-
His mother was very concerned that he had joined the Freemasons, and strongly objected.
-
In diplomatic double-talk he advised her not to worry about what she didn't know about.
-
"As to the Freemasons, unless she will believe me when I assure her that they are in
general a very harmless sort of People; and have no principles or Practices that are inconsistent with Religion or good Manners, I know no Way of giving my Mother a better Opinion of them than she seems to have at present (since it is not allow'd that Women should
be admitted into that secret Society)... I must entreat her to suspend Judgment till she is better inform'd,..."69 -
To paraphrase-- So Mom I can't tell you anything more, but don't judge until you're well informed about us.

in power commonly surround themselves with those who share their ideals
and protect their own secrets. -
French President Nicolas Sarkozy knew of
Mitterrand’s child sexual abuse habits when he appointed the criminal
to his "rainbow cabinet." -
The Independent Online reports
Sarkozy had read The Bad Life and called Mitterrand’s “sex
tourism book 'courageous.’” -
Polanski
posed for French magazines with young girls and in his book, Mitterrand
said he sought “young boys” for sex. Despite their public
personas as child sex predators Polanski and Mitterrand were lionized
by the French elite. -
After
his vocal defense of Polanski, some of the French opposition party demanded
Mitterrand’s resignation. -
One political opponent quoted from the
Minister’s autobiography in a TV debate. Even a Socialist party
spokesman said it was “shocking” that the Culture Minister
was a child sex tourist. -
Sarkozy
has not called for the arrest of his “courageous” pederast
Minister who now says by “young boys” in Asia, he really meant
men his age. -
Certainly
Mitterrand is not the only powerful European government leader who brags
about child molesting. -
In 1975,
Bendit, a German socialist popular in France, wrote in Le Grand Bazar,
"On several occasions certain kids would” show sexual interest
in him, detailing his sexual responses. Later, accused of child abuse
he said, “what I wrote is unacceptable nowadays.” -
The
You Tube currently screens an excerpt from a French TV literary
show on channel “Antenne 2 (now France 2), April 23, 1982. [4] -
Here
Cohn says he and his Green comrades had “very few orgies, lots of
drugs, soft drugs, we support those, these little hashish cakes, they're
fantastic. In fact I ate one tonight! Fantastic!….I work with kids….little
kids, Gee, the things they do with me [shaking his hand provocatively
and laughing] ….aged 16 months to 2 years…” -
He then
details his child sexual molestation of children to his fellow French
artistes, how we “cuddle….touched….kid’s sexuality….a
5 year old little girl….its eroticomaniac.” -
His
stoned French TV revelations caused nary a ripple. -
-
Meanwhile,
British artistes at Tate Modern were just forced to remove a naked photo
of a 10-year-old Brooke Shields from its pornography “museum”
exhibit. -
Historically,
our ancestors fled the “old world” to create a sexually restrained
and thus incredibly productive “Puritan” new world, bound
by biblical, Judeo Christian moral imperatives. -
Mitterrand,
Polansky, Bendit, the Tate Modern and their elitist sheep followers tell
us, “you’ve come a long way, baby.” Now, the wisest
move surely would be if We The People went backward instead of forward. -

Britons are among thousands of tourists fleeing Guadeloupe after full scale urban warfare erupted on the French Caribbean island.
-
Trouble broke out on the island earlier last month after protesters began rioting over high prices and low wages.
-
But the situation escalated this week after protesters began turning on rich white families as they demanded an end to colonial control of the economy.
-
The troubles come at the height of the holiday season, with thousands of mainly British, French and American tourists on the paradise tropical island.
-

Guadeloupe descends into full-scale urban warfare after demonstrators riot over low wages and white control of the island's economy
-

Violence has escalated on the Caribbean island as protesters turn their attention to rich white families who they blame for their poor standard of living
-
Protesters were now targeting 'all white people', with the media in mainland France describing the situation as virtual civil war'.
-
Guadeloupe is a French overseas department ruled directly from Paris, and authorities in France have sent 300 extra riot police to the island in a bid to quell the violence.
-
Meanwhile, hundreds of protesters are roaming the streets of the capital Point-a-Pitre, looting shops and restaurants, burning cars and vandalising public buildings.
Holiday resorts along the coast have hired extra security to protect tourists, while the airport is jammed with visitors now trying to get out of the country.
-
Union leader Jacques Bino was the first man to die in the violence when he was caught in crossfire on Tuesday while driving a car near a roadblock manned by armed youths who had opened fire at police.
-
Six members of the security forces were injured during shoot-outs with the armed youths as they tried to help emergency teams who were trying to save Mr Bino's life.
-
Dozens more police and demonstrators have also been hurt in frequent clashes on the capital's streets - which one newspaper describing it as looking like a battlefield'.
-

Protesters ransacked shops and torched cars as the island descends into full-scale urban warfare
-
Most shops, banks, schools and government offices are now shut in Guadeloupe and the neighbouring French tourist island of Martinique - where protests are also mounting.
-
Guadeloupe's socialist opposition leader Malikh Boutih said: 'It is shocking to watch a police force which is almost 100 per cent white confront a population which is 100 per cent black.
-
'All the same elements of the riots on mainland France in 2005 are present here.
-
'We don't have the same concrete buildings, there are palm trees instead, but it's the same dead-end, the same "no future" for young people, with joblessness and a feeling of isolation.'
-
The first protests began a month ago when the left-wing union coalition, the Collective Against Exploitation, demanded a £180 a month pay increase for low-wage earners.
-
President Nicolas Sarkozy sent his minster for overseas departments to the island to meet with union leaders on response to the demands.
-
But the racial tensions which have been simmering for decades exploded into full-scale rioting, with colonial descendants who own 90 per cent of the wealth becoming the focus of the violence.
-
The unrest was further aggravated last week when wealthy white landowner Alain Huyghues-Despointes publicly criticised mixed-race marriages and said he preferred to 'preserve his race'.
-
In Paris, the violence has provoked divisions in Mr Sarkozy's cabinet with black minister Rachida Data acknowledging that Guadeloupe suffered from 'a problem with the distribution of wealth'.

-
Laetitia Delaprade, spokeswoman at Voyages Antillais, a Paris-based travel agency that specialises in French Caribbean, said: 'People are scared. No one wants to go there and those that are there want to get out.'
Tourism Authority chief Madeleine de Grandmaison said: 'Tourism is fragile. People are not only cancelling this week, but also for all the months of February, March and April.
-
'We have a huge deficit of tourists ahead of us. At least 10,000 tourists have cancelled vacations in Martinique and Guadeloupe.'
-

Authorities struggle to contain the anarchy which has swept across the island
-

-
The Paris-based Association of Tour Operators has now classified Guadeloupe as a 'red zone', meaning it is not endorsing it as a destination.
-
A spokesman said: 'Most holidaymakers to Guadeloupe are British, American and mainland French.
-
'None have been hurt yet but there is the threat of violence in the air and staying there no longer feels comfortable.'
-
Guadeloupe's Tourism Committee said that the main airport had also been temporarily closed yesterday because of a lack of worker, but had now reopened.
A spokesman added: 'It is very busy. Every flight leaving the island is is full.'

Here's what readers have had to say so far.
-
I've been to many of the islands in the Caribbean and there are some where the locals don't like white people but I had thought Guadeloupe nice and peaceful. This will cost the island billions in much needed foreign revenue and make the poor even poorer.

-
Anti-Jesuits alleged that Jesuits were engaged in a vast conspiracy
aimed to destroy the new revolutionary order. -
Jesuits were for the
first time accused of having infiltrated Freemasonry, apparently with
the purpose of restoring Catholicism to its former glories. -
Similarities in ritual forms, the hierarchy of membership, and the
notion of blind obedience to superiors, as well as claims that the
Masons derived from the Catholic Knights Templar and were linked to
the Stuart pretender, made such claims plausible. -
Anti-Jesuits, as
before, included both Protestants hostile to Catholicism, led by the
publicists, Friedrich Nicolai and Johann Joachim Christoph Bode, and
Enlightened Catholics, especially associated with the Illuminati, a
secret society that promoted secularism.
-
Opposition to the Jesuits was a central issue for many of the Masonic
subgroupings; the Rosicrucians had arisen "almost as a mirror image of
the Jesuit Order"; and Adam Weishaupt had conceived the Order of
Illuminati as an anti-Jesuit organization modeled upon Jesuitical
methods and organizational forms. The Jesuits responded in kind: it
was widely believed that the suppression of the Illuminati in Bavaria
was instigated by them.
-
On 13 March, 1778, Adam Weishaupt (Spartacus) wrote a letter to
Maximilian Balthasar Ludwig Edler von Merz (Tiberius), one of the five
original members of the Illuminati and an Areopagite. One section
reads: "We have … in Munich our own printer. It is from there
that you'll soon receive, printed at our expense, the Relatio de
strategmatis et sophismatis Polchis S. I. by Alphonsus de Vargas" (Einige Originalschriften des
Illuminatenordens, p. 221). That is, Relatio ad Reges
et Principes Christianos De Stratagematis et Sophismatis politicis
Societatis Jesu ad Monarchiam orbis terrarum sibi confirmandam [A
Report to the Christian Kings and Princes on the Stratagems and
Political Sophisms of the Jesuits For World Domination]; -
or, as Juan
Antonio Llorente has translated its title, An Exposition made by
Alphonsa de Vargas to the Christian Kings and Princes, of the
Stratagems and political Artifices which the Members of the Society of
Jesus employ to establish a universal Monarchy in their favour, a Work
which proves the deceit of the Jesuits towards the Kings and Nations
who have received them favourably; their Perfidy and Disobedience, even
to the Pope, and the immoderate Desire of Innovation which they have
always shewn in Matters of Religion (see
The History of the Inquisition of Spain, from the Time of Its
Establishment to the Reign of Ferdinand VII, London: G. B.
Whittaker, 1826, p. 280). -
First printed at Rome in 1636, Alphonsus de Vargas was one of the
pseudonyms of Caspar Schoppe [or Gaspar Scioppius] (1576-1649); and his
above mentioned work was recommended reading for all Illuminati
initiates. -
Add Sticky NoteBy 1778, Schoppe's Stratagems and Political Sophisms of
the Jesuits was a classic and a much sought-after work of
anti-Jesuitism. Weishaupt, by printing a new edition at the expense of
the Illuminati, had put into motion one of the Illuminati's own
Strategmatis: the Jesuits must be discredited, exposed, hunted
and driven out.- The Illuminati conspiracy against the Jesuits? - on 2008-09-17
-
Weishaupt's personal war with the Society of Jesus had
already begun at Ingolstadt University. Now, with the Illuminati in
full operation, the growing assets of the Order could be put to use. -
In July, 1780, the Illuminati had managed to insinuate its most zealous
initiate thus far: Adolph Franz Friedrich Ludwig Baron von Knigge (1752
Bredenbeck, Germany - 1796 Bremen, Germany). -
Knigge (Philo
Judaeus), having been extremely fascinated with secret societies
and occultism, applied for membership in Freemasonry at the earliest
possible age. The Kassel Strict Observance Lodge 'Zum gekrönten
Löwen' [of the Crowned Lion] accepted him into the fold in 1772,
and in 1779 he became a knight of the rite of Strict Observance (alias,
'Eques a Cygno' [Knight of the Swan]). -
During his formative Masonic years before joining the Illuminati,
Knigge had become acquainted with Mason and alchemist, Marburg
professor Friedrich Joseph Wilhelm Schröder (1733-78).
Schröder imbued him with enthusiasm for the occult sciences. -
On
Schröder, Knigge had said: "What man would not have been fired
with zeal for theosophy, magic, and alchymy, in the company of Scroeder
[sic]? These were the mysteries of the Strict Observance, in which I
was a firm believer, and practised all the evocations of spirits, and
other occult ceremonies of the Order!" -
-
(In
George Oliver, The Historical Landmarks and Other Evidences of Freemasonry:
Explained in a Series of Practical Lectures, with Copious
Notes, Vol. II (New York: Masonic Publishing and
Manufacturing, 1867), p. 53 n. 79; cf. Le Forestier, op. cit., p. 210
and Augustin Barruel, op.cit., p. 621.) -
Through his correspondences with Johann Georg Wendelstadt - a future
high-ranking member of the Illuminati himself,* and
also a member of the Strict Observance - it is clear that in 1778/79
Knigge was obsessed with research into alchemy and was dedicated to
chasing down old manuscripts in hopes of finding the key to transmuting
dross into gold - an apprentice of the Great Work. -
Having no luck on
his own, in August 1778 he decided upon applying for membership into
the Golden and Rosy Cross. Schröder was well-connected with the
Rosicrucian Order (probably a member) and served as a liaison. Knigge
was given a list of preliminary questions for potential candidates.
Schröder had assured his friend that, soon, at the proper place
and time, Knigge would meet with a member and take the required entry
exam. -
The Golden and Rosy Cross, however, rejected his application and,
according to Le Forestier, "he would have to be content with remaining
a member of the Strict Observance" (p. 211).
* In Hermann Schüttler,
Die Mitglieder des Illuminatenordens 1776-1787/93 (Munich:
Ars Una 1991), p. 164. -
Knigge resented the deception of the Rosicrucians, renounced his
foolish reveries in alchemy, and was thenceforth determined to
radically reform Freemasonry. He condemned the occult sciences to his
brother Masons, loudly protested against would-be gold-makers, and
attempted to have any mention of alchemy banned within the Strict
Observance. -
Seeking another route - as far away from the occult arts as
he could - it was at this time that he developed a primitivist Utopian
(socialist) worldview, which, unbeknownst to him at the time, was
similar to the ideology of Adam Weishaupt. -
As historian G. P. Gooch had
put it: "The dream of founding a new Order had taken root in his mind;
but when he was told that such an Order was already in existence, he
asked to be initiated, and brought a number of disillusioned Masons
with him" (Studies in German History, London, 1948, p. 66). -
Knigge's insinuator was Constantin Marchese di Costanzo
(Diomedes), a member of the Illuminati's Areopagites. -
Weishaupt was well-pleased with the recruitment of Knigge, who had
plenty of connections not only in Freemasonry but within the Hanau
court as well. -
Soon, Weishaupt was personally corresponding with his
rising star, even getting a lesson or two on the intrigues and rituals
of modern Freemasonry (Knigge subsequently restructured the higher
grades of the Illuminati to better incorporate certain features of
Masonic nomenclature). -

Baron von Knigge -
In wasn't long after that Weishaupt encouraged Knigge - and supplied
him with the materials - to publish a series of articles on the
intrigues of the Jesuits. -
In March 1781, three articles by Knigge were
printed in the journal of the respected Göttingen professor August
Ludwig Schlözer (1735-1809). Volumes 8 and 9 of A.L.
Schlözer's Briefwechsel meist historischen und politischen
Inhalts included the articles from Knigge; the most important of
which, from the standpoint of Weishaupt, was Tentatives des
ex-Jésuites pour rétablir en Bavière la barbarie
et l'Ordre des Jésuites [The ex-Jesuits' attempts to
return barbarity and the Order of the Jesuits to Bavaria]. -
It
admonished the Elector of Bavaria, Karl Theodor to open his eyes toward
the machinations of the Jesuits, especially the intrigue at Ingolstadt
University. Three extensive documents were included as proof. -
There was
a report signed by four Ingolstadt professors in the faculty of
theology, protesting against the pretensions of ex-Jesuit Benedict
Stattler (1728-97), who, by then, was already an outspoken enemy of the
Illuminati. The professors decried the fact that Stattler, who should
have been thrown out after the suppression of the Jesuits in 1773, was
soon after appointed repetitor and in 1780, actually promoted to
professor of dogmatics; -
that the ex-Jesuits now had a total of seven
professors on the Ingolstadt faculty when before the suppression of the
Order, they had had only three! -
The next attached-document contained
another sharp attack against the Jesuitism of Stattler, specifically
mentioning the efforts of Weishaupt and professor Stehler to combat and
maneuver against it. And the last document claimed that the "Jesuits
sought to reestablish their Novitiate under another name and have
propagandized in the monasteries" (Le
Forestier, p. 222-3). -
At the behest of Weishaupt and the Illuminati, Knigge wrote two more
pamphlets which were published in 1781: Avertissement aux princes
allemands, pour les mettre en garde contre l'esprit et le poignard des
Jésuites [A Warning to the German Princes to guard
against the spirit and dagger of the Jesuits] and Ueber Jesuiten,
Freymaurer und deutsche Rosencreutzer [The Jesuits, Freemasons
and the German Rosicrucians]. -
In order to give the writings more
weight, in the latter publication Knigge had used a pseudonym: Joseph
Aloys Maier, a supposed ex-member of the Jesuits. -
Ueber Jesuiten,
Freymaurer was composed of three chapters. The first contained
"remarks on the perverse and dangerous principles of the former Society
of Jesus," including a sketch of its history and an outline of its
members. The second chapter contained a letter on the profane teachings
of the Freemasons, and attributed to a former member. The last
contained research on the veracity and supposed authenticity of the
German Golden and Rosy Cross. -
The chapter on the Jesuits was culled
from documents provided to Knigge by the Illuminati; eleven pamphlets
in all, one of which was Louis-René de Caradeuc de La Chalotais'
1762 report to the Parlement de Rennes which was the catalyst for the
1764 expulsion of the Jesuits in France. -
Knigge was being used by the hierarchy of the Illuminati. He had
significant skills as a writer already, and was thus the perfect choice
to pen and publish the anti-Jesuitical screeds: for if he wanted to
gain the trust of his new "brotherhood," he'd better do as he was told. -
Not only had Knigge written against the enemies of the Illuminati, but
he blossomed into the greatest recruiter for the Order (some 500
members, by his own account), while personally reorganizing the system
of degrees. -
For all his efforts - a veritable superstar compared to
everyone else - Weishaupt's only reward was to constantly talk about
him behind his back. Weishaupt was obviously threatened by Knigge's
popularity within the Order, and by 1783 their mutual disdain had
finally come to a head. -
Two months before Knigge resigned in disgust, he wrote a letter to
Illuminatus Franz Xaver von Zwack (Cato) on February 25, 1783.
His frustration is palpable; his threats serious: -
At the behest of Spartacus, I wrote against the ex-Jesuits and the
Rosicrucians; I hounded men who had done me no harm; I caused disarray
in the Strict Observance and drew the best of them to us; I gave them
a great idea of the dignity of the Order, its power, its age, the
excellence of its leaders, of the perfect fit for [Strict
Observance's] senior members, the importance of the knowledge they
possessed and its righteous intentions; these people, who now show so
much activity in our favour, but remain very committed to religiosity,
feared that we intended to spread deism: I have therefore tried to
convince them that the Grand Chiefs [of the Illuminati] had no such
intention. However, little by little, I do what I please. Let us
suppose, then: -
That I let the Jesuits and the Rosicrucians know who is persecuting
them; -
That I reveal, if only to a few people, the small, insignificant
origin of the Order; -
That I prove to them, by my designs, that I have established part of
the degrees myself; -
That I make known to them the Jesuitical character of the man who
perhaps leads us all by the nose, makes use of us for his ambitious
schemes, while we sacrifice all the time as often as his obstinacy
requires; perhaps what is to fear from such a man, and such a machine
that may or may not be hiding Jesuits; -
That I give assurance to those searching for secrets to expect
nothing; -
That I reveal the secret principles of the General [Weishaupt] to
whom religion is overrated; -
That I discovered how much this work is new and the weak bases upon
which it relies; -
That I draw the attention of the Lodges to a hidden Association
behind which lies the Illuminati; -
That I align myself anew with Princes and Freemasons;
-
Furthermore, that I find a more solid plan, less selfish, more
enlightened, based entirely upon honesty and liberty; that I initiate
the best minds with whom I am still acquainted; that in every area
I'll secretly initiate recruits [already] insinuated by the
Illuminati, so that thereafter I would be well-informed; -
That even in Greece [Bavaria] I would give information to certain
people, in addition to disclosing the founder and all the rest; -
- That I sound the alarm in Rome [Vienna] through the intermediaries of
Princes, to Numenius and the Rosicrucians!
Nachtrag von weitern Originalschriften, welche die
Illuminatensekte, I, pp. 112-14
- That I sound the alarm in Rome [Vienna] through the intermediaries of
-
Threat #5 is probably tantalizing to the Jesuits=Illuminati crowd. So
be it; at least I didn't suppress it. -
I offer but one observation:
paranoia is the one common denominator of any secret society worth its
salt! Admittedly, in terms of despotism and totalitarian proclivities,
Weishaupt had out-Jesuited the Jesuits. -
Number thirteen is the most significant. The Rosicrucians - who had
already openly declared war on the Illuminati - were perhaps even more
detested than the Jesuits. Vienna was one of their strongholds. -
Numenius (Count Franz Joseph von Kolowrat-Liebensteinsky) was a recent
recruit in the Illuminati; was well-connected with the Imperial court;
and had been entangled with the entire milieu of Viennese
Rosicrucianism. And Weishaupt, with trademark subterfuge, made it his
pet project to try and cure the noble of his mystical inclinations. To
threaten to reveal the secrets of the Illuminati to the Rosicrucians
was more serious than spilling the beans to Jesuits. -
Another Illuminatus, Christoph Friedrich Nicolai (1733-1811), picked up
where Knigge left off; the latter had even insinuated the former into
the Illuminati in March 1782. As an introduction, here's a brief sketch
from Klaus Epstein (op cit., p. 40; emphasis
mine):
[Nicolai] was ... a prolific and gifted writer, and above all the
possessor of an uncanny instinct concerning what the German reading
public wanted at any specific time. His didactic novels lampooned with
equal vigor intolerant orthodoxy, mystical pietism, romantic
enthusiasm, and manipulative Rosicrucianism; his main phobia, open
and veiled, was the Jesuits, whom he feared in a manner suggesting a
pathological obsession.
-
Add Sticky NoteNicolai had of course been the longtime editor of the ADB
(Allgemeine Deutsche Bibliothek), extant from 1765-1806. A
mammoth undertaking, this publication functioned as the heart of the
German/Prussian Enlightenment itself.- The heart of the German/Prussian Enlightenment - on 2008-09-17
-

Christoph Friedrich Nicolai (Lucianus): Novice, March 1782;
Illuminatus Minor, April 1782; Regent and Prefect of Berlin, 1784 -
For forty years the ADB
reviewed and critiqued nearly the entire prose output of the time. -
Nicolai seemed to be even-handed in most areas, except for two:
critical philosophy and matters relating to Catholicism. On these two
points Nicolai decreed the ADB take an unmitigated ideological
stance. -
In correspondence with Albrecht Georg Walch about the latter's
intention on reviewing for the ADB some new books originating
in Catholic Würzburg, for instance, Nicolai had admonished: "we
must view matters from a Protestant rather than a Catholic
perspective." -
He reminded Walsh of the "incredible stupidity that still
prevails among Catholics"; and while remarking on a new book by
Catholic historian Michael Ignatz Schmidt (1736-1794), in which he
judged the Reformation "in a most irresponsible manner," Nicolai
remarked, "[t]his is unforgivable ... and we Protestants must
contradict such things, so that prejudices are not once again
introduced in place of the truth" (in Pamela
Eve Selwyn, Everyday Life in the German Book Trade: Friedrich Nicolai as
Bookseller and Publisher in the Age of Enlightenment, Penn
State Press, 2000, p. 267). -
Add Sticky NoteIn the exact time frame of Nicolai's insinuation into the Illuminati
(early 1782), he had also "started the campaign of the Berlin
Enlighteners against what they perceived as the Catholic threat against
the Enlightenment,"* by publishing his
pseudo-historical book on the Knights Templar: Versuch über
die Beschuldigungen, welche dem Tempelherrenorden gemacht worden, und
über dessen Geheimnis; nebst einem Anhang über das Enstehen
der Freimäurergesellschaft [roughly: Essay on the
Accusations against the Templars, and the Secret of the Order; with a

Add Sticky NoteIt included the
oft-claimed Templar origins of Freemasonry as well as endorsing the
then-prevailing anti-Catholic, Masonic theory that Jesuits had tampered
with the high degrees of Freemasonry (ala the Young Pretender,
the Jacobites, Chevalier Ramsay, the "Scottish" degrees or
Ecossais Lodges, and the "Unknown Superiors" of the
Templar-obsessed Rite of Strict Observance).

-
In turn, Nicolai's collaborators at the popular Berlinische
Monatsschrift [Berlin Monthly Journal] started publishing
material against "crypto-Catholics" around 1784. -
"The argument," writes Masonic historian Alain Bernheim, 33°, "began
with the alleged secret influence of the Jesuits' Order upon protestant
circles and developed in attributing them the salvation of the Strict
Observance by the Clerics. -
The Monatsschrift was foremost
in the story together with Nicolai and Bode." Also, in January 1785,
the Monatsschrift published an attack against the
crypto-Jesuitism of a high-degree member of the Strict Observance,
Lutheran pastor Johann August Starck. -
It was a veiled attack - for those
in the know - referring to him as "a theologian well-known for his
writings, about whom it is said almost openly that he is not only
affiliated to the Jesuits but actually belongs to the Jesuits of the
fourth class who must take special vows in order to be sent on special
missions" (Bernheim, op. cit.) -
The Berlinische Monatsschrift was the official organ of
the secret society known as the Berlin Wednesday Society ('Mittwochsgesellschaft'; 1783-98) internally referred to as
the Society of Friends of Enlightenment ('Gesellschaft der Freunde der
Aufklärung'). -
Nicolai was one of the twelve founding members of
the society, which soon included a few other Illuminati (von
Leuchsenring and von Goeckingk), along with the most famous names of
the Berlin Enlightenment. Their goal was to fight obscurantism - viz.
theocracy, Jesuitism, Rosicrucianism, orthodoxy, etc. - and effect
public policy in favour of the rationalist ideals of the
Popularphilosophen. (See my
forthcoming book.) -
The Berlinische Monatsschrift's most successful campaign
against the so-called crypto-Jesuits began in its March 1788 issue with
the publication of some diaries by Charlotte von der Recke. Supposedly,
she was a former co-Mason in the Egyptian rite of Count Cagliostro -
Recke accused Cagliostro of being a "dangerous Jesuit" who had cast his
mystic spell on the credulous. Later, the diaries were published in
Russian "with a preface by the German editor, Nicolai, who reasserted
and supported the author's thesis" (Raffaella
Faggionato, A Rosicrucian Utopia in Eighteenth-Century Russia: The
Masonic Circle of N.I. Novikov, Springer, 2005, p.
191). -
Nicolai soon published another book from Recke, this time
for his insatiable readership in Germany. -
The Berlin Enlightenment's
favorite whipping-boy, Starck, was her newfound
enemy.* The book was excerpted in installments
(1788-9) in the Berlinische Monatsschrift. According to
Raffaella Faggionato, Recke accused the mystic Mason of "allegedly
planning a Catholic Jesuit restoration hidden beneath the mystical and
magical show of the clerico-Templar doctrine that he was propagating."
(Ibid.) -
* Starck would have his
revenge, however. He subsequently published one of the most convincing
tomes of anti-Illuminati literature then extant; his Der Triumph
der Philosophie im 18. Jahrhundert [The Triumph of Philosophy in
the 18th Century] (2 vols., Germantown, 1803). -
The most important member of the Illuminati that Knigge had personally
recruited - at the famous Congress of Wilhelmsbad, in the summer of
1782 - was Johann Joachim Christoph Bode (1730-1793). With a
take-no-prisoners attitude, J. J. C. Bode was one of the most respected
Freemasons in all of Germany and even more of a zealous rationalist
than Weishaupt himself. -
Bode was already completely obsessed with discovering hidden Jesuits in
Masonry, and would soon warn his Superiors about the danger lurking
within. -
"Brother Bode," writes René Le Forestier,
Eques a Lilie Convallium, Director of the 7th Province of the Strict
Observance, arrived at the conviction that the Jesuits had invented
Templar Freemasonry, first to support the cause of Catholic Stuarts,
then, after the suppression of the Order, to maintain secrecy and
combat Protestantism. He thought that Johnson, Hund, Starck, the
Clerics, Gugomos, Waechter - who claim to have brought secret
knowledge back to Rome - and the whole of the Swedenborgian
Illuminés were either emissaries or instruments of the
disciples of Loyola, and he was preparing to warn the Superiors of the
Strict Observance of this intrigue.
- Le Forestier, op. cit., p. 186
-

Johann Joachim Christoph Bode (Aemilius/Winefried): Initiated
into Freemasonry at the Hamburg Lodge ‘Absalom’ in 1764;
member of the Strict Observance (alias “a Lilio
convallium”); 1782-86, 'Absalom' Master of the Chair;
Illuminatus minor, 1782; Illuminatus major, 1783; Upper Saxony
Provincial, 1784; 1785-93, the defacto head of the Illuminati -
And warn he did; in a long manuscript addressed to the Superiors of the
Strict Observance on September 19, 1780. Le Forestier, who read the
circular in full, gives three examples (p. 361n.2) of the type of
arguments Bode had utilized: -
1) That Hiram Abiff's murderers - two
rebels - "symbolize the Roman Catholic hierarchy destroyed by Luther
and Calvin"; -
2) "The Sprig of Acacia, so dear to Freemasons, looks
exactly like the sign of the Bishop" (huh?); -
and that 3) Baron von Hund
(the founder of the Strict Observance) had told the tale of being
received into an already extant Masonic Templarism by an Eques a Penna
Rubra [Knight of the Red Feather] in the 1740s, but was sworn to
conceal his true name. The third was further elaborated upon. -
Bode said
he had come across an historical episode which backed up his "hidden
Jesuits behind Templar Masonry" theory. While reading History of
the Jesuits (1760), by his friend Hardenberg, he came across a
story about some Jesuit prisoners captured after a battle in 1759.
Apparently, one of them wore a helmet adorned with a red
feather, and "a red Hussar costume with loose sleeves with a chain
around his neck. Bode concludes without hesitation that the Jesuit
prisoner, father Lenanez, was in fact the Eques a Penna Rubra mentioned
by Hund; that what he was wearing during combat was the collar of the
Strict Observance as well as the coat of a Prefect [a grade within the
rite]; and that the author had mistakenly confused the outfit with the
vestments of a Hussar" (ibid.) -
The first two points seem like gibberish, and hardly even imaginative.
The third, however, must surely have piqued the curiosity of his fellow
Jesuit paranoiacs. It strikes to the heart of the mystery. -
The gist of the tale is this: In the 1750s Baron von Hund started
advertising a new rite amongst his Masonic brethren. He claimed it
descended directly from the Knights Templar. -
When pressed for further
details, he finally revealed that while in Paris in the early 1740s, he
was initiated into some higher degrees - a secret order of Templars -
and dubbed a Chevalier Templier. The master initiator was an "Unknown
Superior," who had only been identified to him as 'Knight of the Red
Feather.' -
He further elaborated that, shortly after the ceremony, he
was brought before none other than Charles Edward Stuart (Bonnie Prince
Charlie; the Young Pretender) himself, whom he assumed was also an
"Unknown Superior" of the Order. -
All the elements are present from the
start for an imaginative anti-Catholic theorist to run amuck:
(Catholic) Jacobites, (Catholic) Stuart pretenders, (Catholic) Knights
Templar, (Catholic) Unknown Superiors - oh my! -
The one thing
that nagged at everyone, however, was the identity of the master
string-puller himself, this Knight of the Red Feather. -
Add Sticky NoteEveryone had a
crack at it - it was a favorite pastime - and Bode was but one in a
long line of hypothesizers. While Bode was unsurprisingly looking for
a Jesuit, Michael Baigent and Richard Leigh, still chasing the mystery
some 200 years later, believe they have cracked the case.- Who was the "Knight of the Red Feather?" - on 2008-09-17
-
In Temple and the Lodge (Arcade Publishing, 1991),
pp. 196-8, stemming from access "to the papers of a group called
'Stella Templum'," the Knight of the Red Feather, they claim, was
identified in the heretofore unknown archives as one Alexander Montgomery. -
When Knigge approached him at the
Wilhelmsbad Congress as a potential recruit, Bode stipulated a
condition that Knigge prove the Order of the Illuminati were the
implacable enemies of the Jesuits; he also requested permission to
print and distribute some of his materials on Jesuitry in Masonry to
the brethren of the Order (Nachtrag von
weitern Originalschriften, welche die Illuminatensekte, I, pp.
218-20). -
Bode was relentless in his efforts to warn his Masonic brothers of
Jesuits concealed in Masonry. -
But Bode had already been making his own discreet
inquiries into the Illuminati and was impressed with what he'd heard;
he didn't need much convincing: the grade of Illuminatus
Dirigens* was read in full, along with passages from
Knigge's above-mentioned 1781 pamphlet, Ueber Jesuiten,
Freymaurer und deutsche Rosencreutzer (see Le Forestier, op. cit., p. 370 and

talented satirists and poets of the Enlightenment. -

twisting of history by some conspiracy theorists, this story
desperately needed to be told. -

Too numerous to mention
-
Goethe is one of the most
influential literary figures of all-time. -
He is often
described as the "last Renaissance man." -
Goethe undertook the
task to reintegrate the fragmented hermetic doctrines,
culminating in his seminal work Faust. -
Michael Baigent writes, "…
behind the encyclopedic scope and breadth of his activities
lay essentially the same impetus that had motivated Agrippa
and Paracelsus … Goethe was the true heir of the
Hermetic magus of the Renaissance, working primarily in
solitude and making himself the real subject and object of
his alchemical experiment. -
Goethe not only depicted a Faust
figure. As his contemporaries recognized, he was himself a
Faust figure, whose fictional depiction of the magus was but
an adjunct of his own personal Hermetic quest." 38 -
Goethe's Faust has put him in the company of
Homer, Dante and Shakespeare. Academics praise this work and
lecture on the "wide panorama of scenes from the vulgar to
the sublime, with passages of wondrous poetry that can be
sensed even through the veil of translation." 39 -
His scientific investigations impressed
future generations as well: "Awed by Goethe's literary fame,
dazzled by his reputation as the universal man, in decades
after his death even noted scientists like Ernst Haeckel
early praised him as the bold amateur precursor of Darwin."
40 -
Carl Jung was another intellectual/mystic in awe of Goethe.
-
Faust for him, throughout his life, was to
remain his most sacred book: "I regard my work on alchemy as
a sign of my inner relationship to Goethe. Goethe's secret
was that he was in the grip of that process of archetypal
transformation which has gone on through the centuries. He
regarded his Faust as an opus magnum or
divinum. He called it his 'main business,' and his
whole life was enacted within the framework of this drama.
Thus, what was alive and active within him was a living
substance, a super personal process, the great dream of the
mundus archetypus (archetypal world)." 41 -
Baigent elaborates: "For Jung, Goethe
exemplified the premise enunciated by Hermetic magi of the
more distant past, from Paracelsus and Agrippa back to
Zosimus and the practitioners of ancient Alexandria - that
the alchemist must ultimately be the subject and object of
his own experiment, an experiment by which he himself is
transmuted." 42 -

Add Sticky NoteThe Asiatic
Brethren is an important subject, and crucial to
uncovering the occult roots of various secret societies that
appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, in the 18th Century.- The Asiatic Brethren - on 2008-09-15
-
In
fact, there is an entire site devoted to the subject, called
the "Authentic Tradition," which
has an unbelievable amount of research on the subject. -
The
"Asiatics" link together Hermeticism, Gnosticism,
Rosicrucianism, Templar Freemasonry, Jewish Cabalistic
Frankist/Sabbatian occultism and the Illuminati. -
That our
illuminated Prince was the Grand Master of the Asiatic Lodge
43 is significant: it definitively ties the
two secret societies together. -
St. Germain - Another intriguing connection
is that of the famous occultist and alchemist, St. Germain:
"[Germain] soon makes another interesting acquaintance -
Prince Karl of Hesse-Kassel, Governor of Schleswig-Holstein
and ardent Mason and occultist. -
St-Germain informs his new
friend that he will be a permanent houseguest. Karl is
reluctant, but finally agrees, and the two settle in
Schleswig, where they study chemistry and distribute herbal
remedies to the poor. -
Karl calls him 'the greatest
philosopher who ever lived,' and nicknames him 'Papa'. -
After five years, the Count catches pneumonia from his
draughty lab. He dies on 27 February 1784. Karl is away at a
Masonic conclave, but the death is witnessed by his doctor."
44 -
Add Sticky NoteMaurice the Learned - It is revealing to
note the long association of the Hessen-Kassel family to the
occult.- Generational "occultism" on the Hessen-Kassel family - on 2008-09-15
-
One particular ancestor is noteworthy. Karl is a direct descendant of "Maurice
the Learned" of Hesse-Cassel (Landgraf Moritz von
Hessen-Kassel, 1572-1632). Maurice procured the services of
Rosicrucians and Alchemists such as Johannes Rhenanus and
Michael Maier. -
The former served the Prince in many
capacities, "working first in his chemical laboratory and
towards the end of his life as the Prince's family doctor. He
was also the author of a number of Paracelsian and
iatrochemical texts (e.g. Urocriterium
Chymiatricum, Marburg, 1609) and clearly a practising
alchemist." 45 -
As for
the latter, Maier was a very important figure and
well-connected with many of the leading nobility of Europe
and other famous occultists such as Robert Fludd. -
Maier
produced an incredible amount of Rosicrucian/alchemical
treatises and became the court physician to Maurice around
1614. 46 -
Francis
Yates also underscores the fact that the town of Cassel is
where the Rosicrucian Manifestos were first published (1614
and 1615). 47 -
Hardly a
coincidence, Maurice had already founded the Collegium Mauritianum in
1599, which taught all sorts of advanced arcane studies -
while at the same time he controlled "an extensive hermetic
alchemical circle." 48 -
The
sudden open appearance of the Rosicrucians and their
manifestos - perplexing to most historians - isn't all that
mysterious in an environment such as existed under his rule. -

Rothschild - Prince Karl and the House of
Hesse represent the strongest connection yet between the
Rothschild Dynasty and the Illuminati. -
The two families had
such an intimate relationship that there's a strong
possibility for the Rothschilds having at least contributed
financially to the Bavarian Illuminati - if only in Karl's
name. -
Add Sticky NoteBeginning with Karl's father Friedrich (Friedrich II Landgraf
von Hessen-Kassel), the Hessen-Kassel Royal Family made a
fortune from leasing Hessen-Kassel mercenaries to various
monarchies:- Source of the Hessian troops Britain recruited against the American colonial patriots. - on 2008-09-15

"Hessen-Kassel contributed 16.000-23.000 men to
the Anglo-Prussian army"; -
"17,000 Hessians fought the rebels
in the WAR OF AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE - Count Friedrich
'earned' 20 million Thalers." 49 -
"His
banker, since 1783, was Frankfurt Jew MEYER AMSCHEL
ROTHSCHILD; by clever management of the fund he and his
sons made Friedrich's successor, WILHELM IX. (Karl's
brother), one of the wealthiest monarchs of his time."
(Ibid.; italic emphasis mine, caps in the original) -
From the Jewish
Encyclopedia: "Mayer [Amschel Rothschild] was a general
agent and banker, and traded also in works of art and curios. -
In the latter connection he became an agent of William
IX., Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel, who on his father's
death in 1785 had inherited the largest private fortune in
Europe, derived mainly from the hire of troops to the British
government for the putting down of the Revolution in the
United States." (italic emphasis mine) -
From the very beginning the
Rothschild patriarch sought to secure favor with the Hesse
Royal Family. -
In 1769, after a letter of flattery to Karl's
brother Prince William, Mayer Amschel Rothschild receives
permission to nail a gold-letter sign to his shop, which
read: "M. A. Rothschild, by appointment court factor to his
serene highness, Prince William of Hanau." (The Rothschilds Part 1) -
By 1816 after the Austrian minister of finance proposed the
Rothschilds receive official nobility, the Hesse Coat of Arms
became a key component: "The Rothschilds were asked to submit
a coat of arms, which Solomon did: -
it consisted in
quarterly: 1) or an eagle sable surcharged in dexter by a
field gules, 2) gules a leopard passant proper, 3) a lion
rampant, 4) azure, an arm bearing 5 arrows; in center a
shield of gules. -
The supporters were a greyhound and a
stork, the crest a coronet with a lion issuant. […]
The eagle alluded to Austria, the lion to
Hesse-Kassel." (Jewish Heraldry; bold emphasis
mine) -
The Hesse-Kassel mercenary blood-money, in turn, became the
catalyst for the beginning of the Rothschild family fortune. -
The Jewish
Encyclopedia informs us that Nathan Rothschild was on
such good terms with (Illuminati) Prince Dalberg, that
Napoleon had made him a member of the Electoral College of
Darmstadt in 1810. -
Meanwhile, the Landgrave of Hesse-Cassel
(William IX) had already fled to Denmark after the battle of
Jena in 1806. He sent his money "to Nathan in London, who in
1808 utilized it to purchase £800,000 worth of gold
from the East India Company, knowing that it would be needed
for Wellington's Peninsular campaign. -
He made no less than
four profits on this: (1) on the sale of Wellington's paper,
(2) on the sale of the gold to Wellington, (3) on its
repurchase, and (4) on forwarding it to Portugal. -
This was
the beginning of the great fortunes of the house, and its
early transactions may be divided into three stages, in each
of which Nathan was the guiding spirit: namely, (1) from 1808
to 1815, mainly the transmission of bullion from England to
the Continent for the use of the British armies and for
subventions to the allies; (2) from 1816 to 1818, 'bearing'
operations on the stock exchange on the loans needed for the
reconstruction of Europe after Napoleon's downfall; and (3)
from 1818 to 1848, the undertaking of loans and of refunding
operations, which were henceforth to be the chief enterprises
of the house." -

We know that Luke 21:25 tells us of signs in the heavens, and it reads as follows: “And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring.”
-
As Christians we believe these are signs from God, but the Illuminists, witches and astrologers believe they are omens; and they act accordingly.

Here let it be noted that the original Olympic Games in Greece, which took place centuries ago, were done in the nude.

Another Sign in the Heavens!

-
Then, something very peculiar begins to happen. Mars and Venus begin to move closer and closer to each other.

The two objects do not actually collide, but they appear to as a sign in the heavens.

As I seek the Lord in watching unto prayer, I sense a great and deep foreboding that seems to come from everywhere.

One example of this was mentioned briefly in the August 2008 Last Trumpet when I exposed Todd Bentley as a demon-possessed fraud. I have been condemned by some people for denouncing Bentley and have received hate mail in his defense.
-
I have a sound byte from one of Todd Bentley’s meetings, in which he says the following: “God told me to grab that lady’s crippled legs and bang them up and down on the platform like a baseball bat. I walked up and grabbed her legs and started to go bam, and then I banged her legs up and down on the platform. I asked God, ‘Why is the power not moving?’ And God said, ‘That’s because you haven’t kicked that woman in the face.’”
-
Another account regarding Bentley comes to us from Canada, where Bentley was invited to speak in a large Pentecostal church.
-
Add Sticky NoteThis church had a large air conditioning system with ceiling vents. Bentley was told that he could not turn on the air conditioner, because a large number of pigeons had nested in the air conditioner unit, so the system was down until the problem could be corrected. Todd Bentley went over and turned the A/C unit on anyway, and pigeon feathers began to pour out of the ceiling vents and float downward upon the congregation. Bentley tried to tell the congregation that it was a miracle of angel feathers floating down upon them.
- liar and false prophet - on 2008-09-10
-
He was kicked out of the church as a liar and deceiver and told to never come back! Thank God for people who have enough sense to see through this human devil!

Sadly, multitudes of ministers, especially from Europe, are flocking to Bentley’s meetings. We are that far gone!
-
Here let it be noted that there are now one million American citizens on the terrorist watch list, which is controlled by the Department of Homeland Security. (27)
-
In fact, many people still think we live in a free country.
-
People are so easily deceived in these last days, and our government is well aware of this condition.
-
The Department of Homeland Security has now been empowered to seize at will any and all electronic devices from passengers traveling to the United States. (28)
-
Add Sticky NoteSadly, we have become a nation that is far too dependent on electronic devices, and there is now strong evidence that the millions of cell phones operating at any given time are inducing severe and sharp lightening strikes.
- The multitude of cell phones operating at once in a given area are producing "severe and sharp lightening strikes." - on 2008-09-10
-
This is happening because cell phones are electromagnetic field carriers, which make them strong conductors.
-
Thunderbolts are attracted to such things, and the outcome can be deadly! (29)
-
There are now three billion people in this world using cell phones, and many of them are in use for long periods of time. Intense research has already indicated that the radiation from these phones induce brain-damaging tumors of the auditory nerve. (30)
-
Cell phones give off microwave radiation, which stresses the endothelial cells and damages the blood-brain barrier, which stops harmful substances in the blood from entering the brain. (31)
-
This last generation is one that is hooked on electronic devices in every avenue of life. Nearly everyone is cooking with microwave ovens, which produce cancer-causing free radicals in their food. Microwave ovens have a magnetron, which is a device that generates waves at about 2.45 gigahertz. The waves of radiation interact with the food, and the energy changes the polarity from positive to negative with each cycle of the wave. This happens millions of times per second, causing the molecules in the food to rotate and cause friction. It is this friction that produces the heat that cooks the food.
-
The vitamin and nutritional content of the food is completely deformed as molecules are forcefully torn apart. In the laboratory this is called “structural isomerism.” (32)
-
The following words are found in the advertisement: “The mobile device dubbed the Jesus Phone is about to have its second coming. The iPhone 3G, the new incarnation of Apple’s first foray into the mobile handset business, will go on sale in 22 countries.” (33)

On June 29th, 2008, the Associated Press released a story of a bizarre experiment that may now be taking place in Meyrin, Switzerland.
-
The largest atom-smasher ever built was to be switched on in August 2008. It will be ramped up to full capacity over a period of several months. This atomic collider cost 5.8 billion dollars to construct and is being called the largest scientific experiment in the history of the world.
-
The massive device is located 330 feet underground and is 17 miles in circumference. The device is being used to search for “dark energy” and additional dimensions.
-
It is seven times more powerful than the Fermilab in Chicago, Illinois.
-
Some physicists believe that the device could create a black hole that would engulf the earth or change the earth in other ways forever.
-
Dr. Walter L. Wagner, a physicist, said that a safety report regarding the device has several major flaws, and he is frantically trying to stop the project. He filed a lawsuit to halt the activation of the device, but his warnings have been rejected by the U.S. Government.
-
On June 24th, 2008, the U.S. Justice Department lawyers, representing the Department of Energy and the National Science Foundation, filed a motion to dismiss the case. (34)
-
The Bible warns us that something will shake the earth out of orbit some day. In Isaiah 13:13 we read as follows: “Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the Lord of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.” That day is rapidly approaching! Where will you spend eternity?
-
What kind of reaction will this device bring to the delicate balance that keeps the earth in place?
-
In closing, I want to sincerely thank all of you who support this end time prophetic ministry. I pray you will be blessed exceedingly. Remember to send your prayer requests as they will be individually taken to the throne of God by our prayer teams. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

In a first phase, he attempted to deal with the colonial contradiction by granting to the overseas territories a large autonomy within the French Union.
-
Yet, Charles de Gaulle was not the pawn the Anglo-Saxons had believed they could manipulate.
-
But it was already too late to save the French empire; the colonized people didn’t believe any longer in the promises of the Metropolitan France and demanded their independence. After victorious but fierce repression against those fighting for independence, de Gaulle decided to face reality, and in a rare show of political wisdom, he granted independence to each colony.
-
This turn about was perceived by most of those who brought him to power as a betrayal.
-
The CIA and NATO supported then all kinds of plots to eliminate him, among which a missed coup and some 40 attempts to murder him.
-
Add Sticky NoteHowever, certain of his followers approved of his political evolution. Around Charles Pasqua, they created the SAC (Civic action services), a militia to protect him.
- A private militia organized to protect deGaulle. - on 2008-09-07
-
Pasqua was both a Corsican bandit and a former resistant. He married the daughter of a Canadian bootlegger who made fortune during the prohibition and he directed the Ricard company who, after commercialising absinthe, a forbidden alcohol, won respectability by converting to the sales of another alcohol based on liquorice (anisette).
-
Add Sticky NoteThe company continued however to serve as a cover for all sorts of traffics connected to the New York Italian American family of the Genovese (and) that of Lucky Luciano.
- Again, the "Mob" and it's connections surface again as having ties with ad being used by Western governments to further their exclusive NWO policies. - on 2008-09-07
-
It is therefore not surprising that Pasqua called on Étienne Léandri (Ambassador of Luciano) to recruit the hands that constituted the Gaullist militia. A third man played an important role in the formation of the SAC, the former body guard of de Gaulle, Achille Peretti, also a Corsican.
-
Thus protected, de Gaulle designs an audacious national independence policy.
-
Even though asserting his belonging to the Atlantic camp, he questions the Anglo-Saxon leadership. He opposes the entry of the United Kingdom into the European common market (1961 and 1967); refuses the deployment of UN helmets into Congo (1961); encourages the Latin American states to become free of US imperialism (speech of Mexico, 1964); kicks NATO out France and withdraws from the Atlantic Alliance’s integrated command (1966); he condemns Israeli expansionism during the Six Day war (1967); supports independence of Quebec (Speech of Montreal 1967), etc.
-
Simultaneously, de Gaulle consolidated the power of France by endowing it with a military industrial-complex including a nuclear deterrent and guarantying its energy provisions.
-
He conveniently distanced the encumbering Corsicans of his entourage by entrusting them with foreign missions. Thus, Étienne Léandri became a leader of the ELF group (today Total), while Charles Pasqua the trusted man of the Francophone heads of State in Africa.
-
Add Sticky NoteConscious that he could not defy the Anglo-Saxons on all fronts at the same time, De Gaulle allied himself to the Rothschild family, choosing as Prime Minister, Georges Pompidou, who was the fondé de pouvoir of the bank.
- deGaulle and the Rothschilds - on 2008-09-07
-
The two men constituted an efficient tandem, the political audacity of the first never losing sight of the economic realism of the second.
-
When De Gaulle resigned in 1969, Georges Pompidou succeeded him briefly at the Presidency before being taken out by a cancer. The historical Gaullists did not admit his leadership, however, and worried about his anglophile proclivities.
-
They howled treason when Pompidou, supported by the General Secretary of the Élysée, Edouard Balladur, had “perfidious Albion” join the European Common Market.
-
The making of Nicolas Sarkozy
-
Add Sticky NoteBorn in 1955 he is son to a Hungarian catholic nobleman, Pal Sarkösy of Nagy-Bosca, who sought refuge in France after fleeing the Red Army, and to Andree Mallah, a Jewish commoner from Thessalonica.
- Sarkozy then is Hungarian on his father's side and a Greek Jew on his Mother's. - on 2008-09-07
-
That decorum having been put into place, we can now return to our main character, Nicolas Sarkozy.
-
After having three children (Guillaume, Nicolas and François), the couple divorced. Pal Sarkösy of Nagy-Bocsa remarried with an aristocrat, Christine de Ganay, with whom he had two children (Pierre Olivier and Caroline).
-
Nicolas will not be raised by his own parents alone, but will go back and forth within this recomposed family.
-
His mother became the secretary of De Gaulle’s bodyguard, Achille Peretti. The latter, after founding the SAC, pursued a brilliant political career. He was elected Deputy and Mayor of Neuilly sur Seine, the richest residential suburb of the capital, and later President of the National Assembly.
-
Add Sticky NoteUnfortunately, in 1972, Achille Peretti comes under grave accusations. In the United States, Time Magazine reveals the existence of a secret criminal organization « the Corsican Union » which controls a large part of the drug trade between Europe and America, the famous « French connection » which Hollywood popularized on the large screen.
- The "French Connection" - on 2008-09-07
-
Based on parliamentary auditions and on his own investigations, Time names the name of a mafia boss, Jean Venturi, arrested a few years earlier in Canada, who is none other than Charles Pasqua’s commercial delegate at the liquor society Ricard.
-
The names of several families headed by the “Corsican Union” are cited, among which that of the Peretti. Achille denies, but is forced to renounce to the presidency of the National Assembly, and barely escapes a “suicide”…
-
Add Sticky NoteIn 1977, Pal Sarkösy of Nagy-Bocsa separates from his second wise, Christine de Ganay, who then gets together with the N°2 of the US State Department central administration. She marries him and settles in America with him. The world being very small, as everyone knows, her husband is none other than Frank Wisner, Jr, son of the previous.
- Sarkozy's step mom, Christine de Ganay married the No-2 at the U.S. State Department, Frank Wisner, Jr..".son of the previous." - on 2008-09-07
-
Junior’s responsibilities at the CIA are unknown, but it is clear that he plays an important role.
-
Nicolas, who remains close to his mother in law, his half brother and his half sister, begins to turn towards the United States where he “benefits” from training programs of the State Department.
-
During that same period, Nicolas Sarkozy adheres to the Gaullist party coming into frequent contact with Charles Pasqua, who was not only a national leader then, but also the head of the party’s Haut de Seine department section.
-
Having finished Law School in 1982 and joined the Barr association, Nicolas Sarkozy married the niece of Achille Peretti. His best man was Charles Pasqua.
-
As a lawyer, Sarkozy defended the interests of his mentors Corsican friends. He bought a property on the Island of Beauty, in Vico, and went as far as envisaging to make his name more “Corsican” by replacing the “y” by an “i”: Sarkozi.
-
The next year, he was elected Mayor of Neuilly sur Seine in replacement of his uncle in law, Achille Peretti, thundered by a heart attack.
-
However, it was not long before Nicolas Sarkozy betrayed his wife, and since 1984, he had a secret liaison with Cecilia, the wife of the most famous entertainer of French television at that time, Jacques Martin, whom he had met while celebrating their marriage, a function he exerted being mayor of Neuilly.
-
That double life lasted five years, before the lovers decided to quit their respective couples in order to build a new home.
-
In 1992, Nicolas was best man in the marriage of Jacques Chirac’s daughter, Claude, with an editorialist of Le Figaro.
-
He couldn’t refrain himself from seducing Claude and having a short liaison with her, while officially living with Cecilia.
-
The cuckold husband committed suicide by absorbing drugs. The break was brutal and without pardon between the Chirac’s and Nicolas Sarkozy.
-
In 1993, the left lost the legislative elections. President François Mitterrand refused to resign and entered into cohabitation with a right wing Prime Minister.
-
Jacques Chirac who ambitioned the presidency, and was thinking at that point of constituting, with Edoaurd Balladur, a couple comparable to that of De Gaulle and Pompidou, refused to be Prime minister and left his post to his “30 year long friend”, Edouard Balladur.
-
Add Sticky NoteIn spite of his sulphurous past, Charles Pasqua became Interior Minister. While keeping high hand over Moroccan marijuana trade, he took advantage of his situation to legalize his other activities taking control of casinos, gambling and horse races in francophone Africa.

-
He wove ties with Saudi Arabia and Israel and became an officer of honour to the Mossad. Nicolas Sarkozy on his part, became minister of Budget and spokesman for the government.
-
Add Sticky NoteIn Washington, Frank Wisner, Jr. became the successor of Paul Wolfowitz as head of the Political Planning department of the Department of Defense. Nobody noticed at that time the ties to the spokesman of the French government.
- Frank Wisener, Jr and the U.S. DoD - on 2008-09-07
-
It is then that tensions similar to those which rocked the Gaullist party 30 years earlier, broke out between the historical Gaullists and the financial right wing, incarnated by Balladur.
-
Add Sticky NoteThe new element was that Charles Pasqua and along with him, the young Nicolas Sarkozy, betray Jacques Chirac in order to join the Rothschild current.
- Rothschild again - on 2008-09-07
-
Mayhem breaks out. The conflict will reach a climax in 1995 when Edouard Balladur ran for president, against his former friend, Jacques Chirac, and was beaten. Foremost, following instructions from London and Washington, the Balladur government opened negotiations for membership status to the European Union and NATO to States of Central and Eastern Europe who had freed from Soviet control.
-
Havoc reigns then in the Gaullist party where the friends of yesterday are ready to kill themselves today. To be able to finance his electoral campaign, Edouard Balladur attempts to grab the secret slush fund of the Gaullist party, hidden in the double deckered accounting of the books of the oil group ELF.
-
The ride through the desert
-
Through out his first mandate, Jacques Chirac keeps Nicolas Sarkozy at arms distance. The man was discrete during his ride through the desert. Discretely, however, he continued to weave ties to the financial circles.
In 1996, finally succeeding to bring to conclusion an endless divorce procedure, Nicolas Sarkozy marries Cecilia. Two billionaires were their best men, Martin Bouygues and Bernard Arnaud (the richest man of the country).
-
The final act
-
Way before the Iraqi crisis, Frank Wisner Jr. and his colleagues at the CIA plan the destruction of the Gaullist current and the coming to power of Nicolas Sarkozy.
-
They move in three phases: first, the elimination of the leadership of the Gaullist party and the take over of the party apparatus, then the elimination of his main right wing rival and the securing the nomination to the presidential election for the Gaullist party; finally, the elimination of any serious challenger on the left to make sure that Nicolas would win the presidential election.
-
Before dying from a terminal disease, for reasons which remain unknown, he decided to video tape his confessions and for reasons which are even more obscure, the “cassette” landed in the hands of a Socialist party leader, Dominique Strauss Kahn, who addressed it indirectly to the media.
-
During years, posthumous revelations by a real estate dealer kept the media on their toes.
-
While the confessions of the real estate dealer did not lead to any juridical sanctions, they opened up the Pandora’s Box.
-
The main victim of the series of scandals was Prime Minister Alain Juppé. To protect Chirac, he assumed alone all the penal sanctions. The removal of Juppé from the front lodges opened the way for the take by Sarkozy of the leadership of the Gaullist party.
-
Sarkozy exploited then his position to force Jacques Chirac to take him into the government once again, in spite of their reciprocal hatred.
-
This post gave him control over the prefects and the internal intelligence apparatus which he used to gain positions of power over the large administrations.
-
In the end, he became Interior Minister. Mistake !
-
He dealt also with Corsican affairs. Prefect Claude Érignac was murdered. Even though nobody claimed it, the murder was immediately interpreted as a challenge by the independentists to the Republic.
-
Add Sticky NoteFollowing a long hunt, the police managed to arrest a fleeing suspect, Yvan Colonna, son of a Socialist deputy. Caring little about the presumption of innocence, Nicolas Sarkozy announced the arrest, accusing the suspect of being the assassin.
- Another rail road job? - on 2008-09-07
-
The news is too important, a mere two days away from the referendum the minister has organized in Corsica to modify the status of the island. Be as it may, the electors reject the Sarkozy project, who, according to some, favoured mafia interests.
-
While Yvan Colonna was ultimately declared guilty, he always claimed his innocence and no material proof was ever found against him. Strangely, the man preferred to remain totally silent rather than reveal what he actually knew.
-
Add Sticky NoteWe reveal here that prefect Érignac was not directly killed by the nationalists, but by a paid killer, immediately exfiltrated towards Angola where he was hired to the security of the Elf group.

-
As for Yvan Colonna, he is a personal friend of Nicolas Sarkozy since decades and their children have entertained social relations.
-
A new scandal broke out then: phoney computer listings were circulating falsely accusing several personalities of hiding bank accounts in Luxembourg, at Clearstream.

Add Sticky NoteIt remained for the opposition candidacies to be neutralized. The membership fees to the Socialist party were reduced to a symbolic level in order to attract new activists. It is not the first time the “Lambertists” infiltrate the Socialist party. They introduced there two notorious CIA agents : Lionel Jospin (who became Prime minister) and Jean Christophe Cambadelis, the main advisor to Dominique Strauss Kahn.
-
Primaries were organized inside the Socialist party to designate its candidate to the presidential election.
-
Two personalities were competing: Laurent Fabius and Ségolène Royal. Only the first was a danger for Sarkozy.

Dominique Strauss Kahn came into the race with the mission to eliminate Fabius at the last moment. Something he did with the help of the votes of the infiltrated “lambertists”, who voted not for him but for Royal.

-
The evening of the second round of the presidential election, when polling agencies announced his probable victory, Nicolas Sarkozy gave a short speech to the nation from his general campaign quarters. Then, contrary to all custom, he didn’t celebrate with the militants of his party, but went to the Fouquet’s.
-
The famous brasserie at the Champs-Élysées, formerly the place of rendez-vous of the “Corsican union” is today the property of Casino magnate, Dominique Desseigne. It was lent to the elected president to receive his friends and main campaign donors. Some hundred guests crowded there, the richest men of France hobnobbing with the casino bosses.
-
The elected president then offered himself some days of well merited rest.
-
Transported to Malta by a private Falcon 900, he relaxed on the Paloma, a 65 m yacht of his friend Vincent Bollore, a billionaire trained at the Rothschild bank.
-
Finally, Nicolas Sarkozy was inaugurated president of the French Republic.
-
The first decree he signed was not to enact an amnesty, but to authorize the casinos of his friends Desseigne and Partouche to multiply the money machines.

European leaders warned Russia today to withdraw forces rapidly from Georgia or face unspecified "consequences", as Moscow stalled on its pledges to honour a ceasefire and pull back thousands of troops from the Caucasus republic.
-
With the US and European governments due to meet on Tuesday to consider their options for the first time since the crisis erupted, the French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, threatened the Kremlin with an ultimatum for the first time, warning that more delays to a pullout "would have serious consequences on relations between Russia and the European Union".
-
The French warning echoed similar statements from the Americans in recent days, none of which appear to have rattled the Russians, whose forces remain in firm control of large tracts of Georgia well beyond the two separatist enclaves of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
-
"People are going to begin to wonder if Russia can be trusted," Condoleezza Rice, the US secretary of state, said today of the Russian failure to keep its promises.
-
The German chancellor, Angela Merkel, added her voice to the pressure on Moscow after holding talks with the Georgian president, Mikheil Saakashvili, in the capital, Tbilisi. She described a Russian retreat as "urgent" and said it should be "very fast, very prompt".
-
In Moscow, President Dmitri Medvedev told Sarkozy the Russians would start pulling out tomorrow. But there is a yawning gap between what the Russians and the west understand by withdrawal.
-
Today, Russian forces appeared to be entrenching their positions on the ground barely 20 miles from Tbilisi.
-
Nato foreign ministers are to hold an emergency meeting in Brussels on Tuesday.
-
The Americans could call for a suspension of the Nato-Russia council, a talking shop that dates back more than a decade and symbolises the post-cold war rapprochement that has been shaken by the invasion of Georgia.
-
The conflict has reopened old rifts among the western allies that recall the old Europe-new Europe divisions over the Iraq war in 2003.
-
France and Germany are keen to maintain smooth relations with Moscow and fear the EU's mediation role will be jeopardised if they take sides.
-
The eastern Europeans in Nato and the EU are strongly on the side of Georgia, looking not to Brussels, Paris or Berlin but to Washington for leadership.
-
The Polish president, Lech Kaczynski, slammed France and Germany for being too soft on Moscow and complained they were trying to monopolise the EU position.
-
France was unapologetic. "We have to invent a new language with regard to Russia. That is what the European Union is trying to do," said Bernard Kouchner, the French foreign minister.
-
Sarkozy, the current EU president who negotiated a six-point ceasefire agreement with the Russians and Georgians last week, called for the "withdrawal, without delay, of all the Russian military forces that entered Georgia since August 7" when the fighting started.
-
The Russians, with an estimated 10,000 troops and 150 tanks in Georgia, show no intention of withdrawing the entire invasion force and are planning to leave troops in Georgia proper, beyond the two pro-Russian breakaway provinces.
-
The Kremlin announced that from tomorrow "Russia will begin the withdrawal of the military contingent which was moved to reinforce Russian peacekeepers after the Georgian aggression against South Ossetia." But it stressed that the invasion force would not retreat to Russia but only to South Ossetia, and that Moscow would keep forces in the "security zone".
-
The Russians intend to establish buffer zones in previously Georgian-controlled territory beyond South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
-
One of the most contentious points of Sarkozy's ceasefire plan allows Moscow "to take additional security measures" beyond the two enclaves until "an international mechanism" is established.
-
Sarkozy said this weekend that meant there could be no Russian presence in Georgian urban centres. But the Russians take the point as carte blanche to mount security patrols outside South Ossetia and to keep forces deployed in Georgia.
-
Saakashvili insisted today that he would not be happy until the last Russian soldier had left. "Georgia will never give up a square kilometer of its territory," he said.
-
The "international mechanism", entailing perhaps UN-mandated international peacekeepers, will take weeks to establish at a minimum.
-
The EU is endeavouring to be the main middleman. But apart from perhaps sending a few dozen unarmed ceasefire monitors in the days ahead, it is unlikely to grapple with the bigger issues of peacekeepers until EU foreign ministers meet in Avignon in France next month.

How far do we take this caution though?
-
A large portion of ufologists, most of the individuals who have worked in researching/conducting remote viewing, and also a significant portion of parapsychologists, all have fairly strong links to military or intelligence groups.
-
Should we therefore be highly skeptical of the claims made in regards to each topic, even if it seems scientifically sound?
-
Jacques Vallee: The same standards should apply here that apply in science generally: Look at the evidence behind every claim, track down the references, and test the data yourself.
-
People linked to the intelligence community of the major countries have been closely involved in studying UFO cases since World War Two.
-
That interest is legitimate, whether it is purely personal (as most of them claim) or related to their official duties. The same is true in parapsychology.
-
This only becomes a problem when that quasi-official interest goes beyond pure research and extends to actually faking sightings, disseminating false photographs or films and promoting weird beliefs, either to serve as distraction from actual intelligence operations, or as a cover for the development of advanced prototypes.
-
A good example is given by the claims of UFOs seen over the USSR in the seventies, that were planted by the KGB to cover-up the launching of soviet satellites that violated the SALT treaties.
-
Every nation can play this game, and has.
-
TDG: When we look at ufology in the 1960s, versus today, I'm not sure a lot of progress has been made (perhaps even the opposite).
-
Is ufology a sisyphean endeavour, unworthy of our prolonged attention?
-
You've personally devoted almost 50 years of research and writing to exploring the phenomenon - can you give a simple opinion to the question: what is behind the UFO phenomenon?
-
Jacques Vallee: You’re asking me two different questions here.
-
I have convinced myself that there was a real UFO phenomenon once the errors,
hoaxes and occasional manipulations were screened out. -
We do know a great deal more today than we did just 10 years ago, thanks to dedicated researchers who have invested their time and resources to documenting the data. That is not as good as a serious scientific research effort, but one should never underestimate what can be achieved by motivated amateurs.
-
This being said, it would be unrealistic to expect quick solutions, in this field as in any other scientific endeavor.
-
I have also been interested in the nature of consciousness, and that field has not gotten closer to a solution in fifty years either.
-
Similarly, look at some of the lingering enigmas in archaeology, or in medicine: all we can do is document our data and hope someone will make sense of it at a later time.
-
TDG: Turning to another aspect of your research that has made you a 'heretic' within ufology: You were one of the first to explore the idea that UFO events were as much 'psychic' in nature as 'physical'.
-
Can you detail some of these 'psychic' aspects, and what you think the cause is?
-
Jacques Vallee: This is still a little-known aspect of the sightings because most investigators don’t probe into this area, either for lack of background in parapsychology, or simply because they think they already know the answer, and it must involve simple “nuts and bolts” spacecraft.
-
It takes a very brave witness to bring up such experiences in the face of skeptical researchers.
-
I don’t believe a UFO observation makes anyone “psychic,” to use the popular terminology, but the phenomenon comes in an environment of manifestations that include heightened awareness of synchronicities, paranormal sounds and lights and occasionally absurd coincidences similar to those described in the poltergeist literature.
-
TDG: On that note, Margaret Mead once wrote: "When we want to understand something strange, something previously unknown, we have to begin with an entirely different set of questions. What is it? How does it work? Are there recurrent regularities?"
-
I've been intrigued myself with some of these "recurrent regularities" when it comes to paranormal phenomenon - in particular the strange sounds heard, although there are other things such as strange fogs, odd tastes and smells in the mouth -
-
but find it odd that ufology research doesn't seem to address these so much.
-
From your own research, have you been able to identify such "recurrent regularities", which to me would provide solid evidence that there is some sort of objective, structured phenomenon at work here?
-
Jacques Vallee: The phenomenon is very robust in its manifestations, both physical and physiological.
-
The former can be seen when plotting the time of day when observations are made (the “Law of the Times”) and the development of specific waves or flaps.
-
Physical traces, interference with car ignition, patterns of light phenomena and energy have all been documented by serious authors.
-
The physiological factors include evidence of exposure to UV radiation, frequent effects on the eyes (from conjunctivitis to temporary blindness), skin blisters or injuries in reaction to focused beams of light, temporary inhibition of muscle control, disturbances in the sleep cycle, and general fatigue and anemia lasting over 7 days and life-threatening in some extreme cases.
-
TDG: Despite these intriguing pieces of evidence though, 'skeptics' (of the CSICOPian kind) still tend to write off ufology as a mass of "Venus sightings".
-
Is the skeptical/rationalist movement - and academia in general - guilty of ignoring the phenomenon based almost purely on intellectual ego and fear of embarrassment? And is there a danger that by alienating themselves (pardon the pun) from the experiences of the public, they will actually enable those very beliefs?
-
As you rightly note in Messengers of Deception, "When the Establishment is rational, absurdity is dynamite."
-
Jacques Vallee: By denying the reality of the reports, brushing aside the witnesses (including trained observers like pilots or military personnel) and treating them like fools or crooks, the academic skeptics are actually teaching the public that science is impotent at studying the phenomenon.
-
As the belief in the reality of UFOs grows among the population along with the evidence that a real phenomenon exists, people naturally tend to turn away from science in their search for answers, and that is a very dangerous trend.
-
TDG: Similarly, in Messengers of Deception you note that "the experience of a close encounter with a UFO is a shattering physical and mental ordeal".
-
Are UFO experiencers unfairly shunned (and worse, ridiculed) by medical and psychological support networks, based simply on the nature of their experience?
-
Jacques Vallee: What these people go through is worse than being shunned. In most cases, they are left to fend for themselves, and they become easy preys for groups with quick answers.
-
In the words of a woman who wrote to me after she had a horrible experience she interpreted as an alien abduction, followed by a series of disastrous hypnotic sessions at the hands of incompetent researchers, “the ufologists were worse than the beings who abducted me.”
-
The vacuum that has been created by academic neglect is getting filled by all kinds of irrational belief systems, often linked to conspiracy theories and political paranoia. That was true when I wrote the book thirty years ago, and it is even more true now.
-
Jacques Vallee was born in France, where he received a B.S. in mathematics at the Sorbonne and an M.S. in astrophysics at Lille University.
-
Coming to the U.S. as an astronomer at the University of Texas, where he co-developed the first computer-based map of Mars for NASA,
-
Jacques later moved to Northwestern University where he received his Ph.D. in computer science.
-
He went on to work at SRI International and the Institute for the Future, where he directed the project to build the world's first network-based groupware system as a Principal Investigator on Arpanet, the prototype for the Internet.
-
He is now a venture capitalist, and lives in San Francisco. He continues to research the UFO phenomenon.

-
WASHINGTON -- President George W. Bush dispatched Navy ships and Air Force planes to deliver aid to war-torn Georgia, bringing a dose of Cold War-style brinksmanship to the confrontation between the U.S. and Russia.
-
The move, which marked a sudden shift in the U.S. response to the crisis, put U.S. and Russian military forces in close proximity amid an ongoing conflict -- a rare event even in the decades when the U.S. faced off against the Soviet Union around the world.
-
Despite a Tuesday cease-fire brokered by the French, Russian troops followed by irregular fighters pushed deep into Georgia, seizing the strategic city of Gori and cutting the main highway that crosses the country to the capital, Tbilisi.
-
Mr. Bush said he would send Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice to meet personally with Georgian officials in Tbilisi and "convey America's unwavering support for Georgia's democratic government."
-
Both U.S. and Georgian officials employed Cold War language to bolster their positions, with frequent references to the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.
-
The Russians, firing back, said the U.S. would have to choose between its support of Georgia and winning the support of Russia for other international endeavors, such as containing Iran.
-
Still, both sides appeared to be calibrating their moves carefully to avoid direct hostilities.
-
Mr. Bush's move to provide humanitarian assistance may have been geared in part to assuage critics at home and reassure allies abroad.
-
Russian officials said they were abiding by the terms of the cease-fire, which they contend doesn't call for an immediate troop pullout.
-

EPA Refugees rest on the outskirts of Gori Wednesday before continuing their flight from Russian troops. President Bush said the U.S. will use military aircraft and naval forces to deliver aid to Georgia. -
Fighting broke out last week between Russian and Georgian forces over the breakaway republic of South Ossetia, which is closely tied to Russia.
-
The Bush administration has been a vocal backer of Georgia -- a former Soviet state that has pursued democracy, and is a key conduit to the West for Central Asian oil.
-
Moscow has feuded with Georgia for years, and has long backed Georgia's two separatist territories.
-
Daring Russia
-
Russian troops on Wednesday fanned into the countryside near Gori, where local militias drove ethnic Georgians from their villages and burned houses, according to fleeing residents and witnesses from Human Rights Watch, the civil-liberties group.
-
Mr. Bush cited reports that Russian armored vehicles are blocking access to the port of Poti, and that "Russia is blowing up Georgian vessels" there.
-
The Bush administration has concluded that Russia is not abiding by the peace deal brokered by French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
-
Mr. Bush is demanding that both sides pull their forces back to where they were before the hostilities began. "We insist that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia be respected," Mr. Bush said.
-
The White House, in essence, is employing mercy missions to Georgia -- with echoes of the 1948 Berlin airlift -- to reassert its security interests in the Caucasus, daring Russia to block the U.S. diplomatic and relief efforts.
-
"We expect Russia to honor its commitment to let in all forms of humanitarian assistance," Mr. Bush said.
-
The president repeated his warning that Russia's actions are risking its place in international organizations. Other officials say those could include its membership in the Group of Eight, and its prospective membership in the World Trade Organization.
-
Already, Russia has set up a de facto blockade outside Poti.
-
When five leaders of Eastern European countries tried to fly into the Georgian capital of Tbilisi on Tuesday, Russia refused to allow them to land. Instead, they had to land in neighboring Azerbaijan, and drive to Georgia.
-
The U.S. sent a C-17 cargo plane, which arrived unmolested in Tbilisi on Wednesday night, carrying 31 metric tons of gear, ranging from medical equipment to cots, sleeping bags and sheets.
-
Another plane is expected to arrive Thursday with additional medical supplies, including 104,000 doses of antibiotics. The State Department is also moving in thousands of blankets, tents and jerrycans.
-
Mr. Bush's statements Wednesday contrasted with the tone of remarks by top administration officials on Tuesday, when Russia appeared ready to accept a cease-fire and remove its forces from Georgia. Bush aides said that if Russia withdrew, no clear consequences would flow from the invasion.
-
Reports of continuing Russian troop movements prompted the White House to get much tougher.
-
President Bush spent the morning in the White House Situation Room with his top security advisers. He announced he was sending Ms. Rice to Europe, and then on to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi.
-
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili later said Mr. Bush told him he was up throughout the night weighing the move.
-
Ms. Rice, in a news conference, echoed the tougher tone. "This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia, where Russia can threaten a neighbor, occupy a capital, overthrow a government and get away with it," she said. "Things have changed."
-
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused the U.S. of ignoring Georgia's aggression in attacking South Ossetia, describing Georgia's leadership as "a special project of the United States."
-
He told reporters that Russian forces Wednesday had not targeted Georgian ships in Poti, and that military actions within the country were aimed at eliminating large troves of ammunition and supplies left behind by fleeing Georgian troops.
-
The French government said Russian President Dmitry Medvedev had reiterated that Russia was abiding by the six-point cease-fire agreement. Among other things, the pact calls for a lasting end to hostilities, and international discussions on the future of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the two Georgian regions that sparked the conflict.
-
Georgian President Saakashvili praised the U.S. move to help, terming it "long overdue" but "very strong."
-
Mr. Saakashvili said Mr. Bush's offer was critical to defeating a Russian tactic of shutting down Georgia's airports and ports in order to squeeze its economy and demoralize its population.
-
Those tactics, he said, were designed to secure "all of Georgia" for Russia, and to force a change of government.
-
Mr. Saakashvili said Mr. Medvedev twice pressed the French president, Mr. Sarkozy, to make the removal of Mr. Saakashvili part of Tuesday's cease-fire deal, but that Mr. Sarkozy had refused.
-
A person close to the French president confirmed Mr. Medvedev's negotiating stance.
-
The U.S. remains constrained in its options. Ms. Rice sought to damp suggestions that U.S. troops would somehow be securing Georgian territory and infrastructure. "It's not the intention of the U.S. to take control of facilities" in Georgia, she said.
-
Likely Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain, who has long taken a hawkish position on Russia, said he supports the steps outlined by President Bush. In an opinion piece published in The Wall Street Journal Thursday, Sen. McCain backed an independent peacekeeping force in the separatist regions. (See article on page A13.)
-
Humanitarian Response
-
Many aspects of the U.S. humanitarian response remain unclear.
-
The Navy's chief hospital ship, the USNS Comfort, was in its home port of Baltimore and would take weeks to arrive in the Black Sea. Navy officials said that any Navy excursion to the Georgian Black Sea coast would be restricted by a 1936 convention governing the size and type of naval vessels that can pass through the Bosporus.
-
"I strongly doubt that [Russian Prime Minister Vladimir] Putin is going to be deterred by the prospect of a U.S. humanitarian effort," said Frederick Kagan of the conservative American Enterprise Institute.
-
Some experts said the U.S. hasn't gone far enough.
-
Mr. Kagan suggested the U.S. could resupply the beleaguered Georgian military, call a session of the former Group of Seven leaders, halt negotiations over Russia's accession to the WTO, and accelerate reconsideration of Georgia's NATO application.
-
A long-term and more symbolic option would be to threaten a boycott of the 2014 Olympics to be held in the Russian resort of Sochi.
-
Russian forces have targeted key Georgian military assets, ranging from Poti to the military base of Senaki, the first base built explicitly to NATO standards.
-
Any move to rebuild the Georgian army would set the U.S. on a collision course with Russia, which has objected to such U.S. military assistance.
-
Pentagon officials said they were sending in an assessment team to analyze what was needed.
-
Ms. Rice's arrival in Paris on Thursday will help fill a U.S. diplomatic void.
-
Washington is Georgia's firmest supporter in the West, strongly backing its NATO candidacy and providing its military with advisers and equipment. But the Bush administration has played a backseat role since the fighting erupted, ceding the diplomatic lead to France and others within the European Union.

The Association of the Sovereign Order of the Temple of Christ, whose members claim to be descended from the legendary crusaders, have filed a lawsuit against Benedict XVI calling for him to recognise the seizure of assets worth 100 billion euros (£79 billion).
-
They claim that when the order was dissolved by his predecessor Pope Clement V in 1307, more than 9,000 properties as well as countless pastures, mills and other commercial ventures belonging to the knights were appropriated by the church.
-
But their motive is not to reclaim damages only to restore the "good name" of the Knights Templar.
-
"We are not trying to cause the economic collapse of the Roman Catholic Church, but to illustrate to the court the magnitude of the plot against our Order," said a statement issued by the self-proclaimed modern day knights.
-
The Templars was a powerful secretive group of warrior monks founded by French knight Hugues de Payens after the First Crusade of 1099 to protect pilgrims en route to Jerusalem.
-
They amassed enormous wealth and helped to finance wars waged by European monarchs, but spectacularly fell from grace after the Muslims reconquered the Holy Land in 1244 and rumours surfaced of their heretic practices.
-
The Knights were accused of denying Jesus, worshipping icons of the devil in secret initiation ceremonies, and practising sodomy.
-
Many Templars confessed to their crimes under torture and some, including the Grand Master Jacques de Molay, were burned at the stake.
-
The legal move by the Spanish group comes follows the unprecedented step by the Vatican towards the rehabilitation of the group when last October it released copies of parchments recording the trials of the Knights between 1307 and 1312.
-
The papers lay hidden for more than three centuries having been "misfiled" within papal archives until they were discovered by an academic in 2001.
-
The Chinon parchment revealed that, contrary to historic belief, Clement V had declared the Templars were not heretics but disbanded the order anyway to maintain peace with their accuser, King Philip IV of France.
-
Over the centuries, various groups have claimed to be descended from the Templars and legend abounds over hidden treasures, secret rituals, and their rumoured guardianship of the Holy Grail.
-
Most recently the knights have fascinated the modern generation after being featured in the film Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Dan Brown's novel The Da Vinci Code.
