Despite news reports that the security contractor formerly known as Blackwater has seen its contracts dry up and its influence wane, the company continues to do brisk business in Iraq and Afghanistan --

and the Obama administration may be too afraid of the firm to do anything about it, says investigative reporter Jeremy Scahill.

"You know who's guarding Hillary Clinton in Afghanistan right now? Blackwater," Scahill told MSNBC's Rachel Maddow Tuesday night.

"You know who guards members of Congress? Blackwater.

CIA, State Department, Defense Department. Why is President Obama keeping these guys on the payroll?

They have half a billion dollars in contracts in Afghanistan right now.

Scahill was on The Rachel Maddow Show discussing the New York Times' revelation that senior Blackwater executives allegedly arranged for bribes of up to $1 million for Iraqi politicians in a bid to retain its contracts and silence criticism of the company in the wake of the Nissour Square massacre in 2007, in which 17 Iraqi civilians died after Blackwater guards opened fire.

Though the Times report stated that it's unknown if the approved bribes ever reached their targets -- Iraqi politicians -- Scahill drew a connection between the alleged bribes and the fact that, after the Nissour Sqaure massacre, the Iraqi government first decided to bar Blackwater from operating in the country, and then reversed its position.

"You had the Iraqi government saying Blackwater was banned from that country, then suddenly doing an about face, and Blackwater remains in Iraq to this day," Scahill said.

That sentiment was echoed by Spencer Ackerman at the Washington Independent, who also suggested a link between the alleged bribes and Blackwater's continued presence in Iraq. "Now we have some inkling of why the Iraqis allowed the firm to stay," Ackerman blogged.

Scahill suggested that the security firm's deep and continued involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars means the company could potentially embarrass any administration with the things it can reveal.

"Another way of looking at this is Blackwater knows where a lot of bodies are buried," Scahill told Maddow.

"These are guys who worked on the CIA assassination program, the drone bombing campaign, and regarding all of the senior officals, they know a heck of a lot about what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those are not guys that you want on the other side of the fence if you're running Washington."

Scahill dismissed as "nonsense" the idea that Blackwater continues to have contracts because its services can't be carried out by regular military forces.

Sightings are being reported again in Cherokee county of the tall, hairy creature with a face resembling a human and a strong stench - Bigfoot.

“I feel like Faye Ray here,” said Sheryl Mast, of the Gideon community. Bigfoot is a common reference to an uncommon and unexplained occurrence.

People seeing it may assume the creature is a bear or choose to not tell anyone about what they saw. After all who would believe them?
-
Sightings have been reported in almost every state and many countries, of a creature known as Yeti in Asia, Yowie in Australia, Sasquatch in Canada and Chiya tanka by the Lakota Indians.

Bigfoot prefers mountainous and forested regions.
-
This time north of Tahlequah on rural State Highway 82 at Gideon, near Peggs, experiences include the thud of heavy footsteps running and shaking the ground, large footprints in the mud and a very strong, musky odor.

Urban legends abound and can be tracked worldwide on the Internet from sworn affidavit accounts to obvious nonsense.

But in an area known as Muphy’s Hill, between two branches of 14-Mile Creek, Sheryl Mast is sure she didn’t imagine the loud bang against the side of the trailer and the terrible smell.

She’s lived there about a year. The closest neighbors are about five miles away, other than a second trailer that sets besides her boyfriends’, where a friend lives.
-
The Bigfoot is curious, Mast said, and is getting to be a regular visitor. “It’s getting bolder, coming out in the daytime,” she said.

“Sunday afternoon the wind shifted and we smelled it.”
-
Mast said she went up in the front part of the yard by the lane, where her dog was upset in a pen. “She was crying and moaning and squealing and I found a beer bottle in the pen,” she said. “Something broke the whole door almost in half.”

A beer can was found in the area where trash is burned, “and none of us drink,” said Mast.

On previous visits the Bigfoot has left small signs of being in the area. “It tore a branch off a tree in May,” Mast said. “And I think it threw our little dog against the trailer. When I opened the door it was panting and kept coughing for two days.”

The dogs usually chase people, she noticed, “but they get really quiet when this thing is around.”

Mast said the first time the Bigfoot came was around was in February. Their friend moved into the trailer in March. “He said he heard a deep, low growl and something shook his trailer,” Mast said.

One night they were outside talking and the dogs got still. Then the little dog started barking and chasing something tall and furry, which they saw running between the trailers. They went inside and locked the door.

“It banged on the door,” she said. “Then we could hear and feel heavy footsteps running away.”

There were no markings or dents left on the trailer, but this is when the little dog may have been, “picked up and tossed at the trailer,” Mast said.

“It would have to be really big, have big hands, to pick up that little Jack Russell and throw it.” A lock hanging on the door was knocked or thrown and later found under the trailer

Two weeks ago she said the whole trailer shook. It only lasted five minutes, she said, “but we were scared to death.”

They looked outside with a lantern but only smelled a strong musky odor. Mast thinks the location of the two trailers between two creeks may bother the creature, that they’re in its way.

There’s a path worn in the tall grass leading down the hill and to the woods, Mast said with, “a mashed down area where something has been laying. “We have no deer here and that’s strange for this area and by two creeks.”

“So many appearances make me think we’re getting closer to a confrontation,” she said.

She’s not so much afraid, as uncomfortable.

“You know the feeling something is watching you. It gives you tingles.” It makes you really wonder what’s out there, she said.

“I don’t feel threatened. I think it’s curious about us.”

Since the 1990s sightings have been documented in the Daily Press by citizens certain what they saw was not a bear. And it always had a strong odor.

As early as the 1800s reports have been given about Sasquatch from frontiersmen and Indians.

Wherever it’s seen, by whatever name, Bigfoot remains an unidentified mysterious animal whose existence has been reported but not proven - a cryptid.

While the original witness seems credible enough, Tom Biscardi just compromised his credbility by lending his name and support to what turned out to be the big Georgia bigfoot hoax of a couple years ago. While even the best of researchers/experts can be made fools of by hoaxers, to my taste Mr Biscardi went overboard in his support of the two Georgians who perpetrated their hoax.

The following account was referred to me by the Munroe Falls Paranormal Society. None of the report has been edited...Lon
-
MFPS was contacted by a person who had an extremely odd sighting of an entity here in Stow, OH an adjacent community of my hometown.
-
Witness' wife contacted me with story and after several days of negotiation, witness agreed to meet with me, recreate the events and answer questions.
-
Witness extremely hesitant, but wife persuaded him to give story.
-
Night of 9/14/09 witness, who wishes to remain anonymous, but name and other vitals on record, was driving to work, 10:15pm, Northbound on Hudson Drive.
-
As witness drove under the RT8 overpass bridge, just north of the Hudson Drive Applebee’s Restaurant, he sighted a 9-10′ tall solid black entity standing on the southbound side of the road. No discernible head or facial features noticed. Duration approx. 5-10secs. Distance approx 15-20′ from his vehicle.

Witness had the feeling the entity was watching him and was “there” for him only.
-
No other vehicles/persons present during sighting. Immediately after turning his head back to the road, he looked in rearview mirror, entity no longer visible.
-
Did not see entity depart or disappear.
-
Witness became extremely upset and scared. Felt that he paled, and his eyes began to water uncontrollably.
-
First thought was to turn around and go home, calling off of work. He tried to call his wife at home, but cell phone would not work, either from the programmed address book, or manual input calling. Kept getting “call failed”, which has never happened before.
-
Cell phone continued to be affected all the way to the I-271 entrance ramp, approx. 8-10 miles up the road.
-
Witness did make it to his job, but has since regretted not turning around and going home, due to his state of mind. The experience was traumatic in every sense of that word. It was a “bad” night for him at work.
-
Weather was clear, starry. No other known witnesses, no animal sightings. Other than the uncontrollable watering of the eyes, no other physiological or physical effects on his person.
-
Other than the cell phone not working, no other effects noticed on inanimate objects, such as streetlights, car, or timepiece (watch).
-
There was no religious interpretation, no known memory lapse, no dreaming related to sighting as of this report.
-
Witness did report close encounter with UAO as a ten year old when he lived in Akron, other than that, no overt paranormal experiences were reported during his normal daily life.
-
Witness tried to box his sighting into something prosaic. Closest he could come was an electric company canvas transformer covering, but on reflection, he’s certain that that was not what he observed.
-
Witness stated that immediately after the sighting he became more and more agitated and scared the further he drove along. Distinct feeling that the entity was waiting for him and possibly following him, but he did not see it again, that night.

Entity too tall, too big for that.
-
No disturbances at witness place of residence.
-
The following day on his way home, as he neared the RT8 overpass, this time driving over the bridge he went under the day before, as he approached the bridge area, his eyes began to water uncontrollably once again, as he drove over the bridge and his eyes continued to water, until he passed beyond the bridge, then his eyes began to clear up.

When I first saw the drawing I was incredulous. The drawing bears an uncanny resemblance to the original drawing submitted by the original MOTHMAN witness of Point Pleasant WV, 1966.

Witness provided me a pencil drawing of what he observed.
-
Witness willing to keep me informed of any further sightings or activity. I believe I have gained his trust, as I mentioned he wasn’t really interested in coming forth with this.
-
My intuitive reaction is that witness is extremely believable and honest in his testimony. No outrageous embellishments to either his story, which I made him relate twice, nor to his drawing, which was really rather simple in nature.
-
So in the end, no answers at this point, but the eerie drawing he provided and it’s uncanny resemblance to the MOTHMAN legacy are very much intriguing.
-
I will continue to correspond and follow up with witness periodically and will be anxiously awaiting to see if any other sightings are reported in this vicinity that might validate this entity’s appearance.

Great winged bats; this is how most people perceive the Batsquatch.

They allegedly live in the shadows of Mt. Saint Helens. They have purple skin, bashing red eyes and
features that are quite similar to bats. -
The Batsquatch has never really been associated with the Sasquatch and is more commonly believed to be another split in
evolution, thus producing this new species. -
The Batsquatch has been connoted to be carnivorous in state. Since reports tell of its appetite of small animals like chickens,
goats and hogs, -
some believe that it is actually a flying primate but researchers claim that it is more closely joined to the fruit bat of northern America.

Fear still fills the hearts of men, women and children of Washington. In May of 1980 during the eruption of Mount Saint
Helens the Batsquatch showed itself in the shadows of clouds from the eruption. -
In 1994, a local mountaineer and a liquor shop owner were able to take pictures of the
Batsquatch making the rumor more evident and real for individuals of the said area. -
In a local newspaper this headline alerted fear back into the minds of citizens.
'Yelmidians take cover under shadow of suspicious creature. Mountain News'. -
During this event livestock seemed to disappear though luckily no humans were reported missing at the time.

A mountaineer dictated events that happened and his
encounter with the Batsquatch when he found himself half conscious near a cliff on the said area. -
The events progressed like this: The mountaineer had been knocked out
and was feeling fuzzy from the fall when he suddenly heard a loud deep base yell from the shadows. He tried to focus his attention on the creature that had made the
sound while balancing the throbbing head ache that he had. -
He saw a log like entity being thrown of a cliff after a truck had hit it. What caught his eye was the fact that he
saw purple wings. -
He staggered to pull himself together as he looked for a way down to the valley when the clouds parted and a purple winged creature appeared.

It looked like it was
dragging another creature up. It looked like it was about 30 feet tall. With human like affection for the injured friend the creature then took into flight and extended strong
wings that filled the mountaineer’s full eye sight view. -
The mountaineer survived the event and kept this story a secret in fear of becoming the laughing stock of the community but when new stories came in about the
Batsquatch he shared his story. -
Figment of imagination, or reality? A creature of great multitude and power that fills the air of the Washington Mountains truly is a frightful
thought, especially knowing that it somehow survived time and evolution. -
It is only a creature that is struggling to survive. Just because it is so gigantic doesn't mean that it will be
the downfall of the human race. -
However, the reality of the Batsquatch can no longer be denied.

Respect! This is how we should take news such as this. Respect for a living creature instead of fear.

Man should learn that our world is
filled with entities that have not yet or can not yet be explained, but knowing that they are there adds to the humanity that we should be giving great creatures such as the
Batsquatch. -

I’d agreed to a mid-November signing at a small
book-and-gift- shop in the valley thirty minutes from Sandy

I was planning on stopping by Sandy's big old
farm house in mid-afternoon, but was running late as usual, and
by the time I arrived in her vicinity I still had to get in my
workout. I decided to take a run in the woods. -
I didn’t know the trails around Sandy’s home and
couldn’t afford to get lost, even off-schedule, so I found a
hilly stretch of logging path that took about two minutes to get
up, and did it a bunch of times - what I call a body-workout, not
a head-one. One can become the other sometimes, but those long
“big-sky” tours on just the right days are the ones you
live for. -
I took my cross-country ski poles with me. I would be
glad of it. -
The carbide tips - plain affairs without baskets, made for
roller- skiing on the roads - clacked behind me on the rocks and
dirt with each push-off timed to a stride, I reflected on the
recent Bigfoot reports from this immediate region, and
couldn’t help recalling that the national image of the big
fellow varies from reclusive veggie to moody savage. -
Hunters
stormed in their cabins, prospectors trapped in valleys, and even
lonely campers dismembered figure in the accumulated lore. Great
images to keep you company in the dimming woods. -
It looks dorky, but running with poles like that gets the arms
involved and raises the heart rate nicely. It also takes weight
off my chronically bad feet, which, by the mid-1990s, were so
beat up from years of sports that I couldn’t run hard enough
normally to get a workout. -
I’d been plugging away at it for
about ten minutes when some crows stormed up fifty feet away. My
heart rear-ended my ribs; those wings sound like breaking bones.
I was glad to know instantly what they were, but what made them
take off? -
I was developing that nasty feeling of being watched.

I recalled the many calm, credible people over the
years who had reported impressions of “things” in the
Western New York woods - big lumpish forms, exactly as a Bigfoot
should look at the distances reported. -
Whenever I passed a certain spot about the midpoint of my
course the bushes rustled, and I sensed a big dark body crouching
behind them. -
I’d had impressions
like that many times myself, and made absolutely nothing of them.
I’m used to the woods. Around twilight stumps and bushes at
different depths around you can look animate when you jerk your
head. -
I couldn’t fight my own sensation, nevertheless, that
something was stalking me, ranging out from that bush alongside
me just out of sight for the first fifty feet of my curving
course in either direction. It was always back waiting for me as
I passed that spot on the return swing, following me again within
reach until it saw me stop and come back. -
I was beginning to dread it. By my tenth
up, I fancied that whatever was there had sensed that this would
be its last chance to make a move. -
It was pretty oppressive, leaving car and road behind each
time and winding back up into the dimness toward that clump of
bushes behind a maple. -
Sure enough, as I passed the
fated spot for the last trip down, something broke one of the
branches as if it were pulling it aside for a spring. I snarled
and dropped into a karate crouch, raising the poles like twin
prongs, announcing that this potential dinner felt militantly
indigestible. -
Ski poles are hardly weapons, though running with them, I fear
no dog. I can pop the tips up to business-level in a thought, and
the straps give excellent leverage for thrusts in any direction.
Still, the metal point of each basketless tip is about half an
inch long, unlikely to stick further in a heavy onrushing body or
even to catch and splinter the pole into something really lethal. -
I glared down the long fiberglass shafts at the crouching form I
imagined in the bush, filled with the adrenaline of righteous
anger. I even staggered them. If a monster grabbed the pole in
nearest reach, the other was going into its throat. Would serve
it right for interrupting a law-abiding run. -
Something was waving above the apparently crouching form, and
I snatched a glance upward. -
Intestines swayed from a branch ten
feet up. They had to be from an animal, though they looked big
enough to be human. -
I cursed sourly. I was almost glad I
didn’t see them earlier; might not have finished my workout. -
I side-stepped down the trail, as angry as I was afraid. Hearing
no pursuit in the thick leaves and trees, I relaxed and ambled
normally the last hundred yards. The feelings came back as I
unlocked the car, at that point most vulnerable.

I was with a group of people on Saturday, August 8th in Central Arkansas (out in the country) right before dusk. This area has one lane bridges with gravel roads and no road name signs.

One of the people I was with had lived there when she was a child.

Many years ago this had been a Amish community.

We had returned to the area to go ghost hunting at a cemetery near her old home.
-
None of us are drinkers or drug users and are all middle aged. We belong to a local ghost hunter's club, but this night, we were on our own.
-
We arrived well before dusk to make sure we had a good feel for our surroundings.
-
I stepped out of the car and walked maybe 6 feet when I heard the sound of something quickly approaching me. It sounded like wings flapping, but not the same.
-
Hard to describe really. It was on a much larger scale than I had heard before.
-
I quickly turned around and saw this thing headed right for me. I was so scared I could not image what I was seeing. I screamed and hit the ground.

I looked up and saw it looking down at me, I turned as my friends called my name and was running to me.
-
It flew over my head and landed on the tree limb near me.
-
When I looked back, I couldn't see it. My friends witnessed it as it flew towards me though they didn't see it in the tree.

It looked as if it had wrapped it's self around the tree limb. A bird can't do that.

In the tree, it looked more like a large worm or snake but much, much larger.

It didn't look the same in the tree that it had looked while flying toward me.

I did look to see if there were any other reports like this area, but did not find any documented.

I am now afraid to go outside before dusk in fear of seeing another one.

I have never been scared ghost hunting. This thing was the most amazing, scariest thing, I have ever seen in my life. I pray I never see it again.

As I neared the picnic site I yelled out
that there was something here but I could see one of my friends tossing the
food into the cooler. -
By the time I got down stream everyone had ascended the
canyon and all but Miriam were in the car. After I hiked up the canyon I
walked over to the edge of it and stood looking to the other side, which was

The visible length
of the light appeared to be quite long, extending to the area of the bend in
the creek. Approximately a thirty-five degree angle. -
Suddenly, a bright yellow light appeared on
the opposite side of the canyon, directly across from us. -
As I stood looking, a light brown Sasquatch appeared within the
narrow band of light. As soon as it stepped out of the light onto the rock
surface, the beam of light disappeared. -
The narrow end of the
light touched the rocks across from us and the wider band was over and through
the trees. -
The Sasquatch turned to look in our
direction and then strolled over the rocks out of view. -
As this event unfolded, everyone except
Miriam and myself were in the car. I asked Miriam if she could see what was
happening to which she replied, "No". I then gave her a running commentary as
to what was occurring. -
We then got into the car and talked to the
others, but they all said they saw nothing but could feel something. -
BODY, MIND CONFLICT

The objective of reaching the bend of the creek created a struggle to overcome
the feeling to turn back and the desire to continue walking. -
As I proceeded
upstream I was suddenly turned, walking downstream. I do not recall turning to
go downstream. -
My abrupt turnabout may have been a survival
response due to another energy field which was either impressing upon or
becoming enmeshed with mine, or my response was influenced by an exterior
interference, not based on survival as I did not feel fearful, nor threatened.
However, had I not returned downstream and ascended the canyon I would not
have seen the Sasquatch. -
One friend who was present during both
sightings stated she "felt she had to move away from the picnic area". -
She
couldn't remember if the others moved away on their own accord or if she told
them to. She had the urge to run and felt an "oppressive heaviness" that was

THE LIGHT
-
The Sasquatch manifested suddenly within the narrow band of light which was
slightly above its head and below its feet. -
The light disappeared as the
Sasquatch began to walk. -
It turned its head to look in our direction and then
walked away, quickly disappearing into the visual horizon. The viewing
distance was less than half a city block. -
Its height was approximately six feet tall,
walked with a smooth gait and had a stocky build. -
It appeared to be a solid
physical form. -
Such a phenomena is mentioned by a
yogi whose master appeared to him in "supernal splendor" and the yogi "beheld
the flesh and blood form of his master" (Yogananda,475). The master referred
to his body as "flesh and blood" which he sees as ethereal yet to the yogi it
appears as "physical". -
Although the form appeared physical to me yet remained
undetected by the others is not unusual. -
His body could be held, and faint natural odours that
are characteristic of his body could be detected (Yogananda,476). -
Although the four others with me saw neither
the light nor the Sasquatch all could sense that activity was occuring on the
opposite side of the canyon. -
Light does not seem to have a dependence on anything material
whereas for example, sound waves are dependent on air. -
Light could have been like a vehicle for the
Sasquatch. -
One of the reasons for
the inability of the others to see the Sasquatch may be related to light. They
may have been looking past the Sasquatch as the light may have occupied a
small field in their vision. -
SUMMARY
-
Maya Bykova suggested that the ability of the Sasquatch to appear/disappear
may be a "protective property" and its strong biofield can cause fear in those
who observe it (Stonehill,1,6). -
The individuals who sensed a presence in close
proximity, could not see what they sensed, and left the area. As some
responses are culturally habituated it is not conclusive that the biofield of
the Sasquatch caused their reaction. -
It is just as probable that their
response was due to unfamiliar shifts in electromagnetic waves impinging upon
their biofields which affected their emotional response. -
Its attributes such as materializing within light,
communication process, sudden appearance/disappearance, transcend the limits
of our three spatial dimensions. -
The form of the Sasquatch is characteristic
of terrestrial physicality. -
This suggests they may have more than three
dimensions and can enter and move within our timespace. -
We cannot conclusively state that its prime
residence is on the earth's surface, nor that its earthbound constitution is
constant. It may have the ability to generate energy to acquire and maintain a
bipedal form. -
Unusual occurrences can force us to
reconsider our anthropocentric views of reality and contribute to the
development of individual and societal interpretations of reality. -
Both are
transformed under particular conditions. -
We are embodied within nature.

The Sasquatch is a particular property of
nature embodied within nature. -
Sasquatch is our potent 'Elder
Brother', who severs and depatterns us from the familiar. -
Once removed from the familiar we enter landscapes that test and
break boundaries of self. Interpretations of these experiences are based on
consciousness and individual differences. -
He communicates a
system of knowledge operating within nature closed off from everyday
perception. -
Sasquatch is a sign, a symbol, of
unseen patterns emerging and becoming visible. -

Running home from cross country practice. I ran through some protected woods as a short cut.

I heard three high pitched screams. They couldn't have been made by a human. I also heard a loud thud behind me. I ran before it got closer.

My dad had gone hunting beyond the corn field to the north of our house. I was home helping my mom with the chores. I was 14 at the time.

Mom looked out the window when she heard the chickens raising hell. Dad was putting them in the coop and locking the door.

She went out to see what was wrong. He just keep going ignoring her.

He tyed up the dogs, put the pony in his stall and locked the barn door.

He was white as a ghost and trembling.

Yelled at my twin brothers to "GET IN THE HOUSE NOW" .

When we were all in he locked the doors and all the windows. Loaded the double barrell shot gun and put it in the front closet and told us to "STAY OUT OF THERE".

Then he sat at the table with his head in his hands.

Again she asked him what happened.

Mom gave him coffee but his hands were shaking so bad he spilled it all over.

He looked at her and slowly said you and the kids CAN NOT go out side unless I'm with you and I have the gun.

I have NEVER seen my father act like this before. He had always hunted and went fishing all over Illinois and wisconsin.

For a solid month we could not go out to play with out him setting in the lawn chir with a loaded gun across his lap.

The chickens weren't allowed out and the pony could only come out to graze if he held the lead rope. He just kept moving his chair to get to longer grass.

A large hairy ape like creature bent down to look in a kitchen window of the cops house when his wife was doing dishes. This window was 7 feet off the ground. Nonthing to stand on out side.

My dad was good friends with this cop and he told him. They installed security cameras, dawn to dusk lights and a sound system so strong you can hear a safty pin being dropped on the gravel drive. This all turns on at dusk and off at dawn.

Some thing their coon hounds had treed was tearing the dogs into like tissue paper.

Also heard two coon hunters talking on walkie talkies.

They were trying to get the living dogs out of there when transmission ended. Could hear the fear in their voices, the dogs yelping, and terriable roaring screams in the background.

I was Sleeping it was late around 10 o clock I just got done from walking and fishing in the river near my cabin

I took a look out my window and saw a large black object the moon was bright that night it was a hairy looking thing

We were standing on a bank in front of the water. One of my friends said that he had heard something on the other side of the creek, and that he was going to check it out because we were expecting more company later on.

My friend swam through the water to get to the other side, he went into the woods to go check out the noises. We saw some trees shake and we yelled out to him to quit goofing off, because the kid is a little goofy anyway.

But about 7 to 10 minutes later I started to feel worried because he had not spoke another word back to us.

We heard his footsteps across the creek and we saw him in a clearing where the trees parted, his face was as white as a ghost, from seeing his face and the manor he was staring back at us I thought he had gotten bitten by a snake or something so we all went over to join him quickly and see if he was okay.

We asked him what was wrong but he could not answer and just pointed back to the woods,

some kids still thought the boy was playing a joke but I could tell he was quite serious.

He was motioning quickly to go across the creek back to the other side, so we took him back to the other side.

He spoke something about a man-like creature like a man/bear.
-
But he was to petrified to give us a good description yet. So we left the smallest of us behind to stay and keep the boy company and we proceeded to the other side of the creek.

We never saw the creature the boy had spoken of But we did see a series of very wide man-like footprints imprinted about an inch in the ground, this definitely rattled me and gave me an eerie feeling inside.

We all decided to leave and report the incident to the rangers, the rangers acted kind of funny when we told them about it. The said the had never heard of the creature.

LOCATION DETAILS: On the East Ridge, south of The Lady of the Rockies. About in the middle of the hill.
NEAREST TOWN: Butte
NEAREST ROAD: I-90

OBSERVED: I live in Butte, Montana. This is a city mostly on a hill, but stretches down into a valley. On the east side, there is a great stretch of mountains known as the east ridge.
This is where I was when I saw a sasquatch. -
In the middle of the hill, south of the Lady of the Rockies, there are two smaller hills jutting out of the middle of the hill. I was on the northern side of the southernmost small peak, heading down to go back to my vehicle.

I was heading through some trees when I looked to the north at the other hill.
This hill comes up further out from the main mountain than the hill that I was on. The peak is therefore more west, and then heading east it slopes down, flattens out, then heads back up the main mountain. -
I was looking through these trees I was heading through up at the flattened part of that hill. I was looking right at this tree. I'd say it was a good ten feet tall. I'd say I was about 200-300 yards away from this tree.

He must have seen me, because when he walked out from behind that tree, I could tell he was looking right at me.

I'd say he was about 8 feet tall, judging from the distance, and he walked just like the saquatch in the old video of him walking through that small clearing in the forest. You all know the one. Probably the most popular one out there.
His arms swayed back and forth, hanging limply from his shoulders. -
He walked about 15 feet then disappeared behind another tree.
I have no doubt in my mind of what I saw. -
OTHER WITNESSES: I was alone.

TIME AND CONDITIONS: It was about 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon.
ENVIRONMENT: Pine forest and open fields. Very rocky in some areas. In the middle of the mountain.

After interviewing the witness, the following can be added to his account.
-
The witness is familiar with the area and hikes there regularly.
-
When he first saw the animal, he was surprised by how easy it was to see, and assumes that the size of the animal made it easy to spot.
-
The animal had well groomed, dark brown hair. It had a steady walk with long swinging arms.
-
Although he never saw the animal look directly at him, he is certain the animal knew he was there.
-
The witness felt the animal had timed its movement into the open so that he would see it, possibly as an intimidation attempt.
-
However, the witness never felt threatened or frightened; instead he was excited by the sighting.
-
Sometime after the sighting the witness returned to the area and investigated the tree the animal had been hiding behind. The tree was ten feet tall, which led the witness to believe the animal was eight feet tall.
-
This witness is familiar with the area and local wildlife. He is believable and sincere. The sighting was during a clear day with no obstructions. I believe that this was a Class A sighting.

I read on a report that a hippy farmer from Talkemla says that he and his cohorts since they were little have been warned about the bigfoot living in this area, and that they are highly territorial,aggressive, and traveling into this area, is putting yourself in oppotunity/danger of running into one of these creatures.

I spoke with the witness for quite some time six days after the sighting. I can add the following to the report:
-
The witness, his 15 month old daughter, and a male friend were in the area to swim and fish. The terrain in the area is very heavily forested with a lot of old growth redwoods, oak, manzanita, and very dense fern growth.
-
They had been at the location for approximately 20 minutes when he wandered off from the other two to look for lizards.
-
It was at this point that he heard what he described as "thumping"; when he looked he saw the animal 100 feet up a hill from him.
-
As the encounter began, the animal very slowly and slightly crouched down, as if to conceal itself. In front of the animal was some oak/manzanita scrub. It's left arm was positioned behind a large, upright boulder.
-
The witness and the animal regarded one another for close to a minute and he was able to get a very good look at its features and anatomy.
-
He describes the body hair as a reddish brown, long, and shaggy. There was matting in spots, particularly around the upper shoulder and head, though the arms seemed to be smooth and groomed.
-
He noted debris in the body hair.
-
He described the hair of the animals head as being "like bad bedhead; like it has just woken up". He also notes that the hair on the head was a darker brown than the body.
-
The eyes were "three times as large as a human being's eyes". He notes that they were an amber brown, with very little white at the edges.
-
The nose was flat with large nostrils: "a pig/monkey kind of nose". He notes that the nostrils seemed very much set apart.
-
The lips were very full and thick. He never saw gums, teeth, or a tongue.
-
The ears stuck out a bit, but were fairly flat to the head. They had no hair on them, though they were the color of dirt.
-
The hair on the face was "patchy at best". Around the eyes was a very light, fine gray hair.
-
There was no hair on the nose or along the jawline.
-
He reports seeing no neck: "it was like the head just sat right on the shoulders".
-
The shoulders are described as being "huge; very much like a football player with padding on, almost overly muscular like a professional body builder.
-
He was able to see to the mid-chest area. The chest was "definitely male, there were no female breasts". The chest was lightly covered with hair and he could see a dirty reddish/peach colored skin tone underneath.
-
He notes that the animal only blinked twice that he can recall during the entire encounter.
-
The expression on its face at first was fairly benign, but as the time passed turned into a slight scowl, and the witness got the feeling that the animal didn't want him there.
-
There were no noise or sounds made by the animal during the encounter.
-
The witness finally turned and left the area and was then struck with a deep urge to leave the area.
-
He took his daughter and friend and immediately drove away.
-
He describes himself as being very emotional and the he "cried most of the way home", though he was not able to explain exactly why.
-
The last statement the witness made to me that he felt important to the report was that "this was a very, very beautiful animal".
-
The witness notes that the area, while remote, is popular with swimmers and fisherman.
-
One involving rocks being thrown at him and a few male friends. This incident involved a group of three men and two women camping in the area in 2007 over Labor Day.

He has had two incidents in years passed near this area.
-
Around 11pm they heard something large splashing in the water, Shortly thereafter something began throwing pine cones into their camping area.
-
They initially thought it was other campers playing a prank so they threw the pine cones back. This was returned by a 15lb rock being hurled at them.
-
Their 95lb pit bull ran towards the "thrower" only to return a few seconds later, running into the truck and refusing to come out.
-
It was at this time they they abandoned their campsite (gear and all) and left the area. When they returned to the location the next day, their tents had been messed up with some being knocked down. Their ice chest with all the meat and food in it was nowhere to be found but the witness' wallet with $150.00 in it was still there.

My husband and I went camping this past Saturday. Sunday morning,(August 30th) around 4:00, I woke up to go the the restroom. (There was a building near the campsites that provided restroom and shower facilities.)

It was pitch black outside, except for the light from my lantern and the lights from the building. I went in, did my thing, and as I started to leave to walk back to my tent, I stopped because I felt there was someone behind me.

I turned around and I saw three gray aliens standing in the woods behind the building, near another campsite on the hill in the back.

I thought it could have been the people from the campground on the hill, but why would they just be standing in the middle of the woods at 4am for no apparent reason?

They didn't seem to be doing anything but standing there.

When one of them turned and looked at me, I realized they weren't human.
-
For one thing, the arms were too long and the bodies were too thin. Their skin had a pale glossy look, and they had a very large cranium with lumps all over the top of the scalp.

They had huge black eyes that seemed to pierce right through me.

I stand 5'3" tall, and they looked about one or two inches shorter than me.

The one that saw me started to inch toward me, but I bolted back to my tent.

When my husband asked me what was wrong, all I could say was "There's (expletive) aliens back there!"When he finally calmed me down enough, he had me stay in the tent while he went to go see what it was.
He found nothing. -
I don't know if I had any missing time or not. It was around 5:00 when I was finally calm enough to leave the tent, with my husband, of course.

We had a cigarette and talked about my sighting. Then around 6:00 we got a fire going and cooked breakfast. That's really all I remember from that morning.

Later that night, (I'm not sure what time it was. We kept waking up off and on.) he said he saw a shadowy figure move outside.

He didn't hear any footsteps. He looked up and saw the top cover on the tent move, as if someone pulled it aside to look in at us from above.

When we woke up again later that night, the blankets on his side of the tent were wet. (It started raining that night.) My side was dry for the most part.

It was located directly across from the parking lot. I didn't see any signs of a craft nearby, but I did see the creatures. I know what I saw was real, as I was wide awake when I saw them.

The following breaking news has just been received from Pennsylvania researcher Stan Gordon.

Motorist Has Near Collision With Bigfoot In Pennsylvania
July 20, 2009 -
A report of a possible Bigfoot encounter in Pennsylvania was received by the Sasquatch Watch of Virginia and was then referred to Eric Altman, the Director of the (PBS) Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society to investigate. The incident occurred on July 10, 2009, outside of Uniontown, in Fayette County.

On July 15, 2009, a team from the PBS traveled to the location where the reported Bigfoot encounter occurred to interview the witness and to look over the area for any possible physical evidence. The team was comprised of Eric Altman and PBS members Dave Dragosin and his wife Cindy. Eric also invited me to go along to participate in the investigation.

When we arrived on the scene, the witness and her husband were awaiting us. We went through our introductions, then walked over towards the roadway where the encounter had occurred.

The location of the incident was on a two lane roadway outside of Uniontown.

It was about 6 P.M. when the event occurred, and the weather was warm and clear at the time.

The witness was driving down the road about 35-40 mph, when suddenly, she caught out of the corner of her eye, a figure coming from the left side and approaching her.

Her first thought was that a person was about to walk out in front of her car, and she was about to hit the subject.

She suddenly swerved over to the right side of the road, and was thankful that nobody was there. As she was making the turn, she got a good look at the figure, and suddenly realized that it was not a person, but a strange creature.

As she sat there for a moment, she looked into her rear view mirror, and realized that the creature had gotten behind her car.

“I looked into the rear view mirror and I saw it leap across my trunk.”

While still pulled over on the roadside, the woman remained seated in her car, trying to regain her composure. She could not believe what had just occurred. Seconds later she looked up to see the creature now on her right side running quickly down the middle of another road about 75 feet away.

That was the last time she saw it. The entire incident had lasted just several seconds, but enough time for the witness to recall a detailed description of a creature which she was certain was not human, or a person in a costume.

What she saw in daylight and at very close range was a dark colored, hair covered man-like creature, which she estimated was, “at least 6 feet tall or slightly taller.”

The creature, which walked upright on two legs, had a head that was said to be large and elongated, and covered with hair that just looked wild.

The neck was somewhat hard to explain since it was covered in hair. The witness said that it appeared to be thin and long.

“The neck looked strange because the head was big and the shoulders were wide.”

The face was mainly covered in hair, yet the area that was exposed appeared to be very white.
-
There was hair coming out from all over the face, like that of a dog or a wolf.
-
The nose was flat and dark, but was also mostly covered in hair.
-
The mouth could not clearly be seen. The ears were not seen since they were covered with hair as well.

The eyes were it’s most prominent feature that really caught the witnesses’ attention. The eyes were at least twice the size of a human and circular in shape. The eyes were dark, possibly black in color, wide set, and “wild looking.”

There was “no iris, no whites.” The witness thinks that is why the eyes looked so odd.

The wild look and the fierceness of the eyes of the creature, scared the woman.

The creature was stocky and muscular in appearance. The chest area was described as thick and hairy. The shoulders were wide and rounded. The arms were very long, hanging down to the knees or beyond.

The witness said the hair on the arms was long, like ape hair. The woman didn’t recall seeing any muscles, however, it appeared as though it was muscular, and in good physical shape.

The witness had the impression that this creature was older in age.

Very little detail was observed below the waist. There was no unusual sound or odor noted during the observation. The witness did have her windows up and air conditioner on.

At the scene, Dave Dragosin sketched an illustration of the creature under the direction of the eyewitness. Eric and the witness’s husband searched a wooded area not far from the location of the encounter, but nothing of interest was found.

We also went over to examine the car. As I was looking over the car body, I noticed what appeared to be an unusual scratch mark on the trunk surface on the left side of the vehicle. I pointed it out to the others, as well as the woman and her husband. They had never seen this surface area damage before.

The affected area was about 6 inches from the left tail light to the first striation of the scratches. The scratched area was about 8.5 inches long and 2 inches wide. There were numerous vertical and horizontal very thin scratch lines that went into the paint surface. There is the possibility that this might be related to the creature’s movements as it leaped across the trunk area from that side.

It was my impression that the witness was very sincere and competent. As she described to us what she had seen and experienced that night, it was evident that she was still emotionally upset by what had occurred.

The witness told me that after the encounter, she drove down the road a short distance and parked her car. She sat there thinking about what had happened. She was trying to convince herself that this was a person, but realized that it couldn’t have been.

(A) The rate of speed the figure came across into the path of her car, it didn’t care that it was going to get hit.

These are her reasons why she feels it was not a human.

(B) The fast movement of the creature and the way it leaped over the trunk.

She also had a good look at the creature and some facial features. The eyes of the creature frightened her.

When she arrived home she waited a little while before telling her family about what she had seen. She was initially met with some disbelief from her children. Her husband listened to her and believed that she had seen something.

The direction that the creature was last observed moving towards would take it into a heavily wooded area in the direction of Jammonville. There has been a long history of Bigfoot sightings being reported for many years in this same general area of Fayette County.

I spoke to the witness by phone and found him to be credible. His main worry was for the safety of his family, but now he is not as concerned as he was at first because not much has happened since he has reported the activity.

At a distance of only thirty feet, he briefly (five seconds) watched the seven to eight foot tall animal walking through the valley near his home.

It weighed over 400 pounds, had no neck, and was covered with a grayish-black hair. The bipedal animal had a smell of mingled skunk scent and rotten meat.

When rural residents with children become very worried about these animals coming too close to their homes, we instruct them to put up more lights near their house and their livestock. -
Bright lights seem to deter these animals from approaching homes, as if bright lights hurt their eyes.

LOCATION DETAILS: Our river place is on the Ohoopee River next to the Griffin Ferry Bridge. It is about five miles east of Oak Park, Ga.

OBSERVED: An unseen animal howling LOUDLY while violently shaking a 12X45 mobile home almost off its blocks.

My wife and I were awake, she was cleaning in the kitchen, and I was in the living room reading.

Suddenly a LOUD howling sound began and at the same moment the trailer began shaking very violently. The howling and the shaking lasted ten seconds, but it was very loud as that of a bull horn.

My first response was thinking we were having an earthquake.My second was someone outside somehow making the noise while somehow shaking the trailer. I grabbed my pistol and ran outside. There was nothing moving outside any where.

ALSO NOTICED: The old trailer we were staying in had been empty for more than three years.

When we arrived at the river trailer, the main entrance door was/had been forced open. people/vandals and animals had been entering the trailer, for months if not years.

We had just returned from a military tour of duty in Germany. We were going to live in the old trailer until I could build a house on the property.

OTHER WITNESSES: My wife and myself, our two children were asleep.

OTHER STORIES: No. I lived on that property for more than 15 years, and hunted the woods, trapped and fished the river and never thought of a Big Foot until I surfed into your site a few months ago and heard the Ohio Howls.

It was then that I realized what had happened the night that an earthquake accompanied by a hair-raising howling occurred that cold night in 1982.

The witness recounted the event via telephone.

The witness and his wife had purchased the property for the purpose of building a house on the land. Previously, the area had been used as a fishing camp. A trailer sat empty on the property for several years.

The witness and his family were using the trailer as a temporary home while the house was being built.
-
On the evening of the incident, the trailer began shaking violently, as if a large creature were thrashing it from side to side.
-
This was accompanied by an incredibly loud howl,
-
The howl was not only powerfully loud, but resonated inside the small structure, amplifying the sound within. It ascended and descended in pitch, with a siren-like quality.
-
The witness' wife began screaming in fear, and the shaking and howling suddenly ceased.
-
The witness retrieved a handgun and went outside, but couldn't see or hear anything in the environment.
-
It is the witness' interpretation that the animal may have used the abandoned trailer as a temporary shelter in the past, as there were signs of various animals entering and exiting the trailer when they purchased the property.
-
The witness suggests that the animal may have been responding to the shelter being occupied by people on this particular occasion.
-
This may be an accurate interpretation, supported by other stories of sasquatches temporarily occupying abandoned human shelters or structures.
-
Likewise, there are other accounts across the continent of sasquatches shaking or striking homes and shelters with human occupants.

The Ohoopee River and the surrounding areas have yielded other reports that GA-BFRO members are aware of. It is a heavily forested area, interspersed with rural agricultural plots.
