-
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) spent $2,993 in taxpayer money on flowers between June and October.
-
House Majority Whip James Clyburn has a thing for Chantilly Donuts, spending about $265 at the Virginia shop in the past quarter.
-
And Rep. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), a fiscal conservative, decided to give about $2,000 in unused office funds back to the government to help reduce the deficit.
-
These expenditures – culled from thousands of line items released Monday by the Chief Administrative Officer of the House – are just a fraction of the $300 million spent last quarter by House offices.
-
But while the bulk of congressional office spending goes to salaries and routine office expenses,
-
some of the line items offer a window into the personalities and priorities of each congressional office.
-
Pelosi, who has come under fire in the past for spending on flowers, also spent roughly $30,610 in food and beverage and about $2,740 on bottled water, contributing to the nearly $120,531 total from all congressional leadership accounts.
-
Her offices defended the charges, saying the Speaker’s office holds more ceremonial events with visiting dignitaries than other congressional offices.
-
They also use a local florist, and about a third of her flower expenses this quarter were for Jack Kemp’s funeral.
-
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) racked up about $24,617 in catering costs.
-
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) spent about $1,561 in bottled water
-
and House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) spent no money on water but a touch over $18,000 in food.
-
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) spent about $24,116 on food and beverage.
-
These line by line expenditures used to come just in bound green books, but for the first time ever, Pelosi requested that the reports also be put online this quarter.
-
The nearly 3,400 digitized pages were released Monday afternoon and touted by Pelosi as expanding “accountability to taxpayers and the press.”
-
Most of the expenditures seem standard – everything from individual staff salaries to office supplies is listed.
-
Most offices order food from the Capitol Host in-house catering service, but others order from outside locales.
-
Clyburn, for example, frequently purchases donuts for his office from Chantilly Donuts in Virginia, where he spent about $265 in the period stretching from June until the end of September.
-
One of the biggest line items for congressional offices outside of salaries tends to be the pricy subscriptions to Congressional Quarterly, which produces high end legislative tracking products, a magazine and a daily publication.
-
Cantor and Boehner together spent $69,832.50 on the company’s publications – Boehner spent $48,085 on CQ publications.
-
Money is spent on everything from security services for district offices to thousands in mileage reimbursements for individuals’ cars.
-
Lawmakers appear to have great flexibility on what qualifies as an office expense.
-
Taxpayers foot the bill for leasing cars for members, including cars for Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.) and Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas).
-
Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) spent $28,410 with a market communications firm to send a newsletter to his constituents, querying them on issues ranging from the closing of the detention center at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, earmark reform and health care.
-
A spokesman said it was sent to 196,000 constituents and is just “one of the many tools Congressman Kirk uses to communicate with constituents.”
-
Walz and Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-Ala.) both returned about $2,500 to cut away at the deficit.
-
Some even have money left over to give back to the government.
-
Bachus, a fiscal conservative, said he does not take cost-of-living increases in the middle of a congressional term.
-
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported the amounts Nancy Pelosi’s office spent on flowers and James Clyburn’s office spent on donuts.

Declaration opposes forced participation in any 'anti-life act'
-
By Julia Duin
-
Archbishop Wuerl, who attended the news conference, said it was a "joy" to welcome the religious leaders at the news conference and emphasized that their task "is to change human hearts. That is how society is changed."
-
Philadelphia Cardinal Justin Rigali, one of the signers, said people's consciences must be formed first.
-
"The institution of marriage is at risk of being redefined at its very essence," he said. "Justice demands that we not remain silent in face of these threats."
-
However, he twice dodged a reporter's question about whether it would be a mortal sin for a politician to vote for a national health care bill that obligates taxpayers to pay for abortions.
-
Several speakers said the document was moral, not political, in nature and that the bulk of it defines three core issues: life, marriage and religious liberty.
-
"This is truly a matter of the heart," said the Rev. Robert Sirico, founder of the Michigan-based Acton Institute. "To portray it as something other is to mischaracterize our intentions."
-
But the Rev. Barry W. Lynn, executive director of Washington-based Americans United for Separation of Church and State, said the document was very political.
-
"I am optimistic that the people in the pews will not heed their leaders' misguided call to action," he said
-
"Polls show that most churchgoers do not want to see their faith politicized. But I am also well aware that religious leaders have vast lobbying power that cannot be ignored."
-
The document does portray a gloomy picture of the current political situation, citing the "pro-abortion ideology [that] prevails today in our government."
-
It adds, "The present administration is led and staffed by those who want to make abortions legal at any stage of fetal development and who want to provide abortions at taxpayer expense. Majorities in both houses [of Congress] hold pro-abortion views."
-
The first 148 signatures include Southern Baptists, Anglicans, the Orthodox Church of America (OCA), members of Reformed, evangelical, Hispanic Protestant, Church of God in Christ, Antiochian Orthodox and Evangelical Free Church traditions plus the executives of numerous parachurch ministries.
-
There were only a handful of Presbyterians, United Methodists and Pentecostals, and no apparent signatories from Seventh-day Adventist, Messianic Jewish and Episcopal churches.

Wall Street tax must be international: Pelosi

-
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Any tax imposed on financial transactions would have to take effect internationally to keep Wall Street jobs and related business from moving overseas, U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi said on Thursday.
-
"It would have to be an international rule, not just a U.S. rule," Pelosi said at a news conference.
-
"We couldn't do it alone, we'd have to do it as an international initiative."
-
Several House Democrats have proposed a Wall Street tax to pay for job-creating legislation they plan to pass in December.
-
The tax, which could raise $150 billion per year, would tap into widespread public outrage at Wall Street in the wake of the financial crisis.
-
Add Sticky Note"There's something really out of kilter in this society," said Democratic Representative Marcy Kaptur, noting the gap between wages in her Ohio district and Wall Street bonuses.
- There's something "out of kilter" alright and it stinks to the heavens.. - on 2009-11-22
-
But support is tepid among key legislators, especially those from the New York region who worry that finance jobs could disappear if the tax drives trading activity overseas.
-
The No. 4 Democrat in the House, Representative John Larson, said his proposal to impose a 0.25 percent tax on over-the-counter derivatives transactions would apply internationally.
-
Add Sticky Note"Part of our proposal would include that it would be international," Larson told Reuters after meeting with other lawmakers about the jobs package.
- So..American Jobs creation/formulation is going to the "Global Community?" - on 2009-11-22
-
Democratic Representative Peter DeFazio said his separate proposal, which would tax a wider array of trading activity, would cover all U.S. corporations and individuals no matter where their trades took place.
-
Pelosi and other Democratic leaders have emphasized that the proposal is merely one of many ideas in play.
-
"It hasn't been developed to a high priority, but it has substantial currency in our caucus," Pelosi said.
-
Britain urged other governments earlier this month to consider a bank tax as a way to fund future bailouts, and France and Germany have also called for a bank tax.
-
The International Monetary Fund is studying the idea.
-
LITTLE ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT
-
But it has little support in the Obama administration.
-
Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said on Thursday that he has "not seen a version of that tax that I think would be appropriate for our country."
-
Democrats are developing their jobs bill to ease double-digit unemployment levels that threaten an economic recovery. The Senate is expected to act early next year.

By being loyal to Supriem and by doing something extraordinary for him?
-
No, that would probably boost your career, but it wouldn’t make you a member of the Inner Circle.
-
Why that is will be evident after we have gone through Chapter X, where many things will be revealed.

Only those of the Sicambian-Frank Bloodline can be part of the Inner Core.

Therefore, most people in real power are possessed and controlled by spirits,
-
but whatever entity someone is hosting, that entity is always going to be subservient to Supriem. Supriem controls the invisible world which controls the third dimension, according to one source.
-
Here is a video that I found on Michael N. Prescott’s MySpace page when it was still up and running,
-
which shows Supriem admiring the occult architecture of Nashville.
-
He also mentions researcher William Henry’s book: “The Cloak of the Illuminati”. Click here to watch the video.
-
Inter-Dimensional Politics
-
The bottom line is that Supriem is claiming he needs to create a One World Government, a benign dictatorship, in order to save the planet.
-
According to the sources who have been (or are) working close to Supriem, there are a lot of different alien races visiting Earth at this point in time, and they all have different agendas.
-
Mr. Rockefeller is trying to unite them all to support his own goals, and among the most powerful alien races are the “Dracos” (the Reptoids) from Alpha Draconis and the Reptilians from the Orion Constellation.
-
Add Sticky NoteThere are alien visitors who see themselves as superior to us and have watched the development of mankind here on Earth over the millennia.
- The "Watchers?"..of Biblical fame and whom Tom Horn often refers too? - on 2009-11-19
-
They are not pleased with the way the evolution has turned out, [2]and according to my sources, Supriem says that if he is unsuccessful with talking these races into letting him clean up here, the aliens will destroy our planet and most of the population once and for all.
-
Also, those who have followed David Icke’s research know he is talking about interdimensional reptilian entities (lower 4th Dimension/Density) who need to drink blood to be able to stay in physical form here.
-
He started saying this some time in 1996-97. However, this is nothing new. It is clearly mentioned in the channeled material in “The Law of One, Book II, page 100” from 1982.
-
Here is the excerpt:
Questioner: Are you saying, then, that these parts that are removed [cattle mutilations, Wes' comment] are related to the mass consciousness of the third-density human form and that this fear is being used in some way by the thought-form entities in these mutilations?
Ra: I am Ra. This is correct. The thought-form entities feed upon fear; thus they are able to do precise damage according to systems of symbology. The other second-density types of which you speak need the, what you call, blood.
Questioner: These other second-density types need the blood to remain in the physical? Do they come in and out of our physical from one of the lower astral planes?
Ra: I am Ra. These entities are, shall we say, creatures of the Orion group. They do not exist in astral planes as do the thought-forms but wait within the Earth’s surface.
-
To many readers this may sound like pure science fiction and some believe Nibiru and the return of the Anunnaki is science fiction and disinformation, but after the evidence we are building up to here, with previously unreleased material, we will start seeing how much is science fiction and how much is real.

Reptilian from Orion?
-
Supriem has said that humanity has failed, but he can take over and create a better way – a new beginning.
-
Yes, humanity has ‘failed’ due to that the Powers That Be have not managed to repent and start turning things around. Of course, in theory we could have been “smart enough” to see through the deception, but that is a little too much to ask in my opinion after have been enslaved since beginning of our existence — LITERALLY.
-
However, I do agree we could have done better instead of letting the evil few lead the many into our own disaster without lifting a finger.
-
This comes directly from someone who works close to Supriem:
-
He is for a benevolent dictatorship that ends what he calls the cancer of society, Congress.
-
“…Supriem’s goal is to create a better society for mankind.
-
He says when he tells people about his plan, they will voluntarily choose his plan and stand with him. After all, it was rebellion that sent him into exile.
-
He has said that he stands with the seven Supriem Power Directors and the Ancient of Days, it is their decision this year to decide if he receives his full power.
-
once they commit, Supriem becomes more powerful than they, according to the Creator’s plan.
-
It was Supriem who fell from grace and now he has been redeemed. This is why he is for Humanity’s redemption.
-
Supriem has had plenty of chances to turn dark and enslave mankind but he fought it.
-
Hence why he has controlled the Vatican waiting patiently to reveal the truth.
-
Look at it this way, Supriem is on all sides, he is beyond good and evil.
-
It is from the Urantia Book which is the Celestial Bible that just showed up on Earth and nobody knows who wrote it.
-
Google “The Almighty Supreme Papers” , it will tell you who he is.
-
Every U.S. President has had it in the oval office. It is known as the “Blue Book”, that is why the USAF called the UFO investigation Project Blue Book.”
-
My spontaneous thoughts here are that it looks like Supriem is over-simplifying the situation.
-
If he wants to abolish Congress, he will have most of the U.S. population against him, and many of them are gun owners — abolishing the Congress means going agianst the U.S. Constitution,
-
and this is such an obvious violation that I doubt the American people will accept it, for any reason.
-
But I also know he is not a fool, so he must have something that he considers a “waterproof plan”.

Ancient of Days at Rockefeller Plaza

Supriem’s Satellite Monitoring System
-
A source gave me the following video where Supriem is at a computer, monitoring satellites, You can see all of them in orbit on his screen and he has radar on his screen as well.
-
The source used his iphone to take this video. He did it behind Supriem’s back when Supriem walked away for a minute.
-
Then Supriem saw him doing it, so he erased it from the phone, but my source retrieved it from the 4 GB card that is removable.
-
These people are using secure iphones that have secure upgrades.
-
If you notice on his radar, it say Dulles, VA.
-
Also, you can clearly hear Supriem’s voice at the end of the video (he has that kind of voice that is easily recognizable) saying “hey!” before he grabs the phone from my source.
-
Click here to watch the movie.
It’s in .mov format, so you will need QuickTime Media Player to be able to watch it.

Endnote:
[1] Obviously, I was wrong about this date, but I didn’t want to take any chances
-
[2] If you follow this link it will take you to a very disturbing website, supposedly written by an alien being from the star system Antares. If this information is correct, we certainly are in trouble, and I can see what Supriem is talking about when he says he needs to “prove himself” to save mankind, or we are toast, literally, or someone’s dinner…

AN ACCIDENTAL DISCLOSURE

By Ellen Nakashima and Paul Kane
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, October 30, 2009 -
House ethics investigators have been scrutinizing the activities of more than 30 lawmakers and several aides in inquiries about issues including defense lobbying and corporate influence peddling, according to a confidential House ethics committee report prepared in July.
-
The report appears to have been inadvertently placed on a publicly accessible computer network, and it was provided to The Washington Post by a source not connected to the congressional investigations. The committee said Thursday night that the document was released by a low-level staffer.
-
Watchdog groups have accused the committee of not actively pursuing inquiries; the newly disclosed document indicates the panel is conducting far more investigations than it had revealed.
-
The ethics committee is one of the most secretive panels in Congress, and its members and staff members sign oaths not to disclose any activities related to its past or present investigations.
-
Shortly after 6 p.m. Thursday, the committee chairman, Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.), interrupted a series of House votes to alert lawmakers about the breach. She cautioned that some of the panel's activities are preliminary and not a conclusive sign of inappropriate behavior.
"No inference should be made as to any member," she said. -
Rep. Jo Bonner (Ala.), the committee's ranking Republican, said the breach was an isolated incident
-
It also outlines the work of the new Office of Congressional Ethics, a quasi-independent body that initiates investigations and provides recommendations to the ethics committee. The document indicated that the office was reviewing the activities of 14 other lawmakers. Some were under review by both ethics bodies.
-
The 22-page "Committee on Standards Weekly Summary Report" gives brief summaries of ethics panel investigations of the conduct of 19 lawmakers and a few staff members.
-
A broader inquiry
-
Ethics committee investigations are not uncommon. Most result in private letters that either exonerate or reprimand a member. In some rare instances, the censure is more severe.
-
the committee announced over the summer that it was reviewing lawmakers with connections to the now-closed PMA Group, a lobbying firm.
-
Many of the broad outlines of the cases cited in the July document are known --
-
But the document indicates that the inquiry was broader than initially believed. It included a review of seven lawmakers on the House Appropriations defense subcommittee who have steered federal money to the firm's clients and have also received large campaign contributions.
-
The document also disclosed that:
-
-- Ethics committee staff members have interviewed House Ways and Means Chairman Charles B. Rangel (D-N.Y.) about one element of the complex investigation of his personal finances, as well as the lawmaker's top aide and his son.
-
Rangel said he spoke with ethics committee staff members regarding a conference that he and four other members of the Congressional Black Caucus attended last November in St. Martin. The trip initially was said to be sponsored by a nonprofit foundation run by a newspaper.
-
But the three-day event, at a luxury resort, was underwritten by major corporations such as Citigroup, Pfizer and AT&T.
-
Rules passed in 2007, shortly after Democrats reclaimed the majority following a wave of corruption cases against Republicans, bar private companies from paying for congressional travel.
-
Rangel said he has not discussed other parts of the investigation of his finances with the committee. "I'm waiting for that, anxiously," he said.
-
-- The Justice Department has told the ethics panel to suspend a probe of Rep. Alan B. Mollohan (D-W.Va.), whose personal finances federal investigators began reviewing in early 2006 after complaints from a conservative group that he was not fully revealing his real estate holdings.
-
There has been no public action on that inquiry for several years. But the department's request in early July to the committee suggests that the case continues to draw the attention of federal investigators, who often ask that the House and Senate ethics panels refrain from taking action against members whom the department is already investigating.
-
Mollohan said that he was not aware of any ongoing interest by the Justice Department in his case and that he and his attorneys have not heard from federal investigators. "The answer is no," he said.
-
-- The committee on June 9 authorized issuance of subpoenas to the Justice Department, the National Security Agency and the FBI for "certain intercepted communications" regarding Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.).
-
As was reported earlier this year, Harman was heard in a 2005 conversation agreeing to an Israeli operative's request to try to obtain leniency for two pro-Israel lobbyists in exchange for the agent's help in lobbying House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to name her chairman of the intelligence committee.
-
The department, a former U.S. official said, declined to respond to the subpoena.
-
Harman said that the ethics committee has not contacted her and that she has no knowledge that the subpoena was ever issued. "I don't believe that's true," she said. "As far as I'm concerned, this smear has been over for three years."
-
In June 2009, a Justice Department official wrote in a letter to an attorney for Harman that she was "neither a subject nor a target" of a criminal investigation.
-
The panel said Thursday, however, that it is ending a probe of Rep. Sam Graves (R-Mo.) after finding no ethical violations, and that it is investigating the financial connections of two California Democrats.
-
Because of the secretive nature of the ethics committee, it was difficult to assess the current status of the investigations cited in the July document.
-
However, according to the July document, Rep. Maxine Waters, a high-ranking member of the House Financial Services Committee, came under scrutiny because of activities involving OneUnited Bank of Massachusetts, in which her husband owns at least $250,000 in stock.
-
The committee did not detail the two newly disclosed investigations.
-
In December, Treasury selected OneUnited as an early participant in the bank bailout program, injecting $12.1 million.
-
Waters arranged a September 2008 meeting at the Treasury Department where OneUnited executives asked for government money.
-
The other, Rep. Laura Richardson, may have failed to mention property, income and liabilities on financial disclosure forms.
-
File-sharing
-
The committee's review of investigations became available on file-sharing networks because of a junior staff member's use of the software while working from home, Lofgren and Bonner said in a statement issued Thursday night. The staffer was fired, a congressional aide said.
-
The committee "is taking all appropriate steps to deal with this issue," they said, noting that neither the committee nor the House's information systems were breached in any way.
-
"Peer-to-peer" technology has previously caused inadvertent breaches of sensitive financial, defense-related and personal data from government and commercial networks, and it is prohibited on House networks.
-
House administration rules require that if a lawmaker or staff member takes work home, "all users of House sensitive information must protect the confidentiality of sensitive information" from unauthorized disclosure.
-
Leo Wise, chief counsel for the Office of Congressional Ethics, declined to comment, citing office policy against confirming or denying the existence of investigations. A Justice Department spokeswoman also declined to comment, citing a similar policy.
-
Staff writers Carol D. Leonnig and Joby Warrick and staff researcher Julie Tate contributed to this report.

Al's Gore's much-anticipated sequel to An Inconvenent Truth is published today, with an admission that facts alone will not persuade Americans to act on global warming and that appealing to their spiritual side is the way forward.
-
In his latest book, Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis, the man who won a Nobel prize in 2007 for his touring slideshow on disappearing polar ice and other consequences of climate change, concludes: "Simply laying out the facts won't work."
-
Instead, Gore tells Newsweek magazine in a pre-publication interview, that he has been adapting his fact-based message - now put out by hundreds of volunteers - to appeal to those who believe there is a moral or religious duty to protect the planet.
-
I have a Muslim training program and a Jewish training program coming up, also a Hindu program coming up.
-
"I've done a Christian [-based] training program;
-
I trained 200 Christian ministers and lay leaders here in Nashville in a version of the slide show that is filled with scriptural references. It's probably my favourite version, but I don't use it very often because it can come off as proselytising," Gore tells Newsweek.
-
Gore's book arrives at a time of intense international scrutiny of America's moves on the environment ahead of an international meeting on global warming at Copenhagen, now just more than a month away.
-
It draws on the scholarly approach Gore developed for Inconvenient Truth. Since 2007, the former vice-president has been calling experts together from fields ranging from agriculture to neuroscience to discuss possible solutions to climate change.
-
The book draws on 30 such "solutions summits", as well as Gore's countless telephone conversations with scientists at America's best institutions.
-
According to the book's press release, "Among the most unique approaches Gore takes in the book is
-
showing readers how our own minds can be an impediment to change."
-
New polling last month showed a steep decline in the numbers of Americans who share Gore's sense of urgency in acting on climate change.
-
The book aims to reach those Americans by familiarising readers with emerging alternative energy sources, such as geothermal, biomass and wind power, as well as the possibilities of making cleaner coal power plants, and developing a more efficient and responsive "smart" electrical grid.
-
Gore also explores how deforestation, soil erosion, and the rising world population are multiplying the effects of rising greenhouse gas emissions.
-
Much of the material was developed through the series of brainstorming sessions organised by Gore.
-
Since 2007, the former vice-president has been calling experts together to discuss possible solutions to climate change. He has also held countless telephone conversations with scientists at America's best institutions.
-
"He is one of the only politicians that takes the time to actually talk to scientists who are producing the cutting-edge stuff and he comes in with questions.
-
He doesn't ask us how our results impinge on a particular policy he actually asks about science," said Gavin Schmidt, a climatologist at Nasa's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, who spoke to Gore along with colleagues four or five times for the book.
-
"Nobody that we have dealt with has ever taken as much time to understand the subtlety of the science and all the different complications and what it all means as Al Gore."
-
Those conversations led Gore to politically inconvenient conclusions in this new book.
-
Gore explored new studies - published only last week - that show methane and black carbon or soot had a far greater impact on global warming than previously thought. Carbon dioxide - while the focus of the politics of climate change - produces around 40% of the actual warming.
-
Gore acknowledged to Newsweek that the findings could complicate efforts to build a political consensus around the need to limit carbon emissions.
-
"Over the years I have been among those who focused most of all on CO2, and I think that's still justified," he told the magazine.
-
"But a comprehensive plan to solve the climate crisis has to widen the focus to encompass strategies for all" of the greenhouse culprits identified in the Nasa study.
-
The former vice-president has been working behind the scenes to try to nudge the White House and Congress to move forward on a 920-page proposed law to cut America's greenhouse gas emissions and encourage its use of clean energy sources like solar and wind power.
-
On Saturday, he told the German newspaper, Der Spiegel, he was "almost certain" Obama would attend the negotiations. The White House has so far refused to make a commitment.
-
But Gore has also been confronted with almost daily fresh reminders of the difficulties of prodding Americans to action.
-
The proposed legislation has set off a ferocious debate about the costs of dealing with climate change - with conservative Democrats and Republicans saying reducing America's use of oil will deepen unemployment and hurt average American families.
Republicans in the Senate have threatened to boycott a session today that had been called to move forward a draft of a 920-page proposed law to deal with climate change.
-
Progress on the bill is seen as crucial to getting a binding deal at Copenhagen.
-
Barbara Boxer, the chair of the Senate's environment and public works committee, said yesterday she was ready to move ahead without any Republican participation.

This is a re-posting of a previous video because things are happening so fast in the USA right now. In my next video I will show you exactly what is being reported now. This video is from 2007. This was the month I ordered my Air New Zealand plane ticket and exited the country. If you can get out of the big cities and into smaller areas. God bless you all and stay safe. Now for the rest of the report:

Now read:
President Bush, without so much as issuing a press statement, on May 9 signed a directive that granted near dictatorial powers to the office of the president in the event of a national emergency declared by the president.
The "National Security and Homeland Security Presidential Directive," with the dual designation of NSPD-51, as a National Security Presidential Directive, and HSPD-20, as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive, establishes under the office of president a new National Continuity Coordinator. That job, as the document describes, is to make plans for "National Essential Functions" of all federal, state, local, territorial, and tribal governments, as well as private sector organizations to continue functioning under the president's directives in the event of a national emergency.
The directive loosely defines "catastrophic emergency" as "any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions." When the president determines a catastrophic emergency has occurred, the president can take over all government functions and direct all private sector activities to ensure we will emerge from the emergency with an "enduring constitutional government."
Translated into layman's terms, when the president determines a national emergency has occurred, the president can declare to the office of the presidency powers usually assumed by dictators to direct any and all government and business activities until the emergency is declared over. Ironically, the directive sees no contradiction in the assumption of dictatorial powers by the president with the goal of maintaining constitutional continuity through an emergency.
The directive specifies that the assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism will be designated as the National Continuity Coordinator.
Further established is a Continuity Policy Coordination Committee, chaired by a senior director from the Homeland Security Council staff, designated by the National Continuity Coordinator, to be "the main day-to-day forum for such policy coordination."
Currently, the assistant to the president for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism is Frances Fragos Townsend.
Townsend spent 13 years at the Justice Department before moving to the U.S. Coast Guard where she served as assistant commandant for intelligence.
She is a White House staff member in the executive office of the president who also chairs the Homeland Security Council, which as a counterpart to the National Security Council reports directly to the president.
The directive issued May 9 makes no attempt to reconcile the powers created there for the National Continuity Coordinator with the National Emergency Act. As specified by U.S. Code Title 50, Chapter 34, Subchapter II, Section 1621, the National Emergency Act allows that the president may declare a national emergency but requires that such proclamation "shall immediately be transmitted to the Congress and published in the Federal Register."
A Congressional Research Service study notes that under the National Emergency Act, the president "may seize property, organize and control the means of production, seize commodities, assign military forces abroad, institute martial law, seize and control all transportation and communication, regulate the operation of private enterprise, restrict travel, and, in a variety of ways, control the lives of United States citizens."
NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 also makes no reference whatsoever to Congress. The language of the May 9 directive appears to negate any a requirement that the president submit to Congress a determination that a national emergency exists, suggesting instead that the powers of the executive order can be implemented without any congressional approval or oversight.
Homeland Security spokesperson Russ Knocke affirmed that the Homeland Security Department will be implementing the requirements of NSPD-51/ HSPD-20 under Townsend's direction.

The American Self Immolation, Truly a Sight to See
-
As my readers know, I am a fan of economics and of history, as well as politics, a combination that forms some very interesting cycles to research, discuss and argue on. None is so interesting than the death of great nations, for here there is always the self destruction that comes before the final breakups and invasions. As they say: Rome did not fall to the barbarians, all they did was kick in the rotting gates.

-
It can be safely said, that the last time a great nation destroyed itself through its own hubris and economic folly was the early Soviet Union (though in the end the late Soviet Union still died by the economic hand).
-
Now we get the opportunity to watch the Americans do the exact same thing to themselves.
-
The most amazing thing of course, is that they are just repeating the failed mistakes of the past.
-
One would expect their fellow travelers in suicide, the British, to have spoken up by now, but unfortunately for the British, their education system is now even more of a joke than that of the Americans.
-
While taking a small breather from mouthing the never ending propaganda of recovery, never mind that every real indicator is pointing to death and destruction, the American Marxists have noticed that the French and Germans are out of recession and that Russia and Italy are heading out at a good clip themselves.
-
Of course these facts have been wrapped up into their mind boggling non stop chant of "recovery" and hope-change-zombification.
-
What is ignored, of course, is that we and the other three great nations all cut our taxes, cut our spending, made life easy for small business...in other words: the exact opposite of the Anglo-Sphere.
-
That brings us to Cap and Trade. Never in the history of humanity has a more idiotic plan been put forward and sold with bigger lies.
-
Energy is the key stone to any and every economy, be it man power, animal power, wood or coal or nuclear.
-
How else does one power industry that makes human life better (unless of course its making the bombs that end that human life, but that's a different topic).
-
Never in history, with the exception of the Japanese self imposed isolation in the 1600s, did a government actively force its people away from economic activity and industry.
-
Even the Soviets never created such idiocy.
-
The great famine of the late 1920s was caused by quite the opposite, as the Soviets collectivized farms to force peasants off of their land and into the big new factories.
-
Of course this had disastrous results.

-
While Fox News seems to be reveling in the audacious attacks directed against it by the White House and Democrats, the evidence suggests those assaults are, in fact, accomplishing their objectives.
-
Ratings for Fox may be higher, but its coverage suggests the intimidation is actually working.
-
Those who read WND and watch Fox News know it is not unusual for the TV network to pick up investigative reports that first appear in WND – sometimes with credit, often without.
-
But when WND published a shocking book earlier this month called "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," based in part on a daring six-month undercover operation inside the Council on American-Islamic Relations, Fox News blacked out coverage.
-
No interviews with the authors. No interviews with the interns who penetrated the unindicted terrorist front group at great personal risk. No interest.
Fox played it safe.
-
When WND pointed out that a White House adviser, Dalia Mogahed, a supporter of Islamic Shariah law, was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at CAIR's annual fundraising dinner last weekend, again, Fox News took a powder.
-
The cable network that had grabbed attention for recycling WND's original investigative reports on the extremism of Obama's czars – from Van Jones and Brian Jennings to John Holdren and Cass Sunstein – spiked any coverage of the Muslim Mafia exposés – including one linking support from a White House appointee.
-
Mogahed is a senior analyst and executive director of the Gallup Center for Muslim Studies and serves on Obama's Council on Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships. She drew attention when she defended Shariah on a British television show hosted by a member of an extremist Muslim group, insisting the majority of women around the world associate Shariah with "gender justice."
-
Even when Mogahed's name disappeared from the CAIR fundraising program following WND's exclusive reports – replaced by Jesse Jackson – Fox News didn't seem to notice.
-
Why is Fox News AWOL?
-
Is it because the network is gun shy after getting smeared by the White House and Democrats?
-
Is it because princes from Saudi Arabia, where much of CAIR's foreign sponsorship emanates, maintain key ownership holdings at Fox's parent company?
-
Or is it just a journalistic oversight?
Time will tell.
-
Why am I focused on Fox when the rest of the corporate media establishment was also AWOL?
-
Because Fox News has built its reputation with its "fair and balanced" marketing motto. It is directly benefiting from the perception that it is a real alternative news network – one that can be trusted to be a watchdog on government, no matter which party is in power.
-
Fox News still has time to redeem itself – as do my colleagues at other networks and news agencies.
-
It's not too late to tell the American people the truth about the Muslim Mafia and its tentacles in the White House and Congress. The bold investigative leg work has already been done in "Muslim Mafia."
-
CAIR held its 15th annual fundraiser two nights ago. In 2007, the Justice Department named the group an unindicted terrorism co-conspirator with ties to Hamas. Last year's event was apparently supported by the Iranian government. It was also supported by nine members of Congress. This support came more than a year after federal prosecutors had names CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terrorism finance trial.
-
Is it not newsworthy that members of Congress were joined this year by a White House appointee?
-
Is it not newsworthy that members of Congress and a White House appointee helped raise funds for a group with ties even to al-Qaida, as "Muslim Mafia" reveals?
-
When do you think you'll read, hear or see any of this reported elsewhere?
-
Maybe it's time to let those other news agencies know what you already know. Maybe it's time for you to ask them why they are withholding the news from your neighbors. Maybe it's time to insist these so-called "watchdogs" live up to their marketing slogans.

A "hate crimes" plan that opponents have warned will be used to crack down on Christian speech, even the reading of the Bible, is poised to be signed by President Obama, a longtime proponent of the plan to give homosexuals and those with other alternative lifestyles special protections not provided other classes of citizens.
-
The Senate approved the "hate crimes" plan 68-29 today after Democrats strategically attached it to a "must-pass" $680 billion defense appropriations plan.
-
Most Republicans, although normally strong supporters of the U.S. military, opposed the plan.
-
"The inclusion of the controversial language of the hate crimes legislation, which is unrelated to our national defense, is deeply troubling," Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., told Fox News after the vote.
-
The plan also hands out federal money to states and local governments in pursuit of "preventing" hate crimes.
-
Sen. Jim DeMint, R-S.C., said the move is a step toward thought crimes and suggested the bill will be a warning against those to speak out about their religious faith.
-
Obama was strongly supported during his 2008 presidential campaign by homosexual advocates, and has expressed a willingness to act on the proposal, calling it an "important civil rights issue."
-
The plan – which creates federal protections and privileges for homosexuals and other alternative lifestyles but denies those protections to other groups of citizens – earlier was approved in the U.S. House.
-
When the Senate earlier approved a key move, Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel, said, "In … months President Obama and the Democratic-led Congress have forced on the American people the most radical and immoral agenda.
"The administration and the Democratic-led Congress are out of touch with the mainstream. They represent the most fringe extreme elements of America. They will not be able to continue their efforts to undermine moral values, socialize the economy and trash American pride and heritage.
-
"The people will not remain silent forever," he said.
-
The House vote prompted the American Family Association to alert its constituents and create a procedure for them to send e-mails to Washington about the plan.
-
"In its never-ending quest to shred America's Judeo-Christian value system, the left is planning to hurriedly push through a 'thought crimes' bill," the alert said. "So-called 'hate crimes' laws are really laws that criminalize thought, because they punish an individual not for what he did but for what he thought. Politically incorrect thoughts about homosexual behavior will result in enhanced criminal sanctions under this law."
-
The AFA said, "Everywhere hate crimes laws have gone into effect, they have been quickly used to intimidate, silence and punish people of faith who express deeply held religious objections to the normalization of homosexuality.
-
"Such laws not only punish officially disapproved speech and thought, they create two tiers of victims. Under hate crimes laws, some victims get more protections than others, which violates the fundamental American principle of equality under the law," the alert said. "In fact, such laws actively discriminate against heterosexual Christians who are victims of crime, since they will get less legal protection than homosexual victims."
-
The American Family Association said since "sexual orientation" nowhere is defined in the law, "this law will give pedophiles, voyeurs, and exhibitionists special protections, which is why the bill has correctly been called 'The Pedophile Protection Act.'"
-
Also offering an online "contact Washington" process is the organization Pray in Jesus Name, founded by former U.S. Navy Chaplain Gordon Klingenschmitt, who was involuntarily removed from the U.S. military after he prayed "in Jesus name."
-
His organization submitted via fax almost 400,000 petitions to Washington opposing the "hate crimes" law.
-
Also, a separate larger Fed Ex campaign to warn U.S. Senate members of the dangers of the "hate crimes" plan dispatched more than 705,000 letters to senators.
-
The letter-writing effort was organized by WND columnist Janet Porter, who also heads the Faith2Action Christian ministry. It allowed citizens to send individually addressed letters to all 100 senators over their own "signature" for only $10.95.
-
Klingenschmitt said there is a remote chance Obama may not like the proposal, since it is linked to funding for an engine for the F-35 fighter jet, which he has opposed.
-
"If President Obama vetoes the F-35 second engine, as he promised when speaking in Phoenix last spring, he will ironically kill the homosexual agenda and their evil 'Pedophile Protection Act,'" he wrote.
-
Attempts by Republicans to add amendments stating "pedophilia is not protected as a sexual orientation" were blocked by House Democrats.
-
In fact, Rep. Alcee Hastings, D-Fla., said all alternative sexual lifestyles should be protected.
-
"This bill addresses our resolve to end violence based on prejudice and to guarantee that all Americans regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability or all of these 'philias' and fetishes and 'isms' that were put forward need not live in fear because of who they are. I urge my colleagues to vote in favor of this rule," he said.
-
Further, the proposal has a broad definition of "intimidation," so a Christian pastor's sermon could be considered 'hate speech" if heard by an individual who then acts aggressively against someone based on "sexual orientation."
-
The pastor, Klingenschmitt said, could be prosecuted for "conspiracy to commit a hate crime" or "inciting violence against gays" for quoting the Bible.
-
As WND reported, U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder admitted a homosexual activist who is attacked following a Christian minister's sermon about homosexuality would be protected by the proposed federal law, but a minister attacked by a homosexual wouldn't be
-
The revelations came from Holder's June testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, which was taking comments on the proposal. The measure also was the subject of discussion on talk radio host Rush Limbaugh's July 3 show.
-
"This is the question," Limbaugh said. "(Sen.) Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) presents a hypothetical where a minister gives a sermon, quotes the Bible about homosexuality and is thereafter attacked … by a gay activist because of what the minister said about his religious beliefs and what Scripture says about homosexuality. Is the minister protected?"
No, said Holder.
-
"Well, the statute would not – would not necessarily cover that," Holder stated. "We're talking about crimes that have a historic basis. Groups who have been targeted for violence as a result of the color of their skin, their sexual orientation, that is what this statute tends – is designed to cover. We don't have the indication that the attack was motivated by a person's desire to strike at somebody who was in one of these protected groups. That would not be covered by the statute."
-
Continued Limbaugh, "In other words: ministers and whites are not covered by the hate crime statute because we're talking about crimes that have a historic basis, groups who have been targeted for violence as a result of their skin color, sexual orientation. So hate crimes are reserved exclusively for blacks and homosexuals. Everybody else can get to the back of the bus on this one."
-
The bill was nicknamed "The Pedophile Protection Act" when Rep. Steve King proposed an amendment during its trek through the U.S. House that would specify pedophiles could not use the law to protect their activities.
-
Add Sticky NoteMajority Democrats flatly refused.
- And this law comes in the midst of yet another child murder in Florida..(week of Oct 22, 2009). Yeah, protect the child rapists/murderers and thereby force the family members of said child to seek retribution and justice by their own means; thus government's continued contribution to crime. - on 2009-10-23
-
Erik Stanley, senior legal counsel with the Alliance Defense Fund, told WND the move is alarming because "this would be the very first governmental and societal disapproval of a sincerely held religious belief, held by a majority of Americans, namely that homosexual behavior is immoral.
-
"It's the first time the federal government is writing into law a disapproval of that belief," he said.
-
While he said he doesn't believe there will be "immediate" prosecutions of pastors and churches for teaching the biblical injunction that homosexual behavior is sin, "I think the effect on speech and religious speech is nonetheless real."
-
He said he does expect that pastors soon will begin being called to testify in "hate crime" cases in court "as to what that pastor preaches, what the church teaches, what the Bible teaches."
-
"When this happens, there will be a shock wave through pastorates in America," he said.
-
Ultimately, he warned that the homosexual advocates who have pushed the "hate crimes" plan consider this law just the first step "toward silencing Christians."
-
That development already has been observed not only with the enactment of "hate crimes" laws in other nations but in the "hate crime" related speech codes existing on many university campuses in the U.S., Stanley said.

Hoyer Says Constitution’s ‘General Welfare’ Clause Empowers Congress to Order Americans to Buy Health Insurance

-
(CNSNews.com) – House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said that the individual health insurance mandates included in every health reform bill, which require Americans to have insurance, were “like paying taxes.”
-
He added that Congress has “broad authority” to force Americans to purchase other things as well, so long as it was trying to promote “the general welfare.”
-

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) (AP Photo) -
The Congressional Budget Office, however, has stated in the past that a mandate forcing Americans to buy health insurance would be an “unprecedented form of federal action,” and that the “government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States.”
-
Hoyer, speaking to reporters at his weekly press briefing on Tuesday, was asked by CNSNews.com where in the Constitution was Congress granted the power to mandate that a person must by a health insurance policy.
-
Hoyer said that, in providing for the general welfare, Congress had “broad authority.”
-
“Well, in promoting the general welfare the Constitution obviously gives broad authority to Congress to effect that end,” Hoyer said. “The end that we’re trying to effect is to make health care affordable, so I think clearly this is within our constitutional responsibility.”
-
Hoyer compared a health insurance mandate to the government’s power to levy taxes, saying “we mandate other things as well, like paying taxes.”
-
The section of the Constitution Hoyer was referring to, Article I, Section 8, outlines the powers of Congress, including raising taxes, but not the purchasing any type of product or service.
-
The opening paragraph of Section 8 grants Congress the power to raise taxes to, among other things, “provide for the … general welfare of the United States.”
-
Section 8 partly reads: “The Congress shall have Power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States.”
-
The Constitution then details the specific powers of Congress, including raising an Army and Navy, regulating commerce between states, and to “make all laws necessary and proper” for the carrying out of these enumerated powers.
-
“To make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers, and all other Powers vested by this Constitution in the Government of the United States, or in any Department or Officer thereof,” concludes Section 8.
-
CNSNews.com also asked Hoyer if there is a limit to what Congress can mandate that Americans purchase and whether there is anything that specifically could not be mandated to purchase.
-
Hoyer said that eventually the Supreme Court would find a limit to Congress’ power, adding that mandates that unfairly favored one person or company over another would obviously be unconstitutional.
-
“I’m sure the [Supreme] Court will find a limit,” Hoyer said. “For instance, if we mandated that you buy General Motors’ automobiles, I believe that would be far beyond our constitutional responsibility and indeed would violate the Due Process Clause as well – in terms of equal treatment to automobile manufacturers.”
-
Hoyer said that the insurance mandate was constitutional because Congress is not forcing Americans to buy one particular policy, just any health insurance policy.
-
“We don’t mandate that they buy a particular insurance [policy] but what we do mandate is that like driving a car -- if you’re going to drive a car, to protect people on the roadway, and yourself, and the public for having to pay your expenses if you get hurt badly – that you need to have insurance,” said Hoyer.
-
In 1994, the Congressional Budget Office reported the following about health insurance mandates: “A mandate requiring all individuals to purchase health insurance would be an unprecedented form of federal action. The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States.
-
An individual mandate would have two features that, in combination, would make it unique. First, it would impose a duty on individuals as members of society. Second, it would require people to purchase a specific service that would be heavily regulated by the federal government.”
-
Under all five of the health care bills currently being considered in Congress, every American adult would have to have a policy that conformed to government standards for coverage and premiums.
-
Each bill creates Bronze, Silver, and Gold health insurance plans and mandates that Americans buy one of them, either through their employer or through government-run exchanges.
-
David B. Rivkin, a constitutional lawyer with Baker & Hostetler, told CNSNews.com that Hoyer’s argument was “silly,” adding that if the general welfare clause was that elastic, then nothing would be outside of Congress’ powers.
-
“Congressman Hoyer is wrong,” Rivkin said. “The notion that the general welfare language is a basis for a specific legislative exercise is all silly because if that’s true, because general welfare language is inherently limitless, then the federal government can do anything.
“The arguments are, I believe, feeble,” he said.

Global Research, October 20, 2009
-
The bipartisan consensus that encourages unaccountable secret state agencies to illegally spy on the American people under color of a limitless, and highly profitable, "war on terror" was dealt a (minor) blow October 13.
-
Federal District Court Judge Jeffrey White denied a motion by the Obama administration that the court issue a 30-day stay to "release records relating to telecom lobbying over last year's debate over immunity for corporate participation in government spying," the Electronic Frontier Foundation reported.
-
The Justice Department had argued that the Bush, and now, the Obama administration's Office of Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) and Congress were exempt from releasing lobbying records under the Freedom of Information Act, since consultations amongst said grifters were protected as "intra-agency" records.
-
One might add, since the 2001 terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, a well-funded surveillance-industrial-complex fueled by giant defense firms and the telecommunications industry have, as investigative journalist Tim Shorrock reported back in 2005 "fielded armies of lobbyists to keep the money flowing."
-
White's denial of a motion for a stay followed a startling admission by Department of Justice (DoJ) attorneys that America's telecommunication firms are actually "an arm of the government--at least when it comes to secret spying," Wired reported October 8.
-
The government had argued that:
"The communications between the agencies and telecommunications companies regarding the immunity provisions of the proposed legislation have been regarded as intra-agency because the government and the companies have a common interest in the defense of the pending litigation and the communications regarding the immunity provisions concerned that common interest."
U.S. District Court Judge Jeffery White disagreed and ruled on September 24 that the feds had to release the names of the telecom employees that contacted the Justice Department and the White House to lobby for a get-out-of-court-free card. (Ryan Singel, "Telephone Company Is Arm of Government, Feds Admit in Spy Suit," Wired, October 8, 2009) -
EFF had sued the state in order to discover what role telecom lobbyists played in persuading Congress to grant the nation's telecommunications' giants retroactive immunity for their role in illegal spying as part of the Bush, and now, Obama regime's Presidential Spying Program.
-
If congressional grifters who have reaped serious campaign contributions from deep-pocket telecoms had not granted companies such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon and other carriers retroactive immunity, potential privacy breaches and claims from EFF's Hepting vs. AT&T, and dozens of other lawsuits, could have potentially cost the firms billions in damages.
-
A federal district court judge dismissed Hepting in June, ruling that the companies had immunity from liability under provisions of the despicable FISA Amendments Act (FAA).
-
In dismissing the state's motion for a stay in the telecom lobbying records case, EFF senior staff attorney Kurt Opsahl wrote,
On October 8, the day before the documents were due, the DOJ and ODNI filed an emergency motion asking the Court of Appeals for a 30-day stay while the agencies continue to contemplate an appeal. Around noon on October 9, the Ninth Circuit denied their emergency motion, telling the government it had to file for a motion for a stay pending appeal in the district court first.
Later that afternoon, the government filed again in the federal district court, but once again did not seek a stay pending an actual appeal. Instead, for the third time, the government insisted it could delay the release of telecom lobbying records while it considered the pros and cons of appealing. Briefing was complete by noon today, and Judge White denied the third attempt at delay this afternoon. (Kurt Opsahl, "Federal Court Denies Government Attempt to Delay Release of Telecom Records. Again.," Electronic Frontier Foundation, News Update, October 13, 2009) -
Judge White noted that the Obama administration's cynical "directive on transparency in government" applied to "the warrantless wiretapping program" and insisted that the "public interest lies in favor of disclosure" of pertinent lobbying records.
-
The ruling is all the more remarkable when one considers that Judge White was appointed to the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, the most civil liberties' friendly court in the nation, by none other than world class war criminal and corrupter-in-chief, George W. Bush.
-
Corrupting Congress, Subverting the Bill of Rights
-
Last year, Antifascist Calling reported that the congressional watchdog group, MAPLight, published a list of campaign contributions to congressional Democrats who had changed their votes on FAA's crucial retroactive immunity provision.
-
Significantly, then congressman and current White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel, pulled-in some $28,000, "blue dog" Democrat Steny Hoyer "earned" $29,000 while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, hardly a slouch when it comes to contributions from her "constituents"--grifting capitalists--raked-in $24,500 from the telecoms.
-
Analyzing the "change of heart" by congressional Democrats between between the March 14, 2008 vote which rejected retroactive immunity and the June 20, 2008 vote approving it, MAPLight researchers discovered that "Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint gave PAC contributions averaging: "$8,359 to each Democrat who changed their position to support immunity for Telcos (94 Dems)" and "$4,987 to each Democrat who remained opposed to immunity for Telcos (116 Dems)."
-
According to MAPLight: "88 percent of the Dems who changed to supporting immunity (83 Dems of the 94) received PAC contributions from Verizon, AT&T, or Sprint during the last three years (Jan. 2005-Mar. 2008)."
-
The group reported that after the June 20 vote, "Verizon, AT&T, and Sprint gave PAC contributions averaging (for all House members): "$9,659 to each member of the House voting "YES" (105-Dem, 188-Rep)" and "$4,810 to each member of the House voting "NO" (128-Dem, 1-Rep)."

Daniel Newman, MAPLight's Executive Director said at the time: "Campaign contributions bias our legislative system. Simply put, candidates who take positions contrary to industry interests are unlikely to receive industry funds and thus have fewer resources for their election campaigns than those whose votes favor industry interests."
Proving once again, that ours' is the best Congress money can buy. -
White House Planning "Limited Hangout"
-
The saga over the release of secret state documents continues to rage out of public sight, even as the corporate media "reports" for endless hours on the (media manufactured) tale of the Colorado "balloon boy."
So corrupt and degenerated has our political culture become that a simple Google search reveals that as of October 17 there are some 15,000,000 search results available for the term "balloon boy" while only 520,000 hits for the term "EFF warrantless wiretapping." -
As Project Censored notes, modern censorship is defined "as the subtle yet constant and sophisticated manipulation of reality in our mass media outlets. On a daily basis, censorship refers to the intentional non-inclusion of a news story--or piece of a news story--based on anything other than a desire to tell the truth. Such manipulation can take the form of political pressure (from government officials and powerful individuals), economic pressure (from advertisers and funders), and legal pressure (the threat of lawsuits from deep-pocket individuals, corporations, and institutions)."
-
Clearly, the series of lawsuits by EFF and other civil liberties' watchdogs challenging the secret state's pervasive surveillance of the American people is a case study of "intentional non-inclusion" by corporate media.
-
Nevertheless, the Electronic Frontier Foundation reported October 15, that the Director of National Intelligence and DoJ attorneys "filed yet another emergency motion with the Ninth Circuit, asking for a stay of the deadline to release telecom immunity lobbying documents, less than 24 hours before the documents are due to be released to the public."
-
According to the government's motion, the Executive Branch has refused to disclose the names of telecom lobbyists and company representatives because, get this, "the agencies ... invoked Exemption 6 [to the Freedom of Information Act] which protects information about individuals whose disclosure 'would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy'." It doesn't get any cheekier than that even by cynical Washington standards!
-
DoJ attorneys once again, have resurrected that old chestnut--national security--to conceal the identities of telecom shills and the politicians who do their bidding, claiming that "disclosure of such information would assist our adversaries in drawing inferences about whether certain telecommunications companies may or may not have assisted the government in intelligence-gathering activities."
-
In other words, the public's right to know how our rights are being systematically violated--and who profits--is, by inference, another "tool" that will allow al-Qaeda to kidnap your kids, impose sharia law and detonate a nuke in Wichita!
-
Indeed, the secret state's new motion avers that "disclosure of the identities of those individuals and entities that may have assisted, or in the future may assist, the government with intelligence activities could impede the government's ability to gather intelligence information."
-
Meanwhile, Politico reported that the Obama administration "may be on the verge of a major concession in a long-running legal battle over records about so-called telecom immunity."
-
A leaked email to the publication, probably by a friendly source inside the White House, reveals that the administration is preparing for "the possible release of some details of the Bush Administration's lobbying for legislation giving telecommunications companies immunity from lawsuits over their involvement in warrantless domestic wiretapping." (emphasis added)
-
However, the devil as they say, is in those closely-guarded details. Politico reports that the administration will continue its legal battle "to keep secret the identities of the companies involved in the program."
-
In other words having lost in the court's, the administration will move into damage control mode by disclosing a few insignificant "facts" as it camouflages the scope of these illegal programs and continues to conceal the identities of telecom lobbyists and their congressional partners in crime from public scrutiny.
-
This is nothing less than an updated version of a classic Washington "limited hangout."
-
The Obama administration's Justice Department, similar to President Nixon's sacrificial offering of close advisers to congressional investigators at the height of the Watergate scandal, will leverage these paltry "facts" into an opportunity to appear "transparent," even as it continues to obfuscate, delay and deny; thus continuing the cover-up.
-
House legal counsel Irv Nathan informed relevant congressional committees that the White House Counsel's Office agreed to "provide lawmakers and their staffs with copies of the records being prepared for release in connection with a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by an internet-focused civil liberties group, the Electronic Frontier Foundation."
-
Politico reported that "the move could also be a litigating tactic to surrender some of the less sensitive information in the case in order to bolster the government's credibility for a determined attempt to protect the most sensitive data: the names of the companies which were seeking immunity."
-
According to Nathan, the Justice Department plans "to renew its motion for a stay in the Court of Appeals limited to a very small number of documents, not including the communications with Congress."
-
Among the details leaked to Politico, Nathan wrote House leaders: "We understand that there are few, if any, communications from Members that are in the materials. ... We have been previously advised that there is nothing very disturbing or embarrassing in these particular communications, but a generalized worry about the precedent this sets for future inter-branch communications." (emphasis added)
-
Unfortunately, neither Mr. Nathan nor Politico have revealed what might prove "very disturbing or embarrassing" to members of Congress in the documents the Obama administration plans to withhold.
-
If past lobbying practices are a signpost for the present, one can hazard an informed guess and conclude that Congress and their Executive Branch counterparts have much to hide.
-
According to OpenSecrets.org, AT&T contributed some $8,191,618; Verizon Communications showered some $6,830,000; Qualcomm Inc. handed over $3,080,000; Qwest Communications $1,829,542 and Sprint/Nextel coughed-up some $1,306,000 to "our" representatives. By any standard, this is serious money by powerful constituencies not to be trifled with.
-
Indeed, the "big four" firms caught-up in the warrantless wiretapping scandal have showered Congress with millions in payouts.
-
Like their Republican colleagues across the aisle, the Democrats have operated a revolving door between powerful corporations, financial institutions and secret state agencies, under the guise of bringing entrepreneurial expertise into government and "security" for our nation's citizens.
They do neither. -
Something as trivial as the rights of the American people to speak their minds, protest endless imperialist wars of aggression, the looting of the economy and the degradation of the environment for profit will however, continue to come under the lens of an out-of-control national security state committed to facilitating the greasing of various palms well into the future.

BATFE ATF firearms taxes IRS US-Govt Constitution gun-owners thomas-dodd politicians congress americans GCA-68 gun-laws
-
The Democrats, in particular Senator Thomas Dodd, heavily promoted the 1968 law as a juvenile crime reduction bill.
-
Then along came gun control laws and restrictions.
- 48 more annotations...
-
-
Thomas Dodd was eventually censured in the Senate for diverting political campaign funds to his personal account, then spending the money.
-
If the name is familiar, he is the father of Senator Chris Dodd, who is also an advocate of limiting gun rights. His father was eventually defeated in 1970 with his seat taken by Lowell Weicker.
-
And are we better off since GCA-68?
-
Crime statistics would say no. Are we better off with the thousands of gun laws enacted nationwide since GCA-68? Again, the answer would be no. Violent crime rose over the 41-year period without regard to strict gun control laws enacted during that time.
-
So, let’s get rid of the gun laws.
-
The idea of eliminating gun restrictions would seem incredibly outlandish to a significant portion of Americans today. Most have been so conditioned by our government that ownership of guns creates crime, if elimination of gun laws were placed on a referendum for voters, it would likely go down in defeat.
-
Yet, history proves that unrestricted gun rights were quite prevalent for the majority of our history during which we experienced relatively low levels of crime.
-
But what of criminals you ask?
-
If gun availability were unrestricted, then criminals would obtain guns. Criminals obtain guns today despite the myriad of restrictions and laws.
-
If 2% of the population has criminal tendencies, does it make sense to place restrictions on the other 98%?
-
A significant number of felons that are restricted from owning guns are jailed for illegal possession of weapons anyway at some point in their careers. That law doesn’t have to change.
-
What needs to change is the never-ending pursuit of politicians creating laws that frankly do not reduce crime but affects the 98% of the population that aren’t criminals.
-
Politicians have convinced Americans that if they can accept inconvenience, limits, restrictions, and in some cases outright bans, that somehow the 2% that are criminals will end their criminal activities and seek gainful employment.
-
Criminal acts and law-abiding citizens, by definition, are not remotely related to one another. The idea that a criminal will turn over a new leaf because you purchased a firearm legally with a mountain of paperwork, background checks and a waiting period is preposterous on its face.
-
More-so the notion that banning certain firearms from legal ownership by law-abiding citizens reduces crime is even more ridiculous.
-
If 98% of the population is law-abiding and won’t commit a crime with their firearm, does it stand to reason that preventing them from owning that firearm will reduce crime? Well of course not.
-
The belief that it will reduce crime is driven by anti-gun nonsense that suggests the mere ownership of a firearm will induce a law-abiding citizen to commit a crime. Restrictions on law-abiding citizens have no affect on crime whatsoever.
-
But, what would become of the ATF if firearms were traded, sold and otherwise distributed without restrictions?
-
We do know this. Our government has an insatiable appetite for money.
-
As long as Americans consume alcohol and cigarettes that are taxed far beyond reason, there will be smuggling and trafficking of those items to circumvent the law. The ATF can shrink in size and dedicate the balance of its resources for chasing tax-evading cigarette smugglers and moonshiners until politicians come to their senses and realize that they themselves are the cause of crime, not criminals.
-
The investigations into bombings and terrorism should go to the FBI where it rightfully belongs.
-
Will Americans and politicians ever come to their senses on eliminating the labyrinth of gun laws? It’s unlikely.
-
We unfortunately are byproducts of our environment. Our environment has been filled with crazy propaganda made up of illogical ideas and notions.
-
A famous American once said ‘there’s a sucker born every minute,’ and we have a few million to prove this point. Too many Americans have accepted illogical ideas as fact.
-
If Americans only thought about it for five minutes, they would realize how utterly ignorant they have been. Meanwhile, we gainfully employ 5000 people for $1.12 billion a year at the ATF.
-
Some demand ever-increasing restrictions on the law-abiding, under the assumption that we need to protect us from ourselves.
-
And, for each law that is created, creates the opportunity for someone to violate the law, increasing crime, therefore increasing expenditures to fight crime, which were not crimes prior to the law. This is not a prescription for common sense. However, we are not known as a nation with common sense when it comes to gun laws.
-
End the Fear of Your Government
-
As an example, if you plowed around the pro-gun blogs lately, you’ve seen discussion on open-carry. Open-carry advocates walk around with unloaded firearms on their hips in a display of protest for overly restrictive gun rights in California.
-
The protesters are pointing out the difficulty, and in some communities how impossible it is to obtain a conceal-carry permit. They want CCW laws changed to “shall-issue” like the majority of the states.
-
Well now, does it surprise anyone to read how otherwise pro-gun advocates are saying open-carry demonstrations should be stopped? They are foolish they say. They say if you continue to demonstrate the California legislature will act to eliminate the right.
-
Well, as someone so eloquently put it: ‘What good is a right if you can’t exercise it?’ That’s an outstanding response that is simple to understand. It bears repeating. What good is a right if you can’t exercise it?
-
It’s fear of the government. They fear their government and the legal retribution that legislators can muster once they are perceived as being mocked or having their noses tweaked by the very laws they created.
-
Despite being “pro-gun” some have vehemently chastised the open-carry demonstrators. Why?
-
In other words, they fear punishment from politicians. They feel the need to placate them. They give them a level of respect that defies the fact that they are anti-constitutionalists. The very people they placate don’t believe you have any gun rights.
-
Is that how we should live our lives? Should gun owners live in fear of what politicians might do to us?
-
And what does it matter to gun owners who disagree with the open-carry demonstrators if the legislature passed a law banning it? Those who disagree wouldn’t exercise their right anyway, so they have lost nothing.
-
‘Oh, wait a minute they’ll say.’ It might be a problem in the courts if they ban open-carry in California. I have to laugh at some of these people. Those who will not fight for what is right, live in fear.
-
The open-carry debate is a classic example of how some gun owners have fallen into the trap of fear.
-
Ending America’s restrictive gun laws is not a prescription for chaos. We’ve proven that for 170 years prior to GCA-68 and the myriad of gun laws implemented since then.
-
We didn’t need the ATF prior to 1972 to enforce gun laws, because we didn’t have any. We focused on the criminals in those days, not the 98% who are law-abiding.
-
Our system of government has degraded from dealing with the exceptions of our society to implementing laws with a ‘one-size-fits-all’ mentality. This is socialism, not a representative republic based on the principle of individual rights.
-
In this country we are free to succeed, or if we choose, to not succeed. In this country we have a right to choose how we live our lives. We have the right to address our grievances with the government. We have the right to civil discourse and voice our displeasure.
-
Most importantly, we have the right to change our government and those elements within it that don’t serve our interest of maintaining individual rights.
-
And, each of us has the right to do it individually or as part of a group of like minded citizens.
-
If we are to rebuild this country as it was originally intended, we need to eliminate those laws that infringe on an individual’s right to live as they so desire.
-
That should be the mission of our government. If a law restricts our ability to live out our lives unmolested by government, it does not deserve to be a law.
-
As a nation, we should be ashamed that a $1.12 billion agency exists with almost 75% of its resources dedicated for the purpose of restricting constitutional rights under the guise that it makes us safer as a country. It is an abomination to our Constitution and an affront to our civil rights. It’s time to get the “F” out of ATF.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. Yes, CAIR is planting 'spies' on Capitol Hill
www.wnd.com/index.php - Preview
CAIR muslims islam US-Govt congress democrats Obama muslim-brotherhood front-groups moles Muslim-Mafia
-
Abdurahman Alamoudi: Another CAIR director, he is serving 23 years in federal prison for plotting terrorism. Alamoudi, who was caught on tape complaining that bin Laden hadn't killed enough Americans in the U.S. embassy bombings in Africa, was one of al-Qaida's top fund-raisers in America, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.
-
Siraj Wahhaj: A member of CAIR's board of advisers, Wahhaj was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The radical Brooklyn imam was close to convicted terrorist Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman, and defended him during his trial.
- 49 more annotations...
-
-
"Muslim Mafia," citing co-author's Sperry's previous book "Infiltration" as well as terror expert Steven Emerson's research, reports that Wahhaj, a black convert to Islam, is converting gang members to Islam and holding "jihad camps" for them. With a combination of Islam and Uzis, he has said, the street thugs will be a powerful force for Islam the day America "will crumble."
-

Siraj Wahha -
Randall "Ismail" Royer: The former CAIR communications specialist and civil-rights coordinator is serving 20 years in prison in connection with the Virginia Jihad Network, which he led while employed by CAIR at its Washington headquarters. The group trained to kill U.S. soldiers overseas, cased the FBI headquarters, and cheered the space shuttle Columbia tragedy. Al-Qaida operative Ahmed Abu Ali, convicted of plotting to assassinate President Bush, was among those who trained with Royer's Northern Virginia cell.
-
Bassam Khafagi: Another CAIR official, Khafagi was arrested in 2003 while serving as CAIR's director of community affairs. He pleaded guilty to charges of bank and visa fraud stemming from a federal counterterror probe of his leadership role in the Islamic Assembly of North America, which has supported al-Qaida and advocated suicide attacks on America. He was sentenced to 10 months in prison and deported to his native Egypt.
-
Laura Jaghlit: A civil-rights coordinator for CAIR, her Washington-area home was raided by federal agents after 9/11 as part of an investigation into terrorist financing, money laundering and tax fraud. Her husband Mohammed Jaghlit, a key leader in the Saudi-backed SAAR network, is a target of the still-active probe.
-
Last decade, Jaghlit sent two letters accompanying donations – one for $10,000, the other for $5,000 – from the SAAR Foundation to Sami al-Arian, now a convicted terrorist. In each letter, according to a federal affidavit, "Jaghlit instructed al-Arian not to disclose the contribution publicly or to the media."
-
Investigators suspect the funds were intended for Palestinian terrorists via a U.S. front called WISE, which at the time employed an official who personally delivered a satellite phone battery to Osama bin Laden. The same official also worked for Jaghlit's group.
-
In addition, Jaghlit donated a total of $37,200 to the Holy Land Foundation, which prosecutors say is a Hamas front. Jaghlit subsequently was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the ongoing case.
-
Nihad Awad: Wiretap evidence from the Holy Land case puts CAIR's executive director at a Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders and activists that was secretly recorded by the FBI. Participants allegedly hatched a plot to disguise payments to Hamas terrorists as charitable giving.
-
During the meeting, according to FBI transcripts, Awad was recorded discussing the propaganda effort. He mentions Ghassan Dahduli, whom he worked with at the time at the Islamic Association for Palestine, another Hamas front. Both were IAP officers.
-
Dahduli's name also was listed in the address book of bin Laden's personal secretary, Wadi al-Hage, who is serving a life sentence in prison for his role in the U.S. embassy bombings.
-
Dahduli, an ethnic-Palestinian like Awad, was deported to Jordan after 9/11 for refusing to cooperate in the terror investigation. (An April 28, 2009 letter from FBI assistant director Richard C. Powers to Sen. Jon Kyl explains how the group's many Hamas connections caused the FBI to sever ties with CAIR.)
-

Nihad Awad -
Awad's and Dahduli's phone numbers are listed in a Muslim Brotherhood document seized by federal investigators revealing "important phone numbers" for the "Palestine Section" of the Brotherhood in America. The court exhibit shows Hamas fugitive Mousa Abu Marzook listed on the same page with Awad.
-
Omar Ahmad: U.S. prosecutors also named CAIR's founder and chairman emeritus as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land case. Ahmad too was placed at the Philly meeting, FBI special agent Lara Burns testified at the trial. Prosecutors also designated him as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood's "Palestine Committee" in America. Ahmad, like his CAIR partner Awad, is ethnic-Palestinian.
-
(Though both Ahmad and Awad were senior leaders of IAP, the Hamas front, neither of their biographical sketches posted on CAIR's website mentions their IAP past.)
-

Omar Ahmad -
Nabil Sadoun: A CAIR board member, Sadoun has served on the board of the United Association for Studies and Research, which investigators believe to be a key Hamas front in America. In fact, Sadoun co-founded UASR with Hamas leader Marzook. The Justice Department added UASR to the list of unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land case.
-
Mohamed Nimer: CAIR's current research director also served as a board director for UASR, the strategic arm for Hamas in the U.S. CAIR neglects to mention Nimer's and Sadoun's roles in UASR in their bios.
-
Rafeeq Jaber: A founding director of CAIR, Jaber was the long-time president of the Islamic Association for Palestine. In 2002, a federal judge found that "the Islamic Association for Palestine has acted in support of Hamas." In his capacity as IAP chief, Jaber praised Hezbollah attacks on Israel. He also served on the board of a radical mosque in the Chicago area.
-

Mohamed Nimer -
Rabith Hadid: The CAIR fund-raiser was a founder of the Global Relief Foundation, which after 9/11 was blacklisted by Treasury for financing al-Qaida and other terror groups. Its assets were frozen in December 2001. Hadid was arrested on terror-related charges and deported to Lebanon in 2003.
-
Hamza Yusuf: The FBI investigated the CAIR board member after 9/11, because just two days before the attacks, he made an ominous prediction to a Muslim audience.
"This country is facing a terrible fate and the reason for that is because this country stands condemned," Yusuf warned. "It stands condemned like Europe stood condemned because of what it did. And lest people forget, Europe suffered two world wars after conquering the Muslim lands."
-
CAIR's founder Ahmad, while claiming to be a moderate and patriotic American, last decade told a group of Muslims in Northern California that they are in America to help assert Islam's rule over the country.
-
Ahmad insists he was misquoted. However, an FBI wiretap transcript quotes Ahmad agreeing with terrorist suspects gathered last decade at the secret Philly meeting to "camouflage" their true intentions.
-
He compared it to the head fake in basketball. "This is like one who plays basketball: He makes a player believe that he is doing this, while he does something else," Ahmad said. "I agree with you. Like they say, politics is a completion of war."
-
'Spies' on Capitol Hill?
-
"The alarm on the Hill isn't over Muslim staffers but CAIR-sponsored staffers – people who happen to be Muslim who have worked for a front group with proven ties to terrorism," author Sperry said. "That's the issue, and CAIR knows it, which is why they're so desperate to change the subject."
-
The CAIR document
cited by Myrick and other congressmen, obtained during the "Muslim Mafia" undercover
investigation, says: "We will focus on influencing congressmen responsible for policy
that directly impacts the American Muslim community. (For example,
congressmen on the judiciary, intelligence, and homeland security
committees.) ... We will develop national initiatives such as a lobby
day and placing Muslim interns in congressional offices." -
According to "Muslim Mafia," Internal CAIR communications and other documents reveal that CAIR has strategically placed operatives inside the federal offices of Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, D-Texas, Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., and Rep. Joe Sestak, D-Pa., among others.
-
Here are some that have been placed in congressional offices between 2006 and 2009:
-
Sestak aide Adeeba al-Zaman, for one, booked the congressman to speak at a $50-a-plate CAIR fundraiser in Philadelphia where he praised CAIR and Islam’s supposedly "peaceful" tenets.
-
Sestak, a retired vice admiral, shared the spotlight with another special guest that night in April 2007 at the posh Hilton Philadelphia. As he and his congressional staff looked on, CAIR's national chairman presented an award to the founder of Bridges TV – Muzzammil Hassan – who recently confessed to murdering his wife by decapitation.
-
Before serving as Sestak's outreach coordinator, al-Zaman was communications director of CAIR's Philadelphia chapter. Her stepfather serves on the organization's board and also heads a local mosque, the Islamic Society of Greater Valley Forge, which is controlled by the Islamic Circle of North America, a Muslim Brotherhood front group, according to federal court documents.
-
Over at the Senate, CAIR has cultivated Muslim moles inside the offices of key Democrat leaders – including Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee's subcommittee on human rights. His aide Reema Dodin – who's in regular contact with CAIR – is a Palestinian rights activist who organized anti-Israel rallies as a campus radical at UC Berkeley.
-
Commenting on the 9/11 attacks as a leader of the radical Muslim Students Association – which was founded by Muslim Brotherhood members – Dodin explained away the suicide attacks as a tragic but inevitable response to U.S. support for Israel, which she says is "angering" Muslims the world over.
-
"No one wants to stop and think that these young men, in the prime of their lives, choose to do this to themselves. Why?" she said in an interview with a campus magazine. "Because now you have three generations of Palestinians born under occupation.
"Maybe if you start to look at Palestinians as human beings," she added, "you will stop the suicide bombers."
-
Dodin went on to justify violent jihad. "Islam does teach that you must defend yourself," she said. "You cannot lie down and allow yourself, your home, your property, your family, and your people to be consistently oppressed."
-
Add Sticky NoteAt the same time, she condemned U.S. strikes against the Taliban and al-Qaida in Afghanistan, complaining that the military was "just going to hit innocent civilians."
- Is this why Obama is dragging his feet; coming up with excuse after excuse to not make a decision on General McChrystal's request for more troops and resources? - on 2009-10-19
-
Today, Durbin's legislative aide points to the election of two Muslim congressmen – Democrats Ellison of Minnesota and Andre Carson of Indiana – as proof Muslims can penetrate "the system" and bring about change from within.
-
All told, there are now upwards of 50 Muslim activists working on Capitol Hill today, according to "Muslim Mafia." Their growing presence raises alarms, counterintelligence officials say, because a stated goal of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood is the infiltration of key government agencies and institutions like Congress.
-
Indeed, during a secret Muslim Brotherhood meeting he organized last decade, CAIR founder and former chair Omar Ahmad expressed the need to strengthen "the influence with Congress." He argued for using Muslims as an "entry point" to "pressure Congress and the decision makers in America" to change U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and other policies.
-
The same FBI wiretaps reveal that CAIR’s other founder and current leader, Nihad Awad, early on proposed sponsoring internships and fellowships as a vehicle for infiltrating government "institutions."
-
Until it recently ran out of money, CAIR had been doing exactly that – sponsoring congressional fellowships. In 2007, CAIR budgeted $50,000 for two fellows, according to an internal spreadsheet. It filled at least one of those fellowship positions that year.
-
In a 2007 report to Awad, a copy of which was obtained during 2008's undercover operation, CAIR Legislative Director Corey Saylor reported that he "placed Samia Elshafie in the office of Representative Jackson-Lee." Elshafie has acted as the congresswoman’s office contact for human rights issues.
-
Saylor, in a recent on-camera Fox News Channel interview, repeatedly refused to condemn the terror groups Hamas or Hezbollah.
-
Since the election, Saylor, a white Muslim convert, has worked with Jihad F. Saleh, a top Meeks aide and program coordinator for the Congressional Muslim Staffers Association, to promote more Muslims into positions of power. They think the Muslim-friendly 111th Congress and the Obama administration offer fertile ground for planting agents for the cause.
-
"The past election was a watershed for the Muslim community," says Saleh, a black Muslim convert previously known as Benny "B.J." Williams.
-
Saleh, 34, has been busy conducting workshops for "Muslim professionals" to "capitalize" on the change in power and "ensure that Muslim Americans are prominent in the Obama administration."
As Larry Shaw, CAIR's national chairman, said recently: "We look forward to partnering with the Obama administration."

Sibel Edmonds worked as a language specialist for the FBIs Washington Field Office. During her work with the bureau, she discovered and reported serious acts of security breaches, cover-ups, and intentional blocking of intelligence that had national security implications. After she reported these acts to FBI management, she was retaliated against and ultimately fired in March 2002. Since that time, court proceedings on her issues have been blocked by the assertion of State Secrets Privilege by Attorney General Ashcroft, and the Congress of the United States has been gagged and prevented from any discussion of her case through retroactive re-classification issued by the Department of Justice.
