- This month Eric Prince has resigned from the scandal ridden Xe inc. formerly know as Blackwater, revealing a decade long relationship as a deep cover CIA operative specifically tasked with building and mobilizing an elite army of private assassins for the CIA.
- For the past six years, Prince "appears to have led an astonishing double life," writes Adam Ciralsky.
- "Publicly, he has served as Blackwater’s CEO and chairman. Privately, and secretly, he has been doing the CIA’s bidding, helping to craft, fund, and execute operations ranging from inserting personnel into 'denied areas'—places US intelligence has trouble penetrating—to assembling hit teams targeting Al-Qaeda members and their allies."
- Blackwater is and has been from the on set a private army or extension of the CIA. An army that has been implicated in killing civilians, bombing mosques [VIDEO], torture, smuggling weapons, dressing up as aid workers, CIA Raids, and even running child prostitution rings [VIDEO] only to be unsuccessful at paying off Iraqi officials in an attempt to cover up their crimes.
- As barbarically unnecessary and costly Blackwater is, the media has tried to dismiss a lot of these reports as just another one of Dick Cheney's Frankenstein monster hold overs from the Bush administration that is slowly being dismantled.
- Unfortunately Obama has also been utilizing the ever eager Blackwater special operatives for the Pakistani drone program that has been an absolute PR disaster due to the civilian casualties that stain headlines on a weekly basis.
- With these startling revelations, it is little wonder the U.S. government can't seem to stop using, or separate itself from an obviously mismanaged and brutal element of their supposed war on terror.
- This death squad role and relationship can be traced back to Israel and the training they gave these special forces in the lead up to the major ground assults in Afghanistan and Iraq.
- In fact it was reported in 2003 Israel had been training special forces units as assassination squads,
- and why not considering Bush adviser and future 9/11 cover-up artist Philip Zelikow stated right around that same time period that we invaded Iraq with the sole purpose of protecting Israel.
- The Pakistani drone program Jeremy Scahill writes in the nation is really a top-secret Joint Strategic Operation Command (JSOC) program.
- The previously unreported program, the military intelligence source said, is distinct from the CIA assassination program that the agency's director, Leon Panetta, announced he had canceled in June 2009.
- "This is a parallel operation to the CIA," said the source. "They are two separate beasts."
- The program puts Blackwater at the epicenter of a US military operation within the borders of a nation against which the United States has not declared war--knowledge that could further strain the already tense relations between the United States and Pakistan.
- In 2006, the United States and Pakistan struck a deal that authorized JSOC to enter Pakistan to hunt Osama bin Laden with the understanding that Pakistan would deny it had given permission. Officially, the United States is not supposed to have any active military operations in the country.
- They are a compartmentalized group of elite operatives which have been tasked with finding and killing Al-Qaeda militants is what we are being told,
- but what we really see here is a covert, military backed force, circumventing the oversight and constitutional authority of our elected officials in congress, and is shaping up to be one of the biggest scandals of the decade.
- Allowing the CIA, the masters of overthrowing Governments and staging coups to have it's own private army, stationed in training facilities on American soil has got to be the greatest threat to liberty America has seen in recent years.
- Just Al-Qeada Really?
- Numerous reports state Al-Qaeda has been reduced to a handful of scattered pockets and even an acknowledgment by the Obama administration that Osama Bin Laden has been known to be dead since Dec. 13, 2001.
- In fact it has been reported that the JSOC is running the show in both Afghanistan and Pakistan by two high ranking Navy officers Vice Admirals William McRaven and Robert Harward
- "Two senior military officers from the shadowy world of Special Operations are playing a large and previously unreported role in shaping the Obama administration’s Afghanistan and Pakistan strategy, a move that underscores that the internal debate has moved past a rigid choice between expansive missions to provide security for Afghan civilians and narrowly tailored missions to find and kill terrorists."
- The Big Picture
- So besides protecting the Opium and Oil fields, what is the strategic objective of funding a Blackwater staffed JSOC organized, covert operations against middle eastern targets of the United States?
- Especially when Al-Qaeda is nothing more than an admitted specter.
- The answer is given to us through the suspiciously precognitive writing of former Sen. Gary Hart who writes in a Huffington post article this past Nov. 11, 2009
- "Among the early lessons of Afghanistan and Iraq, however, is that 21st century conflict demands Special Forces and small unit capabilities even more than traditional big divisions, large carrier task groups, and long range strategic bombers. Historic nation-state wars, though always plausible, are declining. Irregular, unconventional warfare involving dispersed terrorist cells, stateless nations, insurgencies, and tribes, clans, and gangs are increasing dramatically."
- He then asks,
  
  "...are our present and planned force structures configured for new military threats; are weapons procurement programs continuation of traditional acquisitions or focused on future requirements; is the intelligence community properly coordinated and focused on emerging realities; for non-military concerns--such as failed states, radical fundamentalism, pandemics, climate degradation, energy dependence, and resource competition-
- are new international coalitions needed; are existing alliances adequate to anticipate and respond to these crises or are new ones required; most of all, does our government require new legislative authority to achieve national security under dramatically changing conditions?"
- We see here that Hart who also wrote a book on the subject called Under the Eagles Wings: A National Security Strategy of the United States for 2009
- has easily just expanded the use and role of these rogue assassination units from foreign operations against terrorists, to operations against what he terms as "non-military threats" or "stateless nations" inside the United States and abroad.
- He goes further in his book stating,
  
  "We will be required to conduct multinational training exercises between our special forces and those of other nations. We must operate jointly and collectively against Jihadi and other terrorist groups that endanger the security of all.
- We will find it necessary to integrate communications systems and databases among law enforcement and public safety agencies of liberal democratic nations. Pg. 17"
- Isn't this exactly what we are seeing with the reported CIA/Blackwater operations in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan?
- They're not over their just fighting Al-Qaeda, but using the war on terror as a front operation to train multinational privatized commandos and integrating the fighting forces of the developed nations? We have Delta Force, Rangers, CIA, Green Beret, S.E.A.L's, IDF,Mossad, Mi5, SAS, Marines etc. etc., all being utilized and training as rapid deployment forces and occupation forces to better serve as a cohesive militarily force in a increasingly globalized world.
- In the Homeland
- It would be one thing if it was only Al-Qaeda and militants on foreign shores they were after,
- but in a incredibly revealing article from the New York Times we see that they were operational in the United States during the 2005 Bush inauguration in direct violation of Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 as stated in the article.
- "These commandos, operating under a secret counter-terrorism program code-named Power Geyser, were mentioned publicly for the first time this week on a Web site for a new book, "Code Names: Deciphering U.S. Military Plans, Programs and Operation in the 9/11 World," (Steerforth Press). The book was written by William M. Arkin, a former intelligence analyst for the Army.
- The precise number of these Special Operations forces in Washington this week is highly classified, but military officials say the number is very small. The special-missions units belong to the Joint Special Operations Command, a secretive command based at Fort Bragg, N.C., whose elements include the Army unit Delta Force."
- If you count Blackwaters apperance in Katrina, they are used to training and operating on American soil and conducting training exercises that run into unfortunate deaths like what happened on a Colorado Mountain top in August
- The Blackwater story is the actualized realization of Gary Hart's book, and it all happened in 2009 just like the title suggested.

- As
  I have explained before, the Nazis were simply a subpart of a larger
  Power Elite (PE) plan for world domination.
- And to find out who funded
  Hitler, you might read James and Suzanne Pool’s Who Financed
  Hitler: The Secret Funding of Hitler’s Rise to Power 1919-1933.
- Before
  WWII, John J. McCloy was an attorney for IG Farben (German chemical
  company), and as the war ended McCloy helped many Nazis avoid prosecution.
- For example, the infamous Klaus Barbie and others reportedly were sent
  to the 370th Counter Intelligence Corps at Oberammergau where Private
  Henry Kissinger (McCloy’s protégé) was located.
- In
  Part 2 of this series, I mentioned Nazi General Reinhard von Gehlen
  who was Hitler’s chief intelligence officer. With the war’s
  end, the Gehlen Organization (GO) began working for the U.S., with Allen
  Dulles’ CIA giving the GO hundreds of millions of dollars.
- In
  turn, Gehlen helped Dulles (operating out of Bern, Switzerland) to overthrow
  the elected Mossadegh government in Iran in 1953.
- Gehlen’s
  chief man and successor in the U.S. was SS officer Otto Albrecht von
  Bolschawing, who in 1969 worked for TCI which had classified Defense
  Department contracts.
- Nazi spy George de Mohrenschildt was also in the
  U.S. after WWII. He was a member of the “White Russian”
  (anti-Communist) community and befriended Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin
  of President John F. Kennedy.
- De Mohrenschildt was found shot in 1977
  on the day a U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations investigator
  was to see him. Attorney Mark Lane in Plausible Denial asserts
  that de Mohrenschildt was a CIA contract agent.
- Whenever
  I write about a secret Nazi plan for a coming World Socialist Government,
  there will be those who say that’s a lot of conspiracy nonsense.
  However, one should remember a couple of things pertaining to this.
- First, the government lies to us. In this regard, note the last sentence
  of the first paragraph in the 1971 letter (link
  here) from California Assemblyman E. Richard Barnes to President
  Nixon.
- Secondly,
  it’s not paranoia to say the government has been monitoring me,
  because I witnessed it when I was in the federal government.
- I had thought
  the government was monitoring my phone calls, so one day I didn’t
  hang up when the other party did. Then I stayed silently on the phone
  for several minutes, determined to outwait my monitors. Finally, two
  voices came on the line – one saying “I guess he hanged
  up” and the other jokingly agreeing with him!
- In
  Part 3 of this series, I mentioned that Reich Propaganda Minister
  Joseph Goebbels in 1940 said that in the future “people will no
  longer think in terms of countries… [but rather] in terms of continents.”
- Relevant to this, Reuters on November 4, 2009 reported Czech president
  Vaclav Klaus finally reluctantly signed the Lisbon Treaty creating “a
  new, full-time president of the EU and foreign minister”
- and internal
  changes to the EU’s system of lawmaking which will “mean
  individual countries will have a harder time blocking EU legislation.”
- Klaus explained that “the Czech Republic will cease to be a sovereign
  state” after the treaty goes into effect on December 1, 2009.
- Continents
  like Europe with the EU then will be economically and politically merged
  and managed by a World Socialist Government.
- Relevant to that, Howard
  Fineman in Newsweek (October 19, 2009) authored “President of
  Planet Earth,” in which he wrote: “Obama isn’t going
  to be sworn in as planetary president. But it doesn’t matter;
  in his mind, he already is.”
- Concerning global economics, Fineman
  noted that “we cannot revive our economy… without the coordination
  that world leaders talked about at the G20 in Pittsburgh.”
- This
  “coordination” will become “management” of the
  global economy by a World Socialist Government.
- The
  next step in this plan is the first “test” global currency,
  which is the result of a United Future World Currency initiative that
  began in 1996 in Italy by Sandro Sassoli.
- It was based upon advice by
  CFR member Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., who had written in Partisan
  Review (May-June 1947): “There seems to be no inherent obstacle
  to the gradual advance of socialism in the United States through a series
  of New Deals…. The transition must be piecemeal….”
- Years, later, Schlesinger wrote in the CFR’s Foreign Affairs
  (July-August 1995): “We are not going to achieve a new world order
  without paying for it in blood as well as in words and money.”
- The
  Royal Mint of Belgium was the first to issue a test coin for the new
  currency, which will be given a final name and symbol via a competition
  by children in 1000 schools throughout the world.
- Don’t be surprised
  if the name and symbol just happen to be the ones (“The Phoenix”)
  to which I have referred many times, and which can be seen on the cover
  of The Economist for January 9, 1988.
- To
  show you how long this plan has been operational, reflect upon the fact
  that The Economist said “The Phoenix” was planned
  for 2018.
- And in “The demise of the dollar” (The Independent,
  October 6, 2009), Robert Fisk wrote: “In the most profound change
  in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along
  with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings
  for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese
  yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned
  for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia,
  Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar.
- Secret meetings have already been held
  by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan
  and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer
  be priced in dollars….
- Chinese financial sources believe President
  Barack Obama is too busy fixing the U.S. economy to concentrate on the
  extraordinary implications of the transition from the dollar in nine
  years’ time. The current deadline for the currency transition
  is 2018.”
- Thus,
  the demise of the dollar as an international exchange currency is imminent.
- In “China alarmed by U.S. money printing” (The Telegraph,
  September 6, 2009), a top Chinese Communist Party member, Cheng Siwei,
  warned: “If they [the U.S.] keep printing money to buy bonds it
  will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall
  hard.
- Most of our foreign reserves are in U.S. bonds and this is very
  difficult to change, so we will diversify incremental resources into
  euros, yen, and other currencies.”
- Siwei also was quoted as saying,
  “Greenspan went wrong from 2000-2004 [because] he thought everything
  was all right because inflation was low, but assets absorbed the liquidity.”
- And referring to the U.S. constantly borrowing and going into debt to
  China and others, Siwei quoted Ben Franklin: “He who goes borrowing,
  goes sorrowing.”
- Yes,
  there really has been a PE plan to bring about a World Socialist Government.
  And yes, there really has been a secret Nazi plan scheduled for fulfillment
  today which was part of the larger PE plan.
- One can even see how people
  today have already accepted certain aspects of the Nazi mentality.
- For
  example, on November 5, 1996 The New York Times published a
  front-page article titled “Ban on Medical Experiments Without
  Consent is Relaxed” by Gina Kolata, which begins:
- “For the
  first time in half a century, new Federal regulations allow investigators
  to enroll patients in some medical research studies without their consent….
  Even the most ardent supporters of the new regulations say they understand
  the seriousness of what they have done.
- They have repealed a principle
  that dates back to the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi doctors after WWII.”
- The Nuremberg Code stated, “The voluntary consent of the human
  subject is essential.”
- Unfortunately,
  many people don’t read today, but they will watch a movie. So,
  I sent the information regarding the secret Nazi plan to Chloe Dan with
  Steven Speilberg, but received a reply “we are returning your
  material herewith unread.”
- At least I tried to prevent the coming
  death of tens of millions of people.
- Lastly,
  if you want some indication that the Nazi movement, which was thought
  to be dead, is still alive via a secret plan, reflect upon the possible
  meaning of Revelation 17, which refers to “the beast that was,
  and is not, and yet is.”

  talk shows in various parts of the country, such as ABC Radio in New York
  City, and he has also been a guest on the national television programs

- LONDON – The director-general of MI5, Jonathan Evans, is warning any attempt to hold a new inquest into the death of government scientist David Kelly could damage the relationship between Britain's intelligence services and the CIA and other foreign services, according to a report from Joseph Farah's G2 Bulletin.

- The warning follows the revelation by six doctors in Britain that they have spent six years gathering evidence to show that Kelly was murdered.
- They are seeking a groundbreaking legal action to demand a new investigation into the scientist's death.
- Kelly was head of the microbiology department at Britain's chemical and biological research center at Porton Down.
- The late David Kelly
- He was found dead at a beauty spot near his home in Southmoor, Oxfordshire, in 2003, days after he was named as a source of a story contending Tony Blair's government "sexed up" its dossier on Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction to justify invading Iraq.
- The government-sponsored Hutton Inquiry into Kelly's death concluded he committed suicide.
- In one final phone conversation, he told a caller he "would not be surprised if my body was found in the woods."
- The original inquest by the Oxfordshire coroner, Nicholas Gardiner, was suspended before it could open.
- A decision was taken by the then Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer – Britain's chief Law Lord – that the ancient Coroners Act would be used to allow the Hutton Inquiry "to fulfill the function of an inquest."
- During its lengthy hearing, former intelligence officers were called to testify, including Sir John Scarlett, head of MI6. But no evidence was given about Kelly's own intelligence background.
- Medical investigators, however, have been told that during his career Kelly had been sent by both MI5 and MI6 to work for the CIA, FBI and Mossad, the Israeli intelligence service.
- He was a regular visitor to Port Detrick, the U.S. biological warfare department, and also worked with the South African specialist in bio-chemical warfare, Wouter Basson.
- MI6 had allowed Kelly to set up a safe house for Basson near Ascot racecourse in Berkshire,
- where he met Larry Ford, who had been recruited by the CIA.
- None of Kelly's contacts on the secret operations entrusted to him by the spy chiefs was ever revealed at the Hutton Inquiry.
- The six doctors include Michael Powers, one of Britain's leading Queen's Counsel and a former coroner. Another is a distinguished trauma surgeon David Halpin. Andrew Rouse is an epidemiologist, a leading expert on suicide committed by cutting the wrist – the cause of death given by the Hutton Inquiry. Another member of the medical team is a surgeon, Martin Birnstead. Two other doctors complete the team, Stephen Frost and Christ Burns-Cox.
- Frost said, "We have amassed hundreds of documents to support our case and there is a strong need to have the inquest into Dr. Kelly reopened."

- The six are Michael Powers, a QC and former coroner; trauma surgeon David Halpin; Andrew Rouse, an epidemiologist who established that deaths from cutting the ulnar artery – as claimed in Dr Kelly's case – are extremely rare; Martin Birnstingl, another surgeon; plus Stephen Frost and Chris Burns-Cox.
- Lord Hutton concluded that Dr Kelly killed himself by severing an ulnar artery in his left wrist after taking an overdose of prescription painkillers but he skated over the controversies about the causes of death.
- The bulk of his report was dedicated to the political row between Downing Street and the BBC, which revealed the sexing-up of the dossier.
- Dr Kelly's death certificate states that he died of a haemorrhage, but the results of a post mortem examination have never been made public.
- Crucially, the doctors say that Lord Hutton had no witnesses on oath and did not have to make a finding, as the coroner does, beyond a reasonable doubt.
- The doctors tried to persuade the coroner to reopen his inquest in 2004 but were rejected because they were not judged to be 'properly interested persons' with the authority to demand an inquiry.
- Now they have hired human rights lawyers Leigh Day & Co to challenge the use of the Coroners Act to close the inquest.
- A source close to the doctors said: 'Lord Falconer is on record saying this is a "useful little law" but it was set up to avoid multiple inquests in cases where there were multiple deaths.
- Lord Hutton concluded Dr David Kelly killed himself
- It has been used for victims of train crashes and the Harold Shipman case but Dr Kelly's was not a multiple death.
- 'We argue that that's an abuse of due process.
- The lawyers have sent the letters this week.
- We have concentrated on the finding on the death certificate that the primary cause of death was a haemorrage. We are spelling out why he could not have died from a cut to the small ulnar artery.'
- One of the doctors, who preferred not to be named, added: 'When the Romans committed suicide they would slit all four arteries in a warm bath, which keeps the blood flowing. The arteries would close up in the open air and you would not lose that much blood.'
- A book on the unanswered questions surrounding the case by Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker concluded that Dr Kelly may have been murdered by Iraqi exiles –
- but the finger has also been pointed at MI5 and the CIA.

  and who are driven to seek "... ever more extreme sexual experiences." And isn't
  this plainly what is happening in the United States today?

- Moreover - and contrary to what most Americans have been led to believe
  - it's not so much the poor in the United States who have become captivated
  by pornography, but the rich and the well-to-do.

  "poor man's sport," but a "sport" (if I can use that term) that only the rich
  and well-to-do can participate in; and it's not so much in the sleazy peep
  shows and arcades featured in the 1979 George C. Scott film Hardcore
  or the 1999 Nicolas Cage film 8MM, but in the residences of the super-rich
  on Park Avenue, in the Hamptons, and in Vail -

  THE PEDOPHILIA WE HAVE BEEN DESCRIBING IS SO READILY FOUND IN THE REPUBLICAN
  PARTY (i.e., THE PARTY OF THE RICH), RATHER THAN IN THE DEMOCRATIC

  a per capita basis in the United States, but they are - naturally enough

  Time-Warner, and the Hilton hotel chain have quietly become major players
  in porn distribution.
- A few years ago the cable TV folks wouldn't go near
  the stuff unless (as in New York City) the porn entrepreneurs managed to get
  on a mandated 'public access' channel. The cable industry's resistance has
  now completely crumbled.
- Consider the success of Hot Network, provided by
  Steve Hirsch's Vivid Entertainment Group, the industry-leading producer of
  high-quality sex videos.
- Since its launch in 1999, Hot Network has taken the
  cable world by storm. As one cable executive anonymously told the Journal's
  Sally Beatty, 'The No. 1 complaint we get is that it's not explicit enough'.
- "America Online, in a sense, is one of the biggest beneficiaries of the Internet
  porn wave, even though it doesn't consider itself 'in' the porn business.
- Yet in private moments, people at the company will acknowledge that a very
  large part of their subscriber traffic is people who use AOL to gain access
  to the 'pornucopia' available on the Internet beyond AOL's own content sites."

  "Wall Street once wouldn't have touched the [porno] business with a 10-foot
  pole. Now it may not brag about the association, but reputable brokerages
  have been glad to help porn-related companies win public listings on U.S.
  stock exchanges.
- Venture firms have been major backers of companies that provide
  billing and tracking services for on-line smut merchants. For that matter,
  Visa and Mastercard play a large role in the industry by processing its payments."
- And the list of companies involved in the "pornographic trade" goes
  on and on;
- for example, among the companies listed by the Timothy Plan of
  Family and Mutual Funds, the list includes such well-known companies as Aetna,
  Anheuser-Busch, Bristol-Meyers, Clear Channel, Coca Cola, General Electric,
  Johnson and Johnson, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Coors, PepsiCo, Prudential,
  Time-Warner, Viacom, ad nauseum, ad infinitum.
- Finally, as we just indicated, it is the rich who - unlike the poor
  - are able to translate the voyeurism in pornography into actual experiences,
  experiences that cost a lot of money; the kind of experiences that only the
  rich can afford;
- the kind of experiences that Craig Spence could make "come
  alive" in his lavish "power cocktail" parties and in his mansion filled with
  two way mirrors, hidden microphones and cameras;
- the kind of child abuse that
  people like George Bush I availed himself of -
- and not only Bush, but the
  "whip-and-leather" experience that Vice President Nelson Rockefeller availed
  himself of in his mansion in New York with Megan Marshak on the eve of his
  death at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 1979.
- NOTE: The first press reports
  of Rockefeller's death paid moving tribute to the hardworking
  GOP elder who had died at his desk while working on a book
  about modern art.
- Solemnly, Rockefeller family spokesman
  Hugh Morrow told reporters Rockefeller had suffered a heart
  attack at 10:15 Friday night in his office at 30 Rockefeller
  Plaza, and that a security aide, the only other person present,
  had tried to revive him and failed.
- The stricken man had
  been admitted to Lenox Hill Hospital at 11:15 p.m., he said,
  and widow Happy Rockefeller had arrived at 12:25 a.m., 10
  minutes too late.
- The following day, Morrow admitted he'd gotten one or two details wrong.
  Actually, Rockefeller had died at his 54th Street townhouse, he said.
- A
  chauffeur also had been there at the time. By now there were reports of
  a blonde - Megan Marshack - at Rockefeller's side when he died, and the
  press wanted to know about her.
- Well, yes, Morrow acknowledged, he had just
  learned that Nelson Rockefeller's young assistant also had been present
  when his heart gave out.
- But, as it turned out, it wasn't Marshack who had called 911 at all. That
  call had been made by TV personality Ponchitta Pierce, who lived in Marshack's
  building and who had departed the scene before cops arrived.
- Marshack was
  gone now too, visiting friends in the country.
- Morrow said he didn't know
  where. That story too collapsed when it was learned that the Associated
  Press had reached Marshack by phone four hours after Rockefeller's heart
  stopped beating, and that she'd told the AP that Morrow was with her.
- By now the questions were too
  large to contain. Why hadn't there been an autopsy? Why had Rockefeller
  been so quickly cremated? And who exactly was this Miss Marshack, anyway?
- Morrow clammed up altogether at this point.
- Manhattan District Attorney Robert Morgenthau made an "informal"
  inquiry into the events surrounding Rockefeller's death then declined to
  reveal what he'd turned up.
- Later in 1979, Mayor Edward Koch fired chief medical
  examiner Michael Baden after the M.E.'s office dropped hints that Nelson
  Rockefeller had died while having sex - and that the sex he was having at
  the time of his death was of a very kinky, "whip-and-leather" variety.
- "I don't want to get into questions like
  that," he said.
- This kind of sexual deviancy has always been "common" in the precincts
  of the rich - from the palaces of the Caesars, to Versailles in France, to
  the "great homes" of the aristocracy in England's countryside.
- But it's in
  the United States that this phenomenon has reached a crescendo never heard
  of before in the history of mankind, and that is especially true of "child
  abuse" and pedophilia.
- And one must bear in mind that - according to Dr. Judith Reisman
  - this kind of sexual deviancy "PERMANENTLY RESTRUCTURES THE BRAIN,
  mind, memory and conduct of those who fall victim to it," and "overrides cognition
  and causes dramatic changes in one's behavior that can lead to ... brutal sexual
  crimes;" the kind of crime that Dr. Layden says "... builds upon itself, driving
  the ... [victim] to seek more extreme [sexual] experiences" - experiences
  that ultimately lead to pedophilia.
- WHOSOEVER SHALL OFFEND
  
  ONE OF THESE CHILDREN ...
- It is here that those Christians who have allied themselves with
  the elites of the Republican Party would be well advised to take heed to Christ's
  warning in Matthew 18:6:
- "Whosoever shall offend one of these children ... it is better for him
  that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the
  depth of the sea." (Matthew 18:6)
- [And once again, we refer you to that
  list of some 59 names we listed above - names that represent only the tip
  of the iceberg insofar as what is really going on in the precincts of the
  rich.]
- The reference here to a millstone (see above) is very significant:
  it is with a millstone that Babylon the Great, the "Seat of Satan," will be
  judged:
  
  "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into
  the sea, saying, THUS WITH VIOLENCE SHALL THAT GREAT CITY BABYLON BE THROWN

  the elites in Washington was much more than the "run-of-the-mill"
  type of sexual deviancy that characterized other regimes of
  the rich and powerful in the past.

  abductions. Gunderson believes that as many as 50,000
  children are involved each year in such abductions,
  and - other than the 2,500 found dead after their abductions
  - THEY ARE NEVER FOUND AGAIN. The government likes to
  pretend that the abductors of these children are "dirty
  old men;" but the manner and permanence in which most
  have disappeared belies the fact that something much
  more sinister is "afoot." The efforts of "dirty old
  Men" simply cannot account for the "thoroughness" of
  what's happening.
- PRETENDING NOT TO BELIEVE
  
  IN THE SUPERNATURAL
- Naturally enough, most "average" Americans refuse to believe
  what's going on. They cling - at least on the surface - to the
  idea of a world where "official science" pretends NOT
  to believe in the supernatural: the world, so to speak, of Carl
  Sagan.
- A scientific and skeptical attitude towards the
  supernatural seemingly predominates. What cannot be seen, touched,
  and scientifically verified is cast off as superstition and
  the product of "old wives fables." The mere mention
  of the supernatural is often received with a smile of incredulous
  contempt.
- Reason and progress - these are supposedly the passwords
  of Modernity.
- However, it's all just a carefully orchestrated government
  PRETENSE; one designed to obscure what the government
  is really up to in laboratories throughout the country -
- AND
  VERY EXTREME MEASURES ARE BEING USED TO HIDE THIS PRETENSE
  - EVEN MURDER.
- BUT MURDER ...
- Murder! - that's pretty "heavy." Still, what Michael Parenti
  calls America's "government within a government" has been doing
  it for years now.
- The list of those who have been assassinated
  by America's "Rogue Government" is endless: JFK, RFK, Martin

- William
  Blum, a former analyst for the U.S. State Department, has made
  an extensive list of those government leaders and other "politicos"
  who have been "killed off" by the government in his book, Rogue
  State.
- The list includes hundreds and hundreds of well-known
  figures.
- Blum writes:
  
  "From 1945 to the end of the century, the United States
  attempted to overthrow more than 40 foreign governments [by
  assassinating their leaders], and to crush more than 30 populist-nationalist
  movements struggling against intolerable regimes. In the process,
  the US caused the end of life for several million people,
  and condemned millions more to a life of agony and despair."
- NOTE: In early
  2006, Blum briefly became the subject of widespread media
  attention when Osama bin Laden issued a public statement
  in which he quoted Blum and recommended that all Americans
  read Rogue State: A Guide to the World's Only Superpower.
- As a result of the mention sales of his book skyrocketed.
  Rogue State shot up from #205,763 to #26 on Amazon.com's
  index of the most-ordered books.
- In a May 22, 2006 article
  entitled, Come Out of the White House With Your Hands
  Up, Blum wrote,

- But the list of those the elites have "killed off"
  does not confine itself to these well-known cases.

  well beyond them to men and women of much less prominence, AND
  INDICATES HOW CAVALIERLY THE ELTES RESORT TO MURDER WHEN THEIR
  INTERESTS ARE CHALLENGED.

- There is, however, more, much more; for example there is the
  long-forgotten case of Hale Boggs and Nick Begich;
- Boggs was
  a member of the Warren Commission that had investigated the
  assassination of JFK; he had developed deep reservations regarding
  the findings of the Commission and had decided to go public
  with his misgivings. He was killed before he could do so.
- Then
  there are the cases of Paul Wellstone and Mel Carnahan, both

  Bari, David Ferrie, Rose Cheramie, Mary Meyer, Frank Olson,
  Malcolm X, James Rector, Fred Hampton, Walter Reuther, Allard

- That's pretty bad! - but the list of those who have been killed
  off because they had the temerity to investigate the government's
  involvement with ETs is even longer, and includes such people
  as Ann Livingston, Karla Turner, Troy Bonner, Gary Caradori

  Schellhorn is an English professor who retired from academic
  life to write and explore. He was born in Sparta, Wisconsin,

  degrees from the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and
  the University of Iowa and taught at the University of North
  Dakota, University of Iowa and South Suburban College, Cook
  County, Illinois.

  "Mysterious and suspicious deaths among UFO investigators
  arc nothing new.
- In 1971, the well-known author and researcher
  Otto Binder wrote an article for Saga Magazine's special
  UFO Report titled "Liquidation of the UFO Investigators:'
  Binder had researched the deaths of "no less than 137
  flying saucer researchers, writers, scientists, and witnesses'
  who had died in the previous 10 years, 'many under the most
  mysterious circumstances.'
- "The late astronomer Dr. M.K. Jessup was the first to reveal
  details of the Philadelphia Experiment-he died a few months
  later.
- "The selected cases Binder offered were loaded with a plethora
  of alleged heart attacks, suspicious cancers and what appears
  to be outright examples of murder.

  at more recent evidence of highly suspect deaths among present

  "How do we explain the rash of heart attacks that took so

  Adamski?
- How do we correlate accurately the large number of
  purported suicides, including: Rev. Della Larson, contactee,
  author Gloria Lee (Byrd), Marie Ford, UFO enthusiast who discovered
  Larson's body, researcher Doug Hancock, and, more recently,
  researcher Feron Hicks?
- What do we do with the inordinately
  large number of cancer deaths which pepper the UFO field and
  burn doubtful holes in our credulity: Canadian researcher
  Wilbert B. Smith, Brazilian researcher Dr. Olavo Fontes, Jim
  and Coral Lorenzen, and the deaths of biologist Ivan Sanderson
  and CUFOS founder James A. Hynek.
- "UFOlogy is not the safe, hobbyistic pastime some would like
  it to be. There is danger, real danger in sticking your nose
  in places where the powers that be don't want you to be. The
  deaths listed above are highly suspicious. Most appear to
  be outright murder."
- The
  headlines (left) read "homosexual ring;" but that's
  not true: It was a pedophile ring. Gary Caradori (left),
  an investigator for the Nebraska State Senate Committee
  was killed in connection with this case. Just before
  he was murdered, Caradori called committee chairman
  Loran Schmit, and said, 'I got … [the proof] Loran.
  We've got 'em by the balls." That evening, Caradori
  caught a plane out of Chicago to Omaha. He was on his
  way back from the All Star game in Chicago with his
  son, but the plane came apart in the air (in other words,
  it blew up) and crashed. The NTSB refused to issue a
  ruling on the cause of the crash. While he had been
  in Chicago, Caradori had been working on leads he had
  developed in the Franklin case - leads that he told
  Loran "ran from Offutt Air Force Base to the White House."
  Gary's briefcase and papers were inexplicably missing
  from the crash site, along with the two rear seats of
  the plane.
- MURDER OOZES OUT OF EVERY
  
  PORE OF THE U.S. GOVERNMENT
- The
  fact of the matter is, murder oozes out of every pour of the
  U.S. government today - or at least that part of the government
  that Parenti has labeled "a government within a government"
  (see above) -
- and that is so much the case that Pulitzer Prize-winning
  Journalist Seymour Hersh, speaking at the University of Minnesota
  recently spoke of what he calls an on-going DOMESTIC
  "executive assassination ring" run by the CIA.
- Hersh went on to say:
  
  "The Central Intelligence Agency has been very deeply involved
  in DOMESTIC activities [involving murder] against people
  they thought to be enemies of the state."
- The callous nature in which the CIA conducts its business of
  murder is revealed in one horrible instance that occurred in
  August of 1987 in a rural community just south of Little Rock.
- There CIA officers murdered two teenage boys [Kevin Ives and
  Don Henry] because they witnessed a CIA-protected drug drop.
- The drop was part of a drug smuggling operation based at a small
  airport in Mena, Arkansas.
- The Mena drug operation was a part
  of the Iran-Contra/pedophile "goings-on" that James Flannery,
  Gary Webb, Gary Caradori, John DeCamp and others were investigating
  - investigations that led to the murders of both Webb and Caradori.
- THINK ABOUT THAT - THE MURDER OF CHILDREN IN THE INTEREST
  OF AMERICA'S "ROGUE GOVERNMENT." The instance is related
  in Mara Leveritt's book. The Boys on the Track.
- AND SO, ONCE AGAIN ...
- And so, once again we are brought back to the words of Christ
  
  "As it was in the days of Noe [Noah], so shall it be also
  in the days of the [coming of the] Son of man." (Luke 17:26)
- The gap between the "Spirit World" and the "World of Man" is
  being bridged - and it's being done NOT by black-robbed
  Satan worshippers in gothic-like buildings, but by scientists
  in some of America's most prestigious universities - scientists
  funded by the CIA, the military and elements of the American
  business community -
- THE EXACT SAME PEOPLE WITH WHOM THE
  CHURCH HAS MADE "COMMON CAUSE" IN "RETURNING THE UNITED STATES
  TO CHRIST AND THE CHURCH."

  the eruption of these evil entities is occurring in the United
  States, and it is polluting our country BEYOND REMEDY!
- It's not with reason that the Lord has warned us to -

  of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Revelation
  18:4)

- It's not without reason that the Lord has declared Babylon
  (i.e., the United States) to be -
  
  "... the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul
  spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird [i.e.,

- It seems here - precisely here - that Christians stumble; even
  most of my erstwhile friends, co-workers who have been with
  me for years. They believe that they can defy the command of
  God, and that He will still be with them when the going gets
  really tough; that they will go when "the Spirit moves them"
  - as if the Spirit of God would act in contradiction to the
  Word of God.
- My good friend, Constance Cumbey once told me a story about
  idiots like these; she said:
- It's like a married man -
  a Christian - in an office who sees a beautiful female co-worker
  across the room and wants "to get to know her." A mistake!
  Nonetheless, he begins to "find himself" at the drinking fountain
  when she is there; then the "coffee room" - and all the time
  that small voice in his "inner being" is whispering in his
  ear, "Don't do it!"
- "Steve, people over-estimate their ability to resist evil;
  they push the envelope too far.
- But that would be prudish! He can restrain
  himself; he's an adult; he's a Christian who has control of
  his feelings. "I can stop when I have to." From there they
  begin to have lunch together - and what's wrong with that?
  - just being pleasant. Finally, they begin to "work late"
  on "office projects" - and after they finish, they go out
  to have a bite to eat - still, that small voice in his "inner
  being" is saying, "Don't do it; stop before it's too late."
  Still, nothing "bad" has happened yet - and he tells himself
  once again that he can stop any time he wants to. Inevitably
  they end up naked and in bed with each other in a hotel room
  - AND HE THINKS HE CAN STOP THEN? - HARDLY!"
  If he couldn't stop at the drinking fountain, OR
  at the coffee room, OR at the lunch table, OR
  before going out to dinner with her, what makes him think
  he can stop when he is lying naked in bed with her? - STUPID
  MAN!"
- So
  also with all those who say they can defy God insofar as His
  COMMAND in Revelation 18:4 is concerned; who say
  they will go "when the time comes." STUPID MEN!
  It's NOT without reason that the Lord said:
- And as were the days of Noah, so shall be the coming of the
  Son of man.
  
  For as in those days which were before the flood they were
  eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until
  the day that Noah entered into the ark,
  
  "And they knew not until the flood came, and took them all
  away; so shall be the coming of the Son of man." (Matthew
  24:37-39)
- There are those, of course, who say, "We are Christians." To
  those, I would simply say what Jesus said to the Jews so many
  years ago:
  
  "Think not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our
  father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones
  to raise up children unto Abraham." (Matthew 3:9)

- NOTE: It's interesting to note here that Hersh
  also confirmed the presence of Israelis in "Task Force 121"
  - indicating the continuing toady-like relationship that Israel
  has with the United States;

  "According to American and Israeli military and
  intelligence officials, Israeli commandos and intelligence
  units have been working closely with their American counterparts.
- Moreover, Israeli commandos are expected to serve alongside
  the Americans when full-field operations begin.
- The U.S.
  high command denies Israeli involvement and an Israeli
  official told Hersh: 'Both governments have decided at
  the highest level that it is in their interest to keep
  a low profile on U.S.-Israeli cooperation'."
- GOD'S WAR WARRIOR: LT. GEN. WILLIAM BOYKIN
- Richard Cooper of the Los Angeles Times reports on the
  "Christian mindset" of the Joint Special Operations Command; he
  points out that it is plainly visible in its commander, Lt. Gen.
  William Boykin.
- Boykin is a much-decorated and twice-wounded
  veteran of covert military operations. From the bloody 1993
  clash with Muslim warlords in Somalia chronicled in "Black
  Hawk Down" and the hunt for Colombian drug czar Pablo Escobar
  to the ill-fated attempt to rescue American hostages in Iran
  in 1980, Boykin has been in the thick of things.
- Boykin, a member of the super-secret "Delta Force" (a group
  that the intelligence agencies refuse to acknowledge one way
  or another) is an outspoken evangelical Christian who appeared
  in dress uniform and polished jump boots before a religious
  group in Oregon two years ago in June to declare that radical
  Islamists hated the United States -
- "... because we're a Christian nation, because our foundation
  and our roots are Judeo-Christian ... and the enemy is a guy
  named Satan."
- Discussing the battle against a Muslim warlord in Somalia,
  Boykin told another audience,
  
  "I knew my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God
  was a real God and his was an idol."
  
  He went on to say:
  
  "We in the army of God, in the house of God, kingdom
  of God have been raised for such a time as this," Boykin
  said last year.
- [Now you must
  understand something here; no doubt Boykin is a Christian,
  and no doubt he is sincere; but how does one square
  the kind of thinking and life-style that he has engaged
  in with God's command in Luke 6:27-29 "But I say unto
  you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which
  hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them
  which despitefully use you. And unto him that smiteth
  thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and
  him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take
  thy coat also." It is, of course, IMPOSSIBLE!
- THE "CHRISTIAN" ROOTS OF AMERICA'S
  
  INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY
- Boykin's
  mentor in the intelligence community was Colonel Joseph A. McChristian,
  a "holy figure" in the annals of American intelligence.
- Like
  Boykin, McChristian was a TRUE BELIEVER.
- As special assistant to the Joint U.S. Military Advisory Group
  in Greece from 1949 to 1950 (which coincided with the end of
  the Greek Civil War), he had seen that Protestant Bibles were
  distributed to every Greek soldier fighting the communists.
- McChristian understood the value of religion in America's war
  against communism.
- McChristian believed that if soldiers could
  be made to think that they were "fighting for God,"
  they would be that much more imbued with a "fighting spirit,"
  and that much more confident in what they were doing when called
  upon to engage in the dirtier, more sordid side of counterinsurgency
  activity.
- After all, not everyone is a sadist and a pathological
  killer, especially insofar as conscript armies are concerned.
- It's difficult to kill, and if the killers can be convinced
  that what they are doing is "KILLING DEMONS"
  in the name of God rather than killing innocent human beings,
  it makes the job that much easier. It eases the conscience when
  one is alone at night.
- McChristian introduced this kind of thinking wherever he went.
  He believed in it!
- o McChristian, spreading the Gospel was synonymous with spreading
  the American "free enterprise" system and expanding
  the financial interests of people like the Rockefellers, the Milbanks,
  the Swifts and the Morgans.
- It's no accident or flight of fancy,
  therefore, when peasants - in describing the activities of death
  squads throughout Latin America - inevitably tell stories of death
  squad members praising God, singing hymns, and "speaking
  in tongues" as they go about their gruesome business of butchering
  people.
- This is what McChristian and people like him believe!
  - and this is precisely what makes it possible for death squad
  members to also be "members in good standing" in countless
  numbers of Protestant evangelical groups throughout Latin America.
- This is why - in following Oliver North and members of his entourage
  around the Contra-training camps in the 1980s - one reporter could
  describe it as if he had been following a traveling revival.
- LIMONOCHA
- When, in April 1962, McChristian arrived at Limonocha, Ecuador
  (the base camp for the Wycliffe Bible Translators), to fight
  the demons that were arrayed against the American imperial system,
  he arrived with the silver leaf of an American Green Beret Lieutenant
  Colonel.
- Actually, that was just a cover; he was in fact a major-general
  working in army intelligence as chief of the Western Hemisphere
  Division.
- His counterpart in the CIA was Colonel J.C. King who
  was intimately associated with the Wycliffe Bible Translators.
- King had gotten Wycliffe heavily involved in the overthrow of
  the Arbenz government in Guatemala, which - like Goulert's government
  in Brazil - had threatened to nationalize various American business
  enterprises there in the early 1950s,
- and which had cost the
  lives of thousands and thousands of peasants, many of whom had
  been converted to Protestant Christianity through the efforts
  of Wycliffe.
- It seems that in instance after
  instance when "push came to shove" and the interests
  of the Gospel clashed with the interests of Wycliffe's business
  backers, the business backers won out.

  WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATOR'S (SIL)
  BASE
  
  CAMP IN ECUADOR USED BY THE CIA
- McChristian was only forty-seven years old when he made Wycliffe's
  Limonocha jungle base the unofficial headquarters for his counterinsurgency
  activities in the Amazon basin; but there was no mistaking his
  mastery of the techniques of counterinsurgency.
- Moreover, he
  was well connected to conservative networks, being the son-in-law
  of General A. Van Fleet, who had recently violated military
  law by publicly challenging President Kennedy's handling of
  the Bay of Pigs.
- Van Fleet was then a top counterinsurgency
  consultant to Kennedy's army secretary on guerrilla warfare
  -
- and there are many who believe that Van Fleet was involved
  in some way in the Kennedy assassination.
- BENDING THE RULES FOR CHRIST
- So convinced of his own righteousness and the righteousness of
  the cause he served, and so sure that in battling for the "American
  free enterprise" system in Latin America, he was helping
  to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ,
- McChristian was not above
  helping things along for the "Lord's side" by bending
  the rules a little in its advancement.
- For example, when the government
  of President Carlos Julio Arosemena of Ecuador began making moves
  which McChristian believed would lead Arosemena down the same
  road Goulert had taken in Brazil and Arbenz had taken in Guatemala,
  he swung CIA assets in the country against Arosemena and provoked
  a rebellion at the CIA advised Cuenca garrison.
- When, in answer
  to this rebellion, a group of young intellectuals in Quito associated
  with the University of Ecuador began training to defend Arosemena,
  McChristian sought to link the students to the local Communist
  Party.
- He turned Quito upside down looking for evidence, and finding
  none, he doctored interrogation reports to the Ecuadorian military
  that falsely linked the students to the Communist Party.
- Most
  of the students were shot, and Arosemena was so frightened by
  what had happened that he quickly caved.
- In doing so, Arosemena
  gave into a CIA demand that he launch a "civic action program"
  (utilizing death squads) - the first of its kind in America
  - which combined $1.5 million in U.S. military assistance with
  another $500,000 in AID funds for public works projects.
- McChristian
  took this concept to Vietnam later in the decade and turned
  it into the Phoenix Program.
- In 1969, Phoenix was re-introduced
  into Latin America as a fully developed counterinsurgency program
  - AND THIS IS PRECISELY THE LINK BETWEEN THE DEATH SQUADS
  IN LATIN AMERICA AND THE EVANGELICAL "CHRISTIAN" COMMUNITY!!
- A STAGGERING THOUGHT
- THINK ABOUT IT!! THE THOUGHT IS STAGGERING! THE CONCEPT
  OF THE DEATH SQUAD WAS DEVELOPED BY A MAN WHO OPENLY PROFESSED
  CHRISTIANITY THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE AND WAS CLOSELY LINKED TO THE
  WYCLIFFE BIBLE TRANSLATORS.
- And people call this Christianity?
  God help all of us, for if this is so, we have all surely lost
  our way.
- The Wycliffe Bible Translators, however, thought otherwise.
  Wycliffe's Donald Johnson said that McChristian was "...
  one of the most impressive officers that I have ever met. If
  all of our top commanders and diplomats were of his caliber,
  we could be proud and there would not be any 'ugly Americans'."
- McChristian's approach to counterinsurgency utilizing Wycliffe
  was enthusiastically embraced by everyone at Wycliffe.
- Wycliffe's
  Jerry Elder even sent Cam Townsend, the head of Wycliffe, a
  clipping from Lima's La Prensa that reported on a conference
  between Ecuadorian and Peruvian army commanders on the border.
- Writing from Limonocha, Elder wrote:
  
  "The high point was the fact that they should unite
  to fight the common enemy, Communism ... I think this is particularly
  significant in light of the fact that one of the reasons that
  Commander Melger (CIA) went out there was to give a report
  to the military on the possibility of our (i.e., Wycliffe)
  doing espionage along the border."
- THE IMPLICATIONS HERE ARE CLEAR ...
- The intimate, the long-lasting involvement of people like Boykin,
  McChristian and innumerable Christian missionaries in America's
  BLOODY effort to expand the limits of the American New
  World Order System stinks to high heaven.
- indicates the casual nature
  of America's resort to political assassination and murder to
  silence its opponents outside the borders of the United States
- - AND FOR AMERICANS TO BELIEVE THAT THIS WICKED PROCLIVITY

- In defense (so to speak) of those Christians who have involved
  themselves in these crimes, it must be admitted that the COMPULSION
  that propels these men to their evil deeds is exceedingly forceful.
  It has to be!
- Again, it isn't without reason that Solzhenitsyn
  wrote:
  
  "To do evil a human being must first of all believe
  that what he's doing is good ... instead of bad in his own
  and others' eyes, so that he won't hear reproaches and curses
  but will receive praise and honors."
- It, therefore, has to be concluded that the DECEPTION
  that is driving this COMPULSION and that has made these
  men and women mad (crazy) is a powerful one - AND THAT IS
  EXACTLY WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS.

  MAYBE EVERYONE ELSE CAN, BUT NOT YOU!
- Jesus said that in the "Last Days" a great deception will take
  hold of Christendom; specifically, he said:

  shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it
  were possible, they shall DECEIVE the very
  elect.
  
  "Behold, I have told you before." (Matthew 24:23-25)

Off and on, Black and Richer’s onetime partner Ric Prado, first with the C.I.A., then as a Blackwater employee, worked quietly with Prince as his vice president of “special programs” to provide the agency with what every intelligence service wants: plausible deniability.

- “They say the program didn’t move forward because [they] didn’t have the right skill set or because of inadequate cover. That’s untrue.
- [The operation continued] for a very long time in some places without ever being discovered. This program died because of a lack of political will.”
- When Prado left the C.I.A., in 2004, he effectively took the program with him, after a short hiatus.
- By that point, according to sources familiar with the plan, Prince was already an agency asset, and the pair had begun working to privatize matters by changing the team’s composition from blue-badgers to a combination of “green-badgers” (C.I.A. contractors) and third-country nationals (unaware of the C.I.A. connection).
- Blackwater officials insist that company resources and manpower were never directly utilized—these were supposedly off-the-books initiatives done on Prince’s own dime, for which he was later reimbursed—
- and that despite their close ties to the C.I.A. neither Cofer Black nor Rob Richer took part.
- As Prince puts it, “We were building a unilateral, unattributable capability. If it went bad, we weren’t expecting the chief of station, the ambassador, or anyone to bail us out.”
- He insists that, had the team deployed, the agency would have had full operational control.
- Instead, due to what he calls “institutional osteoporosis,” the second iteration of the assassination program lost steam.
- Sometime after 2006, the C.I.A. would take another shot at the program, according to an insider who was familiar with the plan.
- “Everyone found some reason not to participate,” says the insider. “There was a sick-out. People would say to management, ‘I have a family, I have other obligations.’
- This is the fucking C.I.A. They were supposed to lead the charge after al-Qaeda and they couldn’t find the people to do it.”
- Others with knowledge of the program are far more charitable and question why any right-thinking officer would sign up for an assassination program at a time when their colleagues—who had thought they had legal cover to engage in another sensitive effort, the “enhanced interrogations” program at secret C.I.A. sites in foreign countries—were finding themselves in legal limbo.
- America and Erik Prince, it seems, have been slow to extract themselves from the assassination business.
- Beyond the killer drones flown with Blackwater’s help along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border
- (President Obama has reportedly authorized more than three dozen such hits),
- Prince claims he and a team of foreign nationals helped find and fix a target in October 2008, then left the finishing to others.
- “In Syria,” he says, “we did the signals intelligence to geo-locate the bad guys in a very denied area.”
- Subsequently, a U.S. Special Forces team launched a helicopter-borne assault to hunt down al-Qaeda middleman Abu Ghadiyah.
- Ghadiyah, whose real name is Badran Turki Hishan Al-Mazidih, was said to have been killed along with six others—though doubts have emerged about whether Ghadiyah was even there that day, as detailed in a recent Vanity Fair Web story by Reese Ehrlich and Peter Coyote.
- And up until two months ago—when Prince says the Obama administration pulled the plug—he was still deeply engaged in the dark arts.
- According to insiders, he was running intelligence-gathering operations from a secret location in the United States, remotely coordinating the movements of spies working undercover in one of the so-called Axis of Evil countries. Their mission: non-disclosable.
- Exit Strategy
- Flying out of Kabul, Prince does a slow burn, returning to the topic of how exposed he has felt since press accounts revealed his role in the assassination program.
- The firestorm that began in August has continued to smolder and may indeed have his handlers wondering whether Prince himself is more of a liability than an asset.
- He says he can’t understand why they would shut down certain high-risk, high-payoff collection efforts against some of America’s most implacable enemies for fear that his involvement could, given the political climate, result in their compromise.
- He is incredulous that U.S. officials seem willing, in effect, to cut off their nose to spite their face.
- “I’ve been overtly and covertly serving America since I started in the armed services,” Prince observes.
- After 12 years building the company, he says he intends to turn it over to its employees and a board, and exit defense contracting altogether.
- An internal power struggle is said to be under way among those seeking to define the direction and underlying mission of a post-Prince Blackwater.
- He insists, simply, “I’m through.”
- In the past, Prince has entertained the idea of building a pre-positioning ship—complete with security personnel, doctors, helicopters, medicine, food, and fuel—and stationing it off the coast of Africa to provide “relief with teeth” to the continent’s trouble spots or to curb piracy off Somalia.
- At one point, he considered creating a rapidly deployable brigade that could be farmed out, for a fee, to a foreign government.
- For the time being, however, Prince contends that his plans are far more modest. “I’m going to teach high school,” he says, straight-faced. “History and economics. I may even coach wrestling. Hey, Indiana Jones taught school, too.”

- Last June, C.I.A. director Leon Panetta met in a closed session with the House and Senate intelligence committees to brief them on a covert-action program, which the agency had long concealed from Congress.
- Panetta explained that he had learned of the existence of the operation only the day before and had promptly shut it down.
- The reason, C.I.A. spokesman Paul Gimigliano now explains: “It hadn’t taken any terrorists off the street.”
- During the meeting, according to two attendees, Panetta named both Erik Prince and Blackwater as key participants in the program.
- (When asked to verify this account, Gimigliano notes that “Director Panetta treats as confidential discussions with Congress that take place behind closed doors.”)
- Soon thereafter, Prince says, he began fielding inquisitive calls from people he characterizes as far outside the circle of trust.
- It took three weeks for details, however sketchy, to surface.
- In July, The Wall Street Journal described the program as “an attempt to carry out a 2001 presidential authorization to capture or kill al Qaeda operatives.”
- The agency reportedly planned to accomplish this task by dispatching small hit teams overseas.
- Lawmakers, who couldn’t exactly quibble with the mission’s objective, were in high dudgeon over having been kept in the dark.
- (Former C.I.A. officials reportedly saw the matter differently, characterizing the program as “more aspirational than operational” and implying that it had never progressed far enough to justify briefing the Hill.)
- On August 20, the gloves came off.
- The New York Times published a story headlined cia sought blackwater’s help to kill jihadists. The Washington Post concurred: cia hired firm for assassin program.
- Prince confesses to feeling betrayed. “I don’t understand how a program this sensitive leaks,” he says. “And to ‘out’ me on top of it?”
- The next day, the Times went further, revealing Blackwater’s role in the use of aerial drones to kill al-Qaeda and Taliban leaders:
- “At hidden bases in Pakistan and Afghanistan … the company’s contractors assemble and load Hellfire missiles and 500-pound laser-guided bombs on remotely piloted Predator aircraft, work previously performed by employees of the Central Intelligence Agency.”
- Erik Prince, almost overnight, had undergone a second rebranding of sorts, this one not of his own making.
- The war profiteer had become a merchant of death, with a license to kill on the ground and in the air.
- “I’m an easy target,” he says. “I’m from a Republican family and I own this company outright. Our competitors have nameless, faceless management teams.”
- Prince blames Democrats in Congress for the leaks and maintains that there is a double standard at play.
- “The left complained about how [C.I.A. operative] Valerie Plame’s identity was compromised for political reasons. A special prosecutor [was even] appointed. Well, what happened to me was worse. People acting for political reasons disclosed not only the existence of a very sensitive program but my name along with it.”
- As in the Plame case, though, the leaks prompted C.I.A. attorneys to send a referral to the Justice Department, requesting that a criminal investigation be undertaken to identify those responsible for providing highly classified information to the media.
- By focusing so intently on Blackwater, Congress and the press overlooked the elephant in the room.
- Prince wasn’t merely a contractor; he was, insiders say, a full-blown asset.
- Three sources with direct knowledge of the relationship say that the C.I.A.’s National Resources Division recruited Prince in 2004 to join a secret network of American citizens with special skills or unusual access to targets of interest.
- As assets go, Prince would have been quite a catch. He had more cash, transport, matériel, and personnel at his disposal than almost anyone Langley would have run in its 62-year history.
- The C.I.A. won’t comment further on such assertions, but Prince himself is slightly more forthcoming.
- “I was looking at creating a small, focused capability,” he says, “just like Donovan did years ago”—the reference being to William “Wild Bill” Donovan, who, in World War II, served as the head of the Office of Strategic Services, the precursor of the modern C.I.A.
- (Prince’s youngest son, Charles Donovan—the one who fell into the pool—is named after Wild Bill.)
- Two sources familiar with the arrangement say that Prince’s handlers obtained provisional operational approval from senior management to recruit Prince and later generated a “201 file,” which would have put him on the agency’s books as a vetted asset.
- It’s not at all clear who was running whom, since Prince says that, unlike many other assets, he did much of his work on spec, claiming to have used personal funds to road-test the viability of certain operations.
- “I grew up around the auto industry,” Prince explains. “Customers would say to my dad, ‘We have this need.’ He would then use his own money to create prototypes to fulfill those needs. He took the ‘If you build it, they will come’ approach.”
- According to two sources familiar with his work, Prince was developing unconventional means of penetrating “hard target” countries—where the C.I.A. has great difficulty working either because there are no stations from which to operate or because local intelligence services have the wherewithal to frustrate the agency’s designs.
- “I made no money whatsoever off this work,” Prince contends.
- “I’m painted as this war profiteer by Congress. Meanwhile I’m paying for all sorts of intelligence activities to support American national security, out of my own pocket.”
- He is unwilling to specify the exact nature of his forays.
- (His pocket is deep: according to The Wall Street Journal, Blackwater had revenues of more than $600 million in 2008.)
- Clutch Cargo
- The Afghan countryside, from a speeding perch at 200 knots, whizzes by in a khaki haze. The terrain is rendered all the more nondescript by the fact that Erik Prince is riding less than 200 feet above it.
- The back of the airplane, a small, Spanish-built eads casa C-212, is open, revealing Prince in silhouette against a blue sky. Wearing Oakleys, tactical pants, and a white polo shirt, he looks strikingly boyish.
- As the crew chief initiates a countdown sequence, Prince adjusts his harness and moves into position. When the “go” order comes, a young G.I. beside him cuts a tether, and Prince pushes a pallet out the tail chute. Black parachutes deploy and the aircraft lunges forward from the sudden weight differential. The cargo—provisions and munitions—drops inside the perimeter of a forward operating base (fob) belonging to an elite Special Forces squad.

- Five days a week, Blackwater’s aviation arm—with its unabashedly 60s-spook name, Presidential Airways—flies low-altitude sorties to some of the most remote outposts in Afghanistan.
- Since 2006, Prince’s company has been conscripted to offer this “turnkey” service for U.S. troops, flying thousands of delivery runs.
- Blackwater also provides security for U.S. ambassador Karl Eikenberry and his staff, and trains narcotics and Afghan special police units.
- Once back on terra firma, Prince, a BlackBerry on one hip and a 9-mm. on the other, does a sweep around one of Blackwater’s bases in northeast Afghanistan, pointing out buildings recently hit by mortar fire.
- As a drone circles overhead, its camera presumably trained on the surroundings, Prince climbs a guard tower and peers down at a spot where two of his contractors were nearly killed last July by an improvised explosive device.
- “Not counting civilian checkpoints,” he says, “this is the closest base to the [Pakistani] border.”
- His voice takes on a melodramatic solemnity. “Who else has built a fob along the main infiltration route for the Taliban and the last known location for Osama bin Laden?”
- Going “Low-Pro”
- At the time, the C.I.A.’s executive director, A. B. “Buzzy” Krongard, responding to his operatives’ complaints of being “worried sick about the Afghans’ coming over the fence or opening the doors,” enlisted the company to offer protection for the agency’s Kabul station.
- Blackwater has been in Afghanistan since 2002.
- Going “low-pro,” or low-profile, paid off: not a single C.I.A. employee, according to sources close to the company, died in Afghanistan while under Blackwater’s protection.
- (Talk about a tight-knit bunch. Krongard would later serve as an unpaid adviser to Blackwater’s board, until 2007.
- And his brother Howard “Cookie” Krongard—the State Department’s inspector general—had to recuse himself from Blackwater-related oversight matters after his brother’s involvement with the company surfaced. Buzzy, in response, stepped down.)
- As the agency’s confidence in Blackwater grew, so did the company’s responsibilities, expanding from static protection to mobile security—shadowing agency personnel, ever wary of suicide bombers, ambushes, and roadside devices, as they moved about the country.
- By 2005, Blackwater, accustomed to guarding C.I.A. personnel, was starting to look a little bit like the C.I.A. itself.
- Enrique “Ric” Prado joined Blackwater after serving as chief of operations for the agency’s Counterterrorism Center (CTC).
- A short time later, Prado’s boss, J. Cofer Black, the head of the CTC, moved over to Blackwater, too.
- He was followed, in turn, by his superior, Rob Richer, second-in-command of the C.I.A.’s clandestine service.
- Of the three, Cofer Black had the outsize reputation.
- As Bob Woodward recounted in his book Bush at War, on September 13, 2001,
- Black had promised President Bush that when the C.I.A. was through with al-Qaeda “they will have flies walking across their eyeballs.”
- According to Woodward, “Black became known in Bush’s inner circle as the ‘flies-on-the-eyeballs guy.’”
- Richer and Black soon helped start a new company, Total Intelligence Solutions (which collects data to help businesses assess risks overseas), but in 2008 both men left Blackwater, as did company president Gary Jackson this year.

- Iput myself and my company at the C.I.A.’s disposal for some very risky missions,” says Erik Prince as he surveys his heavily fortified, 7,000-acre compound in rural Moyock, North Carolina.
- “But when it became politically expedient to do so, someone threw me under the bus.”
- Prince—the founder of Blackwater, the world’s most notorious private military contractor—is royally steamed. He wants to vent. And he wants you to hear him vent.
- Erik Prince has an image problem—the kind that’s impervious to a Madison Avenue makeover.
- The 40-year-old heir to a Michigan auto-parts fortune, and a former navy seal, he has had the distinction of being vilified recently both in life and in art.
- In Washington, Prince has become a scapegoat for some of the Bush administration’s misadventures in Iraq—though Blackwater’s own deeds have also come in for withering criticism.
- Congressmen and lawyers, human-rights groups and pundits, have described Prince as a war profiteer, one who has assembled a rogue fighting force capable of toppling governments. His employees have been repeatedly accused of using excessive, even deadly force in Iraq; many Iraqis, in fact, have died during encounters with Blackwater.
- And in November, as a North Carolina grand jury was considering a raft of charges against the company, as a half-dozen civil suits were brewing in Virginia,
- and as five former Blackwater staffers were preparing for trial for their roles in the deaths of 17 Iraqis, The New York Times reported in a page-one story that Prince’s firm, in the aftermath of the tragedy, had sought to bribe Iraqi officials for their compliance, charges which Prince calls “lies … undocumented, unsubstantiated [and] anonymous.”
- (So infamous is the Blackwater brand that even the Taliban have floated far-fetched conspiracy theories, accusing the company of engaging in suicide bombings in Pakistan.)
- In Hollywood, meanwhile, a town that loves nothing so much as a good villain, Prince, with his blond crop and Daniel Craig mien, has become the screenwriters’ darling.
- In the film State of Play, a Blackwater clone (PointCorp.) uses its network of mercenaries for illegal surveillance and murder.
- On the Fox series 24, Jon Voight has played Jonas Hodges, a thinly veiled version of Prince, whose company (Starkwood) helps an African warlord procure nerve gas for use against U.S. targets.
- But the truth about Prince may be orders of magnitude stranger than fiction.
- For the past six years, he appears to have led an astonishing double life. Publicly, he has served as Blackwater’s C.E.O. and chairman. Privately, and secretly, he has been doing the C.I.A.’s bidding, helping to craft, fund, and execute operations ranging from inserting personnel into “denied areas”—places U.S. intelligence has trouble penetrating—to assembling hit teams targeting al-Qaeda members and their allies.
- Prince, according to sources with knowledge of his activities, has been working as a C.I.A. asset: in a word, as a spy.
- While his company was busy gleaning more than $1.5 billion in government contracts between 2001 and 2009—by acting, among other things, as an overseas Praetorian guard for C.I.A. and State Department officials—Prince became a Mr. Fix-It in the war on terror.
- His access to paramilitary forces, weapons, and aircraft, and his indefatigable ambition—the very attributes that have galvanized his critics—also made him extremely valuable, some say, to U.S. intelligence.
- But Prince, with a new administration in power, and foes closing in, is finally coming in from the cold.
- This past fall, though he infrequently grants interviews, he decided it was time to tell his side of the story—to respond to the array of accusations,
- to reveal exactly what he has been doing in the shadows of the U.S. government, and to present his rationale. He also hoped to convey why he’s going to walk away from it all.
- To that end, he invited Vanity Fair to his training camp in North Carolina, to his Virginia offices, and to his Afghan outposts. It seemed like a propitious time to tag along.
- Split Personality
- Erik Prince can be a difficult man to wrap your mind around—an amalgam of contradictory caricatures.
- He has been branded a “Christian supremacist” who sanctions the murder of Iraqi civilians, yet he has built mosques at his overseas bases and supports a Muslim orphanage in Afghanistan.
- He and his family have long backed conservative causes, funded right-wing political candidates, and befriended evangelicals,
- but he calls himself a libertarian and is a practicing Roman Catholic.
- Sometimes considered arrogant and reclusive—Howard Hughes without the O.C.D.—he nonetheless enters competitions that combine mountain-biking, beach running, ocean kayaking, and rappelling.
- The common denominator is a relentless intensity that seems to have no Off switch.
- Seated in the back of a Boeing 777 en route to Afghanistan, Prince leafs through Defense News
- (The father of seven, Prince remarried after his first wife died of cancer in 2003.)
- You can’t escape the impression that Prince sees himself as somehow destined, his mission anointed
- It comes out even in the most personal of stories. During the flight, he tells of being in Kabul in September 2008 and receiving a two a.m. call from his wife, Joanna. Prince’s son Charlie, one year old at the time, had fallen into the family swimming pool.
- Charlie’s brother Christian, then 12, pulled him out of the water, purple and motionless, and successfully performed CPR. Christian and three siblings, it turns out, had recently received Red Cross certification at the Blackwater training camp.
- But there are intimations of a higher power at work as the story continues.
- Desperate to get home, Prince scrapped one itinerary, which called for a stay-over at the Marriott in Islamabad, and found a direct flight.
- That night, at the time Prince would have been checking in, terrorists struck the hotel with a truck bomb, killing more than 50.
- Prince says simply, “Christian saved Charlie’s life and Charlie saved mine.”
- At times, his sense of his own place in history can border on the evangelical.
- When pressed about suggestions that he’s a mercenary—a term he loathes—he rattles off the names of other freelance military figures, even citing Lafayette, the colonists’ ally during the Revolutionary War.
- Prince’s default mode is one of readiness. He is clenched-jawed and tightly wound.
- Waiting in the security line at Dulles airport just hours before, Prince had delivered a little homily: “Every time an American goes through security, I want them to pause for a moment and think, What is my government doing to inconvenience the terrorists? Rendition teams, Predator drones, assassination squads. That’s all part of it.”
- Such brazenness is not lost on a listener, nor is the fact that Prince himself is quite familiar with some of these tactics.
- In fact Prince, like other contractors, has drawn fire for running a company that some call a “body shop”—many of its staffers having departed military or intelligence posts to take similar jobs at much higher salaries, paid mainly by Uncle Sam.

- When they broadcasted their intentions for their documentary on the Alex Jones Radio show - which he hosted from Austin, Texas and NOT Istanbul that year - all the world, including the military intelligence protecting Bilderberg learned about them.
- After this, their documentary quite conveniently became another propaganda device for the Alex Jones camp, to the effect that most people who watch it now believe it's another one of his movies.
- I've even read reviews where people assumed they took most of their footage from Alex's documentary Endgame, which is preposterous.

- Richard Thomas: One of the topics I deliberately didn't ask you about was UFOs or Unidentified Flying Objects. I mention what the often misused initials stand for because I understand you're pretty sceptical about the Extraterrestrial hypothesis which has become synonymous with the abbreviation.
- I suppose my question is what do you think UFOs could represent and perhaps more importantly why?
- Timucin Leflef: I'm sceptical about the extraterrestrial hypothesis because I know that "fear of the unknown" is a great way of motivating the masses into giving up their personal freedoms for increased security.
- If people are lead to believe they're being invaded by "aliens", that their own governments are powerless to defend them and that the only answer is to join a U.N.-backed global military dictatorship, then they will willingly relinquish their national sovereignty, personal freedoms and property for an alleged "greater good", especially if they believe it will save them.
- Pretty soon they'll find themselves slaves to an autocratic world government which will dictate their every choice – one example being the number of children they will be permitted to have, which is already being enforced in China.
- It will essentially be a world where they will have less rights than they were born with.
- The truth is, it doesn't matter whether aliens exist or not, what really matters is what does the Global Elite want you to believe?
- It has been well documented that UFO technology was developed by the Nazis in order to win the Second World War.
- This technology was then transferred to the United States, most likely under Project Paperclip, in an attempt to take control of it before the Russians could.
- As fellow Sci-Fi Worlds interviewee Nick Redfern pointed out in his book Body Snatchers In The Desert, the Roswell incident was simply a military experiment that went wrong.
- The whole alien crash scenario was a great way of covering up the fact they used Japanese Prisoners of War in an experiment that would have eventually been deemed inhumane under the guidelines of the Geneva Convention.
- Stories about alien encounters have often turned out to be cover stories for military experiments or technology.

- Very few movies about extra-terrestrials actually involve aliens with peaceful intentions. E.T. certainly comes to mind, but even movies where they arrive as our benevolent "saviours" like The Day The Earth Stood Still, is still another permutation of the New World Order hoax, in which case it's about giving up our sovereignty, our "petty little differences" as Reagan put it, and joining a fascist global regime in order to achieve an alleged "world peace".
- It will be world peace but with a seriously heavy price on our freedoms.
- Mostly, though, these movies are programming us to believe that once we see vast armadas of classified military vehicles hovering in the sky, that they will in fact be UFOs driven by "extra-terrestrials" who are here to "kill us and take over our planet."
- And then the only solution we'll be presented with will be a heavy reliance on a Militarised 'New World Order' to save us. That's where the real agenda lies.
- Richard Thomas: In The New World Order there's a short clip from your film A.D. How did the film come about and what do you think have been some of your biggest sci-fi influences as a screenwriter?
- Timucin Leflef: Back in 1991 I wrote a satirical short story for our school magazine at a time when the Catholic Church was kicking up a storm about prophylactics being sold at the Virgin Megastore.
- The story involved the Catholic Church taking over Ireland some time in the near future in order to restore their waning power and was a way of acknowledging the fact we had been under a Catholic Dictatorship since the 1920's.
- I also wrote it to acknowledge the many stories that were surfacing about some priests' predilections for young boys, which also came quite close to affecting my own life in my late teens.
- When I returned from university in 1997, I rewrote the story as a 30-minute short film script entitled Totalit-Eireann, a play on the words Totalitarian and Eireann – the Irish genitive word for 'Ireland'.
- It was a mixture of ideas from Blade Runner to Isaac Asimov's robot stories and was about robots scapegoated by a futuristic fascist military regime.
- However, my attempts at getting 80k worth of film finance for it a year later failed. For budgetary reasons and for the fact that I was adamant to make it anyway, I retitled it A.D. and changed it from being a story about robot 'good guys' into alien 'bad guys'.
- I found that it would be easier and more cost-effective to have a man in a scary-looking alien mask than to build a convincing-looking robot.
- However, even at a revised 10k budget, it was still difficult to get money for my movie, perhaps because most people didn't believe a special effects film could be made at that level.
- It eventually came to a point where in 2000 I was working as a cameraman for a Community TV station which was being closed down by the Irish Government.
- In the middle of all this I had the inspired idea to make the sci-fi movie on a shoestring budget, with no proper funding, no equipment and no real idea how the finished product would turn out. It was a risk, but I had to take it as I knew nobody else could make it.
- Fortunately, when you get the ball rolling, providence ensues and people are more than willing to help you out. We shot most of it on a 3-chip mini-DV camera which I borrowed off a friend and edited the footage later on my computer.
- My biggest sci-fi influences for A.D. had to be Blade Runner, The Terminator and of course The Matrix, hence the cheap experimental bullet-time effects.
- Add to this my biggest sci-fi influences over the years which were 2001: A Space Odyssey, Total Recall, Robocop, Aliens, The Running Man and The Time Tunnel TV Series.
- You could probably add Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior to this list, although like the swine flu shot, it's not quite mandatory… yet.
- Richard Thomas: The trailer for Project Bluebeam, your other film, seems to be heavily based on the old 1950s sci-fi and horror trailers: are you a fan of those kind of films at all and, if so, what are some of your favourites? I'm a big fan of the old Hammer and Universal horror films myself so I don't know if they were an influence or not.
- Timucin Leflef: Well, I do love movies from that era, especially the ones that are visually stylish, thrilling and funny. That's why I've always liked Hitchcock movies, especially North By Northwest and also the early Bond movies from the 60s, like Goldfinger and From Russia With Love. Dr. Strangelove is also a personal favourite of mine for these reasons. It has to do with finding a certain type of tone, style and humour.
- With the UFO B-movies of the 50's, I essentially like them for their unintentional humour, which I find is often funnier than the gross-out comedies you see nowadays.
- Project Bluebeam itself is a way of harking back to those movies from the 1940s and 50s with their film noir style, quaint-looking effects, and their naïve outlook on 'the future'.
- I like the idea of making a sci-fi film noir done very much like Sin City, except funny, in colour and hopefully - if I can get the budget for it - in 3D.
- Richard Thomas: One of the things I love about A.D. and from the look of it Project Bluebeam too is that they seem to be borrowing heavily from conspiracy culture and blending it together with sci-fi.
- Looking back on it maybe that's exactly what George Orwell did with Nineteen Eighty-Four, although, you're doing it in a much more tongue in cheek style. Do you think this might be a more successful formula for waking the general public up?
- Timucin Leflef: Well, yes. The plan is to wake people up to certain possibilities and the best way of reaching them would be through popular culture.
- Books are certainly one way of achieving this goal and both George Orwell and Aldous Huxley were quite successful in alerting people to the Elite's fascist global agenda.
- Documentaries are another way, but over the years I have noticed how several researchers, writers and documentary makers have either been murdered or have died under suspicious circumstances, including Bill Cooper, Rik Clay, Jim Keith, Stephen Knight and allegedly Hunter S. Thompson who was making a documentary.
- Which begs the question why is Alex Jones still alive?
- However, mainstream features are most likely the best choice in my view. Not only are they a means of reaching a mass audience, but primarily because you're telling a story to entertain people.
- And what better a way to enlighten than through entertainment? This is what I think Stanley Kubrick was attempting to do with some of his movies, like Dr. Strangelove, which in my opinion is a perfect satire on Dr. Henry Kissinger and his cra-haaa-zy pro-nuclear foreign policy.
- Anthony Burgess admitted that A Clockwork Orange was based on rumours about the British Government's use of mind control techniques on prisoners in the 1970s.
- And of course Eyes Wide Shut - just Google the Elite's interest in Satanic ritual and I'll say no more.
- Feature films therefore may be a safer alternative as they can give you a degree of artistic license. I find comedies tend to be popular,
- and sci-fi is certainly one genre that allows people to suspend their disbelief to the point where they're open to accepting fresh ideas, which is useful if you're attempting to cause a shift in people's consciousness.
- This is why a movie like The Matrix could only have worked as Sci-Fi. Try doing it as a musical - "Hey Dude, Where's My Gun? I just found out I'm The One" – and it may not have been as effective.
- Richard Thomas: Given your Irish background people might be a little surprised that Roman Catholicism instead of British imperialism is presented as the capstone of the New World Order in A.D.
- Why did you make this choice and does it reflect your own research or upbringing at all? How important do you think the Vatican might be in this New World Order?
- Timucin Leflef: Again, it was another of those cases where I had written a story which turned out to be more accurate than I had initially realised.
- I wrote it originally to poke fun at Catholic Imperialism.
- Fortunately, after doing further research, I was pleasantly surprised I had hit the nail on the head, albeit through sheer dumb luck on my part.
- Legally speaking, the U.S. is still a colony of the British Empire, but Britain itself was colonised by Rome.
- As the Vatican is a continuation of the Roman Empire which itself has been around for over two millennia, you'll find they have accumulated a vast amount of wealth over that period.
- They funded Hitler and then created the Bilderberg Group to continue Hitler's plan for a New World Order.
- This is why both the Nazi Prince Bernhardt and Eugenicist Joseph Rettinger were Knights of Malta.
- It also turns out that the Vatican is a military order, much like in my movie, which is why some of their members have titles such as 'Knights' or 'Generals'.
- Essentially, if you follow the money, you'll find the Vatican is a major player in the scheme of things and that the old adage "All Roads Lead To Rome" is still applicable to this day.
- Richard Thomas: In A.D. we follow Malice 101 a genetically engineered assassin "perfect in every way" and programmed to kill.
- Given this do you share my concerns about what is called the "Transhumanist" movement and what are your thoughts on scientists like Professor of cybernetics at Reading University Kevin Warwick?

- Timucin Leflef: Wow, you make her sound like she's Mary Poppins on steroids. I've never heard that actual term being used before, although I do know that mind control experiments have been around since the 1950s when MK-ULTRA was formed as a research programme into chemical control of the human mind.
- Then in the 1960s, Dr. JosE Delgado's pioneering research lead to the development of the 'stimoceiver', a radio receiver which could be implanted into the brain to create what would have eventually lead to, in Delgado's view, the creation of a "Psychocivilized Society".
- He demonstrated this device by implanting it into a bull's brain and managed to stop it from charging at him simply by pressing a button. This transmitted a radio frequency to the bull which stopped it in its tracks.
- The demonstration was filmed, is well documented and lead to further research being done through a covert military operation in the1970s known as Project MILAB.
- Again, the idea of 'alien abduction' and 'alien implants' was used as a clever way of covering the fact they were conducting military mind control experiments on an unsuspecting public.
- A documentary was even shown on Irish national television in the late 1990s in which European MEPs were attempting to get these experiments stopped.
- I do find it quite concerning that the modern-day equivalent of this device, the VeriChip, is being touted as a medical necessity, allegedly to allow emergency services to gain quick access to your medical records, or to "find your granny" who may have "strayed away from the old folks home".
- Apparently, a variation of this means of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) will be used as a replacement for cash, but there is a far more sinister application behind it.
- If you've been implanted subdermally with an RFID chip, not only will they be able to track your location through the mobile phone network, which will act as a net in some ways, but the fact that it operates on microwave frequencies leaves it open for potential misuse as a mind control device, much like Delgado's work in the 60's.
- According to sources from within the Bilderberg Group, mass-microchipping was discussed at their meeting in Chantilly, Virginia in 2008.
- This will allegedly be for reasons of "National Security" or "anti-terrorism", but will in fact be used to keep tabs on us and control us, very much like what happened to Jewish people during the Holocaust.
- Again, Bill Cooper was the one who predicted they would be using such devices to control populations in a "cashless system of economic control",
- so be very wary once they start promoting RFID tagging for our 'safety'.
- In my opinion, after viewing the link you provided, the Professor you mention reminds me of those nuclear physicists in the 1940's who were short sighted enough to believe they were developing the A-Bomb for 'World Peace', only to later discover what a monstrous military weapon they had unleashed on the world.
- His insistence that Transhumanism will lead to "making a lot of money" and will also lead to "a lot of power" speaks for itself.
- In my opinion he is an insult to University Professors everywhere in that he shows no sign of independent critical thought but chooses instead to regurgitate the same old ideals of the Nazi Eugenicists. It is irresponsible and highly dangerous.
- Richard Thomas: Are you working on or have any ideas for any other sci-fi films right now? Also if you could write for any sci-fi series past or present, film or TV what would it be and what do you think you'd do different?
- Timucin Leflef: Well, I've been developing A.D. and Project Bluebeam, both of which are features, over the last few years.
- I was also making my own documentary on the New World Order, but was whacked on the back of the head last year in a suspicious assault, so I guess I may have to back out of that now.
- The funny thing is Jim Tucker predicted something like that would happen.

EFF sues feds for info on social-network surveillance

- The Electronic Frontier Foundation sued the CIA, the U.S. Department of Defense, Department of Justice, and three other government agencies on Tuesday for allegedly refusing to release information about how they are using social networks in surveillance and investigations.
- The nonprofit Internet rights watchdog group formally asked more than a dozen agencies or departments in early October to provide records about federal guidelines on the use of sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr for investigative or data gathering purposes, according to the lawsuit.
- The requests were prompted by published news reports about how authorities are using social networks to monitor citizen activities and aid in investigations.
- For example, according to the lawsuit, government officials have: used Facebook to hunt for fugitives and search for evidence of underage drinking; researched the activities of an activist on Facebook and LinkedIn; watched YouTube to identify riot suspects; searched the home of a social worker because of Twitter messages regarding police actions he sent during the G-20 summit; and used fake identities to trick Facebook users into accepting friend requests.
- The EFF needs access to the information to "help inform Congress and the public about the effect of such uses and purposes on citizens' privacy rights and associated legal protections," the lawsuit said.
- None of the agencies contacted had complied with the EFF's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests and only one, the IRS, had asked for an extension, according to the suit.
- The suit, filed in federal court in San Francisco, names the defendants as the CIA, the office of the Director of National Intelligence, and the departments of Defense, Justice, Homeland Security, and Treasury.
- The FOIA requests and the lawsuit were filed on behalf of the EFF by the Samuelson Law, Technology, and Public Policy Clinic at the University of California at Berkeley School of Law.
- Government surveillance of citizens, particularly in areas they consider private, should have oversight, said Shane Witnov, a law student who worked on the case for the Samuelson Clinic.
- "Social-networking sites are becoming a part of the way we communicate every day and everyone thinks they are sharing information [on the sites] with just their friends," he said.
- "Governments are using the sites but not in the way [citizens] expect when they sign up."
- The government agencies could not be reached for comment Tuesday afternoon.

  Well, the government's finally complied with FOIA requests for Iran-Contra, so maybe if we just give it another 20 years...
  
  It's a bit of a sticky issue, I suppose -- do privacy rights cover information that is posted publicly? At what point does government surveillance become illegal? I suppose an offline example would be that it's legal to see me leaving my house in the morning but if somebody's watching and recording every time I do it, that's surveillance, not simple observation.
- I think going so far as to send friend requests in order to access private information qualifies as entrapment, though.

  To instill fear in those who speak out against war.
  I myself spoke with a govt spook online and they got my info wrong way wrong.
- So the information they collect is highly suspect to me after proving my data they had as misleading.
  
  After all I always put out misleading info about myself online anyway. Google and see if you can reall build a true profile about me. I bet you $100 you can't.

  I'm not a lawyer, but I seem to recall that once you involve a third party (say Facebook), information is no longer private, no matter how you set your privacy controls. The "presence" of a third person negates the private communication.

  While the EFF is at it, maybe they could assess if the privacy of Targeted Individuals are being violated in similar ways while information is gathered. I think some of the topics the EFF cover might cross into areas of Gang Stalking and how individuals are targeted and their online privacy is accessed and invaded. I am not sure how this would be added to the lawsuit, but it would sure make it more interesting.

  The problem with some social networking sites is that their is also speculation, that some such as Facebook, may be used as data aggregates and their is even questions about links to the CIA and other agencies, so it would be truly interesting to find out more about how these agencies are using info from these sites. Is the info ending up in Fusion Centers?

- An Argentine military source told a U.S. Embassy contact in 1976 that the CIA had been deeply involved in setting up computerized links among the intelligence and operations units of the six Condor states."
- "U.S. forces also gave the Condor organization access to the U.S. continental communications system based in the Panama Canal Zone."
- Indeed, so extensive were these links that
- A declassified 1978 cable from U.S. Ambassador to Paraguay Robert White to the Secretary of State, "revealed that Condor operatives made use of a U.S. facility in the Canal Zone for secret communications and intelligence coordination."
- The Pentagon, according to White's declassified cable, provided the narco-linked death squad with the sophisticated electronic means to coordinate global operations.
- General Alejandro Fretes Dávalos, commander of Paraguay's armed forces told the ambassador, "that intelligence chiefs from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay used 'an encrypted system within the U.S. telecommunications net[work],' which covered all of Latin America, to 'coordinate intelligence information'."
- "Essentially," McSherry wrote, "U.S. military and/or intelligence forces put the official U.S. communications channel at the disposal of Operation Condor. It was a collaboration reflecting high-level executive approval of Condor."
- This "high-level executive approval" of an international death squad reflected past--and current--Pentagon thinking that when it comes to killing capitalism's opponents, everything is permitted.
- The parallels to contemporary American covert intelligence and military operations in Afghanistan and Pakistan, with their documented linkages to the flourishing international drug trade are striking.
- That these moves by Washington to seize the geostrategic high ground vis-à-vis their imperialist rivals, as in Latin America decades earlier, have spawned an unholy alliance with far-right political forces, warlords, religious extremists and drug traffickers, exposes the lie that U.S. military intervention has anything to do with democracy and human rights.
- Thirty years ago Danish journalist Henrik Krüger observed:
- International Fascista was a crucial first step toward fulfilling the dream not only of [SS Col. Otto] Skorzeny, but also of his close friends in Madrid exile, José Lopez Rega, Juan Peron's grey eminence, and Prince Justo Valerio Borghese, the Italian Fascist money man who had been rescued from execution at the hands of the World War II Italian resistance by future CIA counterintelligence whiz James J. Angleton.
- They, and other Nazi and Fascist powers throughout Europe and Latin America, envisioned a new world order built on a Fascist Iron Circle linking Buenos Aires, Santiago, Lima, La Paz, Brasilia and Montevideo.

- Shaped by French unconventional warfare doctrines, U.S. counterinsurgency tactics employed in Southeast Asia, and their own on the ground expertise crushing dissent, the "new professionalism of internal security" deployed by Condor operatives--code for massive repression and unrestrained violence--was directed against the people of Latin America with predictable results.
- Eerily prefiguring America's "War on Terror," counterinsurgency "specialist" Roger Trinquier, the author of Modern Warfare and an architect of France's bloody repression during the Algerian anticolonial struggle (1954-1962),
- averred that counterguerrillas must employ the full range of psychological warfare techniques against the civilian population if victory is to be achieved.
- This is a thesis to which Crawford returns time and again, particularly as it relates to the covert decapitation of resistance networks by American manhunters.
- Fast forward and it becomes all-too-clear that Krüger's "Fascist Iron Circle" didn't disappear with Pinochet's fall from grace; instead, it has morphed into a high-tech killing machine whose tentacles have fanned-out from the Washington Beltway to encircle the globe.
- Peter Dale Scott, writing on America's descent into a lawless state presciently remarked:
- Mafias and empires have certain elements in common. Both can be seen as the systematic violent imposition of governance in areas of undergovernance. Both use atrocities to achieve their ends; but both tend to be tolerated to the extent that the result of their controlled violence is a diminution of uncontrolled violence. I would tentatively suggest an important difference between mafias and empires: that, with the passage of time, mafias tend to become more and more part of the civil society whose rules they once broke, while empires tend to become more and more irreconcilably at odds with the societies they once controlled. - Indeed, the "controlled violence" implicit in Crawford's thesis, provides stark confirmation of Scott's analysis that as the imperialist empire unravels it tends "to become more and more irreconcilably at odds" with popular control in a democratic republic.
- The Mechanics of Standing Up a Death Squad
- In "Unconventional Warfare in the 21st Century," Antifascist Calling revealed last December that USSOCOM had published its definitive doctrine on the subject. Titled Unconventional Warfare, the 248-page document asserted that Unconventional Warfare or UW establishes a "litmus test," namely warfare conducted "by, with or through surrogates" and that their preferred assets are irregular forces:
- Irregulars, or irregular forces, are individuals or groups of individuals who are not members of a regular armed force, police, or other internal security force. They are usually nonstate-sponsored and unconstrained by sovereign nation legalities and boundaries. These forces may include, but are not limited to, specific paramilitary forces, contractors, individuals, businesses, foreign political organizations, resistance or insurgent organizations, expatriates, transnational terrorism adversaries, disillusioned transnational terrorism members, black marketers, and other social or political "undesirables."

- And with an explicitly stated goal to "gain or maintain control or influence over the population and to support that population through political, psychological, and economic methods," the organization that Crawford proposes in Manhunting clearly exists along this UW warfighting continuum.
- Manhunting--the deliberate concentration of national power to find, influence, capture, or when necessary kill an individual to disrupt a human network--has emerged as a key component of operations to counter irregular warfare adversaries in lieu of traditional state-on-state conflict measures.
- It has arguably become a primary area of emphasis in countering terrorist and insurgent opponents.

- In the author's view, a national manhunting agency of necessity, will be a hybrid organization, combining features of a Special Forces small tactical team with those of the FBI's Hostage Rescue Team (HRT), the U.S. Marshals Services' Special Operations Group (USMSSOG) at the federal level, "down to Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams and fugitive or criminal task forces in most U.S. cities."
- In addition to American examples, the author cites New Scotland Yard's Antiterrorist Branch (SO13), Germany's Grenzschutzgruppe (GSG-9), and the French Groupe de Sécurité et d'Intervention de la Gendarmerie Nationale (GIGN) as examples of a combined task force built on the "elite unit concept."
- Moving on, Crawford recommends Israel's Sayaret Mat'kal, "a special reconnaissance unit within Israel's General Headquarters Intelligence Corps.
- Lest readers forget, New Scotland Yard's Antiterrorist Branch, SO13, was the "crack" unit that murdered Jean Claude de Menezes in cold blood on a London subway in 2005.
- After an investigation that was little more than a cover-up, it was revealed that de Menezes was entirely innocent and had been mistakenly targeted by SO13's armed wing, SO19, as part of "Operation Kratos," the Met's controversial "shoot-to-kill" program meant to take down suspected terrorists and would-be suicide bombers.
- De Menezes was neither, but that didn't stop police from pumping seven bullets into his head.
- Acknowledged manhunting masters in their own right, the Israeli settler-colonial security apparat have perfected the art of the "targeted killing," when they aren't dropping banned munitions such as white phosphorus on unarmed and defenseless civilian populations.
- Like their Israeli counterparts who come highly recommended as models of restraint, an American manhunting agency will employ similarly subtle, though no less lethal, tactics. Crawford writes:
- When compared with conventional force-on-force warfare, manhunting fundamentally alters the ratio between warfare's respective firepower, maneuver, and psychological elements.
- Firepower becomes less significant in terms of mass, while the precision and discretion with which firepower is employed takes on tremendous significance, especially during influence operations. Why drop a bomb when effects operations or a knife might do? (Crawford, op. cit., p. 11, emphasis added)
- Where "influence" and "effects" operations are concerned, secrecy and deceit are the norm and discretion in choosing a "target" is transformed into a morality play with a unique demonstration effect:
- If internal security forces arrest a terrorist, it is an act of law enforcement, most often viewed favorably by both the international and domestic communities. If a terrorist is killed in an alley by an unknown assailant, it is an unsolved crime, a crime which may not be deeply investigated if the terrorist has a lengthy rap sheet.
- Thus it may be preferable to consign terrorist manhunting to intelligence and law enforcement organs and to avoid entanglements caused by crossing manhunting with military or diplomatic functions.
- Where manhunting is concerned, there may be legal and moral advantage in ambiguity and plausible denial. (Crawford, op. cit., p. 16)
- Harken back to Seymour Hersh's description of how Dick Cheney's "executive assassination ring" actually performed in the real world: "they've been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving."
- This too, was the precise mechanism employed by Operation Condor assassins across Latin America, Europe and the United States during the 1970s.
- Small teams of highly-trained, plausibly deniable intelligence officers and assets, including NATO-trained Italian neofascists, Turkish narcotraffickers and CIA-sponsored Cuban exiles carried out a reign of terror against their Southern Cone leftist opponents.
- While the 1976 car-bombing in Washington, D.C. that murdered former Chilean Foreign Minister Orlando Letelier and his secretary, Ronni Moffitt, may be the most notorious Condor operation to come to light,
- dozens if not hundreds of other "catch and snatch" operations were carried out, with a wink-and-a-nod from Washington.
- Those "disappeared" into Argentine or Chilean dungeons were never to be seen again.
- The highly-specialized and compartmented nature of Crawford's manhunting agency would become a permanent feature of America's oxymoronic "War on Terror."
- They would be trained in physical, intelligence, and virtual-tracking techniques.
- The team will also include "shooters," supported by on-call logistics and administrative support.
- Rather than an ad-hoc task force in the nature of the current law enforcement, Intelligence Community, or DoD operations, manhunting teams would be standing formations, trained to pursue their designated quarry relentlessly for as long as required to accomplish the mission.

  twisted way of thinking, they believe what they are doing is for

  Nazi but it would be more proper to define them as deliberately
  physically brain damaged peoples. They are crazy and there's no
  such thing as a normal minded Nazi.

  suffocate, smash the soft spots of top of their head, and give
  shots to their newborns to destroys brain cells as part of the
  human guinea pig experimentations.

  children are trained to cough in the victims faces at school any

  of her body to everybody in Butler county. It had to look like

  I don't know how many cops were Nazis but it was a heck of a lot
  of them. They pretty well ran Butler county when I was growing
  up there.
- One time, when
  I was a teenager talking to some people on the street, a squad
  car came up and the thug that got out pistol-whipped me and I
  fell to the ground. I got up and said, "Take that badge off and
  throw it on the ground so I can spit on it because it offends me
  that a man wearing a badge can pistol-whip me."
- In 1984 when
  the investigation of the cover-up began, the sheriff in Butler
  county was named Link. Interpol already had evidence going
  back to 1971 and then the FBI and CIA came in and watched Link
  until they knew they had all his contacts.

  chems and bios and before they die a dose of truth serum. I too
  had a dose in 1985 in Osteopathic hospital in Ft Worth. They put

- Scahill was on The Rachel Maddow Show discussing the New York Times' revelation that senior Blackwater executives allegedly arranged for bribes of up to $1 million for Iraqi politicians in a bid to retain its contracts and silence criticism of the company in the wake of the Nissour Square massacre in 2007, in which 17 Iraqi civilians died after Blackwater guards opened fire.
- Though the Times report stated that it's unknown if the approved bribes ever reached their targets -- Iraqi politicians -- Scahill drew a connection between the alleged bribes and the fact that, after the Nissour Sqaure massacre, the Iraqi government first decided to bar Blackwater from operating in the country, and then reversed its position.
- "You had the Iraqi government saying Blackwater was banned from that country, then suddenly doing an about face, and Blackwater remains in Iraq to this day," Scahill said.
- That sentiment was echoed by Spencer Ackerman at the Washington Independent, who also suggested a link between the alleged bribes and Blackwater's continued presence in Iraq. "Now we have some inkling of why the Iraqis allowed the firm to stay," Ackerman blogged.
- Scahill suggested that the security firm's deep and continued involvement in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars means the company could potentially embarrass any administration with the things it can reveal.
- "Another way of looking at this is Blackwater knows where a lot of bodies are buried," Scahill told Maddow.
- "These are guys who worked on the CIA assassination program, the drone bombing campaign, and regarding all of the senior officals, they know a heck of a lot about what happened in Iraq and Afghanistan, and those are not guys that you want on the other side of the fence if you're running Washington."

The published evidence indicates that Project MK-ULTRA involved the surreptitious use of many types of drugs, as well as other methods, to manipulate individual mental states and to alter brain function.

- The bolt of lightning implies that her thoughtless body has been “charged” with a force that gives it life (interesting note: trauma-based mind control is often induced using electro-shock treatments).

- You only need to look at a couple of Lady Gaga pictures or videos to notice that she is constantly hiding one of her eyes.
- Most people will simply interpret this as ”a cool thing to do” or a “fashion statement”.
- Those who have passed the 101 of Illuminati symbolism know that the All-Seeing Eye is probably its most recognizable symbol.

- Almost all of Lady Gaga’s videos contain occult symbolism and not-so-subtle hints referring to mind control.
- We’ll first look at a short video used as an intro during her tour.
- Lady G is talking in a vaporous and robotic way, as if she was lobotomized, about a man who “swallowed her brain”.
- Gaga is questioned by a man who is talking in a very strange and hypnotic matter. If this is not about mind control, I have no idea what its about.
- Paparazzi Video
- This video is loaded with symbolism but we’ll focus on the main story. It basically describes the fall and rise to the top of Lady Gaga, who, during the process, went through a huge metamorphosis.
- Notice the Masonic checkerboard pattern on the wall and a ram’s head, representing Satanism.
- Lady is in a bedroom with her boyfriend and they’re “getting it on”.
- He takes her outside on the balcony (which also features a checkerboard pattern). After noticing cameras taking pictures, the guy starts acting strangely and things get violent. He finally pushes Lady off the balcony.
- Lady Gaga falls down rather stylishly, hinting the fact that this descent is not physical. It represents the “trauma” victims of mind control have to go through in order to be “rebuilt from scratch”.
- While falling down, the background becomes a swirling pattern, typically associated with hypnotism.
- Lady Gaga then enters a mansion in a wheel chair and gradually takes off her clothes.
- She slowly starts walking, with the help of crutches, representing her reeducation by the occult elite (she is inside a mansion).
- She is dressed like a robot, hinting Maria from the movie Metropolis, as seen above.
- Another scene shows her dancing in a half white/half black wedding dress. This signifies her (forced) association with the “dark Brotherhood”. Her transformation is then complete.
- We then see her next to the boyfriend that pushed her off the balcony.
- She is behaving in a very robotic way, as if her thoughts and actions were controlled by someone else.
- She is wearing Mickey Mouse clothes, hinting once again Monarch programming.
- Gaga then proceeds to poison the guy and smiles very weirdly about it. The fact that she murdered her boyfriend refers to the level “Delta” of the Monarch project, which is also known as the “killer” programming.

- Over the years, the American Central Intelligence Agency has gained a reputation for being the most far-reaching, sophisticated, and effective government intelligence agency on the planet.
- At the same time, the CIA has also become known for its incredible paranoia and propensity to undertake costly, sometimes illegal, and often downright absurd projects in the name of gaining an edge on the competition.
- From spy cats to psychic hippies, the following are ten of the weirdest spy programs the government has proposed and funded over the years.
- 10. Acoustic Kitty
- Most people wouldn’t think of the common house cat as being a potential master of espionage, but the CIA sure did.
- In the 1960s, American intelligence is said to have spent over $20 million on “Acoustic Kitty,” a top-secret project that used cats as recording devices.
- The project took a group of specially trained cats and surgically implanted microphones, antennae and batteries into their tails, and then set them loose near the Russian embassy.
- The idea was that an unassuming cat would be able to stride right up to groups of communist officials and listen in on their conversation, which it could then beam back to agents with its sophisticated radio equipment.
- The plan was eventually put into action, but the first cat sent into the field was supposedly run over by a taxi before it could make a recording, and operation ‘Acoustic Kitty” was abandoned shortly thereafter.
- 9. Operation Mockingbird
- One of the most ambitious and downright insidious programs ever launched by the CIA was Operation Mockingbird, a propaganda project that was implemented in the early 1950s.
- It was a massive undertaking that saw as many as 3,000 CIA agents and collaborators attempt to gain some control of the free press by feeding select groups of reporters information and using newspapers at home and abroad to filter the kinds of stories that got to the public.
- At its height, the program included writers for the New York Times, Newsweek, and Time Magazine among its ranks, and was said to have a significant influence on as many as 25 major newspapers.
- The program had a major impact abroad, as well, as it served a major function in helping to sway public opinion in the run-up to the eventual overthrowing of Guatemala’s leftist president.
- Operation Mockingbird continued to have a major effect on worldwide media throughout the 50s, and it was not until the 60s that a series of reports by investigative journalists brought the program to light.
- 8. Operation Gold
  
  The tapped telephone wires are presented to the press.
- One of the most audacious intelligence operations of the Cold War was 1953’s Operation Gold, which was a joint effort between the CIA and the British MI6 to hack into the phone lines of the Soviet headquarters in East Berlin.
- This required the construction of a massive 450-meter long tunnel that would intersect with an underground telephone junction. Just preparing the tunnel took six months, and involved a substantial amount of risk and subterfuge.
- But when it was done, the CIA proceeded to carefully record as many as 50,000 telephone conversations over the course of nearly a year.
- The problem? A mole in British intelligence had tipped off the KGB about Operation Gold before the tunnel was even completed, and the Soviets had been feeding fake them information the entire time.
- In 1956, the Soviets raided the tunnel and shut it down, and the operation eventually caused a great deal of controversy for the American and British intelligence communities.
- 7. Operation Northwoods
- In the early 1960s, when the Cold War was in full swing and fear of communism was rampant, a plan dubbed Operation Northwoods was proposed within the American CIA.
- In short, it called for the government to perform a series of violent terrorist actions in U.S. cities including bombings, hijackings, phony riots, and sabotage, all of which could then be blamed on Cuba.
- This would drum up support for a war against the communists and lead to an eventual military operation to remove Fidel Castro from power.
- The plan was drafted and signed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff and presented to President John F. Kennedy, who personally rejected it, and it was subsequently abandoned.
- For years after, Operation Northwoods existed as a rumor, but it was finally revealed to be true when top-secret documents describing the plan were made public in 1997 as part of a release of government papers relating to the Kennedy assassination.
- 6. Project Pigeon
- One of the most seemingly preposterous military programs of all time occurred during WWII, when famed behavioral psychologist B.F. Skinner was enlisted by the government to try and train pigeons for use in a missile guidance system.
- At the time, Skinner was known as one of the major practitioners of operant conditioning, a system that used reward and punishment as a means of controlling behavior.
- With these ideas in mind, Skinner placed a series of specially trained pigeons inside missiles. A camera on the front of the missile recorded its flight path, which was then projected on a screen for the pigeon to see. The birds were trained to recognize the missile’s intended target, and they would peck at the screen if it was drifting off course.
- This information was fed to the weapon’s flight controls, which would then be changed to reflect the new coordinates.
- Skinner was originally given $25,000 to get the project up and running, and he actually managed to make some minor progress with it. - 5. Operation Midnight Climax
- In the early 1960s, the youth culture of America was first beginning to experiment with hallucinogenic drugs like LSD, and so was the Central Intelligence Agency.
- Operation Midnight Climax was one of the government’s most ridiculous and illegal attempts to test the possible uses of drugs like acid by administering them to unsuspecting citizens.
- The program was run out of a collection of safehouses in New York and California.
- Prostitutes were used to lure young men to the houses, at which point they were given food or drink spiked with LSD and other drugs and placed in a room with a two-way mirror where their behavior could be observed.
- Midnight Climax was essentially an experimental program designed to monitor the possible tactical uses of psychotropic drugs and sexual blackmail in the field, but even within the Agency it was controversial, and it was shut down after only a few years.
- Most of the files connected to the operation were destroyed, but a few survived, and in the early 70s the files regarding Midnight Climax and many other illegal CIA programs were brought to light in a famous story by the New York Times.
- 4. The Stargate Project
- The $20 million Stargate Project was a blanket term used to describe a large number of psychic experiments and investigations undertaken by the U.S. government between the 70s and 90s.
- The biggest goal of the Stargate Project was to investigate the scientific probability of “remote viewing,” which is the psychic ability to witness events over great distances.
- The program, which also investigated psychic abilities like out of body experiences and clairvoyance, tested subjects on their ability to predict future events and read hidden documents.
- The Stargate Project usually enlisted the services of anywhere from 3 to 22 subjects at a time, many of whom managed to test with an accuracy rating as much as 15% higher than the norm.
- Still, although some participants claimed to have correctly predicted major world events like military attacks and hostage situations, the program found that remote viewers and so-called telepaths were still wrong nearly 80 percent of the time, and in 1995 the CIA cancelled the Stargate Project for good.
- 3. Operation Mongoose
- In the early 60s, communist Cuba became one of the major battlegrounds of the Cold War, and its president Fidel Castro came to be considered one of the most dangerous political figures in the world.
- After early attempts to overthrow Castro by force failed, the CIA instituted Operation Mongoose, which was a secret war of propaganda and sabotage designed to remove the Cuban leader from power.
- Operation Mongoose had a remarkably wide scope, and included plans to fake attacks on Cuban exiles, provide arms to opposition groups, and destroy Cuba’s crop of sugarcane.
- It also included several attempts to either assassinate or discredit Castro in the press, each of which was more elaborate and ridiculous than the next.
- The Agency considered, among other things, poisoning Castro’s personal supply of cigars, planting explosives disguised as seashells in his favorite swimming spots, and injecting him with a deadly chemical from a hypodermic needle disguised as a pen.
- Even more bizarre were the plans to discredit Castro in the public eye, which included a proposal to spray a TV studio with hallucinogens prior to one of the leader’s televised speeches, and even planting chemicals in his clothes that would cause his famous beard to fall out.
- The near-disaster of the Cuban Missile Crisis put Operation Mongoose on hold, and following an agreement between Kennedy and the Soviets, it was more or less abandoned.
- 2. Project MKULTRA
- One of the most downright creepy government programs and the fodder for countless conspiracy theories, Project MKULTRA was a sweeping and top-secret CIA program started in the early 1950s that included experiments in “chemical interrogation” and mind control.
- In short, MKULTRA was a plan that sought to use drugs, psychological stress, and bizarre interrogation methods to get information, control behavior, and even alter brain function.
- To this day, much of the information on the project remains classified, but what we do know is that the program involved the testing and interrogation of private citizens—often without their knowledge or consent—in the service of discovering whether or not certain drugs could be used as truth serums.
- This included giving subjects large doses of LSD, amphetamine, and mescaline, as well as shock therapy.
- In one case, subjects were supposedly dosed with acid for 77 days straight in an attempt to test the effects of long-term exposure to the drug.
- Conspiracy theories abide about the real goals of the project, with some saying it was a program to engineer zombie assassins through mind control and brainwashing.
- Some information about MKULTRA was finally brought to light in the early seventies, when news reports about CIA abuses of power led to a Congressional commission.
- The project was subsequently shut down, but many people claim that similar CIA programs still exist to this day.
- 1. The Bay of Pigs Invasion
- For sheer absurdity, wastefulness, and infamy, few CIA projects compare to 1961’s failed Bay of Pigs Invasion.
- The program was one of the first and boldest attempts to overthrow communist Cuban leader Fidel Castro, but it was also the most disastrously unsuccessful.
- It started in 1960, when the CIA, under the authorization of the President, began planning an attempted overthrow of the Cuban government.
- In order to eliminate any link to the U.S., the attack was to be perpetrated by an army of Cuban exiles specially trained by the CIA.
- After a series of diversionary air strikes, on April 17, 1961, a group of amphibious troop transports landed on a beach in the Bay of Pigs and began unloading their cargo of 1,300 exile guerillas. The plan was for them to rendezvous with a smaller band of paratroops to be dropped soon after their arrival, but from the beginning their plan was tragically mistimed.
- For starters, Cuban intelligence was already aware of the planned invasion, and this meant that when the exile troops landed they were almost immediately under attack. To add to the force’s problems, bad weather, coral reefs, and the Cuban swamps quickly claimed most of their equipment.
- All told, an estimated 2,000 Cubans died during the invasion, while over 100 members of the exile army were killed in action.
- The remaining 1,200 were captured and imprisoned, and some were later executed on the orders of Castro.
- Over a year later, the rest were freed in exchange for $53 million in food and medicine for Cuban people. The effects of the Bay of Pigs were far reaching. Several American officials resigned over their involvement in it, and many have credited it with increasing the resolve of the Cuban government and encouraging a severe distrust of American foreign policy in the years that followed.

- CIA director Leon Panetta got into hot water with Congress, after he revealed an agency program to hunt down and kill terrorists.
- A recent report from the U.S. military’s Joint Special Operations University argues that the CIA didn’t go far enough (.pdf). Instead, it suggests the American government should set up something like a “National Manhunting Agency” to go after jihadists, drug dealers, pirates and other enemies of the state.
- America’s military, intelligence and law-enforcement agencies already devote thousands of people and billions of dollars to tracking down top terrorists and insurgents.
- But even the most successful of these efforts — like going after Iraqi militant leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — have been “ad hoc” efforts, with units cobbled together from different corners of the government.
- Report author and retired Lt. Col. George Crawford instead would like to see a permanent group with clear authority, training, doctrine and technology to go after these dangerous individuals.
- These “manhunting teams would be standing formations, trained to pursue their designated quarry relentlessly for as long as required to accomplish the mission,” he writes.
- Sometimes, that will mean operating “in uncooperative countries.” In those cases, the teams must be prepared “to act unilaterally, with no support or coordination with local authorities, in a manner similar to that employed by Israel’s Avner team in response to the Munich Olympics massacre.”
- (That was the controversial unit, fictionalized in Steven Spielberg’s movie, that allegedly roamed the world, assassinating Palestinian militants in response to the 1972 Olympic attack.)
- The hit squads would only be one part of the manhunting agency, according to the Joint Special Operations University monograph, uncovered by Inside Defense.
- “Dedicated teams must be assembled, able to respond ‘on-call’ in the event of a raid on a suspect site or to conduct independent ‘break-in and search’ operations without leaving evidence of their intrusion,” Crawford notes.
- Manhunting will also “require personnel who are experts at conducting surveillance of particular facilities, personnel, or activities without arousing suspicion or being detected,” he adds.
- “Picture in your mind a typical city street scene, with a little old lady walking her dog, the phone repair crew descending into a manhole, two little old men playing an innocent game of checkers, or the homeless person sleeping on the park bench, and you are on the right track.”
- “Human networks are behind narcotics trafficking, arms proliferation, piracy, hiding war criminals from authorities, human trafficking, or other smuggling activities,” Crawford writes.
- Such a group wouldn’t just go after terrorists.
- “Human networks also lie at the core of national governments, offering an increased potential to nonlethally influence state actors with precision. A robust manhunting capability would allow the United States to interdict these human networks.”
- Crawford, who says he served as the “lead strategist” for developing U.S. Special Operations Command’s “advanced intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities for counterterrorism operations,” compares manhunting to “curling, the Winter Olympics sport.

- In this context, the whistleblowing web site Wikileaks published a remarkable document October 4 by the INDECT Consortium, the Intelligence Information System Supporting Observation, Searching and Detection for Security of Citizens in Urban Environment.
- Hardly a catchy acronym, but simply put INDECT is working to put a human face on the billions of emails, text messages, tweets and blog posts that transit cyberspace every day; perhaps your face.
- According to Wikileaks, INDECT's "Work package 4" is designed "to comb web blogs, chat sites, news reports, and social-networking sites in order to build up automatic dossiers on individuals, organizations and their relationships." Ponder that phrase again: "automatic dossiers."
- This isn't the first time that European academics have applied their "knowledge skill sets" to keep the public "safe"--from a meaningful exercise of free speech and the right to assemble, that is.
- Last year The Guardian reported that Bath University researchers' Cityware project covertly tracked "tens of thousands of Britons" through the installation of Bluetooth scanners that capture "radio signals transmitted from devices such as mobile phones, laptops and digital cameras, and using the data to follow unwitting targets without their permission."
- One privacy advocate, Simon Davies, the director of Privacy International, told The Guardian: "This technology could well become the CCTV of the mobile industry.
- It would not take much adjustment to make this system a ubiquitous surveillance infrastructure over which we have no control."
  
  Which of course, is precisely the point.
- As researchers scramble for a windfall of cash from governments eager to fund these dubious projects, European police and security agencies aren't far behind their FBI and NSA colleagues in the spy game.
- The online privacy advocates, Quintessenz, published a series of leaked documents in 2008 that described the network monitoring and data mining suites designed by Nokia Siemens, Ericsson and Verint.
- The Nokia Siemens Intelligence Platform dubbed "intelligence in a box," integrate tasks generally done by separate security teams and pools the data from sources such as telephone or mobile calls, email and internet activity, bank transactions, insurance records and the like. Call it data mining on steroids.

- Ironically enough however, Siemens, the giant German electronics firm was caught up in a global bribery scandal that cost the company some $1.6 billion in fines.
- Last year, The New York Times described "a web of secret bank accounts and shadowy consultants," and a culture of "entrenched corruption ... at a sprawling, sophisticated corporation that externally embraced the nostrums of a transparent global marketplace built on legitimate transactions."

- This multi-billion industry in general, has been a boon for the largest American and European defense corporations.
- Among the top ten companies listed by Washington Technology in their annual ranking of the "Top 100" prime government contractors, all ten--from Lockheed Martin to Booz Allen Hamilton--earned a combined total of $68 billion in 2008 from defense and related homeland security work for the secret state.
- And like Siemens, all ten corporations figure prominently on the Project on Government Oversight's Federal Contractor Misconduct Database (FCMD), which tracks "contract fraud, environmental, ethics, and labor violations." Talk about a rigged game!
- Designing everything from nuclear missile components to eavesdropping equipment for various government agencies in the United States and abroad, including some of the most repressive regimes on the planet, these firms have moved into manufacturing the hardware and related computer software for social networking surveillance in a big way.
- Wired revealed in April that the FBI is routinely monitoring cell phone calls and internet activity during criminal and counterterrorism investigations.
- The publication posted a series of internal documents that described the Wi-Fi and computer hacking capabilities of the Bureau's Cryptographic and Electronic Analysis Unit (CEAU).
- New Scientist reported back in 2006 that the National Security Agency "is funding research into the mass harvesting of the information that people post about themselves on social networks."
- And just this week in an exclusive report published by the British high-tech publication, The Register, it was revealed that "the government has outsourced parts of its biggest ever mass surveillance project to the disaster-prone IT services giant formerly known as EDS."
- That work is being conducted under the auspices of the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ), the British state's equivalent of America's National Security Agency.
- Investigative journalist Chris Williams disclosed that the American computer giant HP, which purchased EDS for some $13.9 billion last year, is "designing and installing the massive computing resources that will be needed to analyse details of who contacts whom, when where and how."
- Work at GCHQ in Cheltenham is being carried out under "a secret project called Mastering the Internet."
- In May, a Home Office document surfaced that "ostensibly sought views on whether ISPs should be forced to gather terabytes of data from their networks on the government's behalf."
- The Register reported earlier this year that telecommunications behemoth Detica and U.S. defense giant Lockheed Martin were providing GCHQ with data mining software "which searches bulk data, such as communications records, for patterns ... to identify suspects."

- It seems however, that INDECT researchers like their GCHQ/NSA kissin' cousins in Britain and the United States, are burrowing ever-deeper into the nuts-and-bolts of electronic social networking and may be on the verge of an Orwellian surveillance "breakthrough."
- As New Scientist sagely predicted, the secret state most certainly plans to "harness advances in internet technology--specifically the forthcoming 'semantic web' championed by the web standards organisation W3C--to combine data from social networking websites with details such as banking, retail and property records, allowing the NSA to build extensive, all-embracing personal profiles of individuals."

- Pretty alarming, but the devil as they say is in the details and INDECT's release of their "Work package 4" file makes for a very interesting read.
- And with a title, "XML Data Corpus: Report on methodology for collection, cleaning and unified representation of large textual data from various sources: news reports, weblogs, chat," rest assured one must plow through much in the way of geeky gibberish and tech-speak to get to the heartless heart of the matter.
- INDECT itself is a rather interesting amalgamation of spooks, cops and academics.

- the Police Service of Northern Ireland, PSNI, United Kingdom (hardly slouches when it comes to stitching-up Republicans and other leftist agitators!);

- University of York, Great Britain;
- Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic;

- I don't know about you, but I find it rather ironic that the European Union, ostensible guardians of democracy and human rights, have turned for assistance in their surveillance projects to police and spy outfits from the former Soviet bloc, who after all know a thing or two when it comes to monitoring their citizens.

- Right up front, York University's Suresh Manadhar, Ionnis Klapaftis and Shailesh Pandey, the principle authors of the INDECT report, make their intentions clear.
- Since "security" as the authors argue, "is becoming a weak point of energy and communications infrastructures, commercial stores, conference centers, airports and sites with high person traffic in general," they aver that "access control and rapid response to potential dangers are properties that every security system for such environments should have."
- Does INDECT propose building a just and prosperous global society, thus lessening the potential that terrorist killers or other miscreants will exploit a "target rich environment" that may prove deadly for innocent workers who, after all, were the principle victims of the 2004 and 2007 terrorist outrages in Madrid and London? Hardly.
- As with their colleagues across the pond, INDECT is hunting for the ever-elusive technological quick-fix, a high-tech magic bullet.
- One, I might add, that will deliver neither safety nor security but rather, will constrict the democratic space where social justice movements flourish while furthering the reach of unaccountable security agencies.

- The document "describes the first deliverable of the work package which gives an overview about the main methodology and description of the XML data corpus schema and describes the methodology for collection, cleaning and unified representation of large textual data from various sources: news reports, weblogs, chat, etc."
- The first order of business "is the study and critical review of the annotation schemes employed so far for the development and evaluation of methods for entity resolution, co-reference resolution and entity attributes identification."
- In other words, how do present technologic capabilities provide police, security agencies and capitalist grifters with the ability to identify who might be speaking to whom and for what purpose.
- INDECT proposes to introduce "a new annotation scheme that builds upon the strengths of the current-state-of-the-art," one that "should be extensible and modifiable to the requirements of the project."
- Asserting that "an XML data corpus [can be] extracted from forums and social networks related to specific threats (e.g. hooliganism, terrorism, vandalism, etc.)," the authors claim they will provide "different entity types according to the requirements of the project. The grouping of all references to an entity together. The relationships between different entities" and finally, "the events in which entities participate."
- Why stop there? Why not list the ubiquitous "other" areas of concern to INDECT's secret state partners?
- While "hooliganism, terrorism, vandalism, etc.," may be the ostensible purpose of their "entity attributes identification" project, surely INDECT is well aware that such schemes are just as easily applicable to local citizen groups, socialist and anarchist organizations, or to the innumerable environmental, human rights or consumer campaigners who challenge the dominant free market paradigm of their corporate sponsors.
  - I might add to this list of potential Outcasts: real "genuine article" Christians; sellers-buyers-readers of the Bible and those who go about habitually praying in "Jesus' name" or having the benighted affrontery to actually hold such an antiquated belief system that He is literally the "only begotten Son of the living God." - on 2009-10-27

- The authors however, couldn't be bothered by the sinister applications that may be spawned by their research; indeed, they seem quite proud of it.
- "The main achievements of this work" they aver, "allows the identification of several types of entities, groups the same references into one class, while at the same time allows the identification of relationships and events."
- Indeed, the "inclusion of a multi-layered ontology ensures the consistency of the annotation" and will facilitate in the (near) future, "the use of inference mechanisms such as transitivity to allow the development of search engines that go beyond simple keyword search."
- Quite an accomplishment! An enterprising security service or capitalist marketing specialist need only sift through veritable mountains of data available from commercial databases, or mobile calls, tweets, blog posts and internet searches to instantaneously identity "key agitators," to borrow the FBI's very 20th century description of political dissidents;
- individuals who could be detained or "neutralized" should sterner methods be required.
- Indeed, a surveillance scheme such as the one INDECT is building could greatly facilitate--and simplify--the already formidable U.S. "Main Core" database that "reportedly collects and stores--without warrants or court orders--the names and detailed data of Americans considered to be threats to national security," as investigative journalists Tim Shorrock and Christopher Ketchum revealed in two disturbing reports last year.
- The scale of "datasets/annotation schemes" exploited by INDECT is truly breathtaking and include: "Automatic Content Extraction" gleaned from "a variety of sources, such as news, broadcast conversations" that identify "relations between entities, and the events in which these participate."
- We next discover what is euphemistically called the "Knowledge Base Population (KBP)," an annotation scheme that "focuses on the identification of entity types of Person (PER), Organization (ORG), and Geo-Political Entity (GPE), Location (LOC), Facility (FAC), Geographical/Social/Political (GPE), Vehicle (VEH) and Weapon (WEA)."
- How is this accomplished? Why through an exploitation of open source materials of course!
- INDECT researchers readily aver that "a snapshot of Wikipedia infoboxes is used as the original knowledge source.
- The document collection consists of newswire articles on the order of 1 million. The reference knowledge base includes hundreds of thousands of entities based on articles from an October 2008 dump of English Wikipedia.
- The annotation scheme in KBP focuses on the identification of entity types of Person (PER), Organization (ORG), and Geo-Political Entity (GPE)."
- For what purpose? Mum's the word as far as INDECT is concerned.
- Nothing escapes this panoptic eye. Even popular culture and leisure activities fall under the glare of security agencies and their academic partners in the latest iteration of this truly monstrous privacy-killing scheme.
- Using the movie rental firm Netflix as a model, INDECT cites the firm's "100 million ratings from 480 thousand randomly-chosen, anonymous Netflix customers" as "well-suited" to the INDECT surveillance model.
- In conclusion, EU surveillance architects propose a "new annotation & knowledge representation scheme" that "is extensible," one that "allows the addition of new entities, relations, and events, while at the same time avoids duplication and ensures integrity."
- Deploying an ontological methodology that exploits currently available data from open source, driftnet surveillance of news, broadcasts, blog entries and search results, and linkages obtained through a perusal of mobile phone records, credit card purchases, medical records, travel itineraries, etc., INDECT claims that in the near future their research will allow "a search engine to go beyond simple keyword queries by exploiting the semantic information and relations within the ontology."
- And once the scheme is perfected, "the use of expressive logics ... becomes an enabler for detecting entity relations on the web." Or transform it into an "always-on" spy you carry in your pocket or whenever you switch on your computer.
- This is how our minders propose to keep us "safe."
- CIA Gets In on the Fun
- Not to be outdone, the CIA has entered the lucrative market of social networking surveillance in a big way.
- In an exclusive published by Wired, we learn that the CIA's investment arm, In-Q-Tel, "want to read your blog posts, keep track of your Twitter updates--even check out your book reviews on Amazon."
- Investigative journalist Noah Shachtman reveals that In-Q-Tel "is putting cash into Visible Technologies, a software firm that specializes in monitoring social media.
- It's part of a larger movement within the spy services to get better at using "open source intelligence"--information that's publicly available, but often hidden in the flood of TV shows, newspaper articles, blog posts, online videos and radio reports generated every day."
- Wired reported:
  
  Visible crawls over half a million web 2.0 sites a day, scraping more than a million posts and conversations taking place on blogs, online forums, Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Amazon. (It doesn't touch closed social networks, like Facebook, at the moment.) Customers get customized, real-time feeds of what's being said on these sites, based on a series of keywords. - Although In-Q-Tel spokesperson Donald Tighe told Wired that it wants Visible to monitor foreign social media and give American spooks an "early-warning detection on how issues are playing internationally," Shachtman points out that "such a tool can also be pointed inward, at domestic bloggers or tweeters."
- According to Wired, the firm already keeps tabs on 2.0 web sites "for Dell, AT&T and Verizon." And as an added attraction, "Visible is tracking animal-right activists' online campaigns" against meat processing giant Hormel.
- Shachtman reports that "Visible has been trying for nearly a year to break into the government field."
- And why wouldn't they, considering that the heimat security and even spookier black world of the U.S. "intelligence community," is a veritable cash-cow for enterprising corporations eager to do the state's bidding.
- In 2008 Wired reports, Visible "teamed-up" with the Washington, DC-based consulting firm "Concepts & Strategies, which has handled media monitoring and translation services for U.S. Strategic Command and the Joint Chiefs of Staff, among others."
- According to a blurb on the firm's web site they are in hot-pursuit of "social media engagement specialists" with Defense Department experience and "a high proficiency in Arabic, Farsi, French, Urdu or Russian." Wired reports that Concepts & Strategies "is also looking for an 'information system security engineer' who already has a 'Top Secret SCI [Sensitive Compartmentalized Information] with NSA Full Scope Polygraph' security clearance."
- Shachtman reveals that the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) "maintains an Open Source Center, which combs publicly available information, including web 2.0 sites."
- In such an environment, nothing escapes the secret state's lens.
- In 2007, the Center's director, Doug Naquin, "told an audience of intelligence professionals" that "'we're looking now at YouTube, which carries some unique and honest-to-goodness intelligence.... We have groups looking at what they call 'citizens media': people taking pictures with their cell phones and posting them on the internet. Then there's social media, phenomena like MySpace and blogs'."
- But as Steven Aftergood, who maintains the Secrecy News web site for the Federation of American Scientists told Wired, "even if information is openly gathered by intelligence agencies it would still be problematic if it were used for unauthorized domestic investigations or operations.
- Intelligence agencies or employees might be tempted to use the tools at their disposal to compile information on political figures, critics, journalists or others, and to exploit such information for political advantage. That is not permissible even if all of the information in question is technically 'open source'."
- But as we have seen across the decades, from COINTELPRO to Operation CHAOS, and from Pentagon media manipulation during the run-up to the Iraq war through driftnet warrantless wiretapping of Americans' electronic communications, the secret state is a law unto itself, a self-perpetuating bureaucracy that thrives on duplicity, fear and cold, hard cash.
