One day after the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao snubbed President Obama at the United Nation's Copenhagen Climate Summit, the Chinese warned the United States that China's ability to continue buying U.S. Treasury debt was limited.

Zhu Min, the deputy governor of the People's Republic of China, told the Shanghai Daily that it is getting harder for the People's Bank of China to buy U.S. Treasuries because the shrinking U.S. current account is reducing the supplies overseas.

This was dire news for the Obama administration that in 2010 and for the foreseeable future will be dependent on China to buy U.S. Treasury debt in order to fund the trillion-dollar federal budget deficits projected over the next decade.

The Shanghai Daily reported that Zhu told an academic audience that it was inevitable the value of the dollar would fall in value given the increasing reliance of the Obama administration on issuing U.S. Treasury debt to finance deficit spending.

"The United States cannot force foreign governments to increase their holdings of Treasuries," Zhu said. "Double the holdings? It is definitely impossible."

Zhu's warning was clear.
"The world does not have so much money to buy more U.S. Treasuries," he said.

Who
said last February that it was OK with them to produce a new currency
to replace the dollar? -
None other than serial tax evader, our U.S. Treasury
Secretary Timothy Geithner -
and the guy that held his nose when the corporations
to big to fail began receiving government bailouts, Federal Reserve
chief, Ben Bernanke. -
In a speech to the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce
on February 6, 2007 Bernanke warned that rising income inequality in
the U.S. “has been evident for at least three decades, if not
longer.” [1] -
Gee, I wonder what caused that?

Could it be the Federal
Reserve printing money out of thin air causing inflation and the income
disparity? -
And why did the Obama administration fail to invite the National
Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB) and the Chambers to the
“Jobs Summit” table held early in December? -

he didn’t say it, it is common knowledge among union members that
they will be reimbursed for food and lodging. -
And then we learn there
is a Federal Prison Industry that is giving 160 prisoners the “green”
jobs in one city where 80 other people destined for those jobs were
laid off. -
It seems governments at all levels are producing the most
jobs and have the most job security. -
The Chamber used to appease the United Nations regional administrative
government leaders and now the chamber seems to be unwelcome. Those
who say Appease, Appease are
hung by those they tried to please. -
Former Georgia Governor and Congressman
Zell Miller in his book, A National Party No More says Washington lawmakers
have replaced dogs as best friends in favor of Special Interest Groups
and campaign consultants. -
Our
Congress has become obsolete. -
He says the politicians are regularly petted
and fed and they wag their tails and do tricks – the favorite
one being “Beg,” but “Lie Down,” “Stay.”
“Speak” and “Roll Over” are also favorites. -
The Special Interest Groups have to keep their pets obedient and performing
in order to distort issues they must keep alive in perpetuity in order
to make their jobs seem necessary. -
Our dictator’s Executive Decrees
and his czars in charge of all these unconstitutional U.N. administrative
governmental agencies are in positions to regulate us to death at random
and they now seem to be running our country. -
Our
votes are for cosmetic purposes only. -
I’m
reminded we’ve been taught the Civil War was fought to free the
slaves but an ulterior motive of centralized government in Washington,
D.C. was overlooked in our history books. -
Our Founding Fathers clearly
understood that only a citizenry educated in morality and willingly
bound by the self-forced chains of virtue can remain free of the chains
of tyranny. -
Radio host Rush Limbaugh would ask, “How is Obama’s
Hoax and Chains working for us?” -
Current centralized government
with no checks and balances is returning us to slavery. -
And for all
those “birther”debunkers, on June 27, 2004, the East African
Standard Newspaper featured a headline that said: KENYAN-BORN OBAMA
ALL SET FOR U.S. SENATE. Obama, at the time, would have said, “Only
the president has to be a natural born citizen.” -
The
February 26, 1968 Dan Smoot Report says prior to the inauguration of
Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933, the American dollar was fully
redeemable. -
Anyone could take paper money to a bank and exchange it
for gold (in coins or bars) at the official rate of $20.67 an ounce.
(Current value of gold is approximately $1200 an ounce). -
Shortly after
taking office, Roosevelt, by Executive Decree, forbade the use of gold
as currency, forcing Americans to sell their gold to the government,
for paper money what could no longer be redeemed. -
On January 30, 1934,
Congress passed Roosevelt’s Gold Reserve Act, officially abolishing
our standard gold dollar, prohibiting further gold coinage, and forbidding
Americans to use gold as currency and making it impossible for them
to redeem paper dollars in gold. -
Christopher
Weber in his 1988 book “…Good as Gold”? How We Lost
Our Gold Reserves and Destroyed the Dollar, said in 1950, U.S. depositories
held more gold than had ever been assembled in one place. -
Throughout
the 1950s and ‘60s, the U.S. government exchanged one ounce of
gold for $35 – despite the fact that more dollars were being printed
than our gold reserves warranted. -
Then
in 1971 Republican Richard Nixon closed the gold window by breaking
the U.S. treaty commitment to redeem the dollar for gold internationally
and in so doing he removed all constraints on the Federal Reserve’s
ability to inflate and the government’s ability to pile up endless
debts. -
On August 15, 1971, the U.S. defaulted on its promise to pay
gold for dollars. It finally admitted that all the U.S. dollars in existence
could not be exchanged for gold at $35 an ounce. There were just too
many dollars and too little gold. -
This realization came too late, for
by then 400 million ounces of gold – two-thirds of the nation’s
reserves- were gone and seriously damaged our economy. -
At the same time
Nixon also imposed price and wage controls and we’ve seen prices
go up more than 350% since that day. -
(I still have in my possession
silver certificates from the 60s that were once redeemable in silver
that is now at approximately $18 an ounce) -
And Nixon, an enthusiastic
supporter of the New World Order” signed Executive Order 11647
on 2/10/1972 entered into the Federal Register on 2/12 that divided
the U.S. into 10 regions, a step towards that New World Order (One world
government). -
He staffed each of these ten Federal Regional Headquarters
with the grant-making agencies of the Federal Government with the authority
of allocating so-called Revenue Sharing “free” government
money to local units of the government who would jump threw hoops for
these freebies; -
however, how could the federal government give these
“Grants” when the Feds have been bankrupt for a long, long
time? -
Dam
Smoot writes the day following January 30, 1934, Roosevelt devalued
the paper dollar (the only time this has been done in American history)
by declaring the price of gold to be $35 an ounce. -
This gave the government
a windfall “profit” of $2.8 billion, and cheapened the people’s
money by 41%. -
Roosevelt had forced the people to sell at $20.67 an ounce.
He then raised an ounce of gold to $35 by the simple act of saying the
Treasury would pay that much for gold. -
Though it prevented Americans
from redeeming paper dollars in gold, the Gold Reserve Act of 1934 provided
foreign governments and central banking system could sell their paper
money to the U.S. Treasury for gold. -
Most
of the monetary gold reserve was stored at Ft. Knox and it was at that
point we began to see our gold reserves depleted. -
And speaking about
“windfall profits,” the certifiable nincompoop who currently
holds the position two steps away from the White House, Democrat House
Speaker Nancy Pelosi in April 2009 was proposing a windfall tax on retirement
income. -
In
the book “The Secret World of Money” by Andrew Gause, he
was asked, “What would happen if the U.S. went into default on
the interest payments on our national debt now totaling about $11 trillion
but which doesn’t take into consideration all the promised future
entitlements which now could easily be over $100 trillion. -
Perhaps at
this time we should compare this disaster with what so many people who
spent themselves into debt and have long been just one paycheck away
from bankruptcy are now facing. -
Their homes are what the industry calls
“under water” meaning the equity in their homes has been
borrowed to the hilt and then the housing market began to deteriorate
and they now find themselves with a mortgage payment they can’t
meet due to loss of a job and they owe more than their home is worth. -
As a nation, are we in a similar predicament as these homeowners?

Are
their days numbered before they must face the shame of the bankruptcy
court and attorney’s fees because they tried to keep up with the
Joneses who may also have been “under water” and drowning
in debt? -
The bank will foreclose
on the homes of these common folks who faithfully paid their taxes and
the bank will try to salvage as much as they can from the home if they
can sell it. -
American
is Insolvent. -
But
then there is the privileged class. -
In March 2001 the TV news reported
5% of the House of Representatives, 4% of the U.S. Senate, 4.8% in the
Republican President George W. Bush’s cabinet, 1.7% of I.R.S.
employees were delinquent and tax
evaders. -
While there are a “few good men and/or women”
who serve us in Washington, D.C., face it you common folks, the elitists
in Washington, D.C. do not give a darn about you. -
These greedy, totally
incompetent lickspittles are the problem – not the solution. -
On
October 12, 2009, Bloomberg News Service reported the U.S. dollar had
reached the breaking point because central banks were snubbing the dollar
and replacing it with euros and yen. -
So what if the U.S. goes bankrupt?
Will that mean the end to our sovereignty? Will that mean our personal
real estate being held as collateral will soon be owned by China? -
Did
the Red Chinese flag that was raised over Washington, D.C. in September
2009 to commemorate the anniversary of the communist takeover of China
by Chairman Mao sixty years ago send a message that “we win, you
lose?” -
Did
your paper like mine recently report in section Z a couple paragraphs
about how North Korea revalued its currency known as “won,”
at an exchange rate between old and new notes of 100 to 1? Does this
mean if the North Koreans had $100 “won,” they would now
have “one won?” The currency reform understandably sparked
panic among its citizens. -
Is
that coming to America? Are we heading for a universal currency or a
cashless society? -
Some became concerned about the 666 System from Revelation
when scanners were installed in stores but soon we went back to sleep
and it became common place from President Jimmy Carter’s new Secret
Security Force patches that had “666” on them to the U.S.
Treasury Department, Internal Revenue Service Alcohol Tobacco and firearms
badges using “666.” -
Some with medical problems had computer
chips placed in their bodies for easy scanning by medical personnel.
Others put chips in their dogs in case they got lost. Young people began
to jump on the tattoo fad. -
These
may be the best of times and the worst of times depending upon a person’s
relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. -
Other United Nations Regional
administrative government agencies make the rules and they can do anything
they wish. -
Our Constitution is no longer applicable. It’s “outmoded!”
It won’t protect us. If we think the violence is bad now, we “ain’t”
seen nothing yet should the Lord tarry. -

As
I have explained before, the Nazis were simply a subpart of a larger
Power Elite (PE) plan for world domination. -
And to find out who funded
Hitler, you might read James and Suzanne Pool’s Who Financed
Hitler: The Secret Funding of Hitler’s Rise to Power 1919-1933. -
Before
WWII, John J. McCloy was an attorney for IG Farben (German chemical
company), and as the war ended McCloy helped many Nazis avoid prosecution. -
For example, the infamous Klaus Barbie and others reportedly were sent
to the 370th Counter Intelligence Corps at Oberammergau where Private
Henry Kissinger (McCloy’s protégé) was located. -
In
Part 2 of this series, I mentioned Nazi General Reinhard von Gehlen
who was Hitler’s chief intelligence officer. With the war’s
end, the Gehlen Organization (GO) began working for the U.S., with Allen
Dulles’ CIA giving the GO hundreds of millions of dollars. -
In
turn, Gehlen helped Dulles (operating out of Bern, Switzerland) to overthrow
the elected Mossadegh government in Iran in 1953. -
Gehlen’s
chief man and successor in the U.S. was SS officer Otto Albrecht von
Bolschawing, who in 1969 worked for TCI which had classified Defense
Department contracts. -
Nazi spy George de Mohrenschildt was also in the
U.S. after WWII. He was a member of the “White Russian”
(anti-Communist) community and befriended Lee Harvey Oswald, the assassin
of President John F. Kennedy. -
De Mohrenschildt was found shot in 1977
on the day a U.S. House Select Committee on Assassinations investigator
was to see him. Attorney Mark Lane in Plausible Denial asserts
that de Mohrenschildt was a CIA contract agent. -
Whenever
I write about a secret Nazi plan for a coming World Socialist Government,
there will be those who say that’s a lot of conspiracy nonsense.
However, one should remember a couple of things pertaining to this. -
First, the government lies to us. In this regard, note the last sentence
of the first paragraph in the 1971 letter (link
here) from California Assemblyman E. Richard Barnes to President
Nixon. -
Secondly,
it’s not paranoia to say the government has been monitoring me,
because I witnessed it when I was in the federal government. -
I had thought
the government was monitoring my phone calls, so one day I didn’t
hang up when the other party did. Then I stayed silently on the phone
for several minutes, determined to outwait my monitors. Finally, two
voices came on the line – one saying “I guess he hanged
up” and the other jokingly agreeing with him! -
In
Part 3 of this series, I mentioned that Reich Propaganda Minister
Joseph Goebbels in 1940 said that in the future “people will no
longer think in terms of countries… [but rather] in terms of continents.” -
Relevant to this, Reuters on November 4, 2009 reported Czech president
Vaclav Klaus finally reluctantly signed the Lisbon Treaty creating “a
new, full-time president of the EU and foreign minister” -
and internal
changes to the EU’s system of lawmaking which will “mean
individual countries will have a harder time blocking EU legislation.” -
Klaus explained that “the Czech Republic will cease to be a sovereign
state” after the treaty goes into effect on December 1, 2009. -
Continents
like Europe with the EU then will be economically and politically merged
and managed by a World Socialist Government. -
Relevant to that, Howard
Fineman in Newsweek (October 19, 2009) authored “President of
Planet Earth,” in which he wrote: “Obama isn’t going
to be sworn in as planetary president. But it doesn’t matter;
in his mind, he already is.” -
Concerning global economics, Fineman
noted that “we cannot revive our economy… without the coordination
that world leaders talked about at the G20 in Pittsburgh.” -
This
“coordination” will become “management” of the
global economy by a World Socialist Government. -
The
next step in this plan is the first “test” global currency,
which is the result of a United Future World Currency initiative that
began in 1996 in Italy by Sandro Sassoli. -
It was based upon advice by
CFR member Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., who had written in Partisan
Review (May-June 1947): “There seems to be no inherent obstacle
to the gradual advance of socialism in the United States through a series
of New Deals…. The transition must be piecemeal….” -
Years, later, Schlesinger wrote in the CFR’s Foreign Affairs
(July-August 1995): “We are not going to achieve a new world order
without paying for it in blood as well as in words and money.” -
The
Royal Mint of Belgium was the first to issue a test coin for the new
currency, which will be given a final name and symbol via a competition
by children in 1000 schools throughout the world. -
Don’t be surprised
if the name and symbol just happen to be the ones (“The Phoenix”)
to which I have referred many times, and which can be seen on the cover
of The Economist for January 9, 1988. -
To
show you how long this plan has been operational, reflect upon the fact
that The Economist said “The Phoenix” was planned
for 2018. -
And in “The demise of the dollar” (The Independent,
October 6, 2009), Robert Fisk wrote: “In the most profound change
in recent Middle East history, Gulf Arabs are planning – along
with China, Russia, Japan and France – to end dollar dealings
for oil, moving instead to a basket of currencies including the Japanese
yen and Chinese yuan, the euro, gold and a new, unified currency planned
for nations in the Gulf Co-operation Council, including Saudi Arabia,
Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Qatar. -
Secret meetings have already been held
by finance ministers and central bank governors in Russia, China, Japan
and Brazil to work on the scheme, which will mean that oil will no longer
be priced in dollars…. -
Chinese financial sources believe President
Barack Obama is too busy fixing the U.S. economy to concentrate on the
extraordinary implications of the transition from the dollar in nine
years’ time. The current deadline for the currency transition
is 2018.” -
Thus,
the demise of the dollar as an international exchange currency is imminent. -
In “China alarmed by U.S. money printing” (The Telegraph,
September 6, 2009), a top Chinese Communist Party member, Cheng Siwei,
warned: “If they [the U.S.] keep printing money to buy bonds it
will lead to inflation, and after a year or two the dollar will fall
hard. -
Most of our foreign reserves are in U.S. bonds and this is very
difficult to change, so we will diversify incremental resources into
euros, yen, and other currencies.” -
Siwei also was quoted as saying,
“Greenspan went wrong from 2000-2004 [because] he thought everything
was all right because inflation was low, but assets absorbed the liquidity.” -
And referring to the U.S. constantly borrowing and going into debt to
China and others, Siwei quoted Ben Franklin: “He who goes borrowing,
goes sorrowing.” -
Yes,
there really has been a PE plan to bring about a World Socialist Government.
And yes, there really has been a secret Nazi plan scheduled for fulfillment
today which was part of the larger PE plan. -
One can even see how people
today have already accepted certain aspects of the Nazi mentality. -
For
example, on November 5, 1996 The New York Times published a
front-page article titled “Ban on Medical Experiments Without
Consent is Relaxed” by Gina Kolata, which begins: -
“For the
first time in half a century, new Federal regulations allow investigators
to enroll patients in some medical research studies without their consent….
Even the most ardent supporters of the new regulations say they understand
the seriousness of what they have done. -
They have repealed a principle
that dates back to the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi doctors after WWII.” -
The Nuremberg Code stated, “The voluntary consent of the human
subject is essential.” -
Unfortunately,
many people don’t read today, but they will watch a movie. So,
I sent the information regarding the secret Nazi plan to Chloe Dan with
Steven Speilberg, but received a reply “we are returning your
material herewith unread.” -
At least I tried to prevent the coming
death of tens of millions of people. -
Lastly,
if you want some indication that the Nazi movement, which was thought
to be dead, is still alive via a secret plan, reflect upon the possible
meaning of Revelation 17, which refers to “the beast that was,
and is not, and yet is.” -

The "inconvenient truth" overhanging the UN's Copenhagen conference is not that the climate is warming or cooling, but that humans are overpopulating the world.

A planetary law, such as China's one-child policy, is the only way to reverse the disastrous global birthrate currently, which is one million births every four days.
-
The world's other species, vegetation, resources, oceans, arable land, water supplies and atmosphere are being destroyed and pushed out of existence as a result of humanity's soaring reproduction rate.
-
Ironically, China, despite its dirty coal plants, is the world's leader in terms of fashioning policy to combat environmental degradation, thanks to its one-child-only edict.

The intelligence behind this is the following:

-If only one child per female was born as of now, the world's population would drop from its current 6.5 billion to 5.5 billion by 2050, according to a study done for scientific academy Vienna Institute of Demography.
-
-By 2075, there would be 3.43 billion humans on the planet. This would have immediate positive effects on the world's forests, other species, the oceans, atmospheric quality and living standards.
-
-Doing nothing, by contrast, will result in an unsustainable population of nine billion by 2050.
-
Medical and other scientific advances have benefited by delivering lower infant mortality rates as well as longevity. Both are welcome,

Humans are the only rational animals but have yet to prove it.

but humankind has not yet recalibrated its behavior to account for the fact that the world can only accommodate so many people, especially if billions get indoor plumbing and cars.

The fix is simple. It's dramatic. And yet the world's leaders don't even have this on their agenda in Copenhagen.

Instead there will be photo ops, posturing, optics, blah-blah-blah about climate science and climate fraud, announcements of giant wind farms, then cap-and-trade subsidies.

COPENHAGEN: Population and climate change are intertwined but the population issue has remained a blind spot when countries discuss ways to mitigate climate change and slow down global warming, according to Zhao Baige, vice-minister of National Population and Family Planning Commission of China (NPFPC) .

"Dealing with climate change is not simply an issue of CO2 emission reduction but a comprehensive challenge involving political, economic, social, cultural and ecological issues,
-
and the population concern fits right into the picture," said Zhao, who is a member of the Chinese government delegation.
-
Many studies link population growth with emissions and the effect of climate change.
-
"Calculations of the contribution of population growth to emissions growth globally produce a consistent finding that most of past population growth has been responsible for between 40 per cent and 60 percent of emissions growth," so stated by the 2009 State of World Population, released earlier by the UN Population Fund.
-
Although China's family planning policy has received criticism over the past three decades, Zhao said that China's population program has made a great historic contribution to the well-being of society.
-
As a result of the family planning policy, China has seen 400 million fewer births, which has resulted in 18 million fewer tons of CO2 emissions a year, Zhao said.
-
The UN report projected that if the global population would remain 8 billion by the year 2050 instead of a little more than 9 billion according to medium-growth scenario, "it might result in 1 billion to 2 billion fewer tons of carbon emissions".
-
Meanwhile, she said studies have also shown that family planning programs are more efficient in helping cut emissions, citing research by Thomas Wire of London School of Economics that states:

"Each $7 spent on basic family planning would reduce CO2 emissions by more than one ton" whereas it would cost $13 for reduced deforestation, $24 to use wind technology, $51 for solar power, $93 for introducing hybrid cars and $131 electric vehicles.

She admitted that China's population program is not without consequences, as the country is entering the aging society fast and facing the problem of gender imbalance.
-
"I'm not saying that what we have done is 100 percent right, but I'm sure we are going in the right direction and now 1.3 billion people have benefited," she said.
-
She said some 85 percent of the Chinese women in reproductive age use contraceptives, the highest rate in the world.
-

China has closed one of the country's largest file-sharing sites in what it says is a fight against copyright infringement, but could be seen as another measure aimed at controlling what content the country's Web users can find online.

The file-sharing site BTCHINA — a major source of overseas movies, television shows and games in the country — has been closed since Friday, and another site, VeryCD.com, was down Wednesday.

A report in the Southern Metropolis Daily said other file sharing sites would be closed in the coming days.

The State Administration of Radio Film and Television said BTCHINA did not have a license to distribute audio and video content. "SARFT has deleted our site's registration and shut down our site," a notice on the BTCHINA site said.

The owner of VeryCD.com, Huang Yimeng, wrote on his blog that his site was down due to a server problem, but he told The Beijing News in a report Wednesday that "we also don't have a license."

An official in SARFT's news office said they would post a news release about the file-sharing sites on its own Web site by Thursday morning.

Struggles over file-sharing sites aren't unique to China, with companies in the United States and Europe being accused of illegally sharing copyrighted material.

But China is known to have the world's most extensive system of Web monitoring and censorship and has stepped up its efforts in recent years, with Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites already blocked in the country.

Another popular Web site, the Chinese translation cooperative Yeeyan, has stopped publishing in recent days.

The government says the main targets of its Web censorship are pornography, online gambling and other sites deemed harmful to society.

I have been writing about the odd chemtrails that have been dusting our skies for about a year.

The trails are seen often in huge displays over Long Island New York where I reside.
-
They are not normal air traffic and I will no longer go about the tedious task of explaining why. They are not contrails and not being sprayed in the commercial or military air traffic lanes-

so please spare me that nonsense.

We are being sprayed with something for some reason. The only fact we have is that we are being kept in the complete dark about it.

Have you noticed the articles and newscasts concerning our climate problems?
-
Have you listened to the endless debate on climate change until you are ready to collapse from the non-ending conflict?

Have you noticed no one in any of those arenas who discuss these things ever ask, inquire or suggest that the crafts spraying our skies non stop may have something to do with our climate issues?

Is it me or are we getting to the point of such brain freeze that these things go on and on and we simply sit, stare and do nothing!

I read two articles in the past few weeks about China seeding its weather to cause early snowstorms.

The news article proclaimed clearly that Beijing Weather Modification Office found themselves seeding clouds with chemicals.

This event was in an effort to end a drought in the area. China did this not once but twice recently.

Both times produced full-blown snowstorms.

Hugo Chavez says he is starting to "bombard" clouds now that Cuba has provided Venezuela with cloud-seeding help in an effort to produce rain and alleviate the effects of a severe drought.

The Venezuelan president said that specialized equipment, sent by Fidel Castro and Cuban President Raul Castro, is starting to be used to seed clouds from planes.

"We're bombarding clouds," Chavez said during a televised speech. "We have some planes there, and some equipment that Fidel and Raul sent us."

It is clear and out in the open that climate manipulation is going on openly and without concern on this earth.

Our own country as well as so many others is also being sprayed and caught in this weather changing agenda. It is not science fiction it is real and happening.

I sit and look at this entire situation and wonder how we can with serious faces debate climate changes or problems when we are the ones tampering with Mother Nature.

I know we are heading into very unstable times ahead with many cycles coming due including volcano eruptions, earthquakes, solar changes and pole flips to mention only a few.

I cannot help fear that our interfering with our climate at this time in history a road to disastrous ends.

Freak Beijing storm turns day into night

I do not know about the weather where you live but here on Long Island New York it is really strange.

Over my lifetime I cannot recall a time when I was still wearing a jacket in the middle of June. We are not able to go side to do anything summer like as it has been raining every day now for weeks. Our pools sit unused and our beaches deserted.

I have had cracks of lightning over my house that nearly threw me out of my chair they were so loud, close and violent.

We have thunderstorms now that are low and frightening.

The few days we did have sunshine were so cold I needed a blanket wrapped around me as I tried to sit on my deck to read with a hot cup of tea at my side.

The birds I once listened to daily this time of year are silent and hiding. I imagine they are as confused as I am about this crazy weather.

I read the other day that New Jersey had a hailstorm that was so severe they needed to bring out the snow equipment to clear the road in some places.

I have to wonder what in the world is going on?

I have a sister who has a science background. She has always been interested in clouds and would talk about them ever since we were children. She knew what kinds looked what way and what caused each type to develop.

The last few years my sister has been telling that she thinks that something is wrong with the clouds.

She told me the clouds look fake to her and are not at the normal height in the sky.

I am not one to know exactly what cloud I am looking at but have noticed, once she mentioned it, that some days the sky looked as if it came out of a painting rather then the easy soft flow of mother nature.

There seemed to be a stiffness to them. A perfection that was not completely normal.

They did not float along as I remembered watching as a child but then again- I am not sure, as I am not a cloud expert.

The fact that the strange spraying that has been going on in our skies for years still continues to this very day makes me wonder if it is in someway connected to this crazy weather.

The planes that fly out of the normal travel lanes who crisscross each other leaving miles of long trails of cloud like material that turn different colors, multiply in size and drift over the land for the entire day.

A well-regarded website devoted to “open source military analysis” believes that the picture, above, is of a Chinese anti-satellite laser weapon.

Space security experts aren’t so sure. And besides, they say, the lines between laser research lab, stargazing facility, range finder, and full-on weapon site are really, really blurry.

Back in 2006, China fired lasers at U.S. satellites, possibly blinding the spacecraft for a bit.

In recent years, China’s military has made no secret of its interest in developing space weapons.

The following year, Beijing used to a missile to destroy an old weather satellite in orbit.

In a post today, the IMINT & Analysis blog asserted that these rectangular buildings in the Tian Shan mountain range of Xinjiang province could be hiding the next phase of the Chinese arsenal.

The Tian Shan facility looks a lot like known Chinese laser research centers, the blog states.

Plus, the “camouflaged buildings and robust security measures mark it as a military facility.”

All which makes it likely that “some form of high-energy laser system is being deployed” — one that could “dazzle, blind, or destroy a satellite.”

“I don’t see much to get riled up about,” e-mails Laura Grego, a senior scientist at the Union of Concerned Scientists.

For one thing, the shape of the place seems all wrong for a really destructive anti-satellite [ASAT] laser system.
-
To build one, she explains, the Chinese would need “1. a tracking system (at minimum an off-the-shelf type laser coupled with a small diameter mirror) basically a laser ranging system 2. the high powered laser 3. a highly steerable mirror for directing the laser beam onto the satellite.”

It’s possible that a high powered laser is in the rectangular shed, the ASAT mirror is in the round enclosure, and the tracking system or guide star system is in the smaller rectangular enclosure? I will have to think about it some more, but I don’t see how you would put the ASAT mirror in the rectangular building with a sliding roof, unless the telescope somehow got raised out of it, which seems unlikely. To track a satellite, you need to be able to follow arcs in all sorts of directions and have a pretty clear field of view so I would not expect that kind of mirror to be inside a rectangular building with a sliding roof.

And even if the place does have some lasers pointing skyward, it doesn’t necessarily make the place a ray gun site.

The U.S. Air Force’s Starfire Optical Range shoots lasers into space to get a clear view of objects in space.

China’s Anhui Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics uses lasers to keep track of satellites. Or lasers could be employed to designate targets to more conventional ASAT weapons.

“It’s much simpler to have a laser homing seeker on the kill vehicle than to try to make the kill vehicle smart enough to do infrared homing,” notes GlobalSecurity.org director John Pike.

But here’s the really confusing thing. The lasers could be used for a relatively-benign purpose — and still have military utility, too.

In 1997, the U.S. fired a weak, 30-watt laser at a satellite, and temporarily blinded it. “It is straightforward to dazzle — and even permanently damage, i.e. blind — imaging satellites with even relatively mediocre power lasers,” Butt writes. “You don’t need a big fancy facility to permanently damage the sensors on imaging satellites.”

Because the Chinese wouldn’t need a high-powered laser to target spacecraft.

So what exactly is going on at the base in the Tian Shan mountains? Right now, it’s hard to say.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is virtually peerless. Only a handful of
foreign ministers can match him in professionalism honed over decades in
international diplomacy. He seldom leaves the ring empty-handed. -
However, one such rare occasion came when he boarded his aircraft with his
entourage last week and warily began the 6,000-kilometer journey home from
Bangalore, the capital of the southern state of Karnataka, where he had
attended a meeting of the Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral format. -
Moscow has tried its level best over recent months to draw India and China
closer together on a common regional initiative on Afghanistan. -
The RIC meeting
in Bangalore took place against the backdrop of the eight-year war in the Hindu
Kush radiating negative energy all across neighboring regions - the Caucasus

and Central Asia, China's Xinjiang Autonomous Region, Iran's Sistan-Balochistan
province and Pakistan's tribal areas. -
However, Russian diplomats watched
helplessly as eddies in Sino-Indian ties began polluting their efforts to
bring Beijing and Delhi closer in Bangalore on the core issues of regional
security. They finally called it a day. -
Russia puts on a brave face
-
The Russians, whose pet project is the RIC, must have felt exasperated with
their "time-tested" Indian friends. -
But they wouldn't have been surprised. They
could have anticipated that the disequilibrium within the RIC format would
impact the Bangalore meeting. -
Russia and China are intensifying their
cooperation; India has largely neglected its ties with Russia in the post-Cold
War years, although most recently it has signaled renewed interest in reviving
the atrophied relationship; -
India and China, on the other hand, have drawn
closer incrementally over the past decade, but only to pull apart dramatically
in the recent period. -
Moscow usually generates a lot of hype when a RIC meeting approaches.
-
This
time, it adopted a low-key approach. An article in the influential Nezavisimaya
Gazeta newspaper by Vladimir Skosyrev, a leading commentator, underlined that
bilateral Sino-Indian problems - border disputes and the activities of the
exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, in India - were negatively
impacting the work of the RIC. -
After the RIC meeting, Lavrov went out of his way to put a brave face on
Skosyrev's prognosis. -
He said, "I want to say that no bilateral problems
between India and China had any impact on today's [RIC] meeting. In no way did
these themes surface." -
True, the Indian and Chinese foreign ministers held a
separate 90-minute meeting to devote to the hot issues in their bilateral
relations. -
Lavrov took pains to explain that the RIC was shaping up to be "a highly
promising format", given its "dialogue" on agriculture, health and business. -
He
minimized the RIC's role in crafting any initiative on Afghanistan. -
Lavrov
offered a lengthy explanation:RIC is a group of countries that are
integrally needed to mobilize regional efforts. But they are not enough. All of
Afghanistan's neighbors are needed. The US, the main supplier of troops ... is
needed. Iran is needed. The Central Asian countries are needed.
RIC is a group that was not created for Afghan affairs at all, but for other
reasons ... Although India, Russia and China have an influence on how to
normalize the situation in Afghanistan, our efforts are not enough. The three
nations can and are willing to work with other major actors to develop a
collective strategy, meaning exactly collective. -
Delhi faces
isolation -
Not that the RIC format lacks a raison d'etre - as the pro-American elements in
the Indian strategic community and media constantly try to establish. -
Its
relevance is acute, as three big countries with common concerns in the Asian
continent come together within an exclusive format to discuss shared interests
on the core issues of regional security - terrorism, religious extremism,
political separatism, etc - and coordinate their policies. -
Without doubt, regional cooperation has become the leitmotif of international
politics within the new reality of a polycentric world. -
World politics is
beginning to operate in a new coordinate system. -
Regional formats so far remain
mostly in dialogue formats with relatively modest agendas, but all understand
that this format sets a certain standard of equal, cooperative relations. -
Regionalization of global politics attends to various compulsions.
-
A need often
arises to find regional solutions to conflicts and crisis situations. -
Again,
regionalization fills in where global mechanisms are either insufficient or are
lacking. -
At other times, a safety net is simply required in case of any likely
"de-globalization" (as in Afghanistan) so that fragmentation is arrested. -
Clearly, regional formats provide additional possibilities for the formation of
unifying agendas. -
But, unlike Russia and China, which take to regional formats with zest, Indian
diplomacy generally holds back. -
India's preponderant size in its region and its
problematic relationships with China and Pakistan partly account for its
reticence. -
But the crisis building up in the Pakistan-Afghanistan region shows
up the inadequacies of India's "solo approach". Delhi's inability to partake of
regional initiatives on Afghanistan virtually isolates it in the region. -
Evidently, its nationalist isolationism is reducing India to being a bystander
when momentous regional processes are unfolding. -
There has been a systematic
attempt by influential sections of the Indian strategic community to deride or
downright rubbish and undermine India's involvement in regional processes -
such as the RIC - that exclude the US or towards which Washington remains
antithetical. -
India has the maximum to lose in the absence of a regional initiative on the
settlement of the Afghan problem. -
Delhi holds an archaic view of the Taliban.
While there is wide recognition in the region that the Taliban are an Afghan
political reality, Delhi stands apart. -
The security establishment in Delhi sets
the pace for Indian diplomacy and in its vision, the Taliban are the progeny of
Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence and therefore India cannot countenance a
role for the Taliban in Afghanistan's power structure. -
But then, the Afghan conflict is first and foremost a fratricidal strife, and
an enduring solution needs to be all-inclusive. -
Besides, who are Indians to
prescribe what is good for the Afghan people? Delhi would have gained by
working together with like-minded countries that broadly share India's
misgivings about the ascendancy of radical forces in the region and yet accept
the inevitability of a broad-based pan-Afghan settlement. -

Now, these three countries are ahead of India in forging regional matrixes
within which they advance their national interests. -
Russia and China work
together within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. -
Russia also has an
alliance system in the Collective Security Treaty Organization. -
Iran has
initiated its own trilateral format with Pakistan and Afghanistan. -
Obama's Chinese takeaway

To be sure, Washington heaved a big sigh of relief that the RIC process failed
to mature. -
The dreadful moment, from the US perspective, would be if and when
the RIC began bearing the fruits of regional activism. -
Therefore, the RIC's
state of health has all along been of intense curiosity to Washington. The US
has been stalking the RIC - just as it is doing with regard to Tokyo's nascent
idea of an East Asian community. -
As the president of the influential Japan
Foundation, Kazuo Ogoura, wrote last week, "It is intolerable [for Washington]
to see Asians considering their relations among each other in a form that
excludes the US." -
Moscow will feel concerned. Lavrov candidly admitted to Russian journalists
accompanying him, "[The George W] Bush administration sinned by a lopsided
interpretation of collective efforts ... Obama has announced a different
philosophy - that of collective action, which calls for joint analysis,
decision-making and implementation rather than for all others to follow
Washington's decisions. -
[But] so far inertia lingers at the implementers' level
in the US, who still follow the well-trodden track ... -

The RIC's failure at Bangalore to work substantially on a regional initiative
regarding Afghanistan ensures that the US can now press ahead with its own
strategy of striking "grand bargains" individually with the three major
regional powers - Russia, China and India. -
Conceivably, the "Chinese takeaway" will be a substantial outcome of US
President Barack Obama's forthcoming visit to Beijing. -
The Pentagon press
release on the talks in Washington between US Secretary of Defense Robert Gates
and the visiting vice chairman of China's People's Liberation Army Central
Military Commission, General Xu Caihou, said the two sides "agreed on the need
to work together" on Afghanistan and Pakistan. -
Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said, "The takeaway is that there was
broad agreement on the importance of, and how to deal with, the situation in
Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the need to work together to create a more stable
and secure environment in both those places." -

Beijing hand - argued that Obama must carry a purposive "China List" when he
travels Beijing. -
They wrote:
Three overarching "deliverables" could be
identified that if implemented would significantly reshape the US-China
relationship and address serious challenges the two countries face together. -
One, establish a formal mechanism among the leaders of the United States, China
and Pakistan. China is Pakistan's most important supporter both because of
their geographical proximity and China's perception of Pakistan as a
counterweight to India -
The interests for the United States and China are consonant in Pakistan:
removing extremist fundamentalist activity, stabilizing the leadership and
encouraging economic growth ... -
The United States should make it clear it does
not want to displace Beijing's influence in Islamabad, but a tripartite
approach would advance shared interests -
... The Obama trip to Beijing provides
an opportunity to elevate the relationship to include constructive engagement
in concentric areas of shared interest - stabilizing Pakistan, advancing soft
power interests in Afghanistan, and cooperating on security matters and shared
challenges in East Asia. -
The Afghan crisis is most certainly
prompting a shift in geopolitical templates. -
What if the Chinese side has its
own "Obama List"? Beijing will be justified in asking: How could China possibly
cooperate in the security sphere with the US and the Western alliance in
Afghanistan when the West maintains a 20-year-old arms embargo on China? -
