Bible & Spade. Chap7: The Law of Moses: Ras Shamra Tablets

  • THE RAS SHAMRA TABLETS
  • Ras Shamra, on the coast of Asia Minor opposite Cyprus, seems a far cry
from Arabia, but there is reason to believe that the Phoenician inhabitants
of this place, the ancient seaport of Ugarit, were in some way connected
with Kadesh and the Negeb from the second millennium onwards.

Extersteine: the quest for Germany’s roots

  • The
church of St Peter is a large, interesting building. On the left-hand
side, near the confessional, is a solitary stone, which is labeled
“Irminsul”, and which is known to have been found
    on the site in 1938.
  • Speaking to the local vicar, he notes that
there is doubt whether this is indeed the original Irminsul, noting
that it is not made of wood, but is instead a stone structure,
similar in form to the Irminsul on display in Externsteine –
though this time, not cut down.

ANAK Krakatau: The Father, The Son and The Tongues of Fire -- Part Four

  • According to John Jay Harper “solar flares have been equated with flu pandemics, as well as with increased earthquake activity and underwater volcanism.”
    • As a small child, I recallmy paternal Grandmother telling me of a then current news report of great solar/sunspot activity and this event, as I recall, was the year or very near the year 1957. 1957 was also the year of a very large and lethal flu outbreak. - on 2009-10-12

  • According to Dr. Freitas’ Sunspots and Disease (1984) six of the major influenza epidemics going back at least to 1917 were synchronized with the sunspot cycle (or solar cycle).
