- 気をそらすサイトをできるだけ見ないようにする — 調べ物の途中で、YouTubeや有名人のゴシップサイトに引っかかって何時間も浪費してはいけない。どのサイトで時間を無駄にしているか調べたいときには、8aweekのようなソフトウェアをインストールして自分が訪れたサイトと滞在時間を記録してみると良い。
- ブックマークをうまく使う — 単にブックマークするだけではなく、ブックマークをフォルダ分けするなどオーガナイズするのが重要だ。
- RSSリーダを使う — 説明不要。
- 参加するソーシャルネットワークサービスを絞る — 多くあるからと言って、なんでもかんでも手を出してはいけない。
- 新着メールの通知サービスをうまく使う — メールチェックに時間を浪費していないか? 受信箱に実際に新着メールが届いた時だけ見にいけばよい。Biffなどを使おう。
