"Fernstock is a K4-6th grade Music Festival. Each class (24 total) decides upon a performance to present at the annual Fernstock Festival. The Festical invites all family members, and community, as well as the student body, to come and enjoy a day of Musical performances.
* Classes choose a venue/genre of music.
* Students in younger grades (K4-2) are given 3-5 peices of music to listen to. They select one they agree upon.
* The students create a perfomance around the music. It may be avant garde, contemporary, etc. in nature.
* Students learn the music (rhythm, counting measures, lyrics, etc.)
* Students incorporate choreography, costumes, etc. into their performance.
After 6 weeks of practice, they present their performances to the audience."
