Linux News: Collaboration: Internet Collaboration Drives Electric Car Conversion Crusade

  • A Finnish Internet community is seeking to apply the collective approach taken by online collaborators like the authors of Wikipedia to start a mass movement toward electric cars. The plan is to encourage the conversion of used gasoline-powered cars to run on electricity, with the first rollout due this year.


    The Finnish-language forum,
    eCars - Now!, claims to be first of its kind in the world, and is working in the tradition of the open source projects used in information technology -- like the Linux computer operating system, which was also started by a Finn.
