Cricinfo - Four fast bowlers no concern, says Kumble

  • Tait has never played India in a Test or a one-day international and he is keen to test them with his speed and bounce. A few of their senior players, including Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, came up against Tait in a tour match when they last visited Australia in 2003-04 and while he was not the dominant bowler in that match he has matured since then.
    • Tait is known for his injury prone body. Indians have to just play basics. Out of the four, only Brett Lee is a wicket inducing bowler. Indians have to see him off during his short spells and play basics/attacking against the rest. Even Lee can go for runs but you cannot relax against him. - on 2007-12-19

Google Announces Fastest Growing Search Terms

  • The queries are below. It’s not clear how different these will be from the year-end Zeitgeist list. Last year Google described how they came up with the list: “we looked for those searches that were very popular in 2006 but were not as popular in 2005 — the explosive queries, the topics that everyone obsessed over. To come up with this list, we looked at several thousand of 2006’s most popular searches, and ranked them based on how much their popularity increased compared to 2005.” That sounds a lot like how this list would be compiled.

Cricinfo - A field day for left-arm bowlers

  • Very nice bit of information....game of numbers.
    - landmine on 2007-10-17
  • For the first time in an ODI, left-arm bowlers took all ten wickets in an innings (six for Kartik, two for RP Singh, one each for Zaheer Khan and Irfan Pathan). The previous record was nine, also in Mumbai, and also in an India-Australia match: the last time the two teams played here, in 2003-04, Michael Clarke and Nathan Bracken took four each, while Brad Hogg chipped in with one. The 16 wickets by left-armers in this match is also a record, going past the previous mark of 11, which had been achieved three times - in the Mumbai game mentioned above, in Dhaka earlier this year when Bangladesh played India, and in an Australia-Sri Lanka game in Sydney in 2005-06.

Cricinfo - Panache meets purpose

  • I think pakistan has an edge over kiwis. They have a balanced attack in bowling and on their day, pakistan batsman can play to win.
