What is Feed Analysis?

The number of subscribers is very useful for bloggers to determine the popularity of their blogs. Yet, blogger like me may hope that the FeedBurner stats can tell us how fruitful our effort results without much analytical calculation on our own. As such, I developed Feed Analysis which can provide bloggers, with the aid of beautiful interactive charts, a more detailed report and analysis from our feeds.

I‘m Joseph Fieber, the founder of ITsVISTA. I’ve worked in the IT field for over 20 years, and in that time I’ve learned the importance of finding ways to get the job done better and faster. I currently work for a university where I oversee approximately 600 Microsoft Windows based computers (both desktops and laptops) used by students, faculty and staff.

ITsVISTA is a play on words. It could be read as “it’s Vista!”, as in “What’s this site about?”. It could also be read as “I.T.’s Vista”, as in “Vista for Information Technology Professionals”. If you want to get abstract, you could even consider that Vista can mean ‘perspective’, so “ITsVISTA” could mean “Information Technologies Perspective”. Perspective on what? VISTA! All of these definitions work.

Many of the changes made in Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 occur behind the scenes and were designed to improve performance. As such, they may not be readily apparent unless you’re actively seeking them out and using a stop watch. Many Vista users were hoping for a few, possibly dramatic, changes in the graphical user interface. However, those types of changes just weren’t part of Microsoft’s plan for service pack 1.

Even so, there are indeed some changes in Windows Vista SP1 that you can actually see.

In this edition of the Windows Vista Report, I’ll take a look at a few of these visible changes in SP1 and explore some of the advantages and disadvantage of these changes. As I do, I’ll offer some comparisons between the original release to manufacturing (RTM) version of the update and the SP1 version.
