10 Quotes in Honor of Fathers Day
My wife was one of those children who grew up without a father in the house. In fact, she never knew him. When we got married almost 42 years ago, my father became her father. That was the closest she ever came to having a father. Although he is now in heaven, we think of him often.
She put together these quotes about fathers and wanted to share them with you in honor of Father’s Day.
Set a Goal for a Happy Father’s Day!
Father’s Day is coming! I want to take the occasion of Father’s Day to share a little about my Father. He is in heaven now, but he left many memories with those he left behind; and he left the legacy of a strong, loving, and loved, family.
Where are Your Goals Taking You?
When you come to a fork in the road, how do you know which one to take? The well-known quotation from Lewis Carroll's "Alice In Wonderland" addresses this question so well.
Goals Help Groups Achieve Too!
Are you a member of a group or organization? You probably are. Most of us belong to a church, a club, or organization of some kind that works together to accomplish things that are important to the members of the group. Groups can, and should, use goals just as individuals do. Think about it. If it works for an individual to organize and structure his or her actions to achieve an important goal, the same principles will work for a group as well. The goal achievement process is very much the same.
Are You Too Old to Have Goals?
I was visiting with a friend the other day; we were talking about some of the things I have written about setting goals. I was surprised to hear her say: "Oh, I'm too old to have goals!" Yes, I was surprised, especially since we're both about the same age! I responded that you're never too old to have goals, but I've been thinking about it a lot ever since. Is there a time when you're "too old" to have goals? Let's take a look at a few examples.
10 Goal Quotes to Motivate You
As you read each quote about goals, think about your life and how these motivational quotes relate to you. Have you set goals for yourself? Are you achieving those goals? Maybe you will be motivated by these great people and their statements about the importance of goals in your life.
Answer Three Questions and Make Your Goals Attainable
If you've done very much reading about the subject of setting goals, you've probably seen acronym "SMART." This acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic/Relevant, and Time Bound. That's a pretty good set of considerations, but I'm going to focus on just one in this article.

Stop Friends From Sabotaging Your Goal Achievement
I received an interesting comment from a lady on Gather.com. She had read one of my articles about eliminating negative to achieve your goals. She said, “I teach college English where I see students sabotage themselves and who also let others sabotage them. Why do friends and family members put obstacles in their paths?” She also mentioned how people will tempt their friends who are on diets with sweets and other “off-diet” foods.

You can start teaching them something today that you may never have been taught; you can teach them how to practice goal setting and goal achievement.
Setting Goals - Not Just For Adults
Are you teaching your children how to set and achieve goals? This is an important skill for people of all ages. Do your children a favor; teach them to use it! I have asked many people whether they were taught how to set and achieve goals in school. I have yet to have anyone answer "yes." That's a shame, isn't it?
Execution Delivers Success
We have reached the last letter in the word change. We've talked about commitment, help, action, no negative, get excited, and now we're down to execution. It's good that execution is the last focus in this study because in many ways it anchors all the others. All those other words and letters won't deliver success without execution.
Distractions - Keep Your Focus and Talk to Yourself!
In my last post I looked at how sometimes life, and its little surprises, can get in the way of our goals. Emergencies and other distractions can occur that really do create a need to reprioritize our plans a bit. But, how what about the more “normal” distractions? How can we deal with them? Let’s consider two different types of distractions.
Goal Achievement vs Distractions - Life Gets in the Way! - Launch Your Goals Blog
Sometimes, even after we’ve carefully considered our goals and written them down and planned our actions, we just can’t seem to keep ourselves focused on following the plan. It seems that life just gets in the way! This really isn’t unusual, but it can really stop our progress and cause doubts about our ability to actually complete the plan and reach our goal.
Execution Means Success - Launch Your Goals Blog
The last word in our "change" acronym is execution. You've accepted the challenge, gotten the help you need, put your action plan together, eliminated the negative, and gotten excited. What's left? You need to execute all of it!
Get Excited, Achieve Your Goals
The fifth letter in the word change, G, presented a bit of a challenge. G for goal? That seemed a bit obvious, and this whole thing is about goals anyway. G for grow, for gravitate, for—for what? Then I remembered what one of my business mentors used to say: "Nothing ever happens until somebody gets excited!" It's true, and it's the topic of this article looking at the word change.
Eliminate Negative, Achieve Goals
The fourth letter in the word change is N. I'm using the N to remind us to eliminate negative to increase our probability of reaching our goals. Remember your math lessons; a double negative becomes a positive. No, no negative becomes positive! If you want to reach your goals, you'll need to believe that you can and you will. There's no room for negative thoughts about it. So, you're going to eliminate, as much as possible, the negative.
Get Excited to Succeed! - 6 of 7 Posts
The fifth word in our "change" acronym is get excited! I remember an old saying: "Nothing happens until somebody gets excited!" Well, it's your goal and you're going to achieve it, so YOU need to get excited.
