Prices paid to U.S. producers rose 0.9 percent, more than the 0.6 percent
predicted by economists. The gain underscores Federal Reserve concern that
inflation won't moderate as the economy expands. Growing demand from overseas
has pushed up prices for raw materials, giving businesses reason to try to pass
on higher costs to customers.
