A couple weeks ago I pointed out a research paper that indicated that secure erasure of SSDs was problematic at best. Turns out there are some encryption issues too. Check out this article for some things to consider.
Intersting paper on the effectiveness of traditional methods of wiping hard drives when used on SSDs. Short and sweet, it doesn’t work. Need to use verified correct built-in functions.
We will be seeing more and more drives that support this model.
