The History Game Canada
The History Game Canada is a game based on Canadian history that lets anyone play the past. Based on the award-winning, best-seller Sid Meier's Civilization III, The History Game Canada is the "What If" game of Canada... and you're the author. Will you replay our history or rewrite it?
History teachers and high-school students are our primary audience, but we think we’ve designed a game that will appeal to all ages, all Civilization players, and anyone with a passing interest in the history of North America and particularly Canada.
You’ll need a copy of Civilzation III Conquests (patched to version 1.22) or a copy of Civilization III Complete. (Canada pack is free)

Teachers can also set up classes and assign projects to students. Students complete the assignments by creating their own online projects or reports. Teachers and students can even add images and links to their pages.

Education | Glogster
Jim Dachos Glogster Education Manager said...
About two months ago I initiated an internal audit to eliminate connections between Glogster and EDU Glogster. This process is nearly complete. In our new release, due next week, we will have eliminated ALL links between Glogster and edu.glogster.com. Additionally, we will publish information that will allow technology integrators the opportunity to block Glogster yet allow edu.glogster.com. This “block” will be COMPLETE.

Blending Professional Development to focus on Content, Technology and Pedagogy » Moving at the Speed of Creativity
an outstanding post linking TPACK and stages of technology use by teachers. probably one of the best I've read yet.
-
…effective teaching represents a “dynamic equilibrium” between content, pedagogy, and technology such that a change in any one of the factors has to be compensated by changes in the other two. For example, teachers who change the technology they use naturally make changes to their pedagogical approach and the content they cover to create a new “curriculum” that is also highly effective.
-
- Level 1: An awareness of the technology tool or resource
- Level 2: Personal use of the technology tool or resource
- Level 3: Instructional use of the technology tool or resource using an existing “recipe” (lesson or assignment ideas created by someone else)
- Level 4: The invention level, creating your own instructional “recipes” for learners using the tool or resource along with others. This is “inventive blending.”
