Video PSA Spurs Engagement Through Humor
When administrators in the Mesquite (Texas) ISD wanted principals to complete 100 classroom walkthroughs before spring break, they employed this humorous video featuring three dancing principals as one effort designed to grab people's attention. When they introduced a district-wide goal of raising state test scores by 10 percent, a video parody of the Sonic restaurant commercials was one tool they employed to drive home their goal with a little humor.

Our students will certainly enter a workplace that will be unrecognizable to us, and we will need to equip them with the skills to embrace and manage change in how information is produced, delivered and received. In the end, the key elements in a laptop program at school will continue to be the teacher-student relationship and the integration of technology, curriculum content, and school culture.
