Best Symfony IDE: Eclipse PDT + Symfoclipse + Clay | Symfony-framework.com

  • My favourite IDE is Eclipse PDT.

It is open-source, it offers typical IDE features, it integrates the WTP platform for web applications and it can take advantage of the thousands of available Eclipse plugins.

Furthermore, an additional reason to choose Eclipse PDT is for Symfoclipse, the eclipse plugin that simplifies the development of web application. This goal has been reached thanks also to Symfony Framework.

ThemBid.com » Blog Archive » Build Scalable Web 2.0 Sites with Ubuntu, Symfony, and Lighttpd

  • In this post, I will discuss the steps taken to optimize our initial ThemBid.com server to have a scalable website using Ubuntu, Lighttpd, PHP, and Symfony that can be applied to most Web 2.0 applications running on Linux. In the last part of this article I discuss an upgrade plan to scale your application as you grow.

Really easy field validation * Dexagogo

  • The basic method is to attach to the form's
onsubmit event, read out all the form elements' classes and perform validation if required. If a field fails validation, reveal field validation advice and prevent the form from submitting.

typesafe objects in PHP

    • The approach we choose here changes the behaviour of PHP objects:

      • properties are always initialized with NULL
      • properties are NOT automaticly declared
      • properties always have a type
      • at assigment the type is enforced and converted if possible without loss of data
      • WSDL generation
      • SQL which is automaticly escaped correctly

phpMyID

  • phpMyID is a standalone, single user, OpenID Identity Provider.

About — OpenID Enabled

  • The PHP OpenID library lets you enable OpenID authentication on sites built using PHP.  It features the OpenID consumer, Store implementations, and an OpenID server.

ANSI.EXE

  • ANSI.EXE is a Win32 implementation of the subset of ANSI.SYS escape
sequences that deal with screen output. ANSI.EXE is used as a filter
on the output of any program that generates ANSI escape sequences.
Place ANSI.EXE in your path and run YourProgram.exe, which generates
    ANSI escapes, like this:

    YourProgram ...your-program-parameters... | ansi

This program was invented as a fix for using "Msub -ask" on Windows NT, and
this is all it has been tested with.

Re: Persistent connections?

  • As I understand it, a call to Propel::getConnection() returns a new
    > connection, right? The documentation says something to the affect that
    > the initial connection call can be persisted, would this be by using
    > Creole's "Creole::PERSISTENT" flag? If so, how do I pass this flag into
