Twitter the new frontier for ID thieves?
"Police say personal information commonly found on social networking sites such as Facebook is "gold" for crooks using the internet to steal identities.
And online crime busters warn micro-blogging site Twitter could be the new frontier for cyber thieves.
Speaking at a National Identity Crime Symposium on the Gold Coast today, Queensland Police Deputy Commissioner Ian Stewart said simple dates of birth, career details and home addresses posted by social networking users on online profiles were being mined by identity fraudsters."
