Upgrading mediawiki and database error - DreamHost Forum

  • Did you run the update.php (and refreshLinks.php) scripts after doing the upgrade? The update.php shouldupdate the database to make sure all the appropriate tables for the new version are in the database.

    From your error message, I suspect that might be relevant.

Rich Text Editing With Dojo

  • Provide WYSIWYG, not source editing

    Users like WYSIWYG because they care about how something looks and not the
    quality of HTML produced. The Dojo Editor provides What You See Is What You
    Get (WYSIWYG) and not What You See Has A Semantic Meaning Which May Or May
    Not Be What You Get (WYSHASMWMOMNBWYG). Therefore, filtering and reworking
    HTML to meet markup cleanliness is done via hooks at save time, not
    invasive and slow DOM manipulation at runtime.
  • Do not break undo

    Browsers that support Rich Text editing hook editing into the undo stack.
    This means that hitting ctrl-z should work. The Dojo Editor takes
    great pains to avoid doing things that break this behavior. Users trust an
    editor (and the applications that use it) more if minor mistakes do not
    incur disproportionate costs.

  • The wiki format of StrategyWiki allows for multiple editors
    , thus improving the insight and quality each guide recieves. With many people able to lend their help and knowledge, guides can quickly gain depth. And with a wide range of editors, secrets are more easily dicovered and documented. Enforcing the community aspect of guide creation also serves to stifle elitism.
